Creating navigation button for an iWeb websites

I have a website I created using the hosting company's templates. I'd like to create a new website using iWeb. Regarding the basic navigation buttons, there is one button that will say, "Services" that should bring you to the main services page and also give you the option to click on a series of services. In other words, the buttons for the individual servcies should appear when you click on the mains service button. Is this possible and if so how?
BTW, I have read that there is a new version of iLife coming out soon. Does anyone know when?
Thanks,
Bob

in your main timeline's first frame add your button and in the properties panel assign an instance name (eg, btn) and use:
stop();
btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,f);
function f(e:Event):void{
play();

  • How do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?

Well that's the question - how do I create an email list sign up form for my iWeb website?
Could someone tell me what's the simplest way using iWeb to create an interactive option
for users to enter their email address and the info be forwarded to me so I can add to an
    email list?
It would be great if, since I'm using a Mac computer & iWeb, there was a way to have the
submitted emails automatically added to a group in my Mac Addressbook.
I got this MacBook Pro in Sept 2010 so I believe that's iWeb '08 I'm using.
Anyway I'm thinking there should be a way to do this with some system involving an HTMK
    Widget and an email account.
By the way this is for hosting through a 'real server', not MobileMe (which I plan to get later
    when I can afford it).
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Mark

Website forms require some code in a snippet and a formmail.php script on the server to process the form and send the info to the required email address. You can do all this when you switch to a "real" server.
In the meantime you can use a form  or marketing service or, better still, an application like MailShoot which generates the form, handles the database and sends out the bulk emails.

  • Is it possible to create custom buttons for quizzes in Adobe Presenter?

My company is not happy with the quiz buttons in Adobe Presenter and I was wondering if it is possibe to create custom buttons for quizzes and use them as defaults. Like you can do in Captivate.  I'm using Adobe Presenter 8 in Windows 7.

    Hi,
Do you want to change the appearance and position of buttons ?
    or
Do you want to change the action when the button is pressed ?

  • Adding Navigation Buttons for Users of PDF Documents

The default for Acrobat Reader (and even the Pro version)
seems to leave the Forward and Back navigation buttons OFF the
Acrobat Reader tool bar. You have to deliberately go into the Tools
    - Customize Tools menu and turn on these two buttons in order for
them to appear in the tool bar. This creates problems for readers
of your PDF documents if the readers of your documents aren't very
computer savy. If you have links in your PDF document so readers
can navigate around, not having the Forward and Back buttons up on
the tool bar as a default makes these links almost useless. The
reader has to know how to turn these two buttons on and some
readers may not have a clue how to do that.
My question: Is there a way to put 2 navigation buttons on a
reader's toolbar AUTOMATICALLY when they open your document--ie,
something embedded in the PDF doc that automatically turns these
buttons on for the reader so they don't have to do it
    themselves?

  • Creating Photoshop buttons for motion menus and photoshop menus

Hi I need to create buttons in photoshop for both a photoshop menu and a motion menu on DVD studio pro program
Can someone tell me how to do it on both different menus?
I really need some DETAILS on how to do it. Thanks for your time and responses ahead of time

