Hi,
Nice to see your reply, we got this error in R/3 it self, when we are trying to excuting SAP Standard BAPI we are getting this error "Employee/applicant is not locked yet". I think this is bug from SAP itself, do you have any idea about this one? is there any settings we need to do in R/3 for resolving this one or else is there any data we need to maintaine for our Employee Records.
Please resolve my issue.

• ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?
Best regards,
Steven

Hi Abhishek,
This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.
Thanks in advance.

• Usage of update-bapi and getdetail-bapi within one view

Hello,
i'm a student and i'm new to webdynpro and abap. Im trying to get data through a bapi into some screens and want to update some of these inputfields back through an update-bapi.
I get all the needed data by a getdetails-bapi and can show the data within binded inputfields, but how could i get the infos about which field was changed and how could i implement an update through the update-bapi?
It is possible, that a view with two inputfileds gets the data through the getdetails-bapi and after a change in this fields there will be an update through a update-bapi, after pushing a button?
Could you give me an example code, or could you explane me a way for implementing these?
Thanks for your help!
John

Hi John,
changes made at Contexts are stored in a table WDR_CONTEXT_CHANGE_LIST. So you can retrieve the old and new values from the table.
Please follow the below steps :
1. Create a context node (Ex:Changes) with dict.str wdr_context_change.
2. Then create one subnode under Changes ex(details) with two attributes old_value and new_value with the type of string.
3. Then write the below code at any button action.
DATA: l_ref_componentcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller .
DATA: l_changes                 TYPE        wdr_context_change_list,
l_subnode                 type ref to if_wd_context_node,
l_subnodedata             type if_USERLOG=>element_details.
field-symbols: <change> type wdr_context_change,
<new>    type data,
<old>    type data.
l_ref_componentcontroller =   wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).
l_changes = l_ref_componentcontroller->get_changes( ).
data: l_node type ref to if_wd_context_node.
l_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'CHANGES' ).
l_node->bind_table( l_changes ).
loop at l_changes assigning <change>.
if <change>-old_value is not initial and <change>-new_value is not initial.
l_subnode = l_node->get_child_node( index = sy-tabix name = 'DETAILS' ).
assign <change>-new_value->* to <new>.
assign <change>-old_value->* to <old>.
*        l_subnodedata-new_value_string = cl_wdr_conversion_utils=>to_string( value = <new> ).
*        l_subnodedata-old_value_string = cl_wdr_conversion_utils=>to_string( value = <old> ).
l_subnodedata-new_value_string = <new>.
l_subnodedata-old_value_string = <old>.
*        l_subnodedata-new_value_string = 'AC'.
*        l_subnodedata-old_value_string = 'CD'.
l_subnode->bind_structure( l_subnodedata ).
endif.
endloop.
So now your context has the changed records.
Thanks.

BAdIs Concept
Use
BAdIs or Business Add-Ins are used to create predefined enhancement options in the SAP ERP components, which are then appropriately implemented by the individual industry solutions, country variants, or even by partners and customers.
Classic BAdIs have been present in ABAP-based SAP systems since Release 4.6. In contrast to the enhancement technology used up to then (for example, function module exits,) BAdIs are based on ABAP objects.
The reimplementation of BAdIs for Release 7.0 had two main goals:
· By integrating the BAdIs in the ABAP programming language through the new language elements GET BADIand CALL BADI, their performance was considerably enhanced.
· The new BAdIs provide more flexibility in the conversion of predefined enhancement options through new, orthogonal properties such as contexts and filters.
The new ABAP language elements and their additions ensure that these additional options can be used comfortably in ABAP programs. Within the Enhancement Framework, a new BAdI is always meant by the term BAdI. If there is explicit reference to the previous BAdI concept, such BAdIs are referred to as classic BAdIs.
Definition of BAdIs
Use
When you define a BAdI, you must specify a name, a BAdI interface as the interface for the enhancement option, and the required filters. The name of a BAdI is in the same namespace as data types from the ABAP Dictionary, global classes, or interfaces. It is recommended that you use suitable prefixes, such as “BADI_”.
A filter consists of a filter name and a data type (integer, string, and so on).
In addition, you also define BAdI properties that are relevant at runtime of a program with the appropriate statements GET BADI and CALL BADI. For more information, see Instance Generation Mode and Multiple Use.
Other properties that can be assigned to a BAdI include:
● An optional fallback BAdI implementation class. This option is used if no BAdI implementation with suitable filter conditions and no standard implementation is found.
● Whether the BAdI is internal or not.
An internal BAdI must only be implemented by SAP and is not visible outside of SAP.
● Whether the BAdI is a function code or screen enhancement.
A BAdI that is defined as a function code enhancement must not have any filters, must not be defined for multiple use, or assigned to any switch. It may contain methods that are independent of the actual function code enhancement.
A BAdI that is defined as a screen enhancement must be defined in the instance generation mode for the reused instantiation and must not be defined for multiple use. It may contain BAdI methods that can be used to fill or evaluate the screen fields of the respective subscreens.
Calling BAdIs
Use
After their definition and independent of an implementation, BAdIs can be called using a combination of the ABAP statements GET BADI and CALL BADI:
· GET BADI FILTERS f1=x1 ... fn=xn – selects the BAdI implementations whose filter condition is met by the filter values specified in the statement. The BAdI implementation classes assigned to the selected implementations are instantiated and passed to a simultaneously created BAdI object which serves as a handle for the implementation.
· CALL BADI badi->meth – addresses the BAdI object which passes the call of BAdI methods to the object plug-ins known to the BAdI handle.
For detailed information about these statements, see the ABAP Keyword Documentation.
In the context of the Enhancement Framework, the above statements together form the enhancement spot element calls of an explicit enhancement option. Conceptually, they are part of the definition of an enhancement option.
Procedure
For a multiple-use BAdI, several implementations can be called one after the other using CALL BADI. The sequence in which several object plug-ins are called consecutively is the same in repeated calls, but it can be determined in advance in the BADI_SORTER enhancement spot using the predefined BAdI BADI_SORTER:
1. Create the new implementation BADI_SORTER.
2. Enter the name of the BAdI whose object plug-ins you want to call in a sorted sequence as the filter condition for the BADI_NAME filter.
3. Create a screen enhancement to query any kind of sort criterion.
The Enhancement Builder then displays this subscreen with each implementation of the BAdI to be sorted.
4. Implement the methods of the BAdI interface IF_BADI_SORTER according to your sort criteria in the BAdI implementation class.
Without this procedure, the sequence is undefined.
Reward me if its useful.
Regards
Abhay.

