CSS render dependency problems

We are using portal on a marketing site that has specific rendering requirements which are satisfied by extensive use of CSS. One such requirement is that themes can be used control the leading colour of the page i.e. changes the colour of heading text in page content and the logo in the header. The hope was to use the cascading nature of CSS to override styles so that the lowest level CSS definitions are applied to the page. The problem is that CSSs are being included on pages when they are not required:
Consider a site with a top level of books each of which has a set of pages beneath, each book is required to have a different leading colour. In Portal a set of themes have been defined which consist of skin definitions containing a link render dependency that point to the CSS with the appropriate colour definitions for that theme. When the theme is applied to a book all of the pages are rendered with that theme. However, when one page within the book requires a different colour this is not achievable, as adding a different theme to one specific page in the book results in it being rendered in all of the pages in that book. When the HTML source is examined it shows that for all pages in the book, both CSSs are declared in the head, in the order in which the pages occur in the book.
It seems that the render dependencies are being evaluated inside the book and added to all pages, but our expected behaviour is that only the render dependency associated with the active page will be rendered. Is there any way to control this behaviour?
We are using Portal 10.0 MP1, the CSS files we are using are being served by apache so the render dependency definitions are absolute. As an aside whenever the page is rendered a number of error messages appear in the weblogic log indicating that 'The look and feel resource at base path ... could not be found', this occurs for all of the CSS and script files used on the page even though they appear correctly in the head. I do not know if this is at all related to the issue but we would also like to make sure these errors stop appearing in our logs.

Hello,
Set the UL margin so the browsers don't use their defaults.
IE is less than FF's default.
ul#navlist {margin: 10px;}
Adjust as needed.
Then just get rid of the margin-top:20; in the LI style.
The menu text does overflow in my FF, as I probably have my
text size set larger than yours.
Such is the nature of AP Divs (aka Layers).
More info at the link below. Scroll down to the section
entitled "The trouble with Layers: Overflowing Text" to see
screenshots and the fix.

  • Is this how pacman is supposed to work? (dependency "problem")[SOLVED]

    Hi
    Just did a fresh install of archlinux after buying a new computer.
    Installed some drivers.. kde (and some other stuff)
    Then.. just for the fun of it I removed qt3 with pacman -Rd.
    I was expecting that pacman -Syu would see that a dependency was missing and try to reinstall qt3.
    So I did a pacman -Syu, and what happened? Nothing.. pacman says all is okay, well all is not okay cus kde will not work without qt3.
    Is this how it should work or is this a bug? I checked the manpages for some kind of "install all missing dependencies" but found nothing..
    /Ivan

    That's not how Arch is supposed to work.  Arch is about giving power to the users.  With power comes responsibility, and this responsibility falls on the users in this case.  Remember -- this is a "do it yourself" kind of distribution and so if what I want to do is to screw up my system I should be able to do it in an easy, efficient and elegant way.  This is consistent with the mission statement of the Arch Linux project, this is how Arch works and this is why many of us love it.
    On a personal note, if Arch/pacman tried to hold my hand more, like you suggest it should, I'd be switching to another distro very, very quickly.
    It's not really about trying to get arch/pacman to hold your hand for you. It's more about giving the possibility to recover from a serious mistake. If you can tell me something wrong with adding an option wich checks for missing dependencies on your system and how that particular feature intervenes with "the arch way" - then please do.
    I'm not saying arch is bad, arch is actually the best linux distro I've used so far - but there is something common with almost all distros - you get dependency problems after a while, one way or another.
    Thats why I think there should be a way to resolve such issues.

  • After effects cs4 render error/problem

    I started rendering my video.After 1:30 minutes after i started rendering, the video changed intro something looking like a TV without signal, and stayed like that till the end of the video.Something like in this photo

    I don't think you understood me. When you get the color bars there is missing footage in your comp. Try scrubbing through your timeline to the place where the color bars appear in your render. You should see the same thing in the comp window. Find the layer that is giving you the color bar image, right click and select find in Project, then right click the footage and use the replace footage option to find the footage.
    If that does not fix your problem please give us a screenshot with the CTI at the point in your render where the color bars appear and reveal all properties of the problematic layer.
    I just looked up the codec you are using. It's a highly compressed 3rd party codec and that alone could be causing your problem. There are lots of users of that codec that have problems. If you do not have missing footage in your project then Transcode the original screen capture footage to a suitable production quality codec and replace the footage in your AE project with a standard digital intermediate codec. Jpeg compressed Quicktime is probably one of the most versatile and dependable DI codec.

