Creating nodes in execution time

I'm trying to create a node in response to certain events, like that:
Stage {
    title: "Application title"
    scene: Scene {
        width: 500, height: 200
        content: [
            Button {
                text: "Button"
                action: function() {
                    Circle {
                        radius: 40
                        fill: Color.BLACK
}But the circle doesn't appear, because I guess the circle needs to link to the scene, isn't it?
Then, do I need to indicate in the scene all the posibles nodes that it can be exist??
I'm a little confused about this thing. I'll appreciate any help. :)

As JavaFX is translated to Java and doesn't have primitive types, which are the only value types in Java platform, thus leaving only the reference types, we can assume FX variables hold a reference to the object and not the object itself (as any Java class variable).
When two or more variables are binded, they will always share the same reference. It looks like a compiler "trick", the binded variables become aliases to a common variable which actually holds the reference to the real object. Simillar to the C++ references, declared by putting an ampersand (&) before the variable name.
Botton line is that the objects themselves are not copied because it would be computationally very expensive. But also I can't accurately answer your question because there are several algorithms for heap management and several bytecodes translations for a single chunk of JavaFx source code
I can only tell you what happens in language semantics, as for memory usage and CPU usage it will depend on the implementation and even on the device.
The performance and memory usage differences between the approaches in the three examples provided is negligible. What affects the performance is the number of nodes, the depth level of the content tree and also the management algorithm that each container use.
But using containers is very useful because they can efficiently handle resizing and positioning of the nodes thus improving aesthetics, decreasing development time and helping the creation of dynamically generated scenes or forms.

  • CREATE TABLE/INDEX execution times

    Hello,
    what are my options to optimize table and/or index creation times?
    I have a script that creates something around 60 000 objects (maybe half index, half table) and while each operation takes no more than a second, this will result in a 17 hour execution time. So I'm looking for ways to decrease table creation by a fraction of a second :-/
    What I can think of is that all of these operations end up writing to the same datafile (e.g. SYSTEM01.DBF), could it do any good to divide the system tablespace into more data files? Adding a datafile would only increase the quota, so I would have to regroup the data?
    Or can I increase the number of redologs? Or temporarily add larger redolog files?
    Here is an extract to demonstrate:

    Hi,
    See bellow. You can create deferred segment creation option of Oracle. Oracle will not spend time on extent allocation and can save you enormous amount of time overall.
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/segment-creation-on-demand-11gr2.php
    What I can think of is that all of these operations end up writing to the same datafile (e.g. SYSTEM01.DBF), could it do any good to divide the system tablespace into more data files? >Adding a datafile would only increase the quota, so I would have to regroup the data?Why giving example of SYSTEM01.DBF? You should not be using system tablespace. Having multiple datafiles will not be helping you.
    What do you mean by regroup of data?

  • DAQmX create virtual channel execution time

    Hi,
    I am using DAQmX Create Virtual Channel for 70 different Digital Output. It took 35 seconds to execute the DAQmX Create Viryual Channel VI.

  • Execution time for Call Library Function Node

    I am experimenting with the Call Library Function Node block in LabVIEW and am curious if it should be running faster than what I'm seeing.  For testing purposes, I have compiled and transfered to my RT target the .out file from the KB article http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/81D1172E3C28A5E4862575CC0076A230 (I'm using the vxworks 6.1 version).  The function in the .out file just multiplies two inputs together, adds a constant, and returns the result.  I have put this inside a 1 kHz timed loop with a commanded period of 1 ms and via the Ticks(ms) block and shift registers I calculate the amount of time per loop execution.  This process is apparently taking 5 ms per cycle and to me that seems slow.  Is that roughly the correct execution time for this kind of setup?  I will attach my test .vi file.
    What I'm using:
    Windows 7
    LabVIEW 2009 SP1
    NI-cRIO 9024 with NI-RIO 3.4.0

    First off, the way you are doing timing isn't necessarily accurate because you don't know when the tick count VI is being called. For example, if it gets called on one iteration after your call library node executes, and the next iteration it gets called before the CLFN it executes, the subtraction doesn't include the call of the CLFN so you aren't seeing the true time it is taking for the dll to be called.
    Where it says "error" on the top left hand corner of your loop. left click and choose previous iteration timing. Also, do you have the ability to choose a 1 Mhz clock? Are you sure it's actually being run on the RT and not on your PC? Running it on the PC would definitely make it difficult to execute at a 1 kHz rate.

