CSV file reporting

Hello,
What is the best way to create a csv file with test results? Should I use scripting avalaible in TestStand or implement it in LabVIEW?
Is there an example somewhere? I downloaded a few examples from earlier years but I cannot get them to work with my sequence. They require some container parameters that are not very well documented.
I'd like my csv file to look similar to this:
Date, Time, Operator Name, Test1 name, Test2 Name...

    though your initial post seemed to suggest that you were trying to upload a very large spreadsheet into a table via our DataWorkshop (for which i'd still run with holger's suggestion above), your follow up seems to ask about enabling spreadsheet upload/download from within your app. you probably know by now that it's a pretty simple matter to turn on the ability for your report regions in htmldb to output to csv format. there's a "CSV Output" region on the report attributes page to let you control that stuff. regarding the ability to upload spreadsheet data into a table within HTML DB, there's no functionality built into htmldb for facilitate this for you. i'm still not sure if this is what you're looking for, but i explained a little about what it would take to implement one method of excel data upload functionality into one's app at the bottom of...

  • BEA 9.2 Portal issue: downloaded CSV file contains embedded html code

    We have J2EE application using BEA 9.2 Portal framework, and one of the page has feature to generate report( in pop up window) in CSV file format. As per the history from previous developer, BEA 8.1 didn't have this issue but, after mirgration to 9.2, they started having file download error( incomplete contents ..). To overcome this issue they commented out setting content length to HttpServletResponse as attached below, but this, now, causes html page source code of the parent page( where submit button is clicked to generate csv file report) being rendered along with actual report in the downloaded CSV file. Has anyone have this sort of issue? If so, can you please share your thoughts? or any thoughts in general?

    1) Yes, the old content.tld is available as part of a web library module as a taglib.tld file. The module is: wlp-services-web-lib.war, which can be found in your bea/weblogic92/portal/lib/modules directory.
    2) The new API is accessible from the ContentManagerFactory class.   • Error while refreshing a report using local csv file

    Hi,
    I'm using BI 4.1 SP02.
    While using Rich client, I've created a report with some merged queries, while one of the queries is a local CSV file - saved on AD in some server, and not on the repository inside BO.
    While trying to refresh the report with the Rich client, it all went great.
    Now, while using BI Launchpad java based app, I can't refresh the report - I get the following error:
    "An Internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (WIS 30270)"
    Should I be able to refresh a report without the Rich if it contains a local file (which is possible to EDIT only with rich) ?
    If so, then did someone ran into this error?

    Second,
    my problem is unlikely have to do something with permissions from one reasons -
    when the report is using XLS\XLSX on same folder(with same name prefix) - the report is running without any problem.
    Only problem is while refreshing without Rich while the source is network CSV file.
    Any suggestions?

    Your CSV-File use "comma" as separator. But Excel think, that CSV-File separator is "semicolon".
    Try to set "CSV Separator"=";" in section "Report Attributes" - "Download".

  • Report Total Wrapping/Missing Data in CSV FIle

    PROBLEM:
    We have an application were the totals in the report region will wrap when the total is negative and formatted with a negative sign preceding the number (e.g. -43,567.99). The wrapping results in users being confused to wether or not a value is negative or positive. We want all non-numeric columns to wrap so that the user does not have to scroll horizontally.
    SOLUTIONS TRIED
    1. Set the CCS Style attribute of a column to white-space:nowrap.
    The value of CCS Style is inserted into span tags associated with a column value which in turn elliminates the wrapping in the detailed area of the report. However, I have no found a way to insert this type of span tag to the Total of a report region.
    2. Modifying the format mask to present negative numbers in brackets (e.g. <43,567.99>).
    This solves the wrapping issue . . . however results in a problem when outputting the report to a CSV file. When outputting to a CSV file the negative number that have been formatted using bracket are not included in the output. I believe that it interprets them as html tags <> and therefore eliminates them from the output.
    3. Create duplicate amount columns in the report and apply a number format that places a negative sign in front of negative numbers and make this column display conditionally for CSV output only Then change the original column format mask to use brackets. Although this will work it seem a bit clunky, results in unnecessary pull of excess data and will require a lot of re-work/re-testing of our system.
    REQUEST
    Does anyone have any ideas on how I might either:
    1. Add white-space:nowrap to the totals of the report region
    2. Overcome the exclusion of negative numbers containing brackets from the CSV output.
    3. HAve another approach to resolving this wrapping issue.

