Hi,
I am not part of the Disco group, but I use it quite a bit.
On the Tools->Manage Folders-> menu, you will see a list of availiable folders. You need to share the folder by adding it to whatever business areas you wish to access it from.

  • Create custom folders with custom icons like created by Vibe

I would like to create a custom folder and sub folder in the GW folder list to link to an outside feature. Ideally, it would display in a custom pane on the right like the email list, forum plugin or calendar view.

You might want to have a look at Russ Ward's WS Utilities: http://weststreetconsulting.com/WSC_Utils.htm
ImpGraph by the late Bruce Foster also did most of this, but is no longer available.
Steve Kubis' AutoText may also provide part of the solution (custom sized Anchored Frames): see: http://www.siliconprairiesoftware.com/Products.html
You can also create custom anchored frames on your Reference pages and then copy & paste from there. Automatically scaling an imported file to properly fit would require a custom FrameScript or plug-in - FM's auto-scaling on import may distort your graphic.

  • Flashbuilder 4 how to create custom folders in component explorer

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to create my own folder in the components explorer? I know that when I create a new component it gets added under "custom", but I want to create my own folder and insert an image next to the component. I've searched everywhere and cannot find a solution. Thanks in advance!

I tried that and no go. This was the only tutorial I could find on the subject but it didn't work.

  • Looking for Opinions: custom folders vs. workbk sheet as a subquery

    Hi Everyone,
    Hope all is well....
I have in the past few months asked the Discoverer administrator to create custom folders for complex SQL situations.
Another colleague, feels that a better approach that would avoid maintenance by IT is to use the Discoverer
feature that allows you to subquery another sheet in the Discoverer workbook.
    What is your opinion?
    - which approach has better performance
    - what happens if you need many sheets for many subqueries
and if you have to join the tables anyway to get the actual field info
    would performance be slow?
tx for your ideas and opinions....
    sandra

    Hi Sandra,
First i must say that personally i do not use the sub query and this is due the implementation, we do not
use the discoverer desktop, we use the Plus and the Plus do not have this functionality
which approach has better performanceWith sub query you will not be able to tune the query while on custom folder you can examine the SQL and tune it
    to perform better.
what happens if you need many sheets for many sub querieslarge amount of sheets can cause performance issues.
You are right that it is easier to work avoiding the dependent on the IT, so my best answer is that if the results are satisfying then you can use the sub query method and where you do have lots of sheets to depend on or you got a very complex query, use the IT to create the custom folder.

  • Question - are we not able to create indexed items in custom folders?

Just a question here. I would like to use the index/Value option for parameters in a workbook. This is where the List of Values drop down box for the parameter would show both the index number and the value and let you choose to select based on the index or on the value. An obvious example of this would be with months, where you would have January (1), February (2), March (3), and so forth. To do this, you have to set up indexed items in Discoverer Administrator.
That is where I am running into a problem/issue. I am not being able to pick an item and click to look at its properties, scroll down to the Indexed Item property, click on that property, and get a list of items to pick from. On the indexed item property I see a value of <None>, and when I click on that property, no list of items pops up.
I have defined indexed items before, but that was always done on regular folders (imported from the database). In this case, I am working with a custom folder.
The SQL that I have keyed in for this custom folder is this -
    SELECT flex_value, description, flex_value_set_id, flex_value_id
    FROM fnd_flex_values_vl
    WHERE flex_value_set_id = 1011187
    ORDER BY flex_value;
FND_FLEX_VALUES_VL is an Oracle view, that combines Oracle tables FND_FLEX_VALUES and FND_FLEX_VALUES_TL.
My goal would be to show both the FLEX_VALUE and the DESCRIPTION in the parameter to the users, so they can better decide what value(s) they want to pick. This is a general ledger application that I am working with, with the General Ledger account number segments and the Flexfield value set for each segment (we are using 7 segments to define our general ledger account number).
Am I not able to define indexed items when working with a custom folder? The documentation is not real clear. It talks about simple folders and complex folders, but does not mention custom folders, at least that I can find. Or perhaps I need to do something different with how I code the SQL for the custom folder to enable me to define indexed items in the custom folder?
Hope this makes some sense. Always a challenge to explain the situation in a clear manner. Thanks for any insight/assistance anyone can give me on this.
    John Dickey

Ahh, those picky little details. Once I created an Item Class LOV on my item, then I could click on the Indexed Item property and get the list of fields in the folder to show up and pick my item (to be the indexed item) from that list. I went back to the user guides and the documentation sure does not indicate this requirement. For example, in the Discoverer Administrator guide, you have the section (page 9-30 in the version I have) titled "How to assign an indexed item to an item". Nowhere in that section does it say that you have to create an Item Class LOV first to be able to do this. Though it does show how if you do not have an LOV on the item you pick to be the indexed item, you will be prompted to create an LOV for that item. In the past I had my LOVs created first. This time I was trying to do the indexed item first before creating my LOVs. So lesson learned - you have to create an Item Class LOV first before you can assign an indexed item to an item.
    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Why have custom folders I created on my iPad vanished?

