Csupload produces unknown error ("unsupported virtual size")

Hi,
Using a trial account I tried to upload a Linux vhd file (approx. 10 GB) to a container (vhds) that I assume is being created on the fly (?):
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Azure\.NET SDK\2012-06\bin>csupload Add-PersistentVMImage -Destination "https://coutinho.blob.core.windows.net/vhds/test.vhd" -LiteralPath C:\Users\kvandenberg\Documents\test.vhd -Label Test -OS Linux"
The upload seems to complete ok, but then:
"Registering the image 'test.vhd' with repository.
The VHD https://coutinho.blob.core.windows.net/vhds/test.vhd has an unsupported virtual size of 10191437824 bytes.  The size must be a whole number (in MBs)."
What's the problem? I didn't find mention of  this error anywhere.

Thanks for your answer, which suggests a very straightforward solution :). I'm not running Hyper-V and used the freeware StarWind Converter to perform a vmdk-to-vhd conversion. This tool doesn't allow to set the file size of the vhd,
so I found and used vmToolkit's Vhd Resizer to resize the vhd to 9720 MB.
Just started to upload. Had to use the -Overwrite option, since csupload reports the presence of the image that failed to register.

  • Ldapbind produces "UnKnown Error Encountered"

    Hi All,
    I'm having difficulties binding my database server to our LDAP server. If we bind to a non-ssl port we get a "Bind Successful", however whenever we use the SSL port, all we get is a "UnKnown Error Encountered" message.
    My database is on a Solaris 10 server, and the version is 10.2.0.3. The LDAP we are using is Sun's Directory Server (a.k.a. iPlanet).
    Here are my commands:
    NON-SSL
    ldapbind -D "uid=foo_002,ou=people,dc=college,dc=edu" -w "password" -h ldap.college.edu -p "389"
    bind successful
    SSL
    ldapbind -D "uid=foo_002,ou=people,dc=college,dc=edu" -w "password" -h ldap.college.edu -U 2 -p "636" -W "file://etc/ORACLE/WALLETS/oracle" -P "wallet_password"
    The Oracle Wallet seems like it's configured correctly. It has a "Ready" status and I've also imported the cert from the ldap server.
    There are no logs that generate when the error occurs.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    I'm encountering the same problem today...did you ever receive a resolution?

  • Spotlight: "Privacy List Error: ... couldn't be added ... unknown error"

    G'day all. I'm having a spotlight problem and I'd be very grateful for any help.
    In short:
    Spotlight refuses to index one of my partitions, and both the Privacy "trick" in System Preferences to force a re-index, plus using mdutil in the terminal, both produce unknown errors.
    If anyone has any ideas, please help!
    More information if you're interested:
    I have my hard drive partitioned into two, one for the OS the other for my home folder. I've used the advanced settings in the System Preferences > Accounts to tell my user account to find my home folder on the second partition.
    Spotlight refuses to work with the home folder volume.
    When I try to go into System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy and add the offending volume to that, I get a message saying "Privacy List Error: The item couldn't be added or removed because of an unknown error."
    If in Terminal I try the following:
    mdutil -sv /Volumes/David/
    I get back:
    /volumes/David:
    Indexing disabled.
    I try:
    mdutil -v -i on /Volumes/David/
    I get back:
    /volumes/David:
    Error: unable to perform operation. (-1)
    Indexing disabled.
    I've tried the above statements both logged in as root as well as logged in as me.
    I've also tried Spotless and get an equally unhelpful "unknown error".
    Usually when updating my system I just do an upgrade install, and admittedly this has left a lot of legacy stuff lying around over the years, and various problems have been building recently, including this one, so a few weeks ago I bit the bullet and gave my system a full clean out:
    I swapped my existing hard drive for a new one, formatted the new one, set up the partitions afresh, did a clean install (from the 10.5.4 discs that came with my MacBook Pro), then software updated everything (up to 10.5.6), and then clean reinstalled most of my applications, and manually dragged all my personal stuff back in from the original hard drive (which now is sitting in an external case as a backup in case I realise I've forgotten to transfer something, down the track).
    All my other problems have gone away and my system is snappier than it's been in a long time, which is great (and not unexpected!), but this spotlight problem persists. I'm usually pretty clued up with Mac stuff and am generally comfortable in the Terminal but this one's got me stumped. If anyone can help me figure out what is causing this error, I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks!

