Dear Dimitar Dimitrov,
I managed to get the selected value as code using following technique
<af:selectOneChoice value="#{param['IncomingSrNo']}"
required="#{bindings.EMAIL_TEMPLATE_LOV_VO11.hints.mandatory}"
shortDesc="#{bindings.EMAIL_TEMPLATE_LOV_VO11.hints.tooltip}"
id="soc1" simple="true"
valueChangeListener="#{backingBeanScope.generate_backing.templateSelected}"
autoSubmit="true">
<f:selectItem id="select" itemLabel="<-Select->"
itemValue="-1"/>
<af:forEach var="row" items="#{bindings.EMAIL_TEMPLATE_LOV_VO1Iterator.allRowsInRange}">
<f:selectItem itemValue="#{row.attributeValues[0]}" itemLabel="#{row.attributeValues[1]}"/>
</af:forEach>
</af:selectOneChoice>

    how to do this?
    plz help...

    Hi Frank,
    This is the method i wrote in the managed Bean. It works when I hard code the department value to some value(like 10).
    public List<SelectItem> getEmployeeList() {
    int Deptid = 10;
    ArrayList<SelectItem> employees = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();
    employees.add(new SelectItem("0", "--Select Employee---"));
    try {
    Connection con = getConnection();
    PreparedStatement ps =
    con.prepareStatement("select name from employees where department_id = ?");
    ps.setInt(1, Deptid);
    ResultSet rs = ps.executeQuery();
    while (rs.next()) {
    employees.add(new SelectItem(rs.getString("name")));
    rs.close();
    ps.close();
    con.close();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
    return employees;
    How can I pass the row Department Id to this method in the f:selectItems?
    I really appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

  • Create a LOV for parameters in development tools

    Hi,
    I found a way to create a LOV for a parameter using PL/SQL developer.
    The code is as followed:
    select * from account_hier t
    where t.level_a LIKE &<name="Level A"
    hint="Level A"
    type="string"
    default="%"
    ifempty="%"
    list="select distinct level_a,level_a from account_hier"
    description="yes"
    >
    and t.level_b LIKE &<name="Level B"
    hint="Level B"
    type="string"
    default="%"
    ifempty="%"
    list="select distinct level_b,level_b from account_hier where level_a = :level_a"
    description="yes"

    It works beautifully but my question is whether something like this can be applied using TOAD (I'm using 9.7.2).
    How can I define a LOV for the parameters in the parameters window?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    How are we supposed to know a) what your code is actually doing and
    When running this code in PL/SQL developer when the parameters will popup for population you'll see that there is a list of values for the parameters.I (and many others of us) don't have PL/SQL developer. It's a 3rd party tool, not part of Oracle. Therefore we can't run the code to see what it does.
    b) how to achieve that on some other 3rd party tool?
    That's exactly my question, How can (if at all) I do the same with TOAD ?Based on your description, I'm not sure if TOAD supports such things. It sounds like something specific to PL/SQL developer.
    LOV's are not something in SQL or PL/SQL, so your question does not make sense.If you'll create similer code than you'll understand that LOV can be defined in PL/SQL developer tool in the SQL editor.Only if we have PL/SQL developer. Which we don't.
    To make it easier try to run the following code:
    select 'Example' from dual
    where 'field11' LIKE &<name="LOV A"
    hint="Choose a value for field1"
    type="string"
    default="field11"
    ifempty="field11"
    list="select distinct 'field11','field11' from dual union all select distinct 'field12','field12' from dual"
    description="yes"
    *>*
    *;*I can't.
    To clarify my question once more:
    If a sql is running under TOAD and that code have parameters the parameters window will pop once the code is executed.
    I would like to know whether I can define a LOV for the parameters.I've never come across this in TOAD.

  • How to create a LOV for a parameter in a Discoverer workbook

    How can I create a LOV's for a parameter in a Discoverer Workbook?