I have grouped several web pages into custom folders on one of my iPad Home Screens, but they suddenly vanished.  These are web pages for which I created icons on my Home Screen (using the built in share button).  More than one of my custom folders of these web pages has disappeared, but not all.
Can anyone suggest where they might have gone or how to retrieve them.  I am backing up to the iCloud.
    Thank you.

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it then restart your iMac.

  • How to create a UNION between two custom folders

Hi all, I have two different dataset based respectively on two custom folders: CF1 and CF2
The first custom folder (CF1) is joined with a custom folder called Groups and retrieve the amount of tickets_id which are owned by the groups.
The second custom folder (CF2) is joined with another custom folder called User and retrieve the amount of tickets_id which have been created by the users.
This two sets, as you have understood are independents and not correlated, because the two different amount of tickets_id follow two different logics....
However, now I need to have a single field called TICKET_ID which is the UNION (not UNION ALL) of all tickets_id retrieved by CF1 and CF2
I tried to use a complex folder...but it showed always two distinct fields...instead I want to merge the two dataset into a single field called TICKET_ID
Is there a way or a workaround to resolve this problem ???
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Alex

    Hi Rod, just an explanation...
I red and follow the threads you mentioned in your previous mails and I'm using the context.
    I summarized what I did
    1) I created the context and the package (with the 2 functions inside)
    2) I created on the Administrator a custom folder with the following sql:
    select vl.user_id,g.group_id
    from apps.jtf_rs_emp_dtls_vl vl,
    apps.jtf_rs_group_members_vl g
    where g.resource_id = vl.resource_id
    and (g.delete_flag = 'N' AND vl.end_date_active IS NULL)
    and g.group_id = COMPLAINTS_GET_GROUP_ID(SYS_CONTEXT('DISCO_CONTEXT','GROUP'))
where COMPLAINTS_GET_GROUP_ID is the package name which contains the 2 function SET_CONTEXT and SHOW_CONTEXT, even if I use directly the SYS_CONTEXT function....
    3) Inside my workbook I have 2 sheets and one parameter (called GROUP):
    a. inside the first sheet I created the calculated field which set the parameter value with the following code : SET_CONTEXT('GROUP',:GROUP)
    b. inside the second sheet I show the list of user_id retrieved from the select above
This mechanism works perfectly, even if the refresh of the parameters on the first sheet is mandatory to see the right data on the second one. But this works ONLY if my parameter GROUP has ONLY one value....
Now I have the necessity to pass to the select a LOV of groups !
Reading the previous threads I saw that there are two ways to solve this problem: (Re: Parameters in SubQuery
    a. - join your subquery to you list of values folder. If you have a parameter that is based on a LOV then there will be a folder that defines the LOV. You should be able to join the subquery folder to the LOV folder either in the EUL or in a custom folder and use the parameter to select from the LOV folder.
I can't use this option because inside the same custom folder I need to have a UNION of 2 different select with their separated joins
    b. use multiple parameters, so you define a fixed number of optional parameters, say, PARAM1,PARAM2,PARAM3,PARAM4 and PARAM5. Then set them in a separate workbook and then use a condition col IN (SYS_CONTEXT('NAMESPACE','PARAM1'), SYS_CONTEXT('NAMESPACE','PARAM2'), SYS_CONTEXT('NAMESPACE','PARAM3'), SYS_CONTEXT('NAMESPACE','PARAM4'), SYS_CONTEXT('NAMESPACE','PARAM5'))
This solution is very interesting but I didn't understand how to implement it (remember that I have only one parameter "GROUP" with more than on value).
How can I modify the calculation and the condition inside the select ?
    Thanks a lot

  • HT201320 Does my email service provider have to provide the ability for me to create an IMAP email account in order for me to create Sub-folders within Apple Mail?

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.

  • EUL Export errors - comments in Custom Folders

    In the spirit of sharing.
I recently had some major problems releasing a Discoverer EUL through our database release process, using the EUL Export functionality (i.e. creating an .eex file).
I have a large complex Custom Folder in the EUL, comprised of 14 large unioned select statements.
The EUL would seem to import OK into the new database, but a Workbook based on the Custom Folder continually came up with an item dependancy error.
We traced the problem back to the Custom Folder, which was invalid in the Admin Tool, and therefore not visible to the EUL Users - with a workbook based on the offending Custom Folder.
The moral of the story is DO NOT put single line comments "--" in Discoverer Custom Folder SQL queries - especially large queries. The EUL Export process will unformat your queries, and the single line comments will end up inside the valid SQL - which will invalidate it.
Only use block comments "/* Comment */" in your Custom Folders.
Hope this helps someone else save some time.