  • How to find out the execution time of a sql inside a function

    Hi All,
    I am writing one function. There is only one IN parameter. In that parameter, i will pass one SQL select statement. And I want the function to return the exact execution time of that SQL statement.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION function_name (p_sql IN VARCHAR2)
    RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    exec_time NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    --Calculate the execution time for the incoming sql statement.
    RETURN exec_time;
    END function_name;
    /

    Please note that wrapping query in a "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM (<query>)" doesn't necessarily reflect the execution time of the stand-alone query because the optimizer is smart and might choose a completely different execution plan for that query.
    A simple test case shows the potential difference of work performed by the database:

  • Need to know how to find the last execution time for a function module

    HI all
    I need to know
    1) How to find out the last execution time of the function module ?
      say for eg. I have executed a func. module at 1:39pm. How to retrieve this time  (1:39pm)
    2) I have created 3 billing document in tcode VF01 i.e 3 billing doucment no. would be created in SAP TABLE "VBRP" b/w 12am to 12:30 am.
    How to capture the latest SAP database update b/w time intervals?
    3) Suppose I am downloading TXT file using "GUI_DOWNLOAD" and say in 20th record some error has happened. I can capture the error using the exception.
    Is it possible to run the program once again from 21st records ? All this will be running in background...
    Kindly clarify....
    Points will be rewarded
    Thanks in advance

    1.Use tcode STAT input as Tcode of Fm and execute .
    2. See the billing documents are created in table VBRk header and there will always be Creation date and time.
    VBRk-Erdat "date ., u can check the time field also
    So now if u talk the date and time we can filter then display the records in intervals.
    3. with an error exeption how is my txt download finished .
    once exception is raised there will not be a download .

    I think you are using for all entries statement in almost all select statements but i didnt see any condtion before you are using for all entries statement.
    If you are using for all entries in gt_opbal ... make sure that gt_opbal has some records other wise it will try to read all records from the data base tables.
    Try to check before using for all entries in the select statement like
    if gt_opbal is not initial.
    select adfda adfadf afdadf into table
      for all entries in gt_opbal.
    else.
    select abdf afad into table
    from abcd
    where a = 1
        and b = 2.
    endif.
    i didnt see anything wrong in your report but this is major time consuming when you dont have records in the table which you are using for all entries.

    Hi,
    Try to remove the join. Use seperate selects as shown in example below and for the sake of selection, keep some key fields in your internal table.
    Then once your final table is created, you can copy the table into GT_FINAL which will contain only fields you need.
    EX
    data : begin of it_likp occurs 0,
             vbeln like likp-vbeln,
             /bshm/le_nr_cust like likp-/bshm/le_nr_cust,
             vkorg like likp-vkorg,
             werks like likp-werks,
             kunnr likr likp-kunnr,
           end of it_likp.
    data : begin of it_kna1 occurs 0,
           kunnr like...
           regio....
           land1...
          end  of it_kna1 occurs 0,
    Select tknum stabf shtyp route vsart signi dtabf
    from VTTP
    into table gt_result
    WHERE tknum IN s_tknum AND
          tplst IN s_tplst AND
          route IN s_route AND
          erdat BETWEEN s_erdat-low AND s_erdat-high.
    select vbeln /bshm/le_nr_cust
           vkorg werks kunnr
           from likp
           into table it_likp
           for all entries in gt_result
           where vbeln = gt_result-vbeln.
    select kunnr
           regio
           land1
           from kna1
           into it_kna1
           for all entries in it_likp.
    similarly for other tables.
    Then loop at gt result and read corresponding table and populate entire record :
    loop at gt_result.
    read table it_likp where vbeln = gt_result-vbeln.
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
      move corresponding fields of it_likp into gt_result.
      gt_result-kunnr = it_likp-kunnr.
      modify gt_result.
    endif.
    read table it_kna1 where kunnr = gt_result-vbeln.
    if sy-subrc eq 0.
      gt_result-regio = it-kna1-regio.
      gt_result-land1 = it-kna1-land1.
      modify gt_result.
    endif.
    endloop.

  • Query execution time

    Dear SCN,
    I am new to BOBJ Environment. I have created a webi report on top of bex query by using BISC connection. Bex query is build for Vendor Ageing Analysis. My bex query will take very less time to execute the report (max 1 min). But in case of webi is takeing around 5 min when i click on refresh. I have not used any conditions,filters,restrictions are done at webi level all are done at bex level only.
    Please let me know techniques to optimize the query execution time in webi. Currently we are in BO 4.0.

  • Why the execution time increases with a while loop, but not with "Run continuously" ?

    Hi all,
    I have a serious time problem that I don't know how to solve because I don't know exactly where it comes from.
    I command two RF switches via a DAQ card (NI USB-6008). Only one position at the same time can be selected on each switch. Basically, the VI created for this functionnality (by a co-worker) resets all the DAQ outputs, and then activates the desired ones. It has three inputs, two simp0le string controls, and an array of cluster, which contains the list of all the outputs and some informations to know what is connected (specific to my application).
    I use this VI in a complex application, and I get some problems with the execution time, which increased each time I callled the VI, so I made a test VI (TimeTesting.vi) to figure out where the problem came from. In this special VI I record the execution time in a csv file to analyse then with excel.
    After several tests, I found that if I run this test VI with the while loop, the execution time increases at each cycle, but if I remove the while loop and use the "Run continuously" funtionnality, the execution time remains the same. In my top level application I have while loops and events, and so the execution time increases too.
    Could someone explain me why the execution time increases, and how can I avoid that? I attached my test VI and the necessary subVIs, as well as a picture of a graph which shows the execution time with a while loop and with the "run continuously".
    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Thank you very much for your help! I added the "Clear task" vi and now it works properly.
    If you are still using the RUn Continuously you should stop. That is meant strictly for debugging. In fact, I can't even tell you the last time I ever used it. If you want your code to repeat you should use loops and control the behavior of the code.