    Hello
    If the item you are basing the parameter on already has a list of values then the list will automatically be displayed.
    If you are creating a generic parameter, probably using the <None> link, or you are basing the parameter on an item in a folder that does not have a list of values then there is no way to get one.
    You can create lists of values based on items in a custom folder but then you still need to associate the LOV with an item. However with a little ingenuity and thinking ahead you can actually get LOVs for just about every parameter, just ensure the parameter is based on an item and not using <None>
    Hope this helps

  • How to create a LOV for a ESS Job Parameter

    Hi,
    I have an ESS job and for one of the parameter , I want to provide users to select from the static List of values.
    What is the easiest possible approach and how to achieve that.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ankit

    Sorry I missed it somehow. So, assuming currently the job parameter is a text box. Here, is what you can do.
    1. Create a new Fusion application with a model project in it. Then Create a new view object with data based on static values type in the JDeveloper.
    2. Create a new Fusion Applications Customization Application based on the exploded EAR
    3. Open the page you want to change by customize option and then keep a note of the current binding value from the ess parameter inputText and then delete this field from UI.
    4. Shuttle the newly created vo in the AM used for this page. For this to be available you will need to add your project created in step 1 as a library to the Customization application.
    5. Now expand the data controls and drop the attribute from the VO as a LOV on your page and copy the value binding from the deleted field to this one.
    Please note that the above approach should work but I have not personally tried or tested it. Also you will need to go through the extensibility guide for setting up your environment, to understand the customization process, and deploying it to test. Extensibility guide can be found [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/fusionapps.1111/e16691/toc.htm]

    Hi,
    usually the foreign key is only set if the VO you select is dependent from a master. If e.g. you have DepartmentsVO1 that has an EmployeeVO3 as its nested VO, then creating a new instance of employees automatically add the foreign key. If you add EmployeesVO1, which is not dependent to DepartmensVO1, then the foreign key is not set. So if this is the case in THURA (keep in mind that this is not an Oracle demo but a sample used in a book about ADF) then all you need is to take the independent VO when building the new employee form.

  • I would like to create a soundtrack for my iPhoto Slideshow that consists of "parts" of say three songs" - how can I do this?

    I am about to create a slideshow for my daughters wedding and I would like to be able to have three sections of photos (her, him, and both) in this show as well I would like to have one soundtrack that has parts of three songs - matching up with each section.
    How do I create such a soundtrack, and then how do I match it up to the three sections of my photos?
    Believing this can be done then how do I transfer it to a device that will play on a large screen at the wedding?
    Thanks!

    Do you have iDVD on your Mac?  If so here's how you can do it.
    Create 3 separate slideshows.  Use iTunes to trim the tracks you want to use for each slideshow. Select the track and type Command+i to bring up the sound track's info window.  Then set the start and stop times to what you need;
    Do that for each of the three slideshows.
    Next:
    1 - export each slideshow to the Desktop with the Size = medium or large.
    2 - launch iDVD, create a project and select a theme.
    3 - create a slideshow in iDVD via the "+" button.
    4 - drag the three QT movie files into the slideshow window in the order you want them to play.
    5 - set the slide duration to anything but manual or fit to music.
    6 - do not select any transition or music.
    7 - follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
    Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
    The video DVD disc can then be played with a set top DVD player on a TV set.

  • How to create dynamic LOV

    Hi All.
    I have requirement like
    In advance table I have a pick list (Type) which contains 3 values.
    1) Item
    2) category
    3) All
    If I select Type as "Item" My Item LOV should display Items and Description else If I select "Category" It should display Category and description else If I select All It should Display All.
    How can i Implement this.
    Please any one suggest.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Create three different LOVs as per the requirement. By default renderend property of all the LOVS will be false. Now depending on the value selected in the poplist you make the redered the true for the appropriate LOV.

  • Is there a way to create three different physical calendars in ical so that I can get a fiscal view of the calendars?

