Creating Complex Datatypes in Application Module Service Interface

HI All,
I need to create the complex datatype as response in Application module service interface(Custom method).
Is there any way to create it.
I am able to create when i have simple datatype as response, Whereas the complex type is not able to create.
Please give me some suggestion.

  • How to create entity object (Business Component) using service interface

    Hi,
    I have tried to create one entity object (ADF Business Component) in JDeveloper 11g using service interface option instead of database schema but getting Failed to read service WSDL URL: http://....?wsdl message.
    I have tried with axis default service Admin & Version wsdl and got same error message.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    +"Oracle ADF Business Components application modules offer built-in support for web services and for publishing rows of view object data as service data objects (SDOs). This means that you can use an application module both as a local component and as a remotely accessible service, thereby using the same component to support interactive web user interfaces and web service clients. Entity objects that you create in your local Business Components project can utilize SDOs that the service-enabled application module exposes on its service interface."+
    This means that you don't use Axis services but ADF Business Components Services. I am not sure this functionality made it in Boxer, but surely will in the next

  • Non-void return type for Application Module Clients Interface

    Hello, can anyone guide me on how will I solve my problem.
    first of all, I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3, I use JSF, ADF Faces, ADF Model, ADF Business Components.
    I made a web page that has a Transactional Capabilities, all is going smoothly, all data's can be saved to oracle database. I created a Custom Method in my Application Module and can be used in Clients Interface, that method is for saving data's to database.
    My problem is I dont know how to create a custom method that returns a value in my Application Module. Which means if I set it to non-void return type, it is not visible to Client Interface. If you're going to ask me why I need it to return a value? Well since that method is for saving data's, if there's an Error Occured, I can return the Error Message and show it to my user interface.
    Please help. thanks

    If you want to return your own type then simply define it as serializable and you will find that it will appear in the Client Interface dialog of your AM.
    eg, you could return this type from your application module to progagate a meaningful message to your UI:
    package com.delexian.model;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    public class MyMessage implements Serializable {
        private String _severity;
        private String _message;
        public MyMessage() {
        public void setSeverity(String severity) {
            this._severity = severity;
        public String getSeverity() {
            return _severity;
        public void setMessage(String message) {
            this._message = message;
        public String getMessage() {
            return _message;
    }regards,

  • Some data is missing while returning complex datatype from a web service

    Hi
    I am returning a complex data type from a web service. complex data type has a super class and some(not all) values from this super class are not being returned to the client. Strange part is that it giving some fields from super class and some values are not returned.
    I saw the soap response also it does not show any tag for those fields. but while creating a response i am setting some string values to those fields but i am not getting at client side.
    all the serailiastion and deseialization classes where created using ANT tasks and i have checked that all the cedec classes have been created.

    for what it's worth, the same problem was reported by one of our developers, although the string size was considerably smaller (probably less then 1 MB). According to him, soap clients generated from apache tools could connect fine and process the XML records. JDev hung. We simply changed our use case to return smaller results sets, but perhaps you could also generate your clients with WSDL2Java rather then JDev (if it is a truly a bug in JDev SOAP)? Can you add record parameters to the payload, in order to limit the results and scroll between remaining rows?

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0:  AM Service Interface Problems

    Hi,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.1.0 and Business Components, Application Module, Service Interface.
    I want to publish a custom method of my application module wich expectes some parameters and returns a List<ViewObject> using an Applcation Module Service.
    I tested the 'Application Module' and the 'Application Module Service' in the 'HTTP Analyser' and 'Embedded Web Logic Server' and it works fine.
    But now I am facing some problems.
    Problem 1:
    When starting "Test Web Service" I get the Error Message: Unable to Invoke Tester - The Web Service Tester cannot be invoked, because the WSDL document of the selected service cannot be read.
    Clicking the Target URL in the DefaultServer:log leads me to the HTTP Analyser and I am able to test my AMService. It works fine.
    What's the reason for the Error message and has this something to do with my next problem?
    Problem 2:
    Copying the URL into the browser (IE7, Mozillla Firefax 3.0) shows the ... AM Servcie endpoint, but the requested parameter area is missing when the browsers language is set to German. With browser language set to english the paramters are displayed and the service can be invoked.
    What can I do, to be independent from the Language settings of the browser?
    Please help
    Thank you

    Dear,
    found the solution (after trying last 1-2 days ...).
    I was already using java 1.7 update 7.
    I had to start java settings and to deselect Java 1.7.0_07.
    Instead I selected latest Java version from Apple: 1.6.0_35-b10-428.
    With these settings the installer finishes without crash.

  • Client interface methods in application module editor get unselected

    Hello everybody,
    I have a problem with my application module client interface.
    Every time I edit source of application module methods that are exposed as a client interface, they get unselected in application module editor (they are not exposed anymore).
    Then I have to shift them from left (available) to the right (selected) manually.
    Has anyone experienced such problem?
    I'm using JDev 10.1.2.

