CSS - 11506 - Adding New SSL Services on Single SSL Modules

Hi,
We are having one pair of CCS 11506 currently SSL services are running on slot4 with single SSL module. Now we are planning to add one more SSL application with different certificates & keys on different VIP.
Can we use the same slot4 for new application & using different certicates & keys on same SSL modules.Your reponse is appriecated

Hi Sean,
Thanks for replying back just want few clarifcations in configuration part.
1. If new vlan is given for new application then how to point routes to the new vlan as default routes to exisitng vlan is already present.
2. I've prepare sample config template with details steps & let us know will it work & if changes is required kindly let us know.
1.# ftp-record ssl_record 192.168.19.21 johndoe "abc123"
/home/johndoe
2.# copy ssl sftp ssl_record import rsacert.pem PEM "passwd123"
Connecting
Completed successfully
3.# copy ssl sftp ssl_record import rsakey.pem PEM "passwd123"
Connecting
Completed successfully
4.Enter configuration mode.
# config

4. To use RSA public key exchange and authentication:
a. Associate the imported RSA certificate with a file.
(config) # ssl associate cert myrsacert1 rsacert.pem
b. Associate the imported RSA key pair with a file.
(config) # ssl associate rsakey myrsakey1 rsakey.pem
5. Compare the public key in the associated certificate with the public key
stored with the associated private key and verify that they are identical.
(config) # ssl verify myrsacert1 myrsakey1
Certificate mycert1 matches key mykey1
ssl associate rsakey NEWKEY newkey.pem
ssl associate cert NEWCERT newcert.pem

  • Adding new WSIF Services

How can you add new WSIF services ( e.g. an XML File Polling Service ) to the BPEL environment

    Hi Dirk,
For the Production version of Oracle BPM we are planning to enhance the File Adapter (WSIF JCA based) so that it can support (XML) file polling, i.e. you will be able to Invoke a FileRead Interaction.
In the currently available beta version you can also associate a FileRead PartnerLink with a Receive activity (using JCA 1.5 inbound semantics), which will trigger a new Process instance when a File (matching certain configured criteria) shows up in a specified directory. The configuration of this is also captured in a (WSIF) WSDL.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Bo

  • Adding new DB service in oracle client 9i

I have an oracle client 9i installed on a Redhat linux machine. Before this i was accessing an oracle DB which was configured by some one else for my work. Right now, i need to connect a different server to carry out my work.
I need to know how to configure oracle client to connect to a DB on a different server (diifferent IP address). There has already been a user account setup for me on the server, i just need to find out how to connect to it.
    Thanks for your help

You can use Net Manager (netmgr) to create a new TNS names entry to connect to the database. See the following documentation link for step by step instructions.

  • [cgse] adding new pools for growth

    Hi, CSC:
I'm looking for advice for adding new pools on a single CGSE on a CRS.
My setup (working) is as follows:
    - single cgse on a 5.1.3 CRS
    - nat44
    - abf
    - single inside vrf and single outside vrf (default vrf)
    - single map address-pool, at this point
i was looking at the documentation and, only starting with XR 5.2, the configuration guide explicitly says that adding 'multiple' pools for nat44 is supported. So here are a few questions:
    - is adding multiple address pools to a single inside vrf supported (only) starting with XR 5.2 or can i do this in 5.1?
    - i'm assuming multiple pool support means: add several 'map address-pools' commands under the same inside vrf. is this correct?
    - say multiple address pools under the same inside vrf is not supported on 5.1. is there a 'soft' way of adding more valid ips (address pool) to the setup? for example, creating a second inside vrf (different serviceapp) and adding it to the same 'service cgn' so that it maps out to one single outside interface?
    Thanks a lot!
    c.

App Pool details will be persisted in the config database.

