Css inheritance in a module

Hello.
I have a PopUpManager that popups up modules (extended mx.component.TitleWindow).
Unfortunately, if I am assigning global style names to internal module's components, nothing happens.
Although embedded fonts are loaded and it work through setStyle('fontFamily'...) it doesn work through styleName='styleUsedInMainApp'
How can I resolve this situation? Write new styles for the module that will be repeating the one from main seems to me a bummer

This could depend on what you are inheriting. If you have a single class inheriting from an abstract super class then I would just have a single table in the database for the sub class.
If your subclasses only override the super class methods and do not add any fields (data attributes) then you should just have a database table for your superclass.
If your sub classes have additional fields that do not exist in the super class then you should have one table for your super class, and a table for any sub classes which have additional data attributes. The super class table will have a column which holds a primary key, and each sub class table will have a column holding a foreign key which is the link to the super class table.

CSS Inheritance of font embed assets into modules

Hi Flex
Currently having an issue with inheritance of Fonts between a shell application and it's respective modules, we have a shell.css and when a module is loaded it's specific module.css is loaded with it.
All other styles are inheritance therefore this is not to do with the security model as on the module loader I do specify to keep the correct domain and proof of this is that all styles are in fact inherited just not the Embeded Fonts.
Any ideas?

CSS INHERITED TAG ERROR

I am having an line through my css item and it is telling me that I have a css inherited tag error. I don't know what that means.
I am not sure why espically because all I am doing is changing the image from one to another but when I try to relink the image it goes to a blank page and doesn't display the new image.

I don't understand your question at all. You are talking about template but the link you have posted doesn't seem to be from a tempalte.
However, when I go to your site, I get this image:
Now ehen I click on the image I get this page:
I then click on the Services tab, I get this:
Now explain what image should be on this page? Why do you say you get a blank page?
You need to explain your question again and provide which image isn't loading!! Post that image on these forums. You will need to login to these forums to post your image otherwise it won't come at all. It will be blank!!!!! if this is what you mean!

Css styles listing for modules by any chance?

hi guys I'm finding the amount of css code inside the modules style list over whelming has any one gone to the trouble of making a list for people like me to be able to easily find the right css for the right module.
For example yesterday some one had to point out the code for the cart summary box was line 520! is there a list to tell me were all the code for the announcement module starts and finishes? Over wise its not a very speedy process and I thought web designing was meant to be more geared to time management these days

Easiest way is to use Firebug - a plugin for Firefox. Once installed, browse to the page required then click F12 which will open Firebug. Top left of the Firebug panel, click the second icon to select an element on the page, select an element and, ensuring you have HTML selected, you will see the css, including file and line numbers, for the relevant element. CSS with single SSL module.. balance option needed?

Hi all,
Quick question. If you have a CSS 11503 with one SSL offload module installed.. is there any point in using the "application ssl" and "advanced-balance ssl" options in the content rule? I can't find any info that tells me for sure but I'm guessing that these options can be used to balance between multiple ssl modules and provide stickiness to the modules etc.. but doesn't have any effect on the traffic distribution and stickiness to the backend server services?
For example if I have a L5 content rule like the one below and only one SSL module, should i remove the "application ssl" and "advanced-balance ssl" options and just use the port 80 content rule which the ssl proxy lists offloads traffic too and apply the "advanced-balance sticky-srcip-dstport" and "balance leastconn" there ?

You're correct.
There is no need to specify the application type as ssl and the advanced-balance method when using a single ssl module.

CSS Buttons in Blog Module Template Help

I am using css buttons for my social icons in my blog side bar. I have included the css stylesheet in the overall blog module template as well as well as the button text. The icons appear when I view the blog in list view, however when I try to view an individual post, the icons do not appear, just the button text. The buttons work on all other web pages within BC as well. Thanks for any help

Have you set the paths for your images and css as ... src="/images/" etc?
In BC CSS, JS, images etc need to start with a forward slash to say "read from root".

CSS 115xx and SSL module.

Good day, I have a general question on the SSL module. Currently we have a pair of CSS's handeling our external site web sites. We are starting to run out of external IP addresses, If we installed the SSL module and terminated the Certificates on the CSS would we be able to read the ssl header and utilize 1 ip for multiple ssl sites?

Help with CSS overrides of BC Modules, using Muse

Hi guys,
I am hoping someone at Adobe can help me. I have been getting good at figuring out CSS overrides for HTML code in Muse... but can't seem to figure out the code for overriding BC Modules.
For instance, I want to modify the text color, font size for the {module_breadcrumb}... but can't seem to get the correct code. What I put in, usually changes the font on the entire page, and I only want to modify the module.

CSS inheritance metadata compiler error?

Can anyone explain why this style is conflicting? Container extends UIComponent, so why would it conflict with another class that extends UIComponent? Shouldn't they be scoped independently?

Results in compile error:
Declaration of style 'backgroundColor' conflicts with previous declaration in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.5\frameworks\libs\framework.swc(mx/core/Container).

Whether a style is inheriting or not isn't something that can currently be scoped to component. It's something that is maintained at the application or module level. This is mostly due to the runtime implementation of StyleManager. It keeps a list of what styles are inheriting.
For backgroundColor, framework.swc's mx.core.Container has already declared that backgroundColor is not inheriting, so it's an error to try to change that in another component. If you need ShapeGraphic to be able to inherit it's background color from a parent component, you can use a different style name, for example shapeGraphicBackgroundColor. It's not ideal, but until style inheritance information is maintained on a per component basis, there aren't any terrific options.

The css111xx and css110xx are not modular so you can't add or remove anything from it.
You will need a CSS115xx.

if this is encrypted traffic [HTTPS] the CSS can't see the content of the packet.
So the CSS can't see the url [-> so the command url "/*" is incorrtect and should be removed] and the CSS can't see cookies [so the arrowpoint-cookie command is wrong and should be removed].
If we sell an SSL module, there is a reason :-)
The only sticky option you can use are :
- sticky based on srcip
- sticky on sslid
The first option [srcip] has a problem with mega proxy [many users being nated with the same ip] and the 2nd option has the problem that it only works with SSLV2 and that some browsers do not use the sslid.

CSS 11503 SSL Module: .pfx file export to sftp

I wanted to know of there was a way to export the .pfx files off of the SSL Module to an SFTP server.....preferably in bulk not one at a time. I want a central storage location for these files in the event that the CSS or the SSL module crashes.

Hi Jay,
Sure you can export the .pfx files out of the CSS but you need to do this one by one, there is no way you can get them out all at once.
To export the files you first need to define your SFTP server IP address, username and passwd:
CSS(config)# ftp-record SFTP_Server 10.10.10.1 username "password"
Once you have the file name you need to enter this command:
CSS# copy ssl sftp SFTP_Server export Certificate.pfx PKCS12 "passphrase" "password"
: This is the password used to protect the file when it was created.
: This is a local significant password on the CSS used when the file was
imported into the box.
* If you don't know these passwds you can't export the files out of the CSS.

How do I edit the CSS of a Dynamic Menu with Dreamweaver and Business Catalyst.

I've watched tutorials on v2 menu module and it obviously was not made for someone just starting out in Business Catalyst. I want to edit the CSS of my Dynamic Module, preferably V1, but if I have to use version 2 I will. The problem I am running into is that the width of the menu I am trying to make is not big enough. The menu is extremely simple, I could whip it up with css and html in a matter of minutes. Just black words horizontal layout with a dark red hover color and selected state. I can change all that in Business Catalyst Site Manager just fine, however, the width of my menu when I look at it on the site, is way too small. Probably only 750px wide. I want it 1000px wide, but I haven't the faintest idea of where to find that information to change. When I add the menu module to my html code i get this: {module_menu,1534789}. How do I add or find css/html to edit the properties? I know I can add classes to the items inside the menu in the Site Manager, but where do I find the html code that shows those names?
I'm obviously missing something important and probably really easy, so I hope someone can help.

I went ahead and built the navigation without a module, easier than wasting all this time trying to figure it out.
But initially my main problem was when I add the Menu module to my html in dreamweaver, this: {module_menu,1534789} would be put in my html instead of css/html code. Now if publish my site and look at the page source, it shows the css/html, but it doesn't in dreamweaver. So is that the only way to edit the css/html code, copy the page source and replace the {module_menu,1534789} with the copied code in dreamweaver?

These are the basic steps involved in writing a module:
1. Make sure you have the following jar files with you.

aii_af_ms_spi.jar
aii_af_trace.jar
aii_af_svc.jar
aii_af_cpa.jar
2. Open NetWeaver Developer Studio. Create a new EJB Module
New>J2EE>EJB Module.
Specify a meaningful name for the module and click Finish.
3. Right click on the folder ejbModule and create new package.
Enter a meaningful name for package and click Finish.
4. Right click on the Project, select New-->Folder. Enter lib as the folder name.
Copy all the jar files specified above from your local system and paste them into newly create lib folder.Right click on the project. Select Properties-->Java build path. Go to Libraries tab and add the jar files from lib folder to the classpath.
5. Switch to J2EE Perspective-->J2EE Explorer tab.
Right click on the newly created package and select New-->EJB.
6. Specify a meaningful name for the EJB. Select Bean Type as Stateless Session Bean.
Make sure to uncheck the checkbox Generate default interfaces.
Click on Next.
7. On the next screen change the values of following attributes as specified below.
Remote Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleRemote
Home Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleHome
Local Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocal
LocalHome Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocalHome
Click on Finish.
8. After clicking on Finish, a Creation error will be reported. Ignore this error as the file would still be created as specified.
Open the newly created file in Java Editor and add Module to the implements list of the bean class. Press Ctrl + Shift + O to remove import errors if any.
You will see a new error as
Class must implement the inherited abstract method Module.process(ModuleContext, ModuleData).
Right click in the java editor and select Source-->Override / Implement methods. Select process method from Module interface and click Ok.
You should have an error free build of the project after this.
process is the only method where we need to write the business logic.
With this you are ready to right the situation specific business logic in the process method.
9. Once you create a deployable archive i.e. .ear for this using NDS, you can deploy this archive using NDS or using SDM.