    Is there a way to create three physically different calendars in iCal so that I can view the calendar and events from a fical point of view?

    iCal just shows the calendars you have created in your account(s).  So if you are using iCloud just log into your iCloud account in a web browser and make as many new calendars as you wish to have.  Then enable those in iCal.
    If you use Google accounts or something else for the calendars, then create them as needed, and enable them in iCal.
    I have several separate calendars all displayed in iCal - a couple linked through my Gmail accounts, and one through my iCloud account.  Each uses a different default item color so they are distinct in iCal.

  • Creating a LOV by using a Command Object

    Hello All,
    I have a report that's driven by a parameterized sproc, which is a year parameter.  However, we have a table that I would like to use in my object command to populate this parameter with the values from the select statement to enforce consistency. A new year is inserted into to this table yearly by another process, which would keep me from having to go into a static list to update the year options yearly.
    I've created the command object and saved it to the repository, but I can't figure out how to associate it to the report as the parameter.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi DevinM,
    two choices:
    A) add the Command to your report
    1) you can add the Command to your report...don't link it to any tables though...you'll get a "Generally not supported error" but you can ignore it for this test
    2) now in your prompt you will have the Command available for the dynamic values
    3) check that the number of records on your report remains the same as before...it should...any test i have run on this is aok
    B) create a Business View
    1) go into the Business View Manager and create a business view from the data foundation up
    2) once you've got the business view built you can create an LOV from there which is available to your current report and all other reports

  • How do I create linked LOVs in a JSP

    We are attempting to create a list of values (LOV) for a group of categories on a jsp page. We would like the LOV to be populated with the category names. Next to the category LOV we would like to have a link “get subcategories” that when clicked would return to the same jsp page, set the value of the LOV to the category selected, and populate a second LOV with sub-category names for the selected category.
    We have created an sql-only View Object (VO) for the categories and linked it to an sql-only VO for the subcategories (in a master-detail relationship) and added the VOs to an app module. We have tested the link between the two VOs with successful results.
    We would like to know how to create a linked pair of LOVs on a jsp page. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Les,
    If I understand correctly, you can do this fairly simply.
    First create datasources:
    <jbo:DataSource name="dsCategories" ...
    <jbo:DataSource name="dsSubCategories" ...
    <% // add a where clause to SubCategories based on the parameter "CategoryNumber"
    String categoryNumber = params.getParameter("CategoryNumber");
    // Make sure to default to something if the parameter is null or you'll get an error
    if (categoryNumber == null)
    categoryNumber = "1";
    dsSubCategories.getRowSet().setWhereClauseParam(0, categoryNumber);
    // execute the query on dsSubCategories to ensure that the where clause reflects on this page
    dsSubCategories.getRowSet().executeQuery();
    Create a form with your drop down lists.
    1. I would create a <form> that posts to the same page.
    2. Add a <jbo:FormEvent> tag with a custom event name like "getSubcategories".
    3. Create a LOV that isn't connected to the database:
    <jbo:InputSelect multiple="false" displaydatasource="dsCategories" displaydataitem="CategoryName" displayvaluedataitem="CategoryNumber" ></jbo:InputSelect>
    4. Create a second LOV that also isn't connected to a datasource. It would look like this:
    <jbo:InputSelect multiple="false" displaydatasource="dsSubCategories" displaydataitem="SubCategoryName" displayvaluedataitem="SubCategoryNumber" ></jbo:InputSelect>
    5. Add a submit button
    That should work. Some things to note:
    1. This probably won't track your previously selected options. I don't know if you can do that with this interface.
    2. I'd add some javascript to postback when a new list item is selected.
    Based on these points I would code the select list by hand like this:
    <select name="CategoryNumber" size="1" onchange="this.form.submit()">
    <% String curCatNumber="";
    String CatNumber = params.getParameter("CategoryNumber");
    if (CatNumber == null)
    CatNumber = "1";
    <jbo:RowsetIterate datasource="dsCategories" >
    <jbo:Row id="rowCategory" datasource="dsCategories" action="active" >
    <% curCatNumber = ((oracle.jbo.domain.Number)rowCategory.getAttribute("Category")).toString();%>
    <option value="<%=curParlimentId%>"
    <% if (CatNumber.equals(curCatNumber)) { %>selected<% } %>>
    <jbo:ShowValue datasource="dsCategories" dataitem="CategoryName" ></jbo:ShowValue>
    </option>
    </jbo:Row>
    </jbo:RowsetIterate>
    </select>
    The second would be similar.
    Hope this answered your question!