  • BUG: Can't create BC4J Application Module Configurations

    Hello,
    I'm using JDev 9.0.3.1 with Win2K and WinXP. There seems to be a bug in the BC4J Application Module Configuration Manager:
    It seems to be impossible to create a new BC4J Application Module Configuration with the Configuration Manager of a BC4J Application Module. I can copy an existing AM configuration, but I can not rename it. Clicking on the OK Button in the Configuration Manager simply does nothing.
    A work around seems to be to open bc4j.xcfg in any text editor, copy an AppModuleConfig element, save xcfg, in JDev remove the project form the workspace, readd it to the workspace (some caching issue of jdev?). Then the new AM config is there and can be modified.
    In JDev 9.0.3 the Config Manager seems to work fine.

  • Creating ADFBC Service Interface WSDL from a standard WSDL

    Hi,
    I have a generic WSDL implemented in a SOA Suite layer. I want it to be consumed by my ADF layer without using proxy or stub classes. I was wondering, are there any best practices for doing this? I understand that I need to create the SDO's and the Service interface XSD. Apart from this, are there any specifics I need to take care of?
    I was thinking to do a simple XSL transformation between the actual business objects in the service layer create SDOs.
    Thanks,

    If what you have is a WSDL and you want to consume it as a business service in ADF, then you can just use the Web Service Data Control.

    Hi,
    there must be more in the stack trace than just that. My impression is that it cannot connect to the database. Do you use JDBC URL or JDBC data sources? Also, your approach only make sense if you don't use ADF. If you use ADF then you could access the current AM to avoid the penalty of an extra database connection

  • Best Practice - Bounded Task Flows, Regions and Nested Application Modules

    Using JDev 11.1.1.3; understand that it's generally considered good practice to just have 1 root application module servicing model content / services for each page. In our application, we've used a number of bounded task flows and page fragments deployed as af:region's into pages as either a) views targeted in page-flow navigation, b) tab panel content inside a regular jspx, or c) af:popup / af:dialog content. As it stands, we've not engaged nesting of the application modules for this embedded region content, so these regions are no doubt instantiating new AM's if/when invoked. Should the AM's servicing these embedded regions be deployed nested within the root AM's, and then if so, does this change the way that the jsff / fragment content is actually developed (currently as per any other jspx using the DataControl pallete). Or are the best-practice directives talking about a page as being the design-time / declarative composition of content rather than the run-time aggregation of page + fragments ... in which case the fact that our embedded fragments are not using nested AM's is unlikely to concern.
    Thanks,

    Probably a better question for the ADF EMG: http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology?hl=en

  • One Service Interface with SOAP (sync/async)?

    Hi experts,
    Iu2019m configuring the following scenario SOAP -> PI 7.1 -> ABAP proxies.
    My Service Interface has four different operations, 1 is sync and 3 are async. I want to use SOAP adapter as I donu2019t need to use WS-RM and WS-A of WS adapter. So, I have two SOAP communication channels (sync/async). But, when I try to create the sender agreements, PI only let me to create one, as the second has the same name Iu2019m not able to do it, it tells me that the object already exists.
    How can I create this scenario where an outbound service interface has several operations with different Quality of Service (sync/async)?
    Anyone has faced this situation before?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    When you have one interface with several operations, you need only to have one sender agreement with that interface.
    The mapping is based on operation, not on interface. You can have different receiver interfaces, or one receiver interface with several operations.
    The QoS can be added in the target URL, when you have the chance to apply different URLs based on the operation in the client.

  • Create Complex Web Service using ADF BC Service Interface

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to create a number of web services with complex data types. The data types model a logical database entity and therefore contain multiple "rows" of data.
    In the most simple example, we have an entity Person and Person Address where 1 person and have multiple person addresses. We need to create a web service that encapsulates these entities and the relationship. For example the web service payload would contain:
    +<Person>+
    --<firstname/>
    --<lastname/>
    --<dob/>
    --<sx/>
    --<address>
    ----<line1/>
    ----<line2/>
    ----<postcode/>
    ----<country/>
    --</address>
    +</person>+
    We have created ADF BC components for each entity and the relationships. Now we are attempting to use the ADF BC Service Interface functionality to expose web service methods that would create and update the underlying VO/EO/Database tables with one call (i.e. create a record in table Person and one in Person Address).
    Creating a service interface for each entity VO works fine but we require a complex service encapsulating the logical entity of Person.
    Does anyone know if this is possible with ADF BC Service functionality? Or should we be looking for alternative method of generating these web services?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • Service Interface: How to create an SDO graph with tow Objects

    Hi,
    I want to create a Web service interface on top of my application module. Using the Service Interface I select the app mod, service methods and view objects from the data model. My data model consists of a master detail relationship. The Web service should provide an interface that uses a master and its details as parameters in an operation.
    For example a customer and his credit cards. A GET-Operation should return a data structure that groups all objects.
    I do not know how I can configure such a web service.
    How can I achieve such a web service?
    Do I have to code a service method and what is the return type of the method?
    Can I work with existing VOs?
    Do I need 'special' preconditions like a composition between master and detail?
    Any idea?

    Hi Scott
    Bad news. I read several time this thread, but I have not found error in my program ... .
    And I can not see what are really doing APIs of APEX.
    Time is going - so we have make a decision now.
    Probably (as I have no more answers at this forum) - we can not use APEX (as nobody using APEX sessions as I asked),
    as we can not manage its sessions programmatically (too risky).

  • Error when generating Web Services Proxy for SCA Application Module

    I'm trying to create Web Services for a simple Application Module with JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.3.0).