    Thanks V.K. for the suggestions. I've just tried all that, but unfortunately it has not changed the situation.
    System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy, and mdutil both still give the same results as before.
    A bunch more info in case it's relevant/helpful:
    1. The volume in question IS my home folder. ie. the path to my home folder as defined in the Advanced Settings part of System Preferences > Accounts is "/Volumes/David/" (and yes the volume name is "David" with a capital "D"). I mention all that so I can ask is there any problem with having my home folder = a volume? I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work, and for what it's worth this spotlight problem is only recent whereas I've been using this set up ever since I got Leopard on the day it originally came out (and spotlight had been working fine for months until recently).
    2. I wonder if there's something else on that volume that's causing problems, or some permissions issue? If it might be any use in diagnosing this issue, here's some ls's:

    3. here's an interesting entry from the console at the point where I tried to add the volume to System Preference > Spotlight > Privacy:
    mds[32] nosymlink_mkdir() unable to realpath or parent paths do not match p:/Volumes/David/.Spotlight-V100: r:/volumes/David:
    4. I notice that when I do that (add the volume) it gives the error message I originally explained ("couldn't be added or removed because of an unknown error"), and adds the above line to the console, but otherwise it appears that nothing has changed (ie. it doesn't show in the list).
    If I then quit system preferences, reopen it, and go back into that Privacy tab the volume IS there in the list. If I then try to remove it, I get the same error message and console message, and again nothing appears to happen, but then if I quit system preferences again and then go back into it, the volume is no longer in the list.
    There is definitely something weird going on here.
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks again!
    David.

  • Error unsupported memory access on variable 'Decoder.number_of_values' which is (or contain) an array with unknown size at compile time

    Dear All,
    I am a new user of Vivado HLS. I want to pass an array of struct to a function and use elements of struct multiple times in a function (read and write). I find this error "error unsupported memory access on variable 'Decoder.number_of_values' which is (or contain) an array with unknown size at compile time " . Kindly can anyone tell that is it an issue of directive? if yes then which directive to use for struct and its element. Struct and function are as follows.
    typedef struct {
    uint32_t number_of_values ;
    uint32_t  address[16];
    uint8_t Processed_bit :1 ;
    uint32_t links[6];
    } Decoder_Fields;
    void Raptor_LT_decode(int To_Send,Decoder_Fields *Decoder){
        int counter=0;
        int i=0,j=0,k=0,x,aaa;
        Raptor_LT_decode_label0:while(counter<To_Send){
            if((Decoder[counter].number_of_values ==1) &&(Decoder[counter].Processed_bit==0) ){
                Decoder[counter].Processed_bit=1;
                Raptor_LT_decode_label1:for (i=0; i<To_Send;i++){
                   Raptor_LT_decode_label2:for (k=0;k<Decoder[i].number_of_values;k++){
                         if (( Decoder[counter].links[0]==Decoder[i].links[k]) && (counter != i)&&       (Decoder[i].number_of_values!= 1)) {
                            Raptor_LT_decode_label3:for (j=0;j<BLOCK_SIZE_BYTES/4;j++){
                                     Decoder[i].address[i]= Decoder[i].address[j] ^ Decoder[counter].address[j];
                            for (x=k;x<Decoder[i].number_of_values-1;x++) Decoder[i].links[x]=Decoder[i].links[x+1];
                                      Decoder[i].number_of_values--;
                counter=0;
            else
                counter++;

