Crossdomain issue in subfolders

For anyone who is having trouble trying to figure out why
their crossdomain.xml file is not working on FLV files within
subfolders, AS3 does like absolute paths for files inside your
flash player. When using a video component make sure you use
relative paths to the FLV and skins. If you do not, you will be
able to view the files from www.domain.com but not domain.com. If
any one has a better explanation of this feel free, because I am no
Flash expert, but as soon as I changed it to relative paths my
files worked.

Hi
This can be done at the reporting level. Below link will help you solve this.
http://www.wiseowl.co.uk/blog/s257/ssrs-rows-per-page-pt2.htm
When you have multiple pages, your header may disappear. So below link will help you to have the header repeating in each page.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/19398.ssrs-how-to-repeat-headers-on-each-page.aspx
Let me know how it goes.

• Need help with netstream crossdomain issue

Our company has a main server for our web site. But all of
our graphics are then copied from the main server to a special
caching server to speed things up. I am trying to use netstream to
create a universal video player for our company and it works fine
as long as the source .swf and .flv are being called from the same
server. But when I call the .swf from our main server and then the
.swf tries to load the .flv from the graphics server, it doesn't
play. I have tried the crossdomain.xml thing and it still doesn't
work. I've looked for information relating to netstream crossdomain
issues but haven't found anything. I know the easy solution is to
make sure everything is called one server, but many people might
use this and I can't always be sure they know what they are doing.
Can anybody help???? OR could this be a problem with the way our
servers are setup?

forgot to add that i did delete and re add the Drivers thinking that might be an issue
Ran system test on everthing and it show its working just fine
but still no SPOKEN VOULUME TO SPEAK OF
the music or Sound side works fine

• Anychart Issue

I have an apex 4.0.1 website with multiple Anychart graphs but I'm receiving a security error when attempting to access. The website is host to approximately 300 users of which i have not heard of a single complaint, however, i, the developer am getting the below security error on my home machine running Windows 7 (regardless of browser). It works fine on my laptop running Windows XP however.
This error displays on every chart on the website:
Flash Security Error:
AnyChart cannot be launched due to Flash Security Setttings violation.
I've read about crossdomain issues but since it works for other users i didnt think that is the issue. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there some conflict on my personal machine? I've tried changing Flash security settings and browser security settings but nothing has worked and I'm stuck. Please help.
I'm happy to provide any further info that may help solve this.
Thanks in advance.

I'm also running into this issue.
Here's some info on our setup:
Apache 2x webserver in front with SSL-cert etc, available "from the outside", proxypass to a OHS apex-install only available on our lan.
Charts work great whilst accessing through our local server, but accessing the charts from the outside doesn't.
I've tried reading the suggested documentation from the errormessage, and it proposes I create an XML-file and put on the SSL-server.
For testing purposes I've tried with the following xml

<cross-domain-policy>
<allow-access-from domain="*" secure="false" />
</cross-domain-policy>

This still did not do the trick. Any suggestions?

• SWF Jitters on drupal site - crossdomain.xml

I've been working on a mapping application for a client. The swf I've created references a xml that provides names for mc's and listeners. The xml also has info that populates text boxes when clicked on.
I'd been hosting the working version of this swf on our website (drupal based) where I worked on changes and tested it. It worked fine in this location and still is functioning well
http://wildlands.org/node/683
When I sent a copy for my clients to post on their website, we ran into a few problems. First, there was a crossdomain issue and we had to create a crossdomain.xml and place it in their site's root. Once we did this, the app worked but became jittery (a problem i cannot replicate on my site). The client is using the same version of drupal and the same flashnode module.
http://www.gallatinwrp.org/content/testflash
Does anyone know where I could start to begin troubleshooting this? It's strange that this does not occur on my site. I also never had to create a crossdomain.xml and place it in our site's root.
thanks in advance,
j

the easiest way to avoid cross-domain issues, is to use a local executable (like a php file) and have that executable load your cross-domain assets and pass them to your local swf.
otherwise, you must correct your crossdomain.xml file. to start, you need a cross-domain meta policy file that is in the host server's root directory. if you don't have access to the root directory, you don't control that server and you are not allowed to place policy files on it. (see above solution.)

