That class is in rasapp.jar file - if you're using the Java Reporting Component, I recommend following the deployment guide found here:
http://support.businessobjects.com/communitycs/technicalpapers/cr_xi_r2_jrc_deployment.pdf.asp
that lists the required jar files.

Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when running DBCA after fresh install
Hello there.
I have just installed Oracle 9i on a new server, since we are moving our database server from one machine to the other, and after going through the installation without any problems DBCA was going to run but I have got the following error message:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/help/Help
at oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.ui.UIHost.initializeHelp(UIHost.java:24
5)
at oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.ui.UIHost.initialize(UIHost.java:228)
at oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.Dbca.execute(Dbca.java:96)
at oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.Dbca.main(Dbca.java:161)
I have checked the CLASSPATH, which currently is:
"C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\lib\rt.jar;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\lib\i18n.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\assistants\dbca\jlib\dbca.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\assistants\jlib\assistantsCommon.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\ewt3.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\ewtcompat-3_3_15.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\share.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\swingall-1_1_1.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\oracle_ice5.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\help3.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\kodiak.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\gss-1_1.zip;%ORACLE_HOME%\classes;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\oembase-9_2_0.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\srvm.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\netcfg.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib\vbjorb.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib\vbjtools.jar;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib\vbjapp.jar;%ORACLE_OEM_CLASSPATH%"
If you could please help I would appreciate it.
Kind regards.Hello, rajeysh.
Thank you for your reply, I have tried this method but it did not work, the problem remains the same.
Please notice that with the reference you've quoted the error is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sysman/emSDK/common/nls/MessageBundle while mine reports the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/help/Help.
So, if you have any other ideas I would appreciate it.
Kind regards. -
Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when executing JAVA code
Hy everyone,
Trying to execute some java code through forms I got this error when running my program : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError : simple (where simple is a java class I developped).
These are the steps I followed:
1- Devopping a simple JAVA class (simple.java) and compiling in JDK 1.4 (for compatibilty with forms 10.1.2.0.2)
2- Creating the JAR file
3- Copying the JAR file in <ORACLE_HOME>\forms\java
4- Adding the adress of the JAR file in CLASSPATH (environment variable of the server)
5- Adding the adress of the JAR file in CLASSPATH (environmental file of OAS default.env)
6- Importing the JAVA class trought forms builder (program>>import java class)
7- Invoking the JAVA class via the PL/SQL packages created by forms builder
8- Running the program
Thanks for your help.
Regards.In most cases, you should not have to stop and restart OC4J_BI_FORMS to pick such changes. However, since you are having problems, I would ensure that all frmweb processes have been stopped, then stop and restart OC4J_BI_FORMS and retest. If that doesn't work, you should review how you imported the java into your app. Look closely at the Importer options you used and ensure that you have not change the file name at any point. Because you are working with Java, case sensitivity is critical.
Also, where are you seeing the error message? Client java console or in a server side log? If server side, exactly which log file is reporting the problem? I would suggest you post the first 4 ro 5 lines of the error and not just the NoClassDefFound part. -

Hi,
I have a requirement of calling BI webservices from Plsql stored procedure. I generated all my wsdl java classes and loaded them into the database. However, when I tried to call one of my java class using stored procedure, it is giving me"ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError".
*Cause: A Java exception or error was signaled and could not be
resolved by the Java code.
*Action: Modify Java code, if this behavior is not intended.
But all my dependency classes are present in database as java class objects and are valid. Can some one help me out of this?Stiphane,
You can look in USER_ERRORS to see if there's anything more specific reported by the compiler. But, it could also be the case that everything's OK (oddly enough). I loaded the JavaMail API in an 8.1.6 database and also got bytecode verifier errors, but it ran fine. Here are the errors I got when loading Sun's activation.jar, which ended up not being a problem:
ORA-29552: verification warning: at offset 12 of <init> void (java.lang.String, java.lang.String) cannot access class$java$io$InputStream
verifier is replacing bytecode at <init> void (java.lang.String, java.lang.String):12 by a throw at offset 18 of <init> void (java.lang.String, java.lang.String) cannot access class$java$io$InputStream