Just a note to thank u for this post. This is one of the answers I was searching for today and now I see the light!

  • "Custom" Folders in GW Client

    Hi
I haven't used the Object API or C3PO API in a while and I just wanted to enquire about folder creation in GroupWise.
1.) Is there a way to create a custom folder in the GW client that has its own icon?
I know I can create a folder using the Object API using Folders.Add() and the SOAP API using createItemRequest() or something like that.
2.) Is that folder 'local' to the GW client where a C3PO is running perhaps, or will it be available from any client including Web Access? Someone mentioned that you can create 'local' folders that are not saved back to the GroupWise message store. Is this true?
My requirement is basically this: I need to mirror the folder structure of a 3rd- party system in the GW client AND monitor the events in that folder such as new items being moved into the folders. What would be the best option? SOAP or Object API/C3PO combo approach.
    Thanks
    Johan

There is the concept of hidden folders.
It was implemented only in the Outlook connector.
It is not exposed anywhere else or in any API.
I don't believe you can assign an icon to a
    folder using a C3PO, but I haven't worked with
    C3PO's for years.
The Outlook connector logic could specify an icon.
That too is not exposed anywhere else.

  • Migrate custom folders over to database views

    Hi,
Over time one of our business areas has had a number of custom folders added.
Whilst the SQL is fine, I would like to put these into the database as views to reduce the length of SQL statements been parsed by Discoverer and hopefully reduce network traffic.
The problem is that a number of reports have been written based upon the existing custom folders.
Is there any way to refresh an existing custom folder so that it becomes a database folder, without having to reassign items in the existing reports.
Ambitious I know, but sooner or later I know I'm going to get asked the question.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Is there any way to refresh an existing custom folder so that it becomes a database folder, without having to reassign items in the existing reports. No, there isn't. But what you could try doing is delete the custom folder and then create a base folder with exactly the same name, identifier, items and joins based on the new view. Hopefully, the workbook would then find the same items in the folder.
If you cann't get that to work, you could just change the custom folder to select * from your custom view.

  • How to create repository folders to various file systems

    Hi
How to create repository folders for various filesystems, and allow the user to do access those files(checkin/checkout)
    Prasad

    Please explain further.
You can create a file system repository for each of the file systems.
The document approval workflow is a functionality which is already available withing the portal.
However, be aware that the file system repository does not support custom properties and versioning.
In that case you might want to use a CM respository in the FSDB mode which lets you store metadata on the portal and the actual files on the file server.

is it possible to append a custom program to create additional folders in /userhome/<userid>/ when this folder is created (at first userlogin)?

    hi
yes but not advised because it is advised to create folders manually and make corresponding changes to PCD startup.properties files and restart the server  .hope this   helps you just give search and find PCDstartup.properties file in usr directory and see transport related properties and also u can create folders inside KM repository using KM api.

  • Creating Custom Properties

    Hello,
I have to create custom properties for a folder. I created it through Property metadata. But it is not reflecting in the folder properties. What should I do to reflect it in folder custom properties? Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Rukmani

    Hi,
if your custom property is visible for resources and not for folders you should redefine the validity scope for that property - see <b>Folder Validity Patterns</b> in: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1a/9a4a3b80f2ec40aa7456bc87a94259/content.htm">Predefined Properties</a>
If this is done and the property is not visible, you should add your property to a <b>Property Structure</b>. See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3d/51812c9ba14f4fa104fe3971d5507b/frameset.htm">Property Structures</a> for more info.

  • Custom Folders in Exchange 2013

    Hi-
Is there a way to push out additional standard folders to each Exchange 2013 mailbox?  If I wanted each user to have a 5 year, 3 year, and 1 year folder, is this possible?  Is there some type of script?  Someone mentioned to me that there
is a .NET app that uses built-in Exchange functionality to deploy folders to user’s Exchange mailboxes--an "Exchange Folder Generator."
    Thank you-
    John

    Hi John,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create the following custom folders for Exchange 2013 mailbox:
    1 year folder: All items received 1 years ago;
    3 years folder: All items received 3 years ago;
    5 years folder: All items received 5 years ago;
    Is it right?
If that is the case, I think there is no feature in Exchange to achieve it.
As a workaround, we can consider Ed’s suggestion to create retention policy. The retention tag
specifies how long a message remains in a mailbox and the action to be taken when the message reaches the specified retention age.
Please note that when a message reaches its retention age, it's moved to the user’s In-Place Archive or deleted instead of being moved to another custom folders.