  • Trying to understand SSL sticky with CSS 11506 / ssl-l4-fallback behavior

    Dear experts
I have a CSS 11506 (v7.50) which is used to load balance several SSL-based sites. We use the following textbook content rule:
    content mysite-SSL
    vip address 10.0.0.1
    add service s01
    add service s02
    add service s03
    port 443
    protocol tcp
    advanced-balance ssl
    application ssl
    flow-timeout-multiplier 225
    active
If I read the manual correctly, SSL L3 session IDs are going to be used till a flow is set up. Then the ssl-l4-fallback (it is enabled) directive kicks in and load balancing is done based on the source IP, destination port.
    However, my stats show:
Sticky Statistics - SFM Slot 1, Subslot 1:
Total number of new sticky entries is 4937735
Total number of sticky table hits is 33476045
Total number of sticky rejects (no entry) is 0
Total number of sticky collision is 0
Total number of available sticky entries is 0
Total number of used sticky entries is 131071
Total L3 sticky entries are 131
Total L4 sticky entries are 0
Total SSL sticky entries are 130940
Total WAP sticky entries are 0
Total number of SIPCID sticky entries is 0
So, why don't I see anything in the L4 sticky entries?
Also, I would expect that once the ssl-l4-fallback kicks in, a client will be always directed to the same server (since the CSS uses now source IP, dest port for load balancing). However, if I close and start again my browser I hit a different server.
Your thoughts and suggestions are highly appreciated.
    John.

    Hi Gilles
Thank you for your response. If I may ask the group for a final further clarification, so as to put this matter to rest. Since there are a lot of frames transmitted in either direction, I would expect the following to be happening and overriding the use of SSLv3 session IDs. Following is the section of the manual that seems to contradict what you say (and I see on the stats). Am I reading the manual wrong?
    "Cisco Content Services Switch
    Content Load-Balancing
    Configuration Guide
    Software Version 8.20
    November 2006
    page 11-14
    Configuring SSL-Layer 4 Fallback
Insertion of the Layer 4 hash value into the sticky table occurs when more than
three frames are transmitted in either direction (client-to-server, server-to-client)
or if SSL version 2 is in use on the network. If either condition occurs, the CSS
inserts the Layer 4 hash value into the sticky table, overriding the further use of
the SSL version 3 session ID."

  • CSS with single SSL module.. balance option needed?

    Hi all,
Quick question. If you have a CSS 11503 with one SSL offload module installed.. is there any point in using the "application ssl" and "advanced-balance ssl" options in the content rule? I can't find any info that tells me for sure but I'm guessing that these options can be used to balance between multiple ssl modules and provide stickiness to the modules etc.. but doesn't have any effect on the traffic distribution and stickiness to the backend server services?
For example if I have a L5 content rule like the one below and only one SSL module, should i remove the "application ssl" and "advanced-balance ssl" options and just use the port 80 content rule which the ssl proxy lists offloads traffic too and apply the "advanced-balance sticky-srcip-dstport" and "balance leastconn" there ?
      content DEVCOM_TCP443_L5
        vip address x.x.x.x
        application ssl
        advanced-balance ssl
        protocol tcp
        port 443
        url "//dev.subdomain.domain.com/*"
        add service ssl_module1
        active
I have read various forum postings and i read the CSS SSL config guide but the examples all seem to differ in their implementation.
    Many thanks
    Scott

    You're correct.
There is no need to specify the application type as ssl and the advanced-balance method when using a single ssl module.

  • Adding new Remote System unavailable in Web Service Request

    Hi,
I created a CRUD Web service from a table using web service generator.I added a new remote system to the repository. When I invoke the create operation (which has key mapping "Yes"),it says "Remote System not found in the repository"
I am able to view the Remote System via Data Manage though.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Premjit

    Hi Premjit,
When did you added new remote system?
    Before generating web services.
    Or After generating web services.
If you have added remote system after generating web services.
Then try re-generating web services using web service generator.

  • How can I verify the SSL service enabled in CSS and SCA ?

I'm working for the OpenSSL vulnerability for CSS and SCA. How can I check if the device enabled the SSL service ?
    - https://x.x.x.x --> cannot access.
    - telnet x.x.x.x 443 --> I got a blank screen. I think this should be connection rejected if no SSL enabled.
Please guide me what command should I issue on the device(CSS and SCA) to verify the SSL service enabled ?
    Thanks,

To see what ports are being listened to.
On the SCA, you can do "show netstat"
On the CSS, you would go into debug mode and do
    symbol-table load
    shell inetstatShow

I recently bought an iPhone 5s from boost mobile I thought service would be decent but it really *****. I'm wondering if there is any way I can switch carriers maybe to us cellular seeing that they recently added new prepaid plans and have good service in my area.  I do know boost operates with sprint but  not sure what I can do because having an expensive phone with crappy service really *****

Sorry, but Boost reportedly does not offer unlocking for iPhones, so you're stuck with them unless you can return the iPhone for a refund and cancel the service, or can sell the iPhone to someone who could use it with Boost.

  • Remote Desktop Services Single SSL Cert with multiple hosts

I am trying to use a single SSL Cert from a third party issuer.  I have 3 servers in my deployement all are 2012R2.  One contains the RD Web Access role, RD Gateway role, RD Licensing role, and RD Connection Broker role.  The other 2 are
RD Session Hosts.  I have the SSL cert for the server that has the Gateway and other roles.  My deployement is primarily focused on deploying RemoteApp to Windows 8 Thin clients with GPO through the default URL.  It works currently with the
exception that the user gets a certificate mismatch error because it is seeing the cert for the gateway server but is connecting to the host servers so the names don't match.  Is anyone else using a similar setup and had success with it?  I am trying
to avoid buying an expensive wildcard cert to cover all of them.

    Hi,
Please verify that the .rdp file embedded in the RDWeb IE page matches the same one from RADC.  To do this, log on to RD Web Access using IE, right-click and choose View Source.  Find the goRDP function for the icon you want to examine and copy
the text between the ' marks.  Next paste this into the escape text box the below page:
    http://www.web-code.org/coding-tools/javascript-escape-unescape-converter-tool.html
Click complete unescape to get the plain text version.  After that you can select all of the text in the clear text box, paste it into a blank Notepad window, then save as a .rdp file.  Once you have the .rdp file created you can compare
it to the other ones and see if any of the names are different, see if it gets the certificate error as well when you double-click it, etc.
Do you have any proxy or other non-default network configuration on your Windows 8 embedded clients?
    Thanks.

  • Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16

Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16
I need to make wsdl web service call in my weblogic app server. The web service is provided by a 3rd party vendor. I keep getting error
Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found
Certificate chain received from ws-eq.demo.xxx.com - xx.xxx.xxx.156 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure
    Validation error = 16
From the SSL debug log, I can see 3 verisign hierarchy certs are correctly loaded (see 3 lines in the log message starting with “adding as trusted cert”). But somehow after first handshake, I got error “Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found”.
Here is how I load trustStore and keyStore in my java program:
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",”cacerts”);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", trustKeyPasswd);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStoreName);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword",clientCertPwd);      System.setProperty("com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump","true");
Here is how I create cacerts using verisign hierarchy certs (in this order)
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignClass3G5PCA3Root.txt -alias "Verisign Class3 G5P CA3 Root"
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediatePrimary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Primary"
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediateSecondary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Secondary"
Because my program is a weblogic app server, when I start the program, I have java command line options set as:
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore=SSLTrust.jks
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.enforceConstraints=strong
That SSLTrust.jks is the trust certificate from our web server which sits on a different box. In our config.xml file, we also refer to the SSLTrust.jks file when we bring up the weblogic app server.
In addition, we have working logic to use some other wsdl web services from the same vendor on the same SOAP server. In the working web service call flows, we use clientgen to create client stub, and use SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter to load trustStore and keyStore, and then bind the SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the webSerive client object and make the webservie call. For the new wsdl file, I am told to use wsimport to create client stub. In the client code created, I don’t see any way that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the client object, so I have to load certs by settting system pramaters. Here I attached the the wsdl file.
I have read many articles. It seems as long as I can install the verisign certs correctly to web logic server, I should have fixed the problem. Now the questions are:
    1.     Do I create “cacerts” the correct order with right keeltool options?
    2.     Since command line option “-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore” is used for web server jks certificate, will that cause any problem for me?
    3.     Is it possible to use wsimport to generate client stub that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to it?
    4.     Do I need to put the “cacerts” to some specific weblogic directory?