  • Execution Time Issue

    Help Please!!!
    I've been searching for an execution time issue in our application for a while now. Here is some background on the application:
    Collects analog data from a cDAQ chassis with a 9205 at 5kHz
    Data is collected in 100ms chunks
    Some of the data is saved directly to a TDMS file while the rest is averaged for a single data point. That single data point is saved to disk in a text file every 200ms.
    Problem: During operation, the VI that writes the data to the text file will periodically take many hundreds of milliseconds to execute. Normal operation execution times are on the order of 1ms or less. This issue will happen randomly during operation. It's usually many seconds between times that this occurs and it doesn't seem to have any pattern to when the event happens.
    Attached is a screenshot of the VI in question. The timing check labeled "A" is the one that will show the troubling execution time. All the other timing checks show 0ms every time this issue occurs. I simply can't see what else is holding this thing up. The only unchecked subVI is the "append error call chain" call. I've gone through the heirarchy of that VI and ensured that everything is set for reentrant execution. I will check that too soon, but I really don't expect to find anything.
    Where else can I look for where the time went? It doesn't seem to make sense.
    Thanks for reading!

    You should probably increase how much data you write with a single Write to Text File.  Move the Write to Text File out of the FOR loop.  Just have the data to be written autoindex to create an array of strings.  The Write to Text File will accept the array of strings directly, writing a single line for each element in the arry.
    Another idea I am having is to use another loop (yes another queue as well) for the writing of the file.  But you put the Dequeue Element inside of another WHILE loop.  On the first iteration of this inside loop, set the timeout to something normal or -1 for wait forever.  Any further iteration should have a timeout of 0.  You do this with a shift register.  Autoindex the read strings out of the loop.  This array goes straight into the Write to Text File.  This way you can quickly catch up when your file write takes a long time.
    NOTE:  This is just a very quick example I put together. It is far from a complete idea, but it shows the general idea I was having with reading the queue.

  • Execution Times of Stored Procedures Called from Other Stored Procedures

    If I execute sys.dm_exec_procedure_stats, it will produce execution times of my stored procedures executed recently.
    However, stored procedures called from other stored procedures do not show up.

    Look at the example. It is counting nested execution.

    Hi,
    My procedure is taking time on
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 is 14 min.
    same procedure is taking time on oracle Release 9.2.0.1.0 is 1 min.
    1) Data is same in both environment.
    2) Number of records are same 485 rows for cursor select statement.
    3)Please guide me how to reduce the time in oracle 10g for procedure?
    i have checked the explain plan for that cursor query it is different in both enviroment.
    so i have analysis that procedure is taking time on cursor fetch into statement in oracle 10g.
    example:-
    create or replace procedure myproc
    CURSOR cur_list
    IS select num
    from tbl
    where exist(select.......
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET SQL_TRACE = TRUE';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET TIMED_STATISTICS = TRUE';
    OPEN cur_list;
    LOOP
    FETCH cur_list INTO cur_list; -----My procedure is taking time in this statement only for some list number. there are 485 list number.
    end loop;
    TRACE file for oracle 10g is look like this:-
    call count cpu elapsed disk query current rows
    Parse 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
    Execute 1 0.37 0.46 0 2 0 0

    Additional you should check how many values you have in your table for the specific column values.
    The following select might be helful for that.
    select count(*)  "total_count"
           ,count(case when A1=123 then 1 end) "A1_count"
           ,count(case when A1=123 and A2=456 then 1 end) "A1andA2_count"
    from TB_test;Share your output of this.
    I expect the value for A1_count still to be high. But the value for A1+A2_count relatively low.
    However 5 minutes is far to long for such a small table. Even if you run it on a laptop.
    There must be a reason why it is that slow.
    First thing to consider would be to update your statistics for the table and the index.
    Second thing could be that the table is very sparsly fillled. Meaning, if you frequently delete records from this table and load new data using APPEND hint, then the table will grow, because the free space from the deletes is never reused. Any table access in the execution plan, will be slower then needed.
    A similar thing can happen, if many updates on previously empty columns are made on a table (row chaining problem).
    So if you explain a little, how this table is filled and used, we could recognize a typical pattern that leads to performance issues.