• Mail keeps creating inboxes

I use Apple Mail on both my MacBook and iPhone to sync with my IMAP account and have recently acquired a problem:
Although I don't use the To Do function in Mail, Mail has been creating an Apple Mail To Do folder in my iPhone/MacBook folder list. At first this was at the top level of the hierarchy, same as my other mail folders. I deleted it when first noticed and have attempted to delete again since (perhaps foolishly), and now Mail keeps creating new copies of the "Apple Mail To Do" folder, only… each time it is nested inside two, three, four, five(!) "Inbox" folders.
Looks like this:
- INBOX
- ....INBOX
- ........INBOX
- ............INBOX
- ................INBOX
- .....................Apple Mail To Do
This set of folders sits in alpha order within my main list of folders, it's separate from the real Inbox that sits at the top of my folder list.
When I attempt to delete all six folders I get a message saying that the various INBOXES don't exist. When I delete just the To Do folder, the INBOX folders are deleted as well. (Until the whole thing is recreated!)
Incidentally, my IMAP Path Prefix in Mail.app's preferences is set to: INBOX
So I suspect if I were to change that to blank, then the nesting would (maybe?) stop.
All the same, can anyone explain this behaviour (it's fairly recent, following a decent period where I wasn't plagued by To Do folders at all)? Why would it be nesting multiple "INBOX" folders, rather than just one?
What can I do to get the To Do folder to stay away?

This solution does not delete the AppleMail Todo mailbox but provides a workaround that keeps those annoying subfolders out of your inbox and prevents them from "breeding."
(Note: In my case this issue began only after I started using an iPhone. I am using a 3rd party IMAP server provided by Network Solutions WITHOUT SSL. I cannot say the following is a universal workaround.)
The wage-donkey I spoke to at Apple Tech support- "Tier 2" no less - INSISTED this is not a problem caused by mail.app, but rather it was a server-side issue. He said the folder in question MUST exist on the server and is being pushed to the mac every time the IMAP mailbox is created in mail app. Rather than attempting to trouble-shoot the issue, he adamantly argued his point until I hung up.
You can attempt to prove his point for him by trying the following:
1) Log on your mail server via web browser and delete the offending folders.
2) move ~/Library/Mail and ~/Library/Preferences/apple.mail.plist to the trash.
3) Disconnect computer from the internet.
4) Set-up IMAP account manually.
5) Relaunch mail.app.
The application will request permission to create an Apple Mail ToDo folder in the newly created Inbox.
(It would seem Mail.app is designed to automatically create the ToDo mailbox and place it on the server, which it cannot do without an internet connection. One would assume a "Tier 2" Apple Support technician would know this. He didn't.)
6) Hit cancel to deny Mail.app's request.
The server-side folders that should normally appear in a mailbox OUTSIDE of your inbox should now all be contained WITHIN the mailbox. This should include a Gray folder called "ToDo" with a subfolder mbox (youraccountname)
7) Quit mail.app
8) Restore your internet connection.
9) Relaunch mail.app. It will make the same request as step 5. Click ALLOW.
Mail.app should move all of the folders from your inbox to a server-side subfolder containing the Gray ToDo folder and the subfolder "mbox (youraccountname)."
DO NOT delete this folder. You can open it without consequence. You should no longer have the issue of subfolders breeding in your inbox every time you reboot.
To further test the mai.app-side/server-side argument, I deleted the entire mailbox from the server and created a new one before trying the above steps. Same issue. The folder in question is almost certainly created by mail.app and not residing on the server. Though I cannot isolate the cause, I'm confident it lies somewhere in the combination of SSL settings, iPhone integration and mail.app.
In my experience, Mac Tech Support has not helped solve a real problem since OS 9. In one instance a mac "genius" suggested my mother wipe her drive and reinstall the OS to solve her airport problem. It turns out all he had to do was turn off Interference Robustness in her airport settings. User message boards know more collectively than any Tech Support Associate I have ever encountered. Apple doesn't want to take your call so take the hint and stop calling.

