Credit Limit against material

Dear All,
My client require that if customer order for specific material credit should not be calculated, and in case of few other material system check or run the credit management.
can any of my guru assist me in this regard that standard credit management offer us this possibility.
Regards

In OVA8, use the "No Credit Check" requirement under Document Controlling section.  Ask your ABAP person to put a code for you that allows SAP to Bypass all credit checks if the MATNR is the one for which you want to skip credit checks.  Check example requirement provided by SAP for more details - you can use 001 for Orders and 002 for deliveries.  Since you want to skip credit checks in sales order, you can copy 001 to 901 and put your code in and then assign 901 to "No Credit Check" field. If you are already using "No Credit Check" field in your credit check settings, just add the code for skipping credit checks for a particular material and you are done.

Let say Customer Pepsi has 3 products i.e X,Y and Z....pepsi (customer) has credit limit 100 USD. Here the customer credit limit is 100 usd but this customer has that credit limit by product wise that is:
    X Product 30 usd
    Y Product 50 usd

  • CREDIT CHECK AGAINST MATERIAL

    Dear All,
I want to enforce credit check on all EXPENSIVE MATERIALS.How to configure that.
    Please advise.
    Regards.
    Saurav M

    Hi Saurav M;
In the SAP standard you can't configure per material the credit management.
It can be done via customer or sales order type. But in order to attend you requirement, you can handle with
T-code OVA8 and set up a minimum value for sales order. Everytime that your user create a sales order which the value is higher than 1.000,00 U$ for instance, the credit will be checked.
I hope it can help you.

  • Credit Limit based on customer and material?

    Hello Gurus,
I've 2 diff types of goods..
    1) fast moving/ selling goods
    2) slow moving goods.
For a particular customer, I've assigned certain credit limit of say 10,000 EUR via FD32.
My question is, for the slow moving goods or one particular material/certain goods, I want to have higher limit--is it possible to configure to assign credit limit per customer/ material?
    Rgds,
    Raghu.

    Hi,
As preceding answer, it's not possible in standard SAP.
The credit check is on the totallity of sales order, not by item.
If you are in the same sales order different materials, what is the reaction of system ?
But, you have different options to check this :
    - Exclude material in credit check (according to material group for example)  by using requirement in OVA8.
    - Create a new condition type to check the credit limit in Ztable for customer/material. When you create sales order, a message is displaying according to your configuration (or blocking status for item).
You can compare Ztable (credit limit for customer/material) and another table for open orders.
    Just an idea.

  • Advance payment can not be used against credit limit and another sales ord

    Hi,
I have advance payment scenario where customer want advance payment cannot be used against another sales order and against any credit limit.
    Let me put one example.
Customer X is having credit limit of 1000 USD, if my client is received customized product order then he will take advance for this special order but customer X is already enjoying credit limit of 1000 USD. In this scenario my client wants advance payment received cannot use against any sales order and against any credit limit.
If I will post advance payment in F-29 then customer credit exposure will decrease against credit limit in FD32 which will affect normal sales order credit limit. Here customer does not want to utilize advance payment against credit limit of customer which is use for normal sales order.
    Please suggest

    Hi,
    You can use the SAP standard documentary payment management functionality together with credit management for this purpose. You need to configure Documentary payments in SAP first. For that see below link;
    [Documentary payments|http://www.learnsaptips.com/2011/09/how-to-handle-letter-of-credit-in-sap.html]
Then the advance payment has to be created as a financial document in SAP. This is just a SD only document and no impact to FI. During sales order creation you can assign this document number in to your sales document. It is possible to add it to sales order header as well as to individual line items.
If the attached financial document is sufficient to cover the value of the total sales order (If you attached to header) or value of the line item (If you attach it to a line item), system will NOT take that value for credit exposure calculation.
As far as I understood from your question, this is exactly what you're looking for.

