'serious error' when creating a new project in adobe premiere elements 10

Hello,
I saw similar questions on the forums but not quite what is happening with me.
First off I should say i've never had this working however the copy of premiere elements 7 we had worked perfectly fine. I am a technician in a school and i'm trying to install the software for the students (we have lots of lisences). The software appears to install perfectly fine and the launcher works. I click to create a new project (or open an old one) premiere appears to load up correctly. It only crashes once I click to browse for a location to save the file.
The error message says, as i've noticed seems to be a generic message for any error on premiere: "Sorry, A serious error has occured that has caused Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
At first I thought this was student user rights (as students do not have access to C:\) however I have since tried it with my own admin account which has full rights and effectively should be able to do anything and it still continues to crash.

Error creating a new module in OWB

Hi All,
I am getting an error while creating a new module using OWB. We are using 11.2. Any Inputs are greatly appreciated. Has any body experienced this problem.

I think there are some connectors that point to locations that do not exist any more. If you expand the locations in the location navigator and check the connectors under the location in the tree, there will be some that are no longer valid.

When a stack overflow occurs, the amount of stack space required by the program exceeds what is configured for the stack in the Java™ virtual machine (JVM™) /jdk process.
So just to give a try, increase the heap size in odiparams.bat file.
set ODI_INIT_HEAP=64m
set ODI_MAX_HEAP=512m
Also, make sure that your server/system is capable of allocating the setted space for ODI to run.

When I create a new Project, system appear:

Message no. KD023
Diagnosis
There is no settlement rule for object PD00000035.

Please enter an object for which there is a settlement rule."

Maintain settlement rule for the object. It seems as per the settlement profile, settlement is mandatory.
Select object in CJ20N and press CTRL+F3...maintain the distribution rule.

Stackoverflow error when creating a new project

Hi,
When I tried to create a new project, I got a java.lang.StackOverflowError.
I did try to increase the heap size in odiparams.bat but didn't work:
set ODI_INIT_HEAP=64m
set ODI_MAX_HEAP=512m
I also tried both jre 1.4.2 and jdk1.5.0_06. Both got same error. I
m using windows XP Professional version, SP3.
What could be the problem?

Hi,
I am also facing the similar issue. I have carried out the steps as per your suggestion. I can now create a project but after ODI throwing the same error (or sometimes java.lang.reflect.invocationtargetexception).
One thing I have noticed is when I login as Supervisor, there is no issue. The other user created has CONNECT, DESIGNER and OPERATOR profiles.
Am I missing out something?

What it is not seeming to like is the spaces between the words 'Base' Table' and 'Maintenance' in my project destination path. If I take these spaces out, I can create the project without a problem
The frustrating thing is, in the past, I have created projects in this same directory as well as other directories with spaces, but now I can't seem to anymore! I can't change the directory names very easily, our project structure is already set up, everyone else on the project is working with it and not seeming to have a problem. Is there an option somewhere that says 'don't get freaked out by the spaces, just create anyway'? Or is it something else that is wrong? Taking out the spaces seems to fix it, though I'd prefer another solution so I don't have to restructure and rename all of the directories we have already created.

Unable to import .doc or PDF documents to create a new project

When trying to import a WORD document into RH 6.0 to create a
new project, I am only able to proceed up to the Improt Word
Document Wizard dialog "Covnersion Options". Clicking Next leads
the program to start the import, however after a few seconds I get
a message telling me that MS Word seems to not be responding.
I alsow am unable to import PDF files. Here RH claims that
the file type is is not supported or that the file is corrupted.
I would really appreciate if somebody could explain to me
what the problem is and how to troubleshoot it.

Create new project and serious error occurs...

If I attempt to create a new project at any time during Premiere Pros operation the program gives me a 'serious error' message and does not respond which leads to a crash.
I am running Premiere Pro CS6 on Windows 7 Professional.

The "serious error" message is far to generic for troubleshooting purposes. Jim posted that link because the crash info that samsandwich provided reports "Exception code: 0xc0000005."
With crashes on launch that start happening after the program has been running successfully, the first thing I'd recommend is to clear the preferences. They sometimes get corrupted such that they keep the program from launching. Here's an article explaining how to clear prefs: http://www.larryjordan.biz/premiere-trash-preferences/

When importing iPad photos into Aperture, I cannot import into an existing album, only create a new project.

I dont want to create a new project for every group of photos being brought over from my iPad. My iPhone worked perfectly. I was able to choose which project/album I could import into, why would the iPad, running the same iOS, be any different?

That's a loaded question. It's not "yes or no" according to exactly how you asked it.
You do not have to create a new project for each import, but every picture lives in exactly 1 project. You can then point to any photo from any number of albums. You cannot put a photo directly into an album because an album does not contain photos, it only contains "pointers" to photos.
So, you, as the user, have the ability to put your imports into an existing project. Why are you creating a new project every time?

It is working for me. Two ways to import into an existing project:
Select a project and view it in the browser in split view. If you drag image files from a folder directly into the filmstrip, the dragged image files will be added to that project.
Or select a project in the library, before you open the Import panel. Then you can switch the destination project in the Import Settings from "new Project" to the selected project.
Have you tried these methods? Where does it not work for you?

When i create a new project, my application cannot find textLayout_1.0.595, is this a bug??

hey guys, so this is the second time this has happened, im not sure what i did the first time to fix the error but when i create a new project and create a textinput box in there, i get the following error,

I get the same error. This isn't something you should have to update a policy file for - it seems like a flash builder error in the way it generates the library swf. The steps I took were:
- create a new application
- type some basic demo app code or paste in code. In my situation I pasted in some charting examples from the docs (appended to the end)
- click "run"
- the error appears:

Captivate 5 crashes when creating a new project

I have captivate 5 installed on my laptop (2.53GHZ, Vista, 2 GB ram). When I try to create a new project from powerpoint, the software crashes with the following error:
