CSS menu not maintaining style in browser view...

I posted this earlier, but realized posted it under a wrong name, will delete my old post here in a sec.
I started making changes to an old  website of mine, and have added in some new CSS based menus.  When I  view my new homepage in Live View everything looks right, the styles are  all working, but when I hit F-12 to view the page in browser mode (both  IE and Firefox) one menu loses its style completely and reverts to  plain text while the other keeps part of the style but loses the color.   Here is the code, not sure what the problem is, I have checked to make  sure everything is linked properly but my coding may be off.  Because I  have checked the coding over and over for the past hour I'm not sure if  it is a DW5 error or me.
Plain Text Error:

Why this target attribute?
<li><a href="" target="_self"  >
Why are you importing the CSS?
<style  media="all" type="text/css">@import  "/dropdown_menu/menu_style.css";</style>
No doubt the reason you are losing styles is that you have used a root relative link to the imported CSS file.  Go to PREFERENCES > Preview in Browser, and enable preview using temp files.  Let us know if that helps, please.

  • Excel Named Items not showing up in Browser View Options list

    Hi,
Using excel 2013 - when I create named ranges under the 'formulas' tab, I expect to see them show up in the 'show' tab under Browser View options.  However they aren't there - when I look at the 'items in the workbook' list I only see the charts and
pivot tables in my workbook, not the named items.
Is there some setting I need to flip on to see these times (and then use them in sharepoint)?
    Thanks

Today, I tried it again and now I could see the Name range under Browser View Options list, this is my step as below:
    1. Type the value in Cell A1 to B4. (Same as the screenshot as the last reply)
    2. Directly type Test in Name Box.
    3. Go to File > Info > Browser View options > Items in the Workbook.
    Now the Name is appearing.
But when we define a name to a blank range, we would not see the Name in the Browser View options anymore. Try in your site.
By the way, My using version is Office 36 ProPlus, version 15.0.4551.1005.

  • Why does my css menu not work on my mobile?

I have done a fluid layout which appears to work fine on my mobile, but when I try to use the dropdown menu it does not work.
I have a Nokia C3 by the way - Ancient I know but it uses internet and I don't know whether many people out there will still be using older technology.
The thing is - I know of one person who has an iphone6 who says it works on his phone, but is there a site where you can submit your own website to test the functionality?
I apologise for doing this but I have put up a very temporary link to the test site....
I AM NOT ADVERTISING - but I have put the test site for a friend on my server at the moment on www.tdrd.karoo.net
Don't bother using the contact form - it's not finished and I've removed code so the person will not get bombarded with test emails from people who just want to fiddle (as they do :-))
Could anyone else please tell me if the menu works for them and what can I do to get it working on an older phone?
I have put old style links to same pages at the bottom for backwards compatability but don't know if this is a good idea.
Should I be testing a device for capability and swapping for an appropriate menu - and if so how?
So many questions - thank you in advance for any feedback.
    Terry

    No - I do not use a stylus. -
I have had the phone a few years now and I could be using old technology.
I know the mobile has two browswers on it.
One is a lite version of Opera Mini but not sure of the version number
I know it is working on a windows phone (my brother) and an iphone (friend) so maybe I should somehow be detecting browser capability or functionality somehow and exchange the menu for a link based one in these instances...
Actually - I have just tried to test it on another site and my phone works on that - so maybe its not script friendly as it uses a .pull script to expand the menu.
    Thank you.

  • Facebook log out menu not working in any Browser?

Since I did my update to Mountain Lion I can no longer log out of Facebook, or modify any settings that use dropdown type boxes. I have had a similar problem before when I updated my Java in Snow Leopard, and the only way I managed to solve it was by formatting the Mac entirely and reinstalling Snow Leopard. I dont only have that problem with Facebook but with all the Websites I used in Safari, Firefox, and other browsers. It's really annoying espiecally because it works for like 2 seconds when I load the page.
Does anyone know what I could do?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Cedric

I dont only have that problem with Facebook but with all the Websites I used in Safari, Firefox, and other browsers.
Check System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies
Deselect any boxes ticked on the left then click OK then try a browser.
If it's not a proxy issue, diable anti virus software.
And since all browsers are affected, try deleting cookies
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/LIbrary/Cookies
Click Go then move the  Cookies.binarycookies file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Try Facebook.

Well to show the menu it runs off opacity, Opacity is not cross browser and IE8 as you noticed will not work with it.
This menu method of a CSS menu is also not mobile friendly.
You will need the MS filters to work in older IE's

  • Spry Menu bar looks OK in Live View, not browser

I'm trying to insert a Spry menu bar in an existing site to replace one previously built with an F-source product. There is a Flash movie above the menu bar. It looks fine in Live View, but when I look at it in a browser, it expands to about ten times its height with only the last menu item visible (out of nine). It also displaces the Flash movie to the left and up. Any idea what's causing this, and how to fix it? Thanks for any help you can provide!
    Live View:
    Browser View:

Thanks for your help. I tried to add the code above the menu bar (you didn't specify whether to add before the body tag) but it didn't help in either location.
I've uploaded the page in question to the site. You can access the page via http://www.acsi-cybersa.com/index2.html
If you back up to the "www.acsi-cybersa.com" URL, you will see a working homepage with an f-source menu that is acting a bit squirrely, and which I am trying to replace with the Spry menu. The URL above "index2.html" is the working replacement for the home page.
If you can figure out what's happening with the Spry menu and how to fix it, I would be eternally grateful.
    Thanks, Dan

  • CS6 Design view not rendering styles, tried typical fixes already

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows 7. I hand code everything but like to look in design view from time to time. Everything was working fine until a couple days ago it stopped rendering my css styles and now looks like this (see first image), but an actual preview in the browser looks fine. Under the style rendering menu screen media and display styles ARE currently checked. I have tried turning them off and then back on. I have tried deleting preferences from the registry. My files are linked to a template, I have tried removing the linked style sheet and then adding it again. Oddly I do see css styles in the preview of the actual template file but not the linked files. Any suggestions on what else I can try?

Most likely code related.  Assuming your Template.dwt is correctly located inside the Templates folder in your site's root, and your site is properly defined, and the style sheet file is in another folder called Styles,  the expected path in your Template.dwt file would be this with leading dots and slash.
    Template.dwt
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../Styles/stylesheet.css">
And the child page spawned from that Template and saved to your site root would contain this link path with no leading dots or slash.
    childpage.html
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Styles/stylesheet.css">
It goes without saying that DW doesn't adjust link paths for you unless a) your site is properly defined and b) you've saved your child page and named it.
    Hope this helps,
    Nancy O.

  • Why is my page not centered in browser view?

I am working on my home page.  I set the container dimension to 700px and max width 960.   I have tried other sizes.  every time in Windows browser view my site shifts to the left with a large margin on the right.  I can't get it to center.  I have an error message saying :
    Unsupported property: max-width
Affects: Internet Explorer 6.0; Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
In Live View, it looks fine. Also, in browser view, my spry menu bar is not showing up (it does in Live View).
    Anyone have any suggestions??
    Thanks!  M.

It would be soooooo much simpler and quicker for everyone if you would upload your page to your remote web space and post a link for us to see it in our browsers.
My guess is that your code has validation errors that need fixing.

  • Cannot view css styles in design view

Is there a way to get Dreamweaver to display style in design
view when the css files are in virtual folders?
Have tried using ASP (Vbscript) snippet to write in the
server URL and using Liveview, but still doesn't display. It
appears that DW only recognizes hard coded relative links or hard
    coded full URLs.
Browser displays these documents with no errors.

edit the documents without visible style, and need to use the

    Try using Design Time Stylesheets.
Open the Design-Time Style Sheets dialog box by doing one of
    the following:
    1. Right-click in the CSS Styles panel, and in the context
    menu select
    Design-time, or
    2. Select Text > CSS Styles > Design-time.

  • CSS (some, not all) not showing up in browser, but fine in DW. Plus other desperate issues....