  • Credit managment against payment terms  and credit limit

    Dear All,
I have two query against credit management
1   Can We maintain credit managment as per payment days. My client want system should give bolck as per payments days, say if payment terms is 30 days and within 30 days customer has not made payment against invoice so sales order should block.        ( sales order will create but shown as block)
2 Credit block with ref to credit limit given to customer,  they want credit block with reference to open order.open delivery and open invoice. Means system will check all open order, all open deliveries and all open invoice while considering credit limit.and give the block accordingly.
I am sure about credit limit but how to give block according to payment days (payment terms) and how to give path to check all open order, all open deliveries and all open invoice.
    waiting for you valuable input.
    Thank you
    SD Consultant

    Hello,
In OVA8, for the combination of credit group & risk category you maintain the following
    (1) CHECK against DYNAMIC with reaction C  & TICK in BLOCK
NOTE:path to check all open order, all open deliveries and all open invoice is maintained in OB45 (update 000012)
    (2) CHECK against OLDEST OPEN ITEM with reaction C & TICK in BLOCK
(do not maintain any value in DAYS OLDEST  ITEM, but maintain the payment terms in the Customer master)
for example, block as per payments days, say if payment terms is 30 days and within 30 days customer has not made payment against invoice so sales order will be blocked.
In both the cases ( credit limit and credit period, the sale orders blocked , can be released by VKM3.

  • Business need to define credit limit based on material

    HI,
Business need to define credit limit based on material,do we have option in SAP like this

    Hi,
If you can consider the credit check deactivation at item category level, it is possible.  You can find a switch to deactivate credit check at VOV7.  If you can group such materials under Z item category, you can control those.
But credit limit is not possible in standard.

    hello, friend.
credit management focuses on the customer.  credit info centers on the customer/credit account.  materials are not directly controlled by credit management.
however, it is possible to do credit management per material by assigning different divisions to your materials.  then, you define and assign different credit control areas to your sales areas.  indirectly, materials can then be controlled by the different credit control areas.  you can have different credit limits for a customer pre credit control area, all controlled in turn by a central credit limit (total).
however, this is not recommended as it complicates your credit management.  it may also pose problems in your sales order processing, despite the ability to process several divisions in the same document.
    regards.

  • Payment/Credit Limit for Vendors

    Hi SAP Gurus!
Is it possible to impose a maximum payment/credit limit for Vendors in SAP?
I saw in this forums that it can be done through Contracts but in the contracts, you have to enter a material. Is it possible that you don't have a material and the contract will encompass all the transactions of the vendor?\
Hope to hear from you soon!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can make use of following Features of Contract w/o materials;
    Item Categories in Contracts: -
Just as with purchase orders, you can enter an item category to define the item as an external service item, a consignment item, a subcontracting item or as a free-form text item.
    Item Category M (Material Unknown)
Item category M is for entering contract items without specifying the material number.
Item category M is recommended for similar materials with the same price but with differing material numbers.
    Example
Consider a contract item for different types of office paper. The various types of paper have the same weight, quality, and price. However, they differ in the following respects: One type is lined, another is unlined, and another has two holes on the left side for filing purposes.
How Do You Use Item Category M?
In the case of items of category M, you enter the short text (short description), target quantity, unit of measure, and price. As soon as a contract release order is created, the material number or a short text is entered (e.g. the exact type of paper, say, two-hole punched). The system determines the net price on the basis of the gross price entered, less any discounts.
    Item Category W (Material Group)
Item category W allows you to enter a material group without entering the value or quantity of the contract item. Item category W is for value contracts only.
    Example
Consider a contract for cable. The contract covers every type of cable on the vendor's price list. The exact type of cable is known only at the time a specific cable is ordered.
Instead of entering an item for every type of cable the vendor is able to supply, you could enter item category W and the material group (say, CABLE). The short text would indicate that the contract item covers all types of cable supplied by the vendor.
Each release order issued against this contract would then specify the actual type and quantity of cable (for example, double-shielded coax, 1 spool) as well as the price.
How Do You Use Item Category W?
When you create the contract item, enter the item category W, the short text, and the material group. You do not enter a price or conditions for the item. However, it is possible to specify conditions in the document header. For example, you can enter a discount in the header conditions if the vendor grants a discount on all Pos relating to the contract. The discount is automatically taken into account when the release order is created.
You can enter a material number in the contract release order. The corresponding material master record must be assigned to the same material group specified in the referenced contract item. If the release order does not have a material number, then it must contain a valid account assignment, such as a cost center.

