Creating batch job with 5 classes

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I have to do five different operations at different time instances.
1.Generate a report at morning 11.00 AM.
2.update a table with more than 6000 rows at night 12.30 AM
3.Generate a second report querying from the database at 10.00 AM Everyday.
4.Generate an automail at 11.30 Am Everyday
All these are plain Java classes and not web components. How could I effectively design the batch job so that it doesnot take nmuch memory and design classes so that they must be reusable like DB connection,Getting a db field value frequently etc.
Can any one help me on this.

Batch job with 2 conditions

Hi,
We have a program that will create a batch job and then we need to go to SM35 to run that batch job manually. We want to avoid this manual step and what we want to do is to as soon as our program runs it will create a batch job and then batch job should kick off automatically.
One of the solution that came to my mind is to schedule a batch job with two conditions:
1. in first condition it will run our main program
2. and in 2nd step it will look out for the batch job that created in SM35 and will kick off that, but I am not sure how can i do this using Sm36.
I was also wondering if there is another way so that we can just avoid the batch run for the second step?
So can you please help me with this.

SM35 -> batch sessions, so I assume you are talking about these.
You can start sessions under program control by submitting program RSBDCSUB after creation of the session.

and what is the use of JOB_GROUP option??

Email Address not visible for output device MAIL in created batch job

Issue in ECC6.0: Email Address not visible to display/change for output device MAIL in print parameter of each step in the created batch job.
User wants to periodically receive report file via send to his email, so I create the batch job running report and send the report in pdf file to his email.
Detail in the batch job
1) In print parameter screen of the step in the batch job
-Using output device MAIL (output type ZPDF1)
-inputting email address of receiver in the EMAIL ADDRESS field
2) After the batch job was saved, I tried to display/change the field EMAIL ADDRESS via Tx. SM37, but this field is invisible. The field can not be displayed or changed anymore. I also tried in SM36, but it is for creating new batch job, not changing the existing batch job.
4) User receives email with pdf file from the batch job.
How to change/display the email address of the receiver in the created batch job?
Note that we just changed to use SAP ECC6 from SAP 4.6c. In SAP 4.6c, we can change/display the
Email Address Field via Tx. SM37.

After saving the job if the job has not started then you can follow the below steps to change the Email address.
1. View the job from Txn SM37.
2. check the check box for your job that you want to change and goto menu path "Job->change
3. in the next screen goto "Edit->steps." or press "F6" key
4. place the coursor on the job and goto menu path "Step->change->print specifications.
5. here you can change the email address.
If you are not able change the data then you might not have authorization.

Creating a job with arguments

Hi,
This might sound really remedial, but can someone explain to me how I go about creating a job with arguments with programs. It errors out when I try to use DEFINE_PROGRAM_ARGUMENTS and when I try to use SET_JOB_ARGUMENTS_VALUE. Maybe it's the order I do it in. Any directions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Almost any internal error is an Oracle bug and you should report this to support.
This is definitely not supposed to happen and I haven't seen this error before, do you have a test case throwing the error ?

Creating backup Job with DBMS_SCHEDULER

Can someone please help me out here:
I'm using Oracle10g release 1 on windowsXP
I'm trying to create a backup job with dbms_scheduler and it's not working.
This is what I did:
I created a job as follows:

While rman_bkp is an RMAN command but it wasn't working.
Please where do I get it wrong?
Kindly put me through the EXECUTABLE or should I use PL/SQL_BLOCK and how?

You need to use the full path to a real Windows executable and the arguments to it e.g. for a batch script you would have to do something like
c:\windows\cmd.exe /q /c c:\myscript.bat

Sftp batch job with password?

Hi folks.
We're trying to develop scripts to automate the transfer of files from various Windows machines to a Linux server. Because the job involves moving multiple files to multiple directories, I wanted to use sftp's -B batchfile option to transfer the files instead of having to reauthenticate every time we transfer files to a different location. However, the man page says:
Batch mode. Reads commands from a file instead of standard input. Since this mode is intended for scripts, SFTP2 will not try to interact with the user, which means that only passwordless authentication methods will work.
I would love to use keys to get this done but unfortunately, the type of authentication on the server is out of our control and not likely to change (it's straight password). So, is there any way I can do this in batch mode with password authentication? I thought about using scp but, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have great support for delivering multiple local files (in different locations) to multiple remote locations. One would have to re-authenticate for every scp command, right?

Thanks for the recommendation, Endperform, but after reading up on expect and autoexpect, I realized I'd rather not have usernames and passwords hard coded into the script.
After much research, I think I've found a solution. It's a little odd but the Maverick Ant library does exactly what I need it to do. It can actually read an ssh profile, perform multiple transfers without having to re-authenticate and execute multiple remote commands without having to reauthenticate. The native Ant libraries can't do this. There is no sftp Ant task and the scp and sshexec tasks are lacking to say the least.
If anyone else runs into a similar situation, I highly recommend the Maverick tool.

Problem in creating Batch job for programs in different servers.

I have a requirement like i have 2 different programs ( PRG1,PRG2 ) running in 3 different SAP servers (SER1,SER2,SER3).
I want to create a batch job for the programs.
Here When I run the PRG1 in Server SER1,it will create a file1 in SER1 as well as the other 2 servers (SER2 and SER3).
It just create a file and there is no content in the file.Once i start writing records to file1in SER1,the same record will be started writing in SER2 and SER3.This is using PRG1.
Once PRG1 will complete writing records in file,Next PRG2 will run in SER2 using file created by PRG1.
I want to create a batch job for PRG1.
How to trigger the PRG2 after completing job1 for PRG1 without any manual interaction.
Please help me for this.

You can set steps in these jobs in transaction SM36.
You can define that Job 2 starts after Job1 complete sucessfully and same game for other jobs.

Now according to functional requirement I have to create two batch job scheduling scenarios:
1. Provide a batch job to be run towards month end (2X, 1X) to sent a delta record message using Report. This is scheduled on demand or requested on demand. Recommend 1 message per sales org.
Q: What does it mean by scheduled on demand or requested on demand?? Second thing is that like we have 10 sales org. and in variants for job scheduling we can assign only 1 at a time......how can i schedule per sales organization? do i need to create different job for each sales organization??

I have the same Problem :-(
In adittion I have an authentivication with LDAP.
If I create the user in the Repository I can connect to it but I receive the following Problem:

Query on batch jobs with overlapping time during execution time

Dear experts,
This post is related to a task in SAP SCM EM module and currently I am working on an archival activity that comprises of two tasks to be done through 2 different programs (scheduled through batch jobs)
Job 1 is created to deactivate particular Event Handler records (changing a status field on the EH record)
Job 2 (archival job) runs daily and writes deactivated EHs to a local file and subsequently deletes this from SAP server.
Archival job takes an average of 30 hrs to complete .
Therefore my query is on how to schedule Job1, as these seem to be dependent and might impact each other in unexpected manner.
Please advise.

Hi Mohan,
You can try as Daniel suggested. Delay Archieving job or can run after deactivating Event Handler records job is finished. Check any parallel processing is available or not.
It can stop your overlapping issue and can increase your performance.
