CS-MARS report/query to build policy

Hi, I'm looking for a CS-MARS report for the policy building.
In other words I need a report/query to know the sessions ranked by session number, to allow the access-list building
thnak you in advance
RS

You can generate query reports like "Sessions ranked by time" by pushing the time range to 24 hours, similarly "sessions ranked by session number" can be generated by specifying session number range. MARS also has pre-defined reports like "Activity: Web Usage - Top Sources" that can help you.

  • Function in report query builder

    Hi,
    It is possible to call a function in the select statement of a report query builder as followed :
    select my_func()
    from my_table
    The function is defined as :
    create or replace my_func() return vachar2 is
    v_temp vachar2(100);
    begin
    v_temp := 'column_1, column_2, column_3';
    return(v_temp);
    end;
    Therefore, the query should be interpreted as:
    select column_1, column_2, column_3
    from my_table
    and the fields "column_1", "column_2" and "column_3" with the same alias name would be created for the report.
    Thank you,
    DS

    Ok. Here is the way!
    Create user parameter p_query. Datatype Character. Width 10000. Set initial value as
    select RPAD('n',10) c1, RPAD('n',10) c2, RPAD('n',10) c3 from dual
    ** Suppose type of column 1, 2 and 3 is character and maximum length can be 10. So using this in above select statement.
    Get value in After Parameter Form trigger
    begin
    :p_query := yourfuntion;
    return(true);
    end;
    data model will have only this:
    &p_query
    Now you will see three columns in data model
    c1
    c2
    c3
    NOW error ORA-24333 can appear, when function/procedure doesn't return back anything for data model, I mean lexical parameter p_query is empty.
    ** You can replace whole select statement with lexical parameter.

  • Report query with bind variable

    Trying to create a report query for xsl-fo print. For output format I pick "derive from item" then pick the item name from the list, on the next screen, I paste the query with the bind variable. on the next step test query, I always get "data not found" regardless what value I type in. This is the same query that I ran under sql commands without any issues.
    Does anyone run into the same issue as I have when attempted to create a query with bind var ? There is no problem creating a query without bind varibles. . thanks.
    Munshar

    Hi, please did you get any solution to this issue? I am having similar challenge right now.
    select     EMP.DEPTNO as DEPTNO,
         DEPT.DNAME as DNAME,
         EMP.EMPNO as EMPNO,
         EMP.ENAME as ENAME,
         EMP.JOB as JOB,
         EMP.MGR as MGR,
         EMP.HIREDATE as HIREDATE,
         EMP.SAL as SAL
    from     SCOTT.DEPT DEPT,
         SCOTT.EMP EMP
    where EMP.DEPTNO=DEPT.DEPTNO
    and      DEPT.DNAME =upper(:dname)
    This run perfectly in sql developer, toad, and even inside publisher if I login directly to publisher to create report.
    Generating this same query in shared component query builder and testing it returns no data found. If I remove the last line, it works. but with the last line, it return no data found. It seems no one has been able to provide solution to this issue

  • Report region with column link that opens a pdf doc based on report query

    Hello
    I'm building a report table that displays info about a customer - simple select - and, for each record, has associated column links based on report queries that receive ID as parameter. When clicked, it opens the report in pdf extension. My problem here is how to pass the ID as a parameter to that report query considering i'm using a report table and that there are no items in page 71...
    This is the report query i'm using:
    select initcap(a.customer) customer
    , initcap(a.address) address
    , initcap(a.rep) rep
    , (select initcap(b.city)
    from portal_records b
    where b.contrib=a.contrib
    and b.year=to_char(sysdate,'yyyy')) city
    , (to_char(a.datereg,'dd')||' de '||to_char(a.datereg,'Month')||' de '||to_char(a.datereg,'yyyy')) datereg
    from portal_authorizations_cve a
    where a.id=:P71_ID ???????????????
    I thank in advance all your replies!!

    Hello
    First of all, let me compliment your for your demo application... It's awesome!
    I've looked into your sample (page 15) and, as far as i see, it opens a document saved in a table's column. I don't want the file to be saved there but generated when the user clicks on that particular link... So i still have the problem of how to pass the right ID as a parameter considering there is no page item on that page...
    My javascript knowledge is little so i ask you: when clicking the link, is there any way of opening a window with the url f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=Authorization_CVE and the ID as a parameter?
    I thank in advance!

  • Forming a report query dynamically with the value of an item

    Hi Gurus,
    We wanted to create a report based on the value of an item in the page.
    For example
    There is a text box named p1_table depending on the value of this item the query of the report should change
    1) when p1_table = emp then report query should be select * from emp
    2) when p1_table = dept then report query should be select * from dept
    I tried doing this using
    select * from :p1_table and select * from v('p1_table') , it is not working.
    Kindly help me in achieving the requirement.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vikas Krishna

    Hi Vikas,
    You have to do this as a report based on a function that returns the query as a string. You build up the string dynamically in the function.

  • Function Returning SQL in BI Publisher Report Query

    I have a report that is based on a SQL Query (PL/SQL Function body returning SQL query). The code is below. I am now trying to create a PDF version of the report using BI Publisher in APEX. When I try to build the Report Query shared component I get a syntax error when entering this code. Does anyone know if it is possible to create a Report Query from a SQL Query (PL/SQL Function body returning SQL query) and if so, how?
    v_sql varchar2(4000);
    begin
    select apexim.exec_summ_bymonth_sql ('D', :p260_time_frame, 12, nvl(:p260_population_sel, 'All'), nvl(:p260_region_sel, 'All'), nvl(:p260_oper_state_sel, 'All'))
    into v_sql
    from dual;
    return(v_sql);
    end;.

    Thanks for the suggestion Simon.
    I just created a view based on the 46-column SELECT statement from dual above and then set "SELECT * FROM myview" as the Source Query.
    Unfortunately I get exactly the same error.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • How do I reference columns in a report query from another report query?

    In Apex 3.1 it is possible to generate a report on more than one query. I have read that these queries can be correlated, but I cannot find how in the documentation.
    I go the Shared Components and create a new Report Query:
    select * from dept
    Then I click Add Query and I add:
    select * from emp
    How do I correlate these two queries (I want to join emp.deptno to dept.deptno) and have a nice hierarchicle XML-file.
    Is it possible in Apex 3.1?
    Dik Dral

    Dik,
    This type of query can't be build. The two queries are independent, you can't reference values in the first query from the second query. However you can reference page and application items - which won't help you all that much with this scenario though. You could also try combining the two queries into one, and then take care of the proper presentation in your template.

    Marc

  • Conditional SQL in Report Query

    How can I code a conditional SQL in the Report query builder
    to include a WHERE clause parameter or not, depending on the value
    of a report parameter? Basically, what I want to do is:
    select field from table where x=1
    <cfif param.a eq 1>and a=1</cfif>
    Report builder does not like this, but I can't find any help
    on how to do this.

    I don't think CFML tags may be used like that in the SQL of
    report query. But then, I'm not very much into reports. If you're
    just out to get the result, then try
    select field from table
    where
    (x=1 and #param.a# <> 1) or (x=1 and #param.a#=1 and
    a=1)

  • Setting pl/sql procedure as the data source in a Report Query

    Is there a way to set PL/SQL as the data source in a Report Query? we want to
    able to use the ReportQuery function and query results returned by a PL/SQL procedure.
    thanks

    Not exactly sure what you want to do, but on a ReportQuery you can set either a StoredProcedureCall, or an SQLCall.
    query.setCall(new StoredProcedureCall(...));
    query.setCall(new SQLCall("begin; my_proc(); end"));
    Now, a stored procedure in Oracle cannot return a result, so using a ReportQuery which requires a result may not make sense.
    You could instead use a DataModifyQuery.
    If you return results through output parameters (you must use a StoredProcedureCall for this) you could use a DataReadQuery or a ReadAllQuery/ReportQuery if you wish to build objects from the data.

  • Dynamic Reports. Runtime parameter passing to Report Query.

    Hi everyone,
    I have developed a report using apex shared components (report query and report layout) along with BI Publisher for report printing in pdf format. the Report template is built using Template Builder for Word. I have configured my Apex4.1 env with BI Publisher 11.
    This report is working fine for hardecode ID ( like REQUEST_ID=10 ).
    to make report dynamic i have made following additions in the report
    I have added
    where clause in report query as WHERE REQUEST_ID = :REQUEST_ID (:REQUEST_ID is the text field in my page).
    Added a text field names :REQUEST_ID to get user input at run time.
    Create a button and add Repot Query URL in its properties.
    When i run the report with some valid value in :REQUEST_ID text field  i did not get expected result infect there is no record getting displayed in the PDF file.
    i think this is not the write way to do this but interestingly im not getting any error.
    please can someone guide me that how can i get this functionality in apex this way or the other ?
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
    the online help will help you on how to build a parameter list at all. For your desired functionality, all you need to do is to have the user pressing a button after he selected the parameters he want to assign values to and then create the parameter list in a PSLQL program unit in Forms.

  • CS-MARS: Report of inactive reporting devices?

    Hi,
    Is there a report or a way to create a report in CS-MARS(5.3.3), to list the actual inactive reporting devices. The report I found list only a graph with the amounth of inactive devices in time. I like to see a list with devicenames (or IP addresses). We have over 500 devices in MARS.
    Hope someone can help me out.
    Regards, Robbert

    Test with a query first:
    query type: "Destination IPs ranked by Sessions"
    Events: "Inactive CS-MARS reporting device"
    Time Range: last 1 hour
    You'll probably want to exclude some devices using a != in the device column.
    If the query looks right, click "save as report".

  • Enhancement Req (v4.0): Report Query- Output Format- Derive from Item

    Brief Introduction
    I have 1 major request I would like to make (and 2 lesser ones). The first, I would like to specify custom available output formats for 'Report Query' objects, as well as Reports Regions, Interactive Reports, etc. I believe that this could easily be an instance setting in the Report Server region of the internal workspace, or per workspace / application. Even if not supported on the system wide level, I would recommend that the "Derived from Item" output format "Return Value" be allowed to be returned unaltered to the Report Server. I know that the type is returned as "_xf", and for my purposes I would REALLY like to be able to get something other than the defaults.
    Use Case
    I am creating a custom JasperReports integration (for which I will be launching a public SaaS beta extremely soon). It uses the standard Apex reporting objects (Queries, Layouts, Print Buttons, etc). JasperReports templates are uploaded as Report Layouts and everything works fine. I am, however, wanting to implement as many output formats as are available to me in Jasper...that means Word 07, Excel 07, ODS, ODT, etc. For the items that take a print server override I can handle this in other ways (even though this appears broken [see below]), but for the standard report queries this isn't available. I would basically like the option to define the set of available output formats for the report server, and what the "_xf" returned for each one is.
    Minor Requests
    - Replace Uploaded Templates: If a template is used often and updated, then it has to be changed everywhere...minor irritation.
    - Customize Report Server URL for the Workspace or Application: For SaaS instances, workspace developers may license or have access to reporting solutions that are not (and should not be) available to all of the Oracle instance's workspaces, or may conflict with a service that is already provided by the instance administrators.
    Broken
    When I use the print server override, with the "Use Headers From" option, it appears that neither my content type, nor my content disposition headers are being sent back to the client. This is the work around solution for the non-standard types issue I am requesting enhancement on, so I would like to know what I can do to get this working immediately.
    Additional Info
    As it stands, if the site is available, feel free to sign up for the beta. The beta keys will be exported soon to the instance and made available. Instructions on setup will also follow:
    https://apex.vendelinc.com/apex/f?p=home

    Hi, please did you get any solution to this issue? I am having similar challenge right now.
    select     EMP.DEPTNO as DEPTNO,
         DEPT.DNAME as DNAME,
         EMP.EMPNO as EMPNO,
         EMP.ENAME as ENAME,
         EMP.JOB as JOB,
         EMP.MGR as MGR,
         EMP.HIREDATE as HIREDATE,
         EMP.SAL as SAL
    from     SCOTT.DEPT DEPT,
         SCOTT.EMP EMP
    where EMP.DEPTNO=DEPT.DEPTNO
    and      DEPT.DNAME =upper(:dname)
    This run perfectly in sql developer, toad, and even inside publisher if I login directly to publisher to create report.
    Generating this same query in shared component query builder and testing it returns no data found. If I remove the last line, it works. but with the last line, it return no data found. It seems no one has been able to provide solution to this issue

  • Shared Components APEX Report Query and Layout

    Does anyone know how to call the report query and layout from the Shared components section from a page within the application?

    mtbdude40 wrote:
    What I need is this:  The ability to create a PDF report with a custom header defining the data (example - select * from emp where deptno = :deptno and the header includes the department name).
    I use this white paper as my source:  http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/learnmore/custom-pdf-reports-1953918.pdf
    You need to build and use a Shared Resource -> Report Queries.
    The Report Query will have two queries associated with it (see below).
    one query will be for the header information, the other will be for the data.
    use the "download" of the "xml data" as your source for Altova/other tools.
    If you add/remove/change queries, You'll have to redo your report (from scratch) as that changes the XML Schema required. (at least, with my experience)
    Once you get the hang of it, 2x queries is easy (Header, data)
    I've experimented with 3x queries (header, master,details) but have been unsuccessful.  I have some ideas though ("link" master->detail info via XPath stuff within Altova) but haven't gotten around to testing it.
    If you want to run the report for multiple departments....That might require some finesse.
    Unfortunately, the Source of the Queries can't be a scalar SQL that returns 1 row of 1 column of data type XMLType....

  • ORA-00904 - invalid identifier when adding new column to the report query

    Hi,
    I am trying to add a new field to an existing bespoke report query. When I click on ok, I get the following error
    message: "ORA-00904: <field name> : invalid identifier ==> <field_name>
    Any ideas what is causing this problem? Version of the report builder is : 6.0.8 and is connected to a 10.2 db.
    Any help appreciated.

    What is the field name ? Maybe a reserved word ? Change to "my_new_variable" to check...

  • Need help troubleshooting Report Query/BI Publisher

    Hi All --
    I need some help with an odd issue I'm having with a report query and BI Publisher. The users run this report by inputting a date range, usually by week. Oddly enough, if we input a date range of 06/01/2008 through 06/07/2008, the report runs and BI Publisher renders the document correctly, but if we input a date range of 06/08/2008 through 06/14/2008, the report shows correctly on the screen, but BI Publisher returns an empty document. I thought perhaps it was an issue with the data, but inputting the date range of 06/01/2008 through 06/14/2008 works correctly and the document is rendered with all the data as shown in the report.
    I'm really at a loss and don't know how to proceed in troubleshooting the issue. Does anyone know of any log files or anything else to look at to try and figure out why the report isn't being rendered correctly for that one week?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Marc --
    The OC4J logs don't show any errors at the time I tried running the report. I did change the output format to XML and saved it for the date range that doesn't work as well as a date range that does work. As foar as I can tell, the only differences is the data within the tags, but I'm no XML expert so I may have missed something. I opened my report template and loaded the xml data first from the date range that produces a rendered report properly and used preview...as expected it worked. When I did the same thing for the "bad" date range, I get the following set of errors, should I move my issue to the BI Publisher forum do you think?