I would really appreciate any and all help I can get to solve these problems as I'm new to CSS/HTML (completely new) and have been attempting to code my design just well enough to get it uploaded and working as a site. Once I can atleast achieve this feat, I plan on completely converting to CSS. But for now, I need to get the site working and I really didn't want to come and bother all of you on here with my problems and have been procrastinating posting on here for absolutely ages now....but since I can't figure all of the messy-uppy ness going on on my own, I beg forgiveness for any of your time wasted on my problems .
Okay, so the "main" issue here is that I can see some(some, not all) CSS on DW, but I see NONE whatsoever when I go to preview in browser, same after uploading. I do have all of the files uploaded and placed in the correct directories, including the stylesheet, and images folder. But, nope, nada. Now, I did think this was a root/directory problem, maybe the url's weren't pointing to the right directories. I checked and attempted to fix this several times and any changes made no difference. Also, uploaded to the root of my site, where all files and folders are where they should be, yet no change. I am utterly clueless as to what is going on here....
Second: Padding, or margins added through CSS for the divs is simply not working in DW or otherwise. I have padding placed on all of the content type areas with writing/content in them and despite the fact that the changes to the font/text formatting I've made show up, the padding does not. This is only in DW since no CSS whatsoever is showing out of DW anyways. I would like to know how to get the padding and the formatting, just all of the CSS in general to actually show up in browser/when uploaded.
Third: The next issue is also confusing, and this only occured after I made the page into a template and uploaded the home.htm page I created from it to my site. For some reason, the image called "../images/aurora2_14_content_marg.gif". Is appearing at the very top of the page for no reason at all. I don't understand why it is there, or how it even got up there in the first place.
Fourth: This was actually next on my list of things to figure out once I've gotten all of the above issues taken care of but since I'm still drawing a blank after 2+ weeks on how to get this done in a way that will work I guess it couldn't hurt to ask on here and get some expertise on the matter. The issue is that I have a repeating background (images/bg.png) that I want stretching downwards as I add content to the page. I have this placed as the main background for the entire site as you will be able to see in a moment through my code/site. Now, the place I want this to start is from where the aforementioned image (../images/aurora2_14_content_marg.gif) stops. However, I want the content to actually start from 20 pixels or so from the top of that very image. I want to try and achieve this through the use of margins but since the margins and padding are not showing up I hve been unable to experiment with it enough to figure out any other way to achieve this.  Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be much appreciated.
Fifth (yes, unfortunately we're still going): As you may be able to see through the design I have two seperate areas for the main content and the navigation and other such items to be placed. To clarify, the content will be placed(through the use of expandable content boxes, once I figure out how to work that) beginning at the aforementioned image/td/div (../images/aurora2_14_content_marg.gif) with a bit of padding or margin from the top and sides (too pull the content towardsthe center of the site rather than all over from left to right like it is appearing now). The navigation etc will be placed where the long cyan area is under the search bar. For both of these, I cannot figure out how to split my one background image and also the content_marg.gif image into the two divs/or whatever else would work to split their contents from eachother. I think that seperating them into 2 divs with padding from the sides and eachother and seperate top paddings (I want the navigation to begin more near the top of the page than the content). The issue here is, I cannot figure out how to do this.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, any tips on how to achieve the code for the solutions provided would also be very much appreciated, as I am only just starting out coding.
    The site/page:
    http://aurora.comeze.com/home.htm
    The stylesheet (style.css):
    http://aurora.comeze.com/style.css
Like I mentioned above, all of this except the padding shows up in DW. Whereas, none of this shows up at all in browser view, or through the site.

  • Centre not working in Dreamweaver Design View (CSS+HTML)- Preview OK- help!

    Hi there
I am having a slight problem with DW which I have had before, and fixed, but I cant for the life of me remember how I fixed it.  So any help is much appreciated.
I am producing a proof site for a client and cannot load it to be live just yet so sorry for any inconvience but I have taken some screen shots and will paste code/html.
The site is currently sitting like this  in the design view of DW

Which it usually doesnt.... its usually centred within the design view!!
this is how it sits in the preview

please excuse me if anything is messy, im pretty new to this!!

Can you say what that's doing? "float" is not a legal value for the leftmargin style, which requires an integer value.  But its use is deprecated in favor of CSS anyhow.
Your pasted code is lacking a doctype or anything that would normally be above that stylesheet link.  Is that just an oversight or is it really not there?

  • CSS is not showing in design view

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. I would appreciate very
much if you can... I have read all the css related problems, but
did not see the problem I am having.
Anyway, I have done a website template for someone and I gave
it to him to update the contents. However, on his dreamweaver
Design view, the css does not support it at all so it looks all
messy. Though when he preview it on IE, this is all fine. I have
made templates and css files with dreamweaver and I can view
everything fine. He seems to have the same version of DW (MX 2004)
so I am not sure how this happens. We were looking in everything
(including goofy css as someone says on this forum), but have no
luck so far. Here is my link and I pasted my css here.

  • Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory.

    HI
i restored a sharepoint web 80 application in our test domain
and after when i browse the new web application
    it says
Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory.

    Hi  adil,
According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error “Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file
exists under the layouts directory.” .
    The issue happens in
    We have customized master page
In the master page, we use path the script/style file like this: <SharePoint:CssRegistration name="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/Style Library/coe/mainCOE.css%>"
    runat="server"/>
While using the dynamic path in a multiple languages enabled site, language Id(1033 etc) will be added to the path automatically. That cause the file to be not found.
To solve the issue, please download  the Arabic language pack http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3411 ,
install it on  your SharePoint and refresh your browser.