    Hi ,
    This question is asked on the forum from time to time and should be described in the UG902
    In your top level, Decoder is a pointer; this is not supported as-is as you need to know its size when you do something like Decoder[i].XXXX : the tool need to know how many bits to size the addess bus.
    you need to change Decoder_Fields *Decoder to Decoder_Fields Decoder[YOURSIZE]
    with YOURSIZE that makes sense; in this case the tool will know that it need N=log2(YOURSIZE) to fully address the Decoder array variable.
    next when you solve that and that all is good... the question that you will need to transfer the data of the structs from host memory to your VHLS IP; you need to think about this.
    I hope this helps.

  • "Install Virtual Guest Services" fails - Error (2927) - Unknown error (0x8033811e)

    Management Server (MGMT01) is running SCVMM 2012 R2 on Windows 2012 R2
    It's currently managing 2 Hyper-V hosts:
    SRV01 is running Windows Server 2012 R2 - Hyper-V Core
    SRV02 is running Windows 2008 R2 Standard with the Hyper-V role
    SRV02 is going away eventually, so currently moving VM'S TO SRV01.
    I was able to migrate the VM without issue but when attempting to install the guest services; I get the following error:
    Error (2927)

    Check that WinRM is installed and running on server MGMT01.DOMAIN.LOCAL. For more information use the command "winrm helpmsg hresult" and

    WinRM is running on MGMT01 and I'm running the VMM console as a domain admin.  Firewalls have been disabled on management server and both hosts.
    What else should I be looking at?

    I attempted to create a new VM and was met with the same error but I'm able to create a VM using Hyper-V manager.

  • Pre10 crashes, hangs, and "Error compiling movie. Unknown error."

    I'm using Premiere Elements 10.0 and an am having a lot of trouble.  On a simple project (just half a dozen video clips with audio and some DVD menu stuff) I din't have much trouble. However my bigger project (which is the reason I bought PRE10) isn't working well at all.  My pc specs are at the bottom of the post.
    Issue 1.  about a third of the time, when starting PRE10, the opening welcome screen comes up, I hit 'Open Project', it start to load, then gets an error.  With this error I also get an entry in windows event viewer, application log of:  Faulting application adobe premiere elements.exe, version 10.0.0.0, faulting module gdiplus.dll, version 5.2.6002.22509, fault address 0x0000f47d.
    If I get past that bug, the PRE sometimes just freezes up (a couple times with the audio track still playing, but otherwise frozen).
    After many frustrating hours, I think I'm close to having my project complete, and now PRE won't render and create a file.  I've tried just a short snippet, or the entire thing - either way it renders for a while (just a few minutes), then gives the subject line error message - "Unknown error" isn't very helpful!   Once, after getting this error an I let it sit there a whle, it then gave the same gdipluss.dll fault that I typically see on startup.
    I'd love to have all of these issues solved, but I most important thing is being about to get some sort of output!  I've tried a variety of output format, all do the same thing (mpeg2, avchd, dvd, hdtv, etc.)
    Thanks
    Charles
    Details:
    - video format is AVCHD (m2ts) coming from a Panasonic HDC-TM90.
    - mostly a single video track with audio, sometimes a second video track layered on top
    - narration track in .wav format
    - soundtrack in .wav format
    - roughly 30 minutes long
    - video files are coming off of the external usb 500GB drive
    - I've played with setting the rendering location to the mostly empty E: drive or the mostly full C: drive - no difference
    - I see from other posts about crashes that a key question is what is the project format set to.  How do I tell??  I chose that a month back (been working on this off and on for a while...) and I don't remember, and don't see how to check the current settings.