I received a workaround by an internal message.
The how to guide is :
-Download the wsdl file (with bindings, not the one from ESR)
-Correct it in order that the schema corresponds to the answer (remove minOccurs or other things like this)
-Deploy the wsdl file on you a server (java web project for exemple). you can deploy on your local
-Create a new logicial destination that point to the wsdl file modified
-Change the metadata destination in your web dynpro project for the corresponding model and keep the execution desitnation as before.
Then the received data is check by the metadata logical destination but the data is retrieved from the correct server.

  • CSS 11506 page requests not directed properly

CSS 11506 sitting in front of mainframe and
    two Windows 2003 servers
    content rule3056gif
    add service web1
    add service web2
    vip address 10.10.200.252
    balance aca
    url "/IMAGE_DIRECTORY_NAME/*.gif"
    port 3056
    active
A small number of page requests, that do not match the above pattern, are passing to the content servers web1 or web2 instead of the mainframe.
    Any ideas appreciated.

when a connection comes in and matches the rule above, a flow is created to switch all traffic between client and server.
If inside this same flow a new request comes in for a different content rule, the flow needs to be remapped to the new server.
This works fine except when the flow stays idle.
A flow that was idle can't be remapped.
All new requests will be sent to the current/last server even if the request does not match the rule.
The solution is to increase the idle timeout.
You can do this with a 'flow-timeout-multiplier'.
A large value will reduce a lot the chance to see the problem but it also means the amount of resources being used will increase as each flow will remain longer in memory.
It's up to you to find the right balance.
You can do a 'flow stat' from llama mode to see number of free flows and active flows.
I would say you start with a flow-timeout-multiplier of 100 and reduce or increase it if necessary.

    Gilles.

  • CSS 11506

I configured VIP on my CSS 11506. I created a content rule and a service, which will be used by the content rule. Both have been activated. However, when I do "show service summary", the new service created is not coming up, it's showing down. I removed the service and re-created it and still down. My VIP won't work if the service remains down. Please help if you experience this before. Thanks so much !!

    Collin,
You are the man! I removed th keepalive by typing "keepalive type none" initially it was "keepalive type tcp" and now the service is up and I can get to my VIP. Thanks so much! I appreciated. How should I give you a credit ?

  • Unable to connect to VM's in new cloud service via express route

We have changed our express route setup, initially we had an express route via London, but we have added a second one via Amsterdam and removed the one via London. All existing and new vm's in the different vnet's have connection to our local datacenter,
but as soon as we create vm's in a new cloud service the published routes don't seem to be picked up and the machine are only reachable in their local vnet on azure.
Does anyone have an idea where to look, it looks like the route publishing does not seem to work correctly, but it is strange that new vm's in existing cloud service do work correctly. BGP peering and vnet have been provided access via the expressroute and
    all have status provisioned.

    Hi Syed,
When I try to connect to a new vm via rdp or try to do a tracert to the machine (with firewall turned off on the vm) I don't get a response (traffic is routed via the express-route correctly). If I do a tracert to an ip on the on premise network
from the vm in question the trace is directed to internet instead of to the on premise network via the express route.
the new cloud services were created in the same region as the working cloud services and the vm's are also in the same vnet/subnet as the working vm's. If I delete a vm (keeping the disks) from a new cloud service and redeployed it in an existing cloud service
I can reach it again via the internal ip.
We have checked the route publishing and the correct routes are published to the express route/vnet.
When I check the provisioning of the vnet's via get-azurededicatedcircuitlink all the vnet's in question are listed as provisioned.
I'll try to remove the bpgrouting for the original expressroute this evening to see if that helps.
    kind regards
    Xander