Hope this helps,

[Help]Migrating to OBIEE has java.Lang.NoCLassDefFoundError
Hi,
When I try to migrate report to obiee according to guide, there are classic error of java "java.Lang.NoCLassDefFoundError"
My steps are:
1) set classpath=C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib
(this is the path can find aolj.jar;xdoparser.jar;collections.jar;versioninfo.jar;xmlparserv2-904.jar)
2) Download patch p5472959_11i_WINNT.zip from metlink and put j5472959_xdo.zip into above lib
3) call from command line of windows XP:
java -verbose -classpath oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.DataTemplateGenerator C:\biout\test.xml
or
java -verbose -classpath aolj.jar;xdoparser.jar;collections.jar;j5472959_xdo.zip;versioninfo.jar;xmlparserv2-904.jar oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.DataTemplateGenerator C:\biout\test.xml
But... No matther how to change the classpath and java command, there always has error:
Exception in thread main java.Lang.NoCLassDefFoundError C:\biout\test/xml
(PS: is not error of Exception in thread main java.Lang.NoCLassDefFoundError oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.DataTemplateGenerator, so I think system can find oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.DataTemplateGenerator, but it doesn't recongize C:\biout\test.xml )
Can any person help me? Thanks a lot.I wouldn't recommend setting the CLASSPATH variable... it's OK for now, but it'll become problematic in the long term... so IMHO you may as well form good habits upfront.
To compile:
C:\javacode>javac -d "." Example.java
To execute:
C:\javacode>java -classpath "." Example
Or as of java 1.5 you can shorten that to:
C:\javacode>java -cp "." Example
java -version
tells you which version of java you're running.
Cheers, Keith. -

Java Web Services Developer Pack/1.0-fcs
I thought it is about JDBC configuration. But when I run JdbcCheckup.java everything works fine. Can anybody help me, please?
test_ora.java looks like this:
import java.io.*;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
import java.sql.*;
public class test_ora extends HttpServlet {
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException {
String str_dok_numer, str_f_inkraft;
int int_dok_wal_id;
Connection conn=null;
Statement s = null;
response.setContentType("text/html;charset=iso-8859-2");
PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
try {
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.15.2:1521:DB2","janusz","kimono");
s = conn.createStatement();
} catch (SQLException e) {
out.println("Blad polaczenia z baza danych: " + e.getMessage());
try {
ResultSet r =s.executeQuery("select dok_numer, f_inkraft, dok_wal_id from gndlf_umowy_inkraft");
out.println("DOK_NUMER\tF_INKRAFT\tDOK_WAL_ID");
while(r.next()){
out.println (r.getString (1) +"\t" + r.getString (2) + "\t" +r.getString (3));
conn.close();
} catch (Exception e) {
out.println("Wystapil problem z wyslaniem SQL do bazy danych: " + e.getMessage());
finally {
try { conn.close(); }
catch(SQLException e) {}
and here is code for JdbcCheckup.java (I get it from Internet and made some modifications):
* This sample can be used to check the JDBC installation.

I use Java Web Service Developer Pack 1.0 on Win98 SE, database Oracle 8.1.7 is installed on dedicated IBM server (AIX 4.x).
I put these lines in autoexec.bat:
set PATH=C:\Perl\bin\;"C:\j2sdk1.4.0\bin";%PATH%
set CLASSPATH=.;C:\j2sdk1.4.0\lib\tools.jar;C:\j2sdk1.4.0\lib\classes12.zip;C:\j2sdk1.4.0\lib\classes111.zip;%CLASSPATH%
set CLASSPATH=C:\jwsdp_1_0\common\lib\servlet.jar;C:\jwsdp_1_0\common\lib\jasper-compiler.jar;C:\jwsdp_1_0\common\lib\jasper-runtime.jar;%CLASSPATH%
set JAVA_HOME=C:\j2sdk1.4.0I have the same problem. I created a JSP page that uses a class to retrieve database information. I added a main method to the class so I would be able to test it. When I test the class using the main method the method returns all the information from the database. When I try it using Tomcat, I get the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver
Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?
My CLASSPATH configuration is the same. -

ThanksI would normally do:
<jsp:useBean id="access" scope="session" class="YourPackageName.UIAccessCheckNat()" />
Then int nbrwdSifd = access.checkNbrwsSfid(); should work
You MUST put your class into a package:

This happens only on our stage and production instances. On our dev instance it works without problems. All 3 instances are setup the same, although our dev instance was created long time before the stage and prod instances. However, we cannot detect any differences between the machines.
I've tried the solutions mentioned in the other similar thread: Failed to create Salience object but this doesnt solve the issue since the directory and variables were already correct.
Anyone can help?Given that you are running this in Clover Server, one thing I can recommend is to shut that server down, move/truncate the logs, restart and retest, then look at the first error message you get when attempting to run the graph. Java classloaders sometimes cache failed class clinit and report future attempts to load that class as a simple NoClassDefFoundError, masking the original/actual root cause. With any luck you might find another, clearer error - maybe the native binary libraries are not being located.