OK, here's what I recommend you try...
Create the footage for your motion menu background. In that footage fade in the button shapes and text for the buttons exactly as you want them to appear. Hold the final position of these buttons for at least 30 seconds. save an image of the still portion to act as a guide in photoshop. Encode that footage to MPEG2 using Compressor and import it in to DVDSP.
Take the still image in to photoshop and add a single layer to the file. On the new layer, create a shape of some kind (an underline, tick, circle, cross, box around, arrow, etc) next to the background button text. Make these shapes (for each piece of background text) black, and leave the rest of the layer white. Hide or delete the background layer and save the result as a .pict image. Import it in to DVDSP.
Take the motion footage and drop it in to a menu. use the loop point in the property inspector to define where the 'still' portion of that footage begins. Now drag the .pict overlay image in to the same menu, but hold it a second until the contextual menu appears... set it as the overlay. Drag out button rectangles around the background text and position for the shapes in the overlay. Make sure the rectangles don't overlap, and set up the target for these buttons as well as the navigation between them.
Use the property inspector to adjust the colours for the overlay - set it to be a simple overlay and in grayscale. What should happen is that when the menu plays the animated sequence starts first but as soon as the loop point is reached the overlay becomes active. The first button defined will be set as selected. You should now see the menu with the buttons faded in to position and the buttons should be clickable.
When returning to this menu you may not want the viewer to sit through the animated sequence each time. Use a script (in DVDSP4) to specify that they return to the loop point only (the bit where the buttons are) or create a second menu that is identical to the loop point and send the viewer there instead.
As you can see, there are several steps involved and I have made assumptions that you know something about menus and constructing buttons. It is all in the manual, but you will need to be familiar with Photoshop (or whatever image editor you prefer) to do this properly.
You do not need to try to make four layer shapes and bring them in to the menu, and if you attempt to add anything else from the templates panel to this menu then the image quality will suffer as DVDSP builds the disc. If you do want to add other shapes and text to the menu then don't do the export to MPEG2... keep it as a simple QT .mov file.
Please let us know how you get on after trying this method, and after reading up on those manuals

Have a look at: Toggle Shape buttons - Captivate 6 - Captivate blog
Replace the system variable cpCmndMute by cpCmndCC and you'll have the choice between different scenarios.

  • Navigation buttons freeze with some websites

I lately started to get the navigation buttons (previous, next, reload) to stop working with some sites. I started to get this problem in FF 3.6 a couple of weeks ago, and after I upgraded to FF 4.0.
It does not have a rule when to happen or in which sites. It normally occurs at least once a day (currently in this Mozilla support site while I'm writing). I'm on Windows 7 (suffered the same problem in two different machines).
    Any Ideas?

I think I knew the cause of this problem; it's McAfee SiteAdvisor, which I depend on to surf the net safely.
I looked for this problem in McAfee site, and they blame Firefox for it.
In fact, this problem doesn't occur in IE (where the SA is also installed), so it can be an issue for both FF and SiteAdvisor.
So until this problem is solved, is there any workaround?

  • Creating a button for inserting into a table

What I can't do, because I've never needed to, is to create in a page (where I have a Interactive report) a button that when is clicked performs a simple sql (for example an insert into a table using some page item values).
    How can I do it?
    Thanks

Here are some of the steps:
    1) Create the button.
    2) Then right click on the button name and select Create Dynamic Action
    3) Give the DA a name, click next
    4) On the "When" Step, Event should already be "Click" and the button name should be filled in
    5) For Condition, you would have a condition for when you want the button display.  Say, if your page items have a certain range of values then display this button.  No condition means the button is always displayed.
    6) For the "True Action" Step, for Action select "Execute PL/SQL Code"
[There are other ways to do this, but this is straight-forward for me.]
    7) The in the PL/SQL Code block enter say:
    Begin
INSERT INTO EMP (EMPNO, ENAME, HIREDATE)
              VALUES (:P6_EMPNO, 'MARK1970', :P6_HIREDATE);
      COMMIT;
END;   --- You would likely make them all page item variables
    8) Here the part I'm not 100% sure of.
For "Page Items to Submit", name the page items used in YOUR QUERY -- in my example these are  P6_EMPNO,P6_HIREDATE   (Note no use of & or : or . here)
Hmm.  Start by putting nothing in the "Page Items to Return".   If that fails, then try the same page items  P6_EMPNO,P6_HIREDATE there as well.
[ I'm too lazy to go run this down at the moment.]
    9) I think that's it.

  • Create new buttons for photos

I'm wondering how I can create a button to link to photo page instead of multiple photo pages on the top nav. bar. I just want all albums on welcome page to link to photo page..How can I do that?
    Thanks!

If you are on iOS 5 and it's an IMAP based email account then you should get an Edit button at the top of the list of your current folders on your email account - if you aren't on iOS 5 or if the account is POP based then you won't get the Edit button.
Similarly for photos, if you are on iOS 5 then you should get an Edit button at the top right of the Album selection screen in the Photos app which allows you to create new albums and copy (not move) photos into - and if you delete the original photo then if will also be removed from all albums that you've 'copied' it into.
If the iPod Touch is also on iOS 5 then I think that you will get the same options (though I'm not 100% sure)

  • How to Create a Button for Reader Users to Save XML Data File?