    According to this article http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/nobr.html this is a known wrapping issue with Internet Explorer. Wrapping will occure when the following characters exists -()[]{}«»%°·\/!?. The author of the article suggest that the only way around this issue is too place -a or use white-space:nowrap in a [td] or [tr] tag.
    This would suugest that I need to find a way to add html to the total column in the htmldb report . . . which I don't believe I can do . . . Does anyone know of a way to insert html into these total columns similiar to how we can be done using the CCS Style or HTML Expression attributes.

  • Updating information in .CSV file - ongoing report

    i have a script im running that gives me a report of machines currently available on the network and exports that information to a .csv file 
    What im trying to accomplish is AFTER the initial run of the script if the script runs again and the machine is available i would like that cell to update with AVAILABLE as opposed to writing a whole new line item.
    I hope thats a clear explanation. I'm assuming if i use the -append flag it will create new line items which im trying to stay away from as i'm sure this will come in handy when running some dynamic html reporting pages

  • Using .csv files in Crystal Reports for Eclipse?

    I recently installed crystal reports for Eclipse and much of the basic CR functionality seems to be there, but then I added a .csv file as an ODA flat file data source and I can see it in my "Data Source Explorer", but can not seem to drag it into my report to actually report on the data in this file. Am I missing some basic step?

    Not all data sources available via the Eclipse Database Explorer component are supported with Crystal Reports for Eclipse.

    I'm trying to save my excel test report as a CSV file using ActiveX and I'm having difficulty getting started.  I can't find an invoke node method that enables CSV file conversion. 
    Can anyone shed light on this?  See attached screenshot.

    As long as you are using the Report Generation Toolkit, there is no need to use ActiveX for the purpose of saving the Excel file -- Save Report will do that for you.  You can then export (as text) all of the Excel data and use the Write Spreadsheet File to make the .CSV file.  Here is how I would rewrite the final bits of your code --
    I cleaned up the wires around Excel Easy Table a bit.  You'll see I made a VI Icon for Replace Filename, which does (I think) a nicer job of self-documenting than showing its Label.  To make the filename, add the correct extension (.xlsx for Excel, .csv for CSV), use Build Path to combine Folder and Filename, and wire to Save Report.
    The next two functions add the Extract Everything and Write to Spreadsheet, using a Comma as a separator, which makes a CSV copy for you.

    The first csv file is easy (report attributes -> report export -> enable CSV output Yes). However, our users demand 2 csv files with different report columns selected to meet their different needs.
    (The users don't want to have one csv file with all report columns included. They just want to get whatever they need directly, no extra columns)

    I'm doing it usually. Typically example would be in the report only the column "FIRST_NAME" and "LAST_NAME" displayed whereas
    in the csv exported with the UTL_FILE the complete address (street, housenumber, additions, zip, town, state ... ) is written, these things are needed e.g. the form letters.
    You do not need another page, just an additional button named e.g. "export_to_csv" on your report page.
    The csv export itself is handled from a plsql procedure "stored procedure" ( I like to have business logic outside of apex) which is invoked by pressing the button "export_to_csv". Of course the stored procedure can handle also parameters
    An example code would be something like

    Another way to do it would be to use transaction RSCRM_BAPI.
    Not ideal for large volumes but allows you to extract from a query.

  • Report of Groups owned along with group memberships for each group, all in a single .csv file

    Hello all,
    What I'm trying to do is generate a report of all groups owned by a specific user, along with the group memberships, and output it all to a single .csv file. In the .csv file, I would like to have the group names as the column headers, and underneath
    the group name, list all the members of the group down through the column. So for example, if User1 owns 3 groups, the output would look like:
