Action "Apply Assigned Imaging Bundle"

Version: 11.3.1
I need to run action "Apply Assigned Imaging Bundle" against several devices, is it possible to run this action against a device group? This option is greyed out, but just wanted to know if this can be done via a script or any other way to do this? Finding the device and ticking the box is not the quickest and easiest method when there are 100 devices to find.
Thanks
Richard

### Script applyImageDaily.sh
### Script read all members of a group, assign and apply image. This script is assign to the ZCM-Server itsself as a linux-script action.
### After the execution of this script, a WOL-action to a computer-group(can be another group) start and computers create an image.
### To prevent imaging to office start hours, a few minutes after execution of WOL I remove the image bundle from all clients.
### With this you can control imaging-actions from ZCC, without using of console

• Problems applying preboot imaging script bundle w/ 11.3.2

Hi all,
Just wondering if its just me with these issues.
I had our preboot imaging script bundle assigned to the Workstation folder within the ZCC, but since the update to 11.3.2 when attempting to apply the imaging script bundle to a device within the ZCC it throws an error saying that no imaging script bundle is assigned to the device. The only way to get around this issue has been for me to assign the preboot imaging script bundle to each device within our zone, not the folders they exist within.
Another issue I've had is if I select more than one device within the ZCC the action option "apply assigned imaging bundle" is greyed out. If I only select one device I am able to use that option again.
Can anyone else confirm if they're experiencing the same issues?
We're running 3x SLES 11 primaries running 11.3.2, all with the imaging role (our imaging script load balances between the three).
I've tried accessing the ZCC with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome and they all experience the same issue above.
Regards,
Matt

Hello Matt,
we are having the same issues. Did you contact Novell and opened a SR?
Regards,
Thomas
Hey Thomas,
We're on an educational licence so, unfortunately, we don't have any SRs to play with. Hopefully Anders has sent the issue trough to Novell.

• Apply Imaging Bundle to group \ folder?

This year we'd like to reimage our existing ZCM 11 clients using light-to-zero touch deployment methods. I've tweaked our existing imaging scripts to take account of the ISD data (no zisedit -c this time!) now would ideally like to use the ZCM Auto Preboot Services to kick it off.
Applying an Imaging Bundle (that contains my bash script) works OK on a single device but we want to do this go groups of machines. Please tell me I've missed something in the GUI as it currently seems I have to do it on each individual device object and that would just be silly?!

• How to assign dynamic image at runtime or on Button Action to a Image UI

Hi,
         Please let me know is it possible to assign Dynamic Images to Image UI element in a Visual Composer applications. Using Image Manager it is possible, but in my case Image Source i.e URL comes from ABAP RFC, so is it possible to assign Image at runtime.
        Please do let me know is it possible or not, If yes please do share your opinions.
I am able to show image using HTML Page by passing URL at runtime to HTML page but here, I cant control the Image width & height.
       I am checking for possibility of using some script to manage width & height.
       Thanks a Ton.

Please help!

I'm going to try and bring this thread back from the dead.  Buckle up, long post ahead.
Did you ever determine for sure that the issue was a system board?  I'm having a very similar issue with a machine.
I am trying to apply an image to a customer machine using ImageX, but keep running into error 1392.  This error would flag a different file every time, but always at 45-49% completion.
The image was provided by the customer in a PE image which was ghosted to multiple flash drives.  We have successfully applied the image to over 400 machines by first using disk part to clean the disk and create one ntfs partition.  We then run "Imagex.exe
/apply path_to_customer_image.wim 1 C:"
That is where this machine would find its hangup and spit out an imagex error 1392.
My initial reaction was to replace the HDD, so I did.  The issue was not resolved, so I tested the ram and CPU with no change.  I replaced the system board with a brand new one, and the issue persists!!  This is basically a new machine by now,
so I've pretty much ruled out hardware related possibilities.
Curious as to the customer's specification on creating just one partition in preparation for imaging, I experimented a little.  I shredded the HDD in Parted Magic and used its partition editor to ensure there were no existing partitions.
Using Disk Part from X: on the imaging flash drive, I cleaned the HDD (why not?) and created an initial ntfs partition of 100mb.  I labeled it "system" and assigned it letter S.  I then created a second ntfs partition of the remaining space,
labeled it "windows," and assigned it letter C.  This partition I marked as active.
I then ran chkdsk to scan for any possible drive errors.
This time, running Imagex, the process made it to 77% before failing with error 1392 (again, a seemingly random file).  Seeing as how the failures were previously consistently between 45% and 49%, I figured I was on to something.  I repeated all of
the disk prep steps above, making the "system" partition 500mb this time.
ImageX was a success!!  100% of the WIM was applied and I received no errors.  Fantastic.
I went to boot the machine and received an error that the boot files were missing.
I booted back into the PE drive and tried running bcdboot to pull boot files and apply to my active OS partition at C:, but I received another error stating that there was a failure attempting to transfer the boot files.  I ran again in verbose and received
an error code.  I cannot remember the error code for certain (I am currently cleaning the HDD), but according to my Google history, it was 0xc1.
Any ideas??  The machine is an HP EliteBook 8470p.
Update:  Parted Magic just crashed twice attempting to wipe the hard disk.  Once running from RAM, the second time running live from the USB.  This is new....

• Password-protected Sparse Disk Image Bundle remembered after eject

I use password-protected Sparse Disk Image Bundles to protect some files. Every now and then, when I open the image, it doesn't ask me for the password and opens immediately.
At first, I thought I may have inadvertantly agreed to save the password in Keychains. But that is not the case. After running some tests, I noticed it may take up to 3 ejects before it asks me for the password again. It seems to happen more when I modify files in the disk image, but not when I simply read files. I suspect it is not completely unmounting the image.
This is potentially a security issue. Any suggestion on what I can do short of re-ejecting images until it asks for a password again?

You may have successfully increased the sparsebundle's potential capacity while failing to resize the contained partition. That seems to be what happened when I tried this myself. A resized sparsebundle containing the same files would not occupy much more space on disk than it did before.
*Provided you have a backup*, you could try the following:
Remount the image, then run Disk Utility and select the .sparsebundle (non-indented icon) in the left pane. Click on the Partition tab, and then see if you can pull down the lower right corner of the disk image partition to increase its size. If you can, then drag it to the bottom and click Apply.
Again don't try this without a backup. It may not be worth doing in any event - it's easy enough just to make a new, bigger sparsebundle and copy your stuff over.

• Applying wrong imaging driver updates ....

ZENworks 11.3.2 Windows 2008 R2 SP1
Last night we upgraded from ZENworks 11 SP3 to 11.3.2
Applying Imaging Driver Update Feburary 2015 zenworks11.3.2_FRU1_Feb15.zip results in error message 'Applying wrong imaging driver update'
ZUpdate.sig on primary server where running the update says ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION 112403 - timestamps on certain folders in the tftp directory and in the share\preboot\update folder though indicate that updates did take place at the time of the upgrade.
Also a seconday server shows ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION 113200.
'Assuming' that only the ZUpdate.sig file didn't update on the primary server - would it be safe to manually update the ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION and then run the imaging update?
Thanks.

Before doing so... I would run a ZDC, just to check - could me more
than just this one file...

• How can I assign image file name from Main() class

I am trying to create library class which will be accessed and used by different applications (with different image files to be assigned). So, what image file to call should be determined by and in the Main class.
Here is the Main class
import org.me.lib.MyJNIWindowClass;
public class Main {
public Main() {
public static void main(String[] args) {
MyJNIWindowClass mw = new MyJNIWindowClass();
mw.s = "clock.gif";
And here is the library class
package org.me.lib;
public class MyJNIWindowClass {
public String s;
ImageIcon image = new ImageIcon("C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/" + s);
public MyJNIWindowClass() {
JLabel jl = new JLabel(image);
JFrame jf = new JFrame();
jf.add(jl);
jf.setVisible(true);
jf.pack();
I do understand that when I am making reference from main() method to MyJNIWindowClass() s first initialized to null and that is why clock could not be seen but how can I assign image file name from Main() class for library class without creating reference to Main() from MyJNIWindowClass()? As I said, I want this library class being accessed from different applications (means different Main() classes).
Thank you.

Your problem is one of timing. Consider this simple example.
public class Example {
        public String s;
        private String message = "Hello, " + s;
        public String toString() {
            return message;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Example ex = new Example();
            ex.s = "world";
            System.out.println(ex.toString());
}When this code is executed, the following happens in order:
1. new Example() is executed, causing an object to constructed. In particular:
2. field s is given value null (since no value is explicitly assigned.
3. field message is given value "Hello, null"
4. Back in method main, field s is now given value "world", but that
doesn't change message.
5. Finally, "Hello, null" is output.
The following fixes the above example:
public class Example {
        private String message;
        public Example(String name) {
            message = "Hello, " + name;
        public String toString() {
            return message;
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Example ex = new Example("world");
            System.out.println(ex.toString());
}

• Cannot apply OS image to lenovo with usb Ethernet

Greetings,
      We have a Windows 8.1 task sequence which works fine on over a dozen laptops that have an ethernet adapter. We recently acquired a Lenovo Helix machine that doesnt have an inbuilt adapter but has a usb ethernet adapter. I found the driver for this
and added it to our winpe image (we are using sccm 2012 r2, adk 8.1, winpe 5). When I use the same task sequence, it always fails on the apply OS image step. Relevant log entries here:

Does OSD have a problem with USB ethernet adapters? It appears so....
Thanks
David Z

Yes, it does have something to do with USB Ethernet. Before conclusion, we may check if there is a workaround or fix for this issue to make OSD work. So, please check the IP Info when the issue happens.
Another way is to use a Standalone media.