Hi,
I am now working with jsse1.0.3 and jdk1.3.1(I can not use the new jdk version, because the system I developed is based on jdk1.3.1). what makes me strange is that I can compile my program without problem, but when I run it, it always report error.
my source code is :
import java.security.*;
import javax.net.ssl.*;
System.out.println("Classpath ->"+System.getProperty("java.class.path"));
SSLSocketFactory factory = (SSLSocketFactory)SSLSocketFactory.getDefault();
SSLSocket SSLcontrol_connection = (SSLSocket)factory.createSocket(ftp_server, 990);
SSLcontrol_connection.startHandshake();
..........the erroe message is:
Classpath ->O:\hpovams_dev_sd40\sd\lib\JClark.zip;O:\hpovams_dev_sd40\sd\lib\jcert.jar;O:\hpovams_dev_sd40\sd\lib\jnet.jar;O:\hpovams_dev_sd40\sd\lib\jsse.jar;..........
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
at javax/net/ssl/SSLSocketFactory.a (DashoA12275)
at javax/net/ssl/SSLSocketFactory.getDefault (DashoA12275)It is not a classpath problem as I have included the 3 jar files into classpath,.
I also tried to add
Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());before create SSLSocketFactory, then it report that
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
at com/sun/net/ssl/internal/ssl/Provider.<init> (DashoA12275)My developing GUI is eclipse 3.1, and the OS is winXP.
Please give me some help, thank you very much.oh. I have found the problem. Acturally, the running enviroment is under microsoft j++, so it could only support jdk1.1, but jsse only support from jdk1.2, so that's the problem why it said that no class found.
Now I only found that oracle has a solution for SSL which support
jkd1.1(SUN's jsse package only support from jdk1.2). It described the
method and sample code in Oracle Advanced Security Administrator's
Guide Release 2 (9.2)

Hi
I am new to java and am trying to deploy a code on linux red hat 4.I have 5 files namely:
1.ClassReportGenerator.java
2.ClassScheduler.java
3.manifest
4.rep_compile.sh
5.repgen.sh
first the rep_compile.sh is used to generate the class files for the two java files and then it creates a jar file
rep.jar file.
rep_compile.sh
export PATH=/app/oradshome/jdk/bin:/app/oradshome:$PATH
echo "Compiling ClassReportGenerator.java ClassScheduler.java"
javac -verbose ClassReportGenerator.java ClassScheduler.java
echo "Creating jar from manifest file"
jar -cvfm rep.jar manifest ClassReportGenerator.class ClassScheduler.class
echo "Executing repgen.sh"
sh repgen.sh
At the end it calls the repgen.sh file
which sets some path and class paths and then takes some user inputs and fires the command
paths being set---
export CLASSPATH=/dit/reports/rep.jar:$CLASSPATH
export PATH=/app/oradshome/jdk/bin:/app/oracle/OraHome/bin:$PATH
command being fired
java -jar rep.jar $userid $password $schema $scheduleafter firing the last lines it throws the error :
Warning: -jar not understood. Ignoring.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: rep.jar

Plaese help me in this regard.The Code is running fine on IBM AIX.

Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Illegal name:
I'm looking for some validation on this problem I'm experiencing with 1.4.2_05. I believe that java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass() was cleaned up in this release to no longer accept class definitions that use the '/' as the separator character. Rather you actually have to follow the API specification and use the '.' character (go figure).
Using any JDK release before 1.4.2_04, I can use the slash character. I know that this particular usage is somewhat wrong, what I can't figure out is why there is no indication in the 1.4.2_05 release notes that this has changed. Does anyone actually know if this is something that was silently fixed in 1.4.2_05?
The exception I'm seeing:

There are some reported bugs on this topic too...4817264 (which is marked as dupe of 4471675, but I can't see that bug for some reason).
thanks!It appears that you're correct. I ran into this too, and with your additional
insight, I dug into java.lang.ClassLoader and decompiled (with jad) the
class from 1.4.2_03 and 1.4.2_05.
defineClass has this bit of code in it:
try
if(!checkName(s, false))
throw new NoClassDefFoundError("Illegal name: " + s);
class1 = defineClass0(s, abyte0, i, j, protectiondomain);
}The call (and definition) of checkName is in the 1.4.2_05 release, but not
in 1.4.2_03. checkName disallows slash characters:
private boolean checkName(String s, boolean flag)
if(s == null || s.length() == 0)
return true;
if(s.indexOf('/') != -1)
return false;
return flag || s.charAt(0) != '[';