  • Form Server Render Form Problem

    Hi,
    I want to create multiple instances of a table row inside the workflow, so I wrote a script inside the form:ready event of my table row. The script adds new instances using the NumberOfRows variable which stands in my xml schema and I set it inside the workflow using setvalue qpac. After these, I am using the form server render qpac to be able to run the script and have multiple rows in the form before it reaches to any user.
    There is no problem untill here. Everything goes well and I successed all. However, when I try to fill in one of the rows that I have newly created, I get a stalled action :) and many error message.
    I used this expression in setvalue qpac to set newly created row :
    /process_data/formvar/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data/SATalepFormu/DetayliAciklama/UrunBi lgileri[2]/Urun
    This is the error :

    It became a long message but I wait for your replies:)

    Hi Guvenc
    The SetValue QPAC does not allow you to use predicates (i.e. square brackets) on the left hand side of an assignment.
    In other words:
    /process_data/@myvalue = /process_data/myxml/root/repeat[3]/name
    is okay, but
    /process_data/myxml/root/repeat[3]/name = /process_data/@myvalue
    is not okay.
    There are actually some good reasons for this behaviour - Xpath is a way of retrieving data, not creating it - this is actually very unfortunate, because it would be very helpful, as you've found. (There are some interesting technical problems around using XPath to create xml, such as: what should it do if /repeat[1] and repeat[2] don't exist?)
    One way to work around this is to create the entire xml document in a string or XML variable, and then assign the entire thing to the root node of your form. You may have to mess with the syntax a bit (I haven't verified that this expression is exactly correct), but it would be something like:
    /process_data/formvar/form-data/data/xdp/datasets/data =
    deserialize(/process_data/@xml_as_a_string)
    We have a SetText QPAC which makes it a little easier to construct a large xml file as a string like this (with embedded xpath expressions), but you can also create it by using SetValue and the Xpath concatenate() function.
    You can downlaod SetText from:
    http://www.avoka.com/avoka/qpac_library.shtml
    Depending what you're trying to do, you could also write a custom QPAC (once you have a DOM, you can do whatever you need to), or we would be happy to write one for you.
    Good luck...

  • AE CC and the Rest of Adobe Apps - ProRes Quicktime Render Gamma Problem Back AGAIN

    Hi ---
    With this version I am back to square one with AE NOT being able to render out correct gamma exporting to PR4444 -
    Scenario (And this matter NOT whether I use Color Management or Not)
    1) I open a Clip in AE or PPRO (In this case a TIFF Sequence RAW'ed from Lightroom)
    2) I switch back and forth between Lightroom and AE and the images are identical in color and gamma
    3) I export to PR4444 and open in Quicktime Player or FCPx and the Gamma is off.
    4) If I re-import the exported file into AE - AE reads the file with a diff. gamma and the result appears to be identical with source
    But it is no good that the result only looks the way it was intended in AE ! --- The poeople on the web are not viewing the movie in AE but with other players.
    If i open that same tiff sequence in the quicktime player pro and export to PR4444 the results are 100% identical.
    I find it highly frustrating that a company so higly regarded with so amazing software is NOT able to render out an image correctly...
    This problem has been around since forever and I find it higly disturbing that this issue has not yet been addressed.
    As of now I have no choice that to ditch AE and PPRO.... I WANT the images I work with to look the way they do in the app while color grading... What point is there in CG'ing images to perfection
    if adobe cant even render out the results....
    As I stated it does NOT matter whether I am color managing or not... Results are lighter in gamma when viewed in anything else than AE or PPRO !!!!!!
    The amount to correct back is approx. a gamma of 0.9
    BTW --- When in 32 bit how come I cannot set a gamma of 0.905 why is the gamma limited to two digits after the comma... 32 bit has MUCH more to offer !!!!

    Thanks Todd,
    I have tried those tips before. Unfortunately, I haven't had great success with them in this case.
    When I reserve the 16GB of RAM for other apps and RAM preview a comp containing multiple Prores 4444 footage layers, it plays back and retains the cache as expected. However, the 2nd RAM preview of another comp in the same project containing multiple Prores 4444 footage layers stays stuck in "Initializing Background Processes." A check with Activity Monitor usually shows aeselflink processes that are hung up.
    This has been my experience until I came upon the work-around of precomping Prores files.
    To demonstrate, here's a screen shot of the stuck process with the memory settings I used -
    I rebooted the system and tried 2 more times with the same result.
    If I simply precomp the Prores 4444 footage layers as demonstrated in the video, I get smooth RAM preview caching and performance. This works even if I allocated less RAM to other applications in the Memory and Multiprocessing preferences (hence the 6GB setting from earlier). With the work-around, AE runs smooth with no hiccups and RAM previews behave as expected.