  • Product wise credit limit

My requirment is that how can we maintain Product credit material
As we wants to keep a seperate credit  limit for one material out of 100 in same sales area and same group. and for same customer ?
This is business requirmetn as we need to put these materila at distrebuter location as on credit basis in controld maner.
Please help as it is an ergent requirement.
    regards Ajit

If your supplier is selling you some product, and then you are selling it to consumers do your consumers need credit limits, as they would pay via PoS.
If you want to report on what has been sold, this should be achieved via sales reporting
If you want to see how much a customer's credit exposure is made up from a particular product, again, this would need to be done via some reporting, against credit exposure.
Please can you detail the actual industry, and the issue it is very vague.

  • Static Credit Limit Check for Sales Orders - Net Value vs Credit Value

We are testing order credit check and we have run into a problem with the Static Credit Limit Check.  The Static Credit Limit Check is set to use both Order and Delivery Values.  SAP uses the values in S066 and S067 to determine what values it uses to check against the credit limit.  Standard SAP uses the confirmed quantity times the credit price to get the order values - this is the credit value.
So the problem is, once an order is released it is set up so it does not go back on credit hold, so anything which is not confirmed (but could be) it a potential credit value which is unaccounted for in the credit exposure and the customer can go over the credit limit.
Additionally, we run AFS and have items which are rejected with a J0 rejection code (unconfirmed) which have the potential of being confirmed and shipped and we want to include these items in the value of the order which is being checked against the credit limit (along with the deliveries, invoices and receivables).
    Here is a quick example.
Customer has a credit limit of $100 (no deliveries, invoices or receivables - to keep it simple)
Order 1 is placed with a credit value of $50.00 but a potential value of $100 (the other half is J0) - this passes the credit check since $50.00 is less than the limit.
Order 2 is placed for $50.00 and has a credit value of $50.  This also gets approved.
At this point, the credit limit used is 100% (based on standard SAP)
Then Order1 backorder is confirmed and the new credit value is now $100.  This order now puts the customer over their limit and if the order had been released would not go back on credit hold and therefore the customer is not over their credit limit by 50%.
What I want is for Order1 to be credit checked for the $100 not the $50 so the exposure is correct.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could use the Net Value of the order to perform the static credit check?  And any thoughts on how to determine the correct credit exposure (open order value plus items which are J0, plus deliveries, plus invoices, plus receivables)?
I am thinking about a Z table to track the adjusted values on the orders and then use one of the customer checks to do a static credit check with the adjusted value.  And for the exposure, use the adjusted value to recalculate the values in F.35 to show a more accurate view of the credit exposure.
Does anyone have an easier way to do this?  Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Suzanne

    Hi Suzzane,
In the scenario that you have provided, in the first order items worth 50$ are rejected. Hence standard SAP will not take this into account as this item is rejected. Two solutions can be provided here:
    1) The line item can have a delivery block instead of  a reason for rejection. This way the 50$ will get accounted. However, if this is against customer norms as this will appear in the order acknowledgment, this cannot be used.
    2) User exit can be used where a credit check can be triggered once the document value changes, even though the document has a released status.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Vinu

  • Credit limit check cause the item schedule line confirmed qty empty

    Hi,
I have an SO that is under credit limit check, the problem is, after releasing it via VKM3, the confirmed qty at item schedule line is not taking the qty as of stock at the time. The SO qty is 100 Pcs, but there's still stock of 80 Pcs. I will then need to split the schedule line to 2 lines --> 1st line with order qty 80 Pcs, and 2nd line 20 Pcs. Then only the confirmed qty appear for the 80Pcs.
For usual SO that is without credit checking, the confirmed qty will immediately shown as in 1 schedule line. Does anyone know why is this happening and can we amend this problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi
If an order is subject to credit check once you save the order the confirmed quantities becomes 0 because if the settings done in t code OVB8 Number of the routine used for copying is set as 101and System FORM routine number is set as 1 (and this is the standard settings)
This is kept like this in standard so that if a material stock is say 10 units and order from customer X has come for 10 units and that order is blocked on crediit limit so that when the next order from customer Y has come for another 5 units and this customer Y has a better credit limit and this order is not blocked on Credit limit check then she should not suffer for stocks
A genuine customer should not be deprived of stocks
For you between the order registered and released thro VKM3 another order has come from another customer for 20 units and hence the 100 units has become 80 now and balance 20 is confirmed for a future date thro forward scheduling
In T code OVB8 you can do the customizations for this scenario according to the business requirement

  • Unable to block or throw credit limit message while posting Sales Order.

    Dear All,
I hv created new customer and extended credit limit through FD32, assigned Risk Categeory and set the limit to 10,000/-.
When i am posting Sale Order with 15,000 or more value, i am not getting any warning or error message while saving Sale Invoice. No block was set against delivery or billing in Sale Order.
Kindly guide me, which step i am missing. FYI, customer dont hv any open item or credit exposure as of now becoz he was new customer.
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Option 1
If your requirement is to go ahead with warning message and allow saving the sales document, maintain A in VOV8 for credit limit check.
If you want to restrict creating sales order when credit limit exceeded maintain B in VOV8 for credit limit check.
    Option 2
Now in OVA8 if you click on dynamic option. Make sure you satisfy these requirements
The customer's credit exposure is split into a static part - open items, open billing, and delivery values - and a dynamic part, the open order value. The open order value includes all not yet or only partially delivered orders. The value is calculated based on the shipping date and the credit horizon you specify in the adjacent field. For the purposes of evaluating credit, you want the system to ignore all open orders that are due for delivery after the horizon date. The sum of the static and dynamic parts of the check may not exceed the credit limit.
I would recommend with option 1, still if you want to go for option 2
Then click on Static and make sure you also select open orders and open deliveries.
This will happen if you select static
The customer's credit exposure may not exceed the established credit limit. The credit exposure is the total combined value of the following:
    Open sales documents
    Open delivery documents
    Open billing documents
    Open items (accounts receivable)
You can specify in the adjacent fields whether the system takes into account all open orders and all open deliveries.

    Ravi.
I am sorry i wont be able to add further input than this.

  • Credit management - one customer for two company, different credit limit

    hi,
customer A in company 1000 and 2000. for example the total credit limit is $10000 for these two companies, customer A with individual limit 6000 in company 1000 and 4000 in company 2000. If i create sales order 1 with value is $7000, then message will  be displayed. however if i create sales order 2 with value $35000 , no message is dispalyed. Is it possible to display message is the total credit limit is over but not individual limit?
And if i create a new customer , and create a sales order with over credit limit and the message is displayed when I save the sales order, but the value is not upated in credit master before i release Sales order. it only happen for the first time i create customer. pls advice
    thanks

    Hello Jo Jo,
it is not possible to check the sales order created in one company against the total
credit limit for the customer . The system checks (in standard) always against the
credit limit maintained for assigned company. The only one way could be to develop your own credit check (OVA8 - userexit 1, 2 or 3).
The part with the credit blocked sales order is correct: if the sales order is credit blocked, it does not update the open credit values, as the credit value will be calculated according the confirmed quantities and the confirmed quantities will be removed in the sales order (in standard) due the credit block. When you release the order in VKM1 or VKM3, the ATP runs and creates the confirmed quantities - as the result the order updates the credit values in FD32.
I hope this information helps you.
    Best regards,
    Lela

  • Credit limit in sales order

    Dear experts
I am facing a problem in credit control check , for a  customer I have done configuration settings in SPRO sales credit management ,  Define automatic credit control ,in that i defined dynamic credit check .
it is working fine but the problem is when new customer is created and maintained credit limit in code FD32  ,  it is not checking any credit limit which have defined in FD32 ,it is allowing me to create any amount of sale invoice to customer,
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    SrinivasRangi

Have you assigned a risk category to your customer in FD32, which you might have defined in OVA8. Also, did you ticked against open orders and open deliveries in while defining dynamic credit check for your risk category in OVA8.
See, in OVA8 against the combination of your credit control area and risk category, define dynamic credit check, put a check against open orders and open deliveries, so that it takes them into account while calculating credit exposure for that customer. Also assign this risk category in FD32 for that customer.
Hope this is of some help for you.....
    Reward, if helpful....