• Email Form

Hello,
I know you have all had to go through this before, but please
bear with me.
Objective. To click a button that sends form info to an
email.php file.
Objects: The button is a Movie Clip (instance of: btn-SUBMIT)
This button is in its own layer named Layer 3. This and all other
form elements are in a separate movie clip named contactForm.
Problem: My actionscript is incorrect and is not working. I
am a novice and do not have the experience to deal with this
problem.
Actionscript code Relating to btn-SUBMIT:
on (rollOver) {
this.gotoAndPlay("over");
on (releaseOutside, rollOut) {
this.gotoAndPlay("out");
on (release) {
if (_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.name1 == "Name" ||
_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.email == "E-mail" ||
_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.message1 == "Message" ||
_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.name1 == "" ||
_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.email == "" ||
_root.pgapp.pages.page4.contactForm.message1 == "") {
_parent.gotoAndStop(3);
} else {
_parent.loadVariables("email.php", "POST");
_parent.gotoAndStop(2);
PHP Code saved in the same directory as the main flash file:
<?php
$name1 = $_REQUEST['Name'] ;
$email = $_REQUEST['E-mail'] ;
$message = $_REQUEST['Message'] ;
mail( "[email protected]", "Feedback Form Results",
$message, "From: $email" );
?>
Request: Any help from anyone who may know how to get these
two languages to work correctly. Beer is given to all those with
answers :-)

Hi Nimbitt,
I would recommend using the LoadVars class to send data
instead of
sticking variables in a clip. It's messy and easy to get
wrong. Try
something to the effect of:
function onGetReturndata(success:Boolean) {
trace ("The server responded with: "+this.returnData);
var myLoad:LoadVars=new LoadVars();
var myReturn:LoadVars=new LoadVars();
myReturn.onLoad=this.onGetReturndata;
myLoad.Name="SomeName"; //Or get this from your form
myLoad.eMail="[email protected]"; //Don't use a minus in the variable
name...if you
can't create this variable in Flash, don't send it down the
wire
myLoad.Message="Hello SomeName, this is an email for you";
myLoad.sendAndLoad("
http://yourserver.com/email.php",myReturn,"POST");
//It's a good idea to use the entire URL here.
Your PHP script was correct but has no way of notifying you
of success (or
failure). The $_REQUEST array is a good way to test since it
accepts both
GET and POST variables, but it is advisable to update this to
$_POST after
testing just to add an extra layer of obfuscation to your
form. Using
$_REQUEST, it would look something like this:
<?php
$name1 = $_REQUEST['Name'] ;
$email = $_REQUEST[eMail'] ;
$message = $_REQUEST['Message'] ;
if (mail( "[email protected]", "Feedback Form
Results",$message, "From:
$email" )) {
echo ("&returnData=Server reports that mail was sent
correctly");
//Note that the "returnData" variable, seen above in teh
ActionScript code,
is where we return the status string.
} else {
echo ("&returnData=Server reports a problem with sending
mail");
?>
One caveat...if you're not loading the SWF from teh same
server as the
script, you may run into crossdomain issues. Typically, a SWF
running in the
Flash IDE will work but anything else is restricted, so keep
this in mind.
Good luck,

• Proxy-config wsdl question

When defining my destenatoin in the proxy-config.xml, Is it possible to point to a wdsl located on the local file system?
I am trying to connect TIBCO web-services which do not advertise the WSDL.
-jh