  • RENDER /EXPORT problems with the new CC 2014

    I have updated to the new Premiere pro CC 2014 version. I realise its a standalone upgrade so i deleted the previous cc version from my pc to save disk space...
    I have a 3 hour file just raw footage, with no plugins on it....
    I have tried rendering to media encoder so many times, it starts the render but stops at random sections, the elapsed times still keep counting up, the remaining time counts up but the yellow bar stays at the same point and does not move...
    I have tried exporting directly from Premiere Pro and once again it got to 43% and paused at this ... I have then have to press cancel get the loading mouse pointer circle and i have to close the programs through start manager...
    For two days iam trying to export this file to give to a client and it wont do it and there is no solutions on the net...
    I have had nothing but problems with every upgrade, on my other PC i still get audio dropouts from files and have to restart the computer.... Paying $50 a month to pull my hair out is a great investment...
    please help as Adobe software is on thin ice with me...
    Cheers

    If CC worked, I think this will allow you to go back

  • Render Service Problem - Root Cause ALC-DSC-127-000

    I have decided to write a Form Guide renderer instead of using one from the Samples. The renderer process was created by carefully observing the one in the samples. After creating the renderer, I activated it and used it in my process. In the livecycle workspace, when I try to access the initialization task, A popup error shows up. Between them I have a div of the main content of the pages
    which also needs to be centered.
    All seems very simple. I would normally just have a big div
    around the whole page with an align="center". Job done.
    But the problem is the space to the left of the content div
    needs to be grey and the space on the right needs to be black.
    Therefore I assume I'm going to need 3 divs. 2 for the left and
    right spaces and another with the main content between them.
    Both the side divs will need to expand somehow to fill the
    space while keeping the fixed width content div centered. But I
    think they will also have to be floated to sit side by side.
    I cant seem to get the divs to stay in the correct places or
    keep the side ones filling the space between the content div and
    the edges of the browser.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Olliebear

  • CSS Logo position problem

    Hello
    I have been recently working on a web project. In the project I have a css file Thats suppose to position the logo image.
    This is the css code:
    /** LOGO */
    #logo {
    width: 830px;
    height: 90px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    margin-top: 10px;
    margin-left: 200px;
    background: url(images/img04.jpg) no-repeat left top;
    Margin-top moves the logo down and margin-left moves the logo in alignment. The problem is that when I view the
    page on different screen sizes margin-left makes the logo image automatically move to the middle of the page.
    Instead of staying in the required position.
    Can any one help.
    Thanks.

  • CSS 11150 Booting Problem

    Dear All,
    After a power outage, one of our CSS is failing to boot up properly. Every time its rebooted, it goes straight to the OFFDM although the Primary boot device has been selected to be Disk. I have formatted the
    Disk and loaded a new image, it booted with the new image once and its
    Loading to OFFDM every time its rebooted.
    I would be really grateful if someone could shed some light on this problem.
    Regards,

    You could check the boot.log for error messages inorder to find out what the problem could be.

  • CSS Align right problem

    Hi
    I am using the following css to align a div to the right hand
    side of the
    page:
    #headerRight { RIGHT: 10px; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px; POSITION:
    absolute; TOP: 5px;
    align: right; border: 0; width: 235px;}
    The above seems to work well, except for one small annoying
    problem. If the
    content of the page is wide and causes the horizontal scroll
    bar to appear,
    then the div seems to work as it appears 10px from the right
    side of the
    window. However if I move the horizontal scroll bar over to
    the right, then
    the div doesnt move accordingly.
    If I then resize the browser window, then the div moves and
    always lines up
    10px from the edge no matter what size the window is.
    Anyone know where I am going wrong, or need any more
    information?
    Thanks
    Brendan

    =========================================

    Solved the problem by using the following javascript code:
    function scrollDetect(){
    document.getElementById("headerRight").style.left =
    document.body.clientWidth - 245 + document.body.scrollLeft;
    setInterval("scrollDetect()", 500);
    Where 245 is the width of the div.
    Only problem is that the code probably isnt cross browser at
    the moment, but
    I'll work on that.
    Thanks again for all your help.

  • CSS 11050 NAT problem

    Hi, I have a problem with the NAT group intercepting connections to a PIX on the local VLAN. VLAN1 on the LB is the outside internet connection, VLAN2 is internal, at 10.0.10.0/24. The PIX IP is 10.0.10.254. If a webserver at 10.0.10.5 tries to connect to a server behind the PIX, the PIX logs a connection not from 10.0.10.5, but from the NAT group, which has an external IP address. Not only does this slow things down, but confuses the ACL config on the PIX. Any way to force devices to directly connect on the local VLAN, as one would normally expect? Thanks!

    What happens is the traffic that will use the group will need to match the source/dest configured in the ACL, but more importantly, the VLAN you apply to the ACL itself will determine what traffic is even looked at in the ACL itself. So if you apply vlan1 to the ACL, then only traffic coming into the CSS via VLAN1 will use the acl (assuming it matches the clause criteria configured).
    By using the ACL approach, you could put those ip addresses you want to NAT in the first clauses, and then leave out the ones you do not want to NAT. If there is no ACL match, then there will be no NAT.
    Instead of specifying all the ip addreses in separate ACLs, you can use the subnet mask to create a range of addresses.
    Hope this help. I do agree that this can be a bit of a maint challenge having to do this, but I'm not sure any other option exists unless there is something different about the way you have your source groups configured.
    Regards
    Pete..