  • Using a LOV for the Start of a Tree - Pblms using LOV value for Start SQL

    I'm trying out my first APEX Tree using P20 and am having problems with it. The data structure is I have a clients table, an users table, a plans table and a union table (plan_users) that shows which users for a client are working on plans. An user belongs to a client and can be assigned to plans (plan_users).
    client_id (key to clients table and part of the composite key for users, plans and plan_users) is available as an application item which I can reference as :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID.
    I created several LOV's in the Shared Components. The PLANS_LOV returns all plans defined for the :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID. I've referenced this PLANS_LOV in the P20_ROOT_TREE which is setup to display the list of Plans for the Client as a SELECT LIST WITH SUBMIT. That seems to work and I can select the Plan.
    I then modified the SOURCE for the P20_ROOT_TREE to add a select statement to take the PLANS_ID selected in the LOV and use it in a Select to bring up the owner of the plan as the starting user for the tree. This is where I get an error when executing the SOURCE select statement which looks like this:
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_PLAN_ID and p.PLAN_ID = :PLANS_LOV
    and p.user_id = p.plan_owner_id
    and u.client_id = :FOCUS_PLAN_ID and u.user_id = p.user_id
    I'm guessing that the problem is what I'm referencing as :PLANS_LOV in the statement below. However I cannot find any information on how to reference the returned value from the PLANS_LOV for Page 20 so I've tried this.
    If this works right, then I want the user to select a PLAN from the LOV box and then see a tree displayed with all USERS hierarchically displayed beneath the Plan Owner. There may be multiple levels of users display under the Plan Owner.
    Here's the DEBUG page error I get. The number 4 is the correct Plan # I want to select Users for. The title on the page is "Available Plans". - Select Plan - is the default Null Value and Test Plan One is the Plan (#4) that I selected.

    The query I'm using for populating the rest of the tree after the START is this statement below, but I don't think I'm getting to this point yet.
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link, null a1, null a2
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID
    and u.client_id = :focus_client_id
    and u.user_id = p.client_id
    order by name
    I haven't been able to find any examples of someone using a LOV as part of the START definition for a Tree. All of the examples I've seen use a fixed value (i.e. 1).
    Anyone have some ideas?
    Thanks!
    Rob

    Hi,
    Try something like:
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link, null a1, null a2
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID
    and u.client_id = :focus_client_id
    and u.user_id = p.client_id
    START WITH :FIRST_USER_ID
    CONNECT BY PRIOR p.user_id = p.plan_owner_id
    order by name:FIRST_USER_ID should be computed to be the first p.user_id value that matches the filter. Ideally, the p.plan_owner_id value should be null for this user as this user should identify the top of the tree. As an example, the following, using the EMP table, will allow you to display a tree with any manager as the root:
    SELECT
    EMPNO ID,
    ENAME NAME,
    CASE WHEN EMPNO = :P1_EMPNO THEN NULL ELSE MGR END PID,
    null LINK,
    null a1,
    null a2
    FROM EMP
    START WITH EMPNO = :P1_EMPNO
    CONNECT BY PRIOR EMPNO = MGRAndy

    As of now am tracing them blindly with oradebug... but guide me to find solution for normal trace.Bhanu,
    The only supported way to enable trace concurrent requests from the application is what you already know. So, I believe there is no other way to enable trace. Since the issue with custom concurrent requests only, then I believe it is something with the reports/module registration.
    I am not sure why there are no values stored in FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS table (for some columns) when you submit such reports, and I believe if this is resolved you will be able to see the trace files generated. So, is it possible to register any of these custom reports in one of the standard responsibilities and see if the values in the table are populated and/or the trace file get generated then?