    For the Project Settings, choose Edit>Project Settings, and you can see them all, with the General Tab (most important), Capture (should not affect your Project), Video Rendering (again, should not have much info for you now), and Default Timeline (defines how the Timeline is set up initially, and not of any real use here).
    Now, and with the Source Files and Project on your E:\, or your external HDD, how much free-space is on your C:\. That can be very important, especially as with only 2GB RAM, you WILL be using your Windows Page File (Virtual Memory) often, and heavily.
    Now, though this is covered in one of the links in the PrE Crashing & Hanging article (Memory & Resources), how is your Page File managed, and is it located on your C:\?
    Also, is your Project file (the PREL) located with the Source Files, on either E:\, or your external HDD? I know that you have tried several locations. Also, where are your Scratch Disks (Edit>Preferences) set to? Those can be very large, and if one has them pointed to a nearly full HDD, can crash things.
    Last, at least for now, is your F:\ your external HDD? If so, it is formatted FAT-32, and that limits file sizes to ~ 4GB. This ARTICLE will tell you how to Convert a FAT-32 HDD to NTSF.
    Good luck,

  • TS3274 unknown error 3 while attempting iPad restore

    Hello people, I am tired of attempting restore my iPad 32 GB retina (4G) version. Everything goes nice until the last stage of restoration process and when i expect finally to see welcome screen I get message saying unknown error happened while restoring iPad (3) (something like this but not exact same). I tried few times with different ipsw files downloaded (6.0, 7.0, 7.04) but all ended up at the same stage. I also tried with my macbook and pc as well. Can anybody help me with this issue please.

    Thanks for Reply, but it is weired to get such an error after about 20 minute of restoration process...anyway I assume it could be the error with flash memory (bad sectors) or maybe something else but the log indicates multiple errors which i really cannot understand fully.

  • Error creating virtual machine on ESX host

    We are running SCVMM 2012 R2, ESX and vCenter 5.1. I have created a vmdk using VMWare's Virtual Disk utility.
    I am attempting to create a VM from this blank vmdk and receive the following error:
    Error (2947)
    Virtual Machine Manager cannot complete the VirtualCenter action on the server <esx-hostname> because of the following error: Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7. Ensure that the disk has been imported..
    Unknown error (0x194)
    Recommended Action
    Resolve the issue and then try the operation again.
    I do not understand the problem as the disk has been imported in SCVMM and created using VMware's own disk creation utility. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    It looks like your disk drive may have bad sectors on it, and when the dd copy reaches those bad sectors, it reports an error. Check /var/log/messages on the OVM server to see if it reports disk errors.

(current workaround is to store locally and transfer to the cluster via Finder)

    That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard.  FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs.  And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error.  I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check.  1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs?  2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

  • Discoverer 9iASv2: does not run, produces java errors

    Hi,
    I am evaluating Discoverer9ias v2 for my company. We have set up 9iAs infrastructure on a Win2K box, with the main 9ias BI and Forms on another Win2K box.
    After installing everything, the disco plus demo ran fine for a few hours. After that the 9ias admin website and the demo stopped responding. A reboot of main 9ias box was required to fix this. And on the main 9ias servers admin website, the discoverer status always appears as unknown.
    We added a few public connections. The last public connection I tried to define had only the databse service name in it. I was trying to find out if Disco Plus will prompt the user for a userid/password. On clicking 'Apply' I got a Java error. I don't know if the connection got created or not. Since then, Discoverer is NOT WORKING AT ALL!
    The demo url produces this error:

    9ias Restarts and reboots have not helped. The Discoverer Services Configuration page on the 9ias admin website has a 'General Discoverer' option for creating and changing connections. But, clicking on this link also produces an error, even though 'Discoverer Viewer' and 'Discoverer Portlet Provider' links seem to work fine. This is the error:

    A few tips creating a public connection:
    1) Always use capital letters when typing a EUL name
    2) Never leave blank userid or password when defining public connections.
    Althought these are fixed in the up coming patch, you just need to follow the tips for the 9.0.2.39

    I have searched the internet but most similar issues revolve around the resource center. I did find one person who just backed up the databases and provisioned a new site with success, but this has not worked. I am using the farm admin account, but all users
    get this issue.
    Any one got any ideas?