You peaked my interest so I did the following.
FIrst, I found a simple service (calculate) online and copied it's WSDL to my local drive.
http://www.dneonline.com/calculator.asmx?WSDL
I added the file reference to it in my proxy-config.xml.
<wsdl>file://c:/calculator.wsdl</wsdl>
No luck!
However, since I had the WSDL, I placed it on my local TOMCAT (LCDS) instance so that I could reference it via HTTP.
<destination id="testWSDLFile">
<properties>
<wsdl>http://localhost:8400/lcds/wsdl/calculator.wsdl</wsdl>
<soap>*</soap>
</properties>
<adapter ref="soap-proxy"/>
</destination> Once i did that, I could use the Data Service wizard in FlashBuilder and everything seemed to work. I was worried that I might have crossdomain issue-something to consider I suppose. Otherwise .. all good.
Hope that helps some

• Cafe Townsend Tutorial Modification

Help! I'm trying to put together a simple picture slide show
very similar to the flash_fma.fla file found in the Cafe Townsend
tutorial—but automated, with just a pause between the change
in images, and not using the next button. I know there must be
samples of that simple file type out there somewhere, but I can't
seem to find any, and I'm not yet familiar enough with the
ActionScript syntax to know what would be the best way to go. Can
anyone give me some advice or point me to an example file? The Cafe
Townsend file uses the stop() function in each of the image
keyframes and addEventListener to move the images with a button
click in the actions layer.
Thanks,

• SSRS 2008 subfolder access denied but only partly

Dear all
After removing authorizations from the root folder we have an access issue with subfolders.
A user with seemingly proper authorizations (Content Manager, Publisher, Browser, MyReports, ReportBuilder) is able to upload reports, delete reports, run reports, shift reports to other subfolders
But when trying to view the security properties or updating a report e.g. by changing the data source he gets the 'Access denied' error.
Any suggestions for the root cause of this?

Hi JoachimRe,
As you removed authorizations from the root could it be that you broke security inheritance as described here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159693(v=sql.100).aspx
especially:
The Content Manager role is often used with the System Administrator role. Together, the two role definitions provide a complete set of tasks for users who require full access to all items on a report server. Although the
Content Manager role provides full access to reports, report models, folders, and other items within the folder hierarchy, it does not provide access to site-level items or operations. Tasks such as creating and managing shared schedules, setting
server properties, and managing role definitions are system-level tasks that are included in the
System Administrator role. For this reason, we recommend that you create a second role assignment at the site level that provides access to shared schedules.
Note
By default item security is inherited from a parent item. If you apply security settings to an item that are different from those of the parent item, you stop the inheritance chain of permissions to child items. A side effect of this someone in the
Content Manager role may not have all the permissions they would have had if the inheritance chain had not been changed. For example they may no longer be able to modify folders created by other users.
Which, by the way, I think, does not explain the access denied message for modifying datasources. Did you by any change also alter the task list for predifined roles on the reporting services report server in ssms?

• Asp onLoad not working in Browser

I have an interesting problem. I have access to an existing

tempText += "Phone: "+_root.da[m][5];
tempText += " \n";
result_ta.text = tempText;

Despite being added to the crossdomain.xml file on the remote
server this now seems like it is some sort of crossdomain issue
after all.

• SOAP Requests

I am trying to get some data from something called and iLON
via SOAP. I am currently doing this in some javascript code on
another page and i want to do this in flex so i can take some
charts I've already made and use this data.
attached is my code.
here is the error i am getting
quote:
Channel.Security.Error
Unable to load WSDL. If currently online, please verify the
URI and/or format of the WSDL (wsdl address)
I can visit
http://--IP--/WSDL/v4.0/iLON100.wsdl
and see the WSDL. in my javascript code the url is working as
http://--IP--/WSDL/iLON100.wsdl
(change: removed '/v4.0')
i have also downloaded the WSDL and saved it into my project
and referenced it from there. in those cases i get
quote:
InvokeFailed
Unable to load WSDL. If currently online, please verify the
URI and/or format of the WSDL (../wsdl/iLON100.wsdl)
due to the "attach code" button not being in this section?
ill just put it in a quote
quote:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="vertical">
<mx:Script>

import mx.rpc.events.*;
private function worked(event:ResultEvent):void {
myText.text = "IT WORKED";
private function failed(event:FaultEvent):void {
myText.text = event.fault.faultCode.toString() + "\n" +
event.fault.faultDetail;
http://<IP>/WSDL/v4.0/iLON100.wsdl

