CS4 - original dialog boxes instead of adjustments panels?

Is it possible to have the original curves or levels (or whatever) dialog boxes open when double clicking adjustment layers, or are we stuck with the adjustments panels? The original dialog boxes, which are the same as those that can still be accessed via the standard ctrl-m, ctrl-l, are larger and allow finer adjustments.
I know I can enlarge the new adjustments panels a bit, but they are still 30-40% smaller than the original dialog boxes from CS3 and earlier.
I guess my question boils down to whether or not we can turn off the new adjustments panels?
Thanks,
Chuck

It's true that the new Adjustment Curves panel is smaller than the "non-layered" Curves panel but the important part - the actual curves grid - can be made identical in size. In other words, the new Adjustment panel has less clutter!

    I would like to use the windows explorer open dialog box instead of the adobe open dialog box. How can I change that?

    The top screenshot is the Windows Open dialog box. All File > Open... commands in all Windows programs bring it up.   Try File > Open in Notepad for example.
    It belongs to Windows not Adobe. You cannot change this because there is no such thing as an Adobe Open dialog box.
    The bottom screenshot is Windows Explorer. It is Windows' OS File Browser, not an Open dialog.  It is not called up by Photoshop or any Windows program.
    You have to click on "My Computer" or a Folder icon to get to it. You can double-click a psd, jpeg or other image file in the Explorer window so that it opens in Photoshop.
    There is Adobe Bridge and Minibridge   Alt + Ctrl + O or File > Browse in Bridge

  • Anyway to bring up a file dialog box on a remote panel

    A user is requesting a file dialog box to be opened.  The problem is his program is on a remote system, and I'm utilizing remote panels to bring the app to his control console.  File dialogs don't seem to work, for mostly obvious reasons.  Other dialog boxes appear just fine.  Is there anyway to provide a file dialog box of the remote panel's computer's file structure?  Or do I need to build in the feature?

    Doing a search on "remote panel file dialog" gave me a bunch of hits.
    In one of the threads, there was a link to File dialog to use in Remote Panel applications

  • CS4 Program Dialog Box Buttons Unclickable

    I am running Windows Vista 64-bit and just installed and updated Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium. It seems that I am unable to use my mouse buttons to click on anything that pops up in a dialog type box (other than the X to close it) in all the programs in the suite (premiere, soundbooth, etc.). The mouse works fine in what I will refer to as the work area. I can navigate the dialog boxes with the tab and enter keys of my keyboard but it's kind of annoying. Anybody come across this before with CS4 or Vista?

    Bob and Dov,
    Thank you for your quick responses to my post. I was just using generic windows drivers apparently so I took your advice and downloaded and installed Vista 64 bit drivers for my Logitech 470 optical mouse. The new drivers didn't seem to make a difference. I have done some more testing. What happens is when I first open Premiere, I can click anywhere on the buttons at the 'Welcome to Adobe Premiere Pro' and they seem to work as expected, except I have to be at the lower right corner to click the new project button. All the buttons on the next screen 'New Prject' seem to work fine. If I click OK a dialog box 'Save As' comes up and I cannot mouse click anywhere to get the Yes or No buttons to respond. I can continue on if I hit tab, then enter. At the 'New Sequence' screen I cannot click in the area to change the name of the sequence, the OK button works fine, and if I try to click on the cancel button it scrolls the area on the lower part of the screen down instead (the area with setting information in it). I also cannot click on the scroll bar in that area. Once I mouse click OK past that everything in the work area seems fine to click with the mouse. Even bringing up boxes like preferences and such from the drop down menus seem to work fine with the mouse. A similar thing happens in Soundbooth. I haven't checked all the programs out but it's pretty weird and seems to at least span more than one program in CS4 but not affect every pop up box. I haven't noticed any similar issues with any other programs I'm running.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 won't open local php files. It opens the save as text dialog box instead.

    When I try to open a local php file on my MAC hard drive with FF 3.6.8, the save file dialog box opens instead. It says: You have chosen to open index.php which is a TextEdit.app Document. I do not have this problem with Firefox 3.5.11.
    I have tried:
    opening the file directly from Firefox as well as
    double clicking the file (which is the most common way).
    I have also tried changing the file "open with" preference to "open with Firefox." That did not work either.
    Any help on this would be appreciated.
    I'm on a MAC OS 10.5.8
    Thnx, Nick

    You have to delete mimeTypes.rdf.

  • Can I define the filepath in "TDMS Open" through a dialog box instead of an explicit definition?

    I'm trying to access a TDMS datafile with "TDMS Open", but I can't ensure that it will always be in the same place.  I've got code that does what I want with the datafile, but I'd really like a dialog box that will generate the filepath.  I'd like to be able to navigate to where the file is, and when selected, define the filepath.
    I've seen this in other vis (if the filepath is left blank, it asks you for the file), but not here. Any thoughts on how to replicate it here?

  • Text dialog box instead of Report tab

    I'm using TS3.5 and customizing the LabVIEW version of the OI.  I would like to do two things.  (1) Make the Test Sequence and Test Execution tabs visible at all times.  Currently, the Execution tab (along with the Report tab) appear when "Test UUT" is selected or Executions is selected in the Listbox to the left of the SequenceView control. (2) I would like the report information to appear on the Sequence and Executions tabs as a Text Dialog box, to the right of the SequenceView control (that currently displays Step,Status,Flow Control).
    Can someone get me started?

    Hey Mr. Bean,
    1) There is a subvi called Configure Event Callbacks in the block diagram.  Inside of here there is a callback VI for the UIMessage handling.  It is called Page Change CBack.  Inside of there you'll see a subvi called Show Appropriate Tabs.  This is where the tabs are being set for which one is shown.  You can tweak this code to do what you expect.
    2) You can just copy and paste the ReportView control onto the execution Tab.  You will have to change some things in the block diagram to get it to look right.  Like the code in resize controls subvi so that your execution control doesn't overshadow the new reportview control  and you'll most likely have to make the new reportview control ConnectReportView.  You can see how this is done by looking at the other one.

  • Click a Link and open the save-as dialog box instead of browser opening it

    Basically, i have a link to an image and when i click it the browser opens the image. I would prefer that when i click the link to the image that i get some sort of save functionality to occur.
    I created a link to the Google logo so it looks like Google image when clicked the browser opens the image. What i would like to do is click the link and then have the save-as dialog pop up (or something similar). Currently I would either have to right click the opened image and save image as or right click the link and then save-as that way. In this instance the file doesn't reside on the database but an external source so is there a way to save-as dialog once the link is clicked?

    Sorry, I have no idea what you are doing; can you give us some details?

  • When I try to open a PSD file, Photoshop opens the new file dialog box instead

    This does not happen with all files, but I have a few that have become corrupted it seems. I have previously opened, edited and saved these files without any difficulty, but now they will not open.
    This is what Photoshop shows when I try to open the files
    For the affected files, it does not matter if I open my Library and click on the file, or click File>Open within Photoshop. The same thing happens.
    If I click OK, then a blank file opens.
    Any ideas on how to fix the file?

    These file may be corrupt if Photoshop CS6 works otherwise.  If you upload them to a file sharing server and post a link to them I will download them and see if I can open them in the versions of Photoshop I have installed on my machines.

  • New Folder link in Ribbon menu, load home page instead of open Folder Name dialog box

    In SharePoint 2013,
    I have created new site collection under "\sites" managed path. Then I have created Sub-Site called "\sites\abc\Mobile" under it.
    Now,
    Site collection - http://sharepointweb/sites/abc and
    Sub-Site - http://sharepointweb/sites/abc/Mobile
    Site Template: Team Site / Publishing Site
    After creation of the above, go to sub-site -> click on "Document" library -> Click on "New Folder" under "File" tab.
    when click on New Folder link, it shows home page in dialog box instead of new folder name popup.
    This is only happening for "Mobile" named sub-site under "/sites" managed path. Please try from your side and let me know.
    May I know what the issue is? Please clarify.

    Hi and welcome to the Blackberry Forums
    1) When ever I have a message notification (be it missed call one or an sms alert),
    it becomes difficult navigating in the "Messages" box : the reason is it opens
    always in the last place where I left it. So I have to press Menu & then scroll down
    to "View Folder" (pressing "v" also helps) & then it says "Select Folder".
    Not, when you have a new message and you go to the message folder you can see the last place where you left, but if you press T (top) you can see the new messages. (always the new messages are in the top and you can't change this)
    2) How to change the HOME PAGE of the Browser.
    Go to the browser, one you are in press menu, options, browser configuration, and you can change the home page on bottom.
    3) to extend the battery life, I read that all applications should be closed using the
    "Close" option in its Menu. To see which all applications are currently running, one
    should check on "Switch Application" - if you see application their, then it is open.
     The problem I am having is some applications (appearing in S/A mode) I was able
    to close (eg games etc), but some are not getting closed eg :messages, browser,

  • How do I get a dialog box to reappear?

    I'm trying to write an application where
    1. There is an opening frame. The user can click a 'start' button which
    opens the first of a series of dialog boxes.
    2 Each of these dialog boxes has a user input field and buttons 'next' 'back' and 'cancel' , to step forward/backward through user input , or to cancel & return to the opening frame.
    3. As each dialog box opens up , the preceeding one should be hid.
    4. If the user clicks 'back' , the current box should close and the
    preceeding one should reopen.
    Straightforward enough and I've got this working at the start of the progam
    for the transition between the opening frame and the first dialog box, by
    doing this:
    in the opening frame...
    //start button..
    this.setVisible(false);
    Dialog001 d001 = new Dialog001(this,"",true);
    d001.setVisible(true);;
    and in the code in the dialog box d001, for the '<< back' button..
    void button1_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    dispose();
    super.getOwner().setVisible(true);
    *********** so far so good : everything works OK **************
    The problem is when I repeat this in the second dialog box , the
    first dialog box doesn't reappear.
    I have looked in the books and tries various things, but no good
    so far
    How do I get the previous dialog box to reappear?
    Also, how will the 'cancel' button work in the second (and subsequent)
    dialog boxes (instead of the preceeding dialog box reappearing, the
    original opening frame should reappear) ?
    Thanks in advance

  • Any way to see ICONS in Open and Close Dialog boxes?

    Is there any way to see ICONS in Open and Close Dialog boxes, instead of just lists of items names?
    I know you can preview one at a time, but I'd love to see all my artwork as picture icons, just as you can in a finder window.
    Windows does this, but not OSX that I know of. Is there a third party app that enables you to see icon view in the Open and Close Dialogs?

    Thank you Steve Jobs. I guess that feature has been added in Leopard. Now there really is nothing that I'll miss from Windoze.

  • Add Image to a Conformation Dialog box button

    Hi All,
          Ho to add Image to a Conformation Dialog box button?????
    2. How to put <b>X</b> (to cancel) at right upper corner of dialog box.
    null

    Hi ,
    It would not be possible to add images in it. Use dialog boxes instead.
    Create a view ... add an image UI element ..use imgSource as ~sapicons/image name or paste the image in src/mimes/components/ur comp name and give that for source.
    You can create linktoaction.. and on its image property add an image for X and put that in one corner of the dialog box. and execute cancel action. when its clicked..

  • Site definition dialog box

    I'm very new to Dreamweaver and am trying to bring in a website design that I did in photoshop.  Trouble is, all the tutorials I see mention the Site Definition Wizard which is supposed to be accessible through the Site Definition Dialog Box.   My understanding is that when it should come up when I go to Site, New SIte.  Trouble is, I get a Site Setup dialog box instead and can't figure out how to get to the Wizard.  Any advice?

    Hi Julie,
    That *is* the revamped Site Definition screen in CS5.
    Site is for local settings
    Servers is for your remote settings (FTP server, username, password etc)

  • Blank file info dialog box

    Hi
    I have photoshop 11.0.1 installed on windows 7 (Before I used to use Windows XP PRO SP3) and I noticed that  clicking File--->File Info just shows me a blank dialog box instead  of the actual dialog box in which I can input various file properties.  How can I fix that?
    P.S. Same happens inside the Bridge and I never experienced this issue when I was on XP. Everything is fine on windows 7 except that blank dialog box in both photoshop and the bridge which is weird.

    I'm an already an admin because I'm the only user of my machine. I checked the folder "XMP" in the path C:\Users\My User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and I found it to be containing only one folder called "Metadata Templates" which is empty.
    I checked my old XP installation (which I still have an image backup file for it) and I navigated to:
    c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\XMP and I found it also to be indentical to my Windows 7 i.e. It still contains only the folder "Metadata Templates" and nothing under it so what might be wrong?
    Is there a doucumentation on how to transfer settings correctly of photoshop under XP to the correct locations under windows 7?