The "Submit via Email" tries to launching the local email software, like outlook express. But public computer tends to use internet emails.
I am thinking of creating a button, allowing the reader users to save xml data filled in the form (same as the "submit via email" produces) somewhere.
    anyone has a clue?
    Thanks a lot!

You could create the shortcut at one machine, then copy it to the target as part of the logon script. Note also that this line contains an error:
    "C:\Users\%userprofile%\Desktop\Org_chart_test.lnk"
    It should read:
    "%userprofile%\Desktop\Org_chart_test.lnk"

  • How to disable navigator buttons for editable rowset

    Hi All!
Is it possible easily to disable delete button for editable rowset?

    Hello Francois,
Thank you for your fast reply!
I tried your recommendation, but got the following result:
When I have a label of "& OK" with the blank symbol as ALT-255, the Button in the Alert Box still has the focus. It seems as if there now is a blank in front of the OK (which is underlined). This does not really solve my issue, because the Button still has the focus and that should not be. The best solution for the user would be if he only could accept the message with a mouse klick.
    Is there an other suggestion?
    Thank you so much!

  • Help creating a site-map for my iweb website

    Hello,
I was able to list my site with google, no problem. However, following the instructions below to verify didn't work. #1- text edit has no choice for a simple text file. #2 - my mac will not allow me to save any kind of file except html file ending with html. #3 - I've tried using word and no matter what kind of save I attempt to save the google file name, I keep getting the same message, which is -> Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.
And the site map thing is simply over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks ---- Roy
Here's what I want you to do... your going to register with Google, submit your site for verification, and then make and submit a sitemap for your site. Okay? Here goes...
Go to this page and login or register for a Google account... http://www.google.com/webmasters/
This opens up a lot of tools to see how your site is doing. I have already confirmed that Google has none of your pages in its index using the Site Status Wizard.
Once registered, click on "Webmaster Tools" and then enter your iWeb URL under "Add Site". I want you to type in your iWeb URL like this: http://web.mac.com/jlutz/iWeb/
Click OK. Congratulations, your site is registered with Google. Now onto verifying that it is your site...
Click on "Verify" next to your registered URL. You'll be presented with a choice of verification methods. Choose "Upload an HTML file". Google will give you the filename to use, like "googlef429021c837438ca.html" All you have to do is to create a blank file with TextEdit. Save it to your desktop as a plain text file. Then rename it with the filename that Google gave you (yes you want to use the .html extension in case you are asked). Then just copy this file to your iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/ folder. That's it.
Click Verify...you should get verified immediately. Congratulations.

    simon4423,

The error you are seeing (We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.) is something I have noticed on and off with my .Mac sites lately too. It used to work fine, but now sometimes .Mac verifies, sometimes it doesn't. Try both verification methods and see if one works over the other. If you are still having trouble, I know Max (
http://karreth.com) is really good at this stuff so you might try emailing him about it.

  • Override navigation buttons for branching slides?

    Hello,
I'm developing a lesson in Captivate 5.5 that uses a navigation bar throughout (forward/back arrows, progress bar, etc.); however, I created a branching activity in which I don't want users to be able to navigate using the forward/back arrows. Is it possible to override the navigation bar on individual slides, or is there an Advanced Action that I can create in order to accomplish this?
The issue is that the activity is branching, but not locked; in other words, learners can get halfway into the activity and decide to jump out and continue on with the lesson. If they do this, when they click the forward arrow they'll have to view all remaining slides in the activity before reaching the true "next" slide in the lesson. I've created custom "continue with lesson" buttons, but the issue with the forward/back button being active still remains...
    Any thoughts are much appreciated!

    Hello,
Is this on of the Captivate playbars? There is a system variable cpCmndShowPlaybar. Its default value = 1, which means the playbar is visible. You can set it to 0 on entering the slide where it should be hidden, and again set it to 1 where to display. No need for an advanced action, this system variable is available in the dropdown list in the Action accordion of the Slide properties. Choose Assign as action for On Enter, then from the dropdown list select the system variable