</mx:Script>
<mx:WebService id="soap" wsdl="../wsdl/iLON100.wsdl"
fault="failed(event)" result="worked(event)"
showBusyCursor="true">
<mx:operation name="iLON100" fault="failed(event)"
resultFormat="xml">
<mx:request xmlns="

<iLONSystemService>
<UCPTsystemInfoType>SI_NETWORK</UCPTsystemInfoType>
</iLONSystemService>
</SystemService_Read_Info>
</mx:request>
</mx:operation>
</mx:WebService>
<mx:TextArea id="myText" width="600" height="400"/>
</mx:Application>

I tried both running it locally and on the same domain and go
the same error. so im pretty sure the problem is _not_ a
crossdomain issue. i just dont know what it is.. here is some more
details on the error
(mx.messaging.messages::HTTPRequestMessage)#0
body = (Object)#1
clientId = (null)
contentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"

• RSS Widget works locally but not on website

I used the RSS widget to insert the following RSS feed:
feed://www.bpkids.org/updates.xml
I have also tried inserting with http:// instead of feed:// but no difference
When I publish the site and check it on my local folder, it works. But when I post it to my website, it shows nothing.
This is the first time I've used the RSS widget. It seems straight forward enought, however, I've read in these discussions that there was a bug with the RSS widget recently that was causing it not to work and wasn't sure if this is still a problem. Thanks

That is a crossdomain issue because you have the site
accessible via www or without.
If you use
http://www.sneeple.com/media_test/index.html
to access that page it will work.
Here's what to do to fix it:

• Newbie question about Premiere Elements Organizer

This is a pre-newbie – let’s say “virgin” question. If there is an answer already posted elsewhere, please send me a link.
I’m about to install Premiere Elements 9 to do some clip editing and animation from still images. This would be my first attempt to edit clip or do some animation from still images, besides using Windows Media Maker with my HS students. However, I have been a pretty serious photographer for 20+ years with 1,000’s of images which I now work on in PS CS5 Extended and Lightroom 3. I use Adobe Bridge and LR library to catalogue and organize my images. I’d like to continue to use AB / LR Library to organize my new clips and projects. From reading Bill’s posts, it seems I can use Adobe Bridge, copy my original file, resize in Photoshop, and save in a new folder to use for a Premiere project. This would seem to be most intuitive way for me to work. I already have keywords, metadata, actions in PS… etc. But I think Bill is using Premiere Pro, while I’ll be installing Premiere Elements, which comes bundled with Elements Organizer. Do I need to install or use Elements Organizer? What are the advantages/disadvantages or EO? I guess I’m a little worried about installing the programs and having EO automatically acquire images using presets/defaults that I don’t want to use as well as issues with subfolders, etc. I'm running Windows 7.
Thanks
FYI- this is a great animation project

EO doesn't do much with the files themselves, just maintains links to the sources.
For folders you are best to use the folder view in EO to move them as it doesn't keep track of folder locations when changed in Windows Explorer. From the File options in Bridge I think that is pretty much the same.

I would like to get as much input as possible on the advantages/disadvantages of using EO vs say Adobe Bride from others who use Elements Organizer.
Any insights would be appreciated.
Can anyone who has used both EO and AB comment on how EO handles missing (hidden) files, syncing issues, computer hanging up or crashing....etc?
I've only messed around a little with Bridge. But to me it seems lightening fast by comparison to EO. The features Albums and Tags in EO seem much the same as Collections and Keywords in Bridge.
EO has Face Recognition abilities - getting more sophisticated in each version. I've not seen this feature in Bridge.
By default EO allows you to open a file in any of:
Photoshop
Photoshop Elements
Premiere Elements
A single used-defined application (I have mine set to ColorPilot).
Bridge only seems to link to Photoshop.
Missing files can be located manually or by allowing EO to search for them.
Cheers,
Neale