  • Premiere crashed, my project won't open because of an "unknown error," and my autosave apparently stopped working 6 hours ago... Any solution?

    I'm working in Premiere Pro CC 2014 on an early 2014 iMac.  I started to notice my session was getting kind of buggy - audio clips started missing from my timeline, effect controls on some of my video clips had set themselves to the defaults.   So I was trying to fix some of these things as I was editing.  I save compulsively (like after every couple of edits),  so I had not noticed that my session was no longer auto-saving.
    Suddenly Premiere crashed. The recovery file will not open "due to an unknown error."  The original file that crashed will not open either (same message), and I notice the file size is about half of what it should be.  When I tried to open an auto-saved version, I discovered that the last auto-save was last night at about 10 p.m.  (I quit working last night at about 1 a.m., so it just spontaneously stopped autosaving midway through my edit session.)
    I followed all the suggestions I could find in forums.  I trashed preferences, and I moved all my media into other folders.  But the session won't open even far enough that it starts asking for media.  When I create a new project and try to import my old edit sequence, dynamic link won't even get to the point where it asks me to select what sequences I want to import.  It just sits there forever trying to open the file and can't.
    Any  suggestions?

    Additional info - As I look further into the problem, it's even worse than I thought.  The autosave files that say they're from last night are actually referencing work from days ago.  So evidently, my auto-save is either putting incorrect time stamps on the files, or the project files are referencing old sequences.  Either way, I cannot seem to locate a project file that contains a reasonably recent version of my cut, even though the time/date stamps on the files indicate they shouldn't be that old.

  • I cannot save my work in Illustrator CC2014.1 due to an 'unknown error'. Any ideas on a solution?

    Hi there,
    I have produced some work in illustrator and wanting to save before I proceed but Illustrator will not allow me due to an unknown error. I have tried some ideas posted on the web (turning off the visibility of layers, saving as an EPS) but to no avail. I have tried resetting my preferences and turning off sync settings but again no luck. Is anyone else experiencing this and anyone have any ideas on a solution?
    Many thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Jacob,
    Thanks for the idea.
    Tried that, (tried all the Save As options) and the same 'unknown error' occurs. I have tried saving as an Illustrator EPS and a different alert comes up as 'Cannot Save. A necessary item is missing: ID: 192'. No idea what the necessary item is? Mithril? Gold?
    Raghuveer- yes, it still is an issue- joined the connect session and waiting for your response.
    Many thanks,
    Matt

  • An unknown error occurred while executing the PowerShell script:

    Hello all,
    Not the most descriptive title, granted. I'm hoping this may prompt the next version toprovide additional valuable content.
    Kindly requesting any help on this problem. I'm running VMM 2012 R2 version 3.2.7668
    When I try to look at properties of an existing Private Cloud, I get this error, only if I "look" at certain attributes. If I stay away from the specific attributes, everything is hunky dory. For reasons unknown, after I get this error, I have
    to exit and go back into VMM in order to get anything else to run.
    The text in the error dialogue box is not entirely applicable because I was connected to the VMM server and will connect again, when I exit/relaunch.
    An unknown error occurred while executing the PowerShell script:
    The connection to the VMM management server scvmm2.mmmmmm.com was lost.
    Ensure that scvmm2.mmmmmm.com is online and that you can access the server remotely from your computer. Then connect to scvmm2.mmmmmm.com and try the command again using the new connection. Or, you can ensure that the Virtual Machine Manager service is started
    on scvmm2.mmmmmm.com. Then connect to scvmm2.mmmmmm.com and try the command again using the new connection. If the command fails again because of a connection failure, restart the Virtual Manager service and then try the operation again.
    Try the operation again. If the issue persists, contact Microsoft Help and Support.

    Hi Sir,
    First , please try to run the VMM configuration analyzer on that computer :