• Need help in work order save BADI and create BAPI

hi expert
Our issues are below list
1. When release and save the work order ,the standard BADI(WORKORDER_UPDATE) have not the parameters about service information . (for this issue , chunfai had give a solution ,we are testing it )
2. When we create work order by BAPI(BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN), the BAPI canu2019t provide the parameters about service information .we canu2019t create WO including service data.
3. When we update work order by BAPI(BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN), the BAPI canu2019t provide the parameter about service information . we canu2019t update WO including service data.
could anyone can provide some suggestion for above question ? thanks for a lot

Please check BADI IBAPI_ALM_ORD_MODIFY its method has a parametrs CT_HEADER_SRV and CT_HEADER_SRV_UP you can pass your data here...
Lets say this BAPI you are calling in custom program than if you donot see any parametrs where service data can be passed then you can export the data before calling bapi and import in this badi implementation and complete your task..
Please check BAPI and BADI documentation for more details
Even BAPi has these two parameters.

• Drag and Drop BAPI service to workspace not allowed

Hi guru,
I'm following the VC modeler guide and try to make the first example (Sales Order) work.
After overcome some Sytem alias and Usermapping issue on Portal side, I finally can see a list of BAPI service when I click "Find Data" and then choose my client. Now I can search and see the BAPI_SALESORDER_.... services in the list.
However, I drag one of them to worksapce,..the mouse icon always shows "not allow(like traffic sign)" and I cannot add any BAPI service to my model.
Anyone encountered the same issue before ?
Anything I forget to enable ? ...like permission...
Thanks

Hi,
You cannot drag a BAPI directly to VC story board. Create an iview and drill down it and then add BAPI into that iview.

• Synchronous and Asynchronous BAPI

Hi All,
Like BDC do we have any options to update the database using BAPI synchronously or asynchronously? In BAPI which approach do we go for and is there a way that we can specify these update modes in BAPI like call transaction.
Please help.
Regards,
MD.

Hi
Synchronous BAPIs
Synchronous BAPIs are generally used to read data from a remote logical system, for example to display a customer list.
Before calling the BAPI, it is therefore necessary to determine the RFC destination of the remote system or the BAPI server. The application developer has access to an API for determining the RFC destination of the BAPI.
Asynchronous BAPIs
Asynchronous BAPIs are generally used for replicating data on one or more logical systems, for example to distribute article master data.
To implement an asynchronous data transfer with a BAPI, an ALE IDoc interface must be generated. This interface controls all of the data communication between logical systems using IDoc technology. The application then calls the generated ALE IDoc interface locally instead of the BAPIs.
As with synchronous BAPIs, the corresponding logical systems of the BAPI must be determined before you call the ALE-IDoc interface. These are transferred to the ALE-IDoc interface as input parameters.

• Decoupled Infotype - Correct Buffer Access for PA30 and from BAPI?

Weu2019ve created a custom decoupled infotype and read/delete/update/insert work just fine with PA30, but the same methods supplied with the corresponding Check class do not work when called from a program. The Check class inherits from CL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_NNNN. After going through some documentation, we made the Check class inherit from CL_HRPA_INFTY_NNNN and now the modify method works if we redefine the modify method to use the direct buffer update methods from IF_HRPA_MASTERDATA_BUFFER (implementation in CL_HRPA_MASTERDATA_BUFFER). But then, PA30 stops working and throws an exception - u201CInfotype does not support legacy accessu201D.
Anyone know why the SAP generated infotype check class methods not work when called as it is? There are no error messages thrown and no messages returned in the message handler too. Just that the database does not get updated. The Read method always works for all cases though. Help documentation is clear about the risks and differences between the two buffer access methods but issues exist when using PA30 and when trying to access/update the buffer from a program or BAPI.

Since you are adopting an approach per [SAP help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/43/21d2254bba2bebe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm], I guess only SAP can help. May be you should try your luck by opening a Customer message (i.e. if you haven't already done so).

hi Gurus,
I am creating an application where I am calling a BAPI.
Now my problem is that the values should be called and displayed when I am starting the application ie in the first view itself.
Is there any way to execute the BAPI so as to retrieve the values from back end and get the values displayed in the initial screen/view.

please help me how to go ahead.

Hi
Create a method in controller and insert the code,
wdContext.current<BAPI>Element().modelObject().execute();
And call the method in view, and check the size of BAPI's output node.If it is greater than 0, your BAPI is returning something. using any loop and get the Output