• How can I apply an image to a 2 piece 3D dome

Hi all, I'm very new to Photoshop CS5 so I am very gratefull for any help. I have a specific requirement which is to apply an image, pattern or text to a 3d dome. The dome is will be in two halfs and layed flat in 2d then printed off with the design so that when the two halves are joined together the image or pattern matches across the seam. Is this even possible? Any help gratefully recieved.
Thanks

Hi Myenium,
Thanks for your response which was very helpfull. I've added a bit more detail below in case it may alter your view on how this might be done. I shall look into those techneques you mention.
I had originally thought that 3D modelling with Photoshop was the answer as I could create the dome shape (imagine a beanie), unwrap it, using the 3d program, apply a texture in Photoshop bring it back into the 3d program to allow me to check it out in 3D then be able to print off two, 2d patterns onto fabric and then physically stich them together. The finished item would look like the 3d model and the image or design would match perfectly across the seam.
Again many thanks for your advice.

• Report User (groups) assigned to Bundles

Hi,
i need a report of users or user groups assigned to Bundles. I can create a report of Workstations assigned to Bundles. But the users are LDAP users, so they're not available in the user database of ZCM? Is there an option to report Bundles and there assigned LDAP Users or User Groups?
Regards,

• I need an action/script for image resizing with a "special" attribute

Having a headache, nothing work so far the way I want it...
So here's the deal: I have a bunch of psd files and I need them saved as jpegs in a fixed size - 450x590px.
The filename of the jpeg should be the same as each psd and the images should be resized proportionate.
The psds have irregular sizes, some are tall, some are square, some are wide, etc.
I tried using the place function on a template, but that requires my input - choose what to place, then type the filename.
Any ideas?
Thank you for your input!

So have both Portrait and Landscape images with varying size. and want to create jpeg from them that are 450x590 pixels in size.  Can the have Portrait and Landscape orientations.  If they all must be Portraits 450px wide by 590px high  your landscape images composition will not fair well.  For cropping landscape image to portraits image normally crops away  to much image content.   Content aware scale may work somewhat better then cropping to portrait the introduced distortion may be acceptable.
If Portrait 450x590px and Landscape 590x450px is an acceptable solution.  I would go with a cropping solution for there will be no distortion and centered crop composition are usually acceptable.   It can also be done with a two step action used by an image processor script.  If you download my crafting action package. It has a plug-in script that can be recorded in an action to set a 45:59 centered aspect ratio selection which you follow with an Image Crop step.  You run the Image Processor  script have the action make the crop and the Image processor to resize the crop to fit into a 590x590px area.

• Error with buttons in an interactive PDF with "go to URL" action applied

Hello, I am having an issue with buttons in an interactive PDF, specifically buttons that have a “go to URL” action applied to them. Most of the buttons in the document work fine and link out correctly however, some of the linked buttons InDesign is adding spaces to the end of the url, which the browser interprets as “%20” and breaks the link i.e. (http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/indesign_reference.pdf%20). The added space effects multiple buttons in my document seemingly randomly, potential Bug? When the added space is deleted from the URL via the Button and Forms Panel’s URL field it is re-added by InDesign upon deselecting the button. Obviously the links can be updated in acrobat after export, but this is tedious and time consuming. Any help that can be provided would be much appreciated. Thanks!

But I have InDesign documents with sometimes 60-100 buttons in them. Previously I had to do nothing other save out of InDesign as an interactive PDF - perfect, with no editing in Acrobat at all apart from for a couple of document javascripts. It also applies to any interactive element. Buttons that are used for “show/hide” with others to create reveals and builds etc. Buttons that link to other pages within the document.
InDesign allows master page interactive buttons… make once use many times, Acrobat allows individual and painstaking editing of however many pages and buttons there are in the document, sometimes hundreds.
The solution is, until Adobe do a decent job of DC to revert to Pro XI and pretend its never happened.

• Actions menu wheel image and Go button image

Hello ,
In APEX 4 Interactive Reports, the actions menu wheel image and the go button are coming as html buttons instead of the wheel image and go button image.
Is there a way I can rever to the old wheel img and go button .
Thanks,
Dippy

Within the IR, under Search Bar, you can set Actions Menu Image to '/i/ws/action_32x24.gif' - this is the green wheel but does not have little arrow. I will contact our image guru and see if the old one is sitting somewhere. As for 'Go', this does not support an image but you can change the word if you need to (using Search Button Label) and set a button template to match your application.

• Load Images Bundled in a SWC At Runtime?

If I have a SWC that has some images bundled into it that was
created using the compc compiler like:
compc -o=images.swc -include-file img1.png img1.png
Is there a way to load it into Flash at runtime and use the
Images?
The reason I'm doing this is that I want to allow an image
library to be dynamically loaded at runtime that has images which I
do not have at compile time.

Use code tags to post codes --
CODE
will display asCODEOr click the CODE button and paste your code between the {code} tags that appear.
