  • Loading into CSV format file

    I'm trying to load data into csv format file, by adding "," at the "Text Delimiter" at the "Files" tab. However, it adds several commas as:
    ,aaaaaa , ,aaaaaaaa , ,aa,
    ,bbbbbb , ,bbbbbbbb , ,bb,
    ,cccccc , ,cccccccc , ,cc,
    Can anyone confirm if it's right way to load into csv file?

    There is too many commas!
    You should not use a comma in your text delimiter but a quote' or double quote"
    and put a comma in the field separator to have something like
    "aaa","aaaa","aa"

  • Creating CSV format/files from Objects

    Hi,
    Context : I need to convert a linear object (having only one level of member variables) into CSV format.
    Progress: I have been able to create CSV format if strings are passed.
    Requirement: However, I was wondering if it is possible to create the entire CSV at one shot, instead of having to pass the object members separately, as this wud turn out to be very cumbersome for objects with lots of members...
    Is there a way to create a csv file or formatted text, if given a linear object?
    Any pointers appreciated
    Cheers!

    i was wondering....
    if the class is dynamically created at runtime, then we would not be able to build such a functionality. Any thoughts?

  • CSV format file through Report scripts.

    Hello Gurus -
    In hyperion report scripts we can use the "Tabdelimited" syntax to produce the extract where the columns are separated by tabs.
    I was wondering if there is a way to get the columns separated by "Comma" instead of Tabs through the report scripts.
    Any guidance is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

    To produce comma separed report script you could use the MASK command and fixed column lengths.
    If you have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_techref/rw_mask.htm
    It gives an example of producing comma separated report.

  • Exporting report as PDF and CSV formats same time with out executing DB query twice

    Post Author: cpriyanka
    CA Forum: Exporting
    I am using Crystal Report 9.0 version and Java.
    I am getting "PrintOutputController" from "ReportClientDocument"
    And then by calling export(ReportExportFormat.PDF) generating PDF format report.
    Now I need to generate both PDF and CSV format files same time. How can it be done?
    My understanding is when we call "export" it does the DB query execution and other functionality.
    In that case, if I call "export" two times with two different formats, then DB query will be executed twice and that takes lot of time.
    To avoid, is there a way I can all some API so DB query executed once, but I can export report in to multiple formats?
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Are you using the "pull" or "push" method for your crystal reports?  If you are using the "pull" method (the report itself executes the sql) then I believe there is no way around having the query execute twice since it is fired off each time you open and export the report.
    If you use the "push" method, however, then you can just create the recordset/dataset and then set the datasouce once for the report.
    Here's a broad overview of push and pull though the Crystal Report Viewer is used.  The viewer may or may not be applicable in your case:

  • Spooling data in CSV Format

    how can i make CSV format file through SQL.

    That would work if columns do not have commas and double quotes. In general, you would use something like:
    '"' || replace(col1,'"','""',) || '","' || replace(col2,'"','""',) ... || '","' || replace(coln,'"','""',) || '"'
    {code}
    Also, we'd need to set proper linesize and set trimspool on.
    SY.

  • Proxy to CSV format

    Hi
    I have a scenario proxy to CSV format. What are the content conversion parameters i have to use on receiver side for CSV format.
    venkat

    Hi Venkat !!
    Basically, you should use a communication channel with File Adapter, type receiver, message protocol = File Content Conversion.
    Take this XML structure for example:
    <resultset>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
    </row>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</column-name3>
    </row>
    </resultset>
    In content conversion parameters, to obtain a CSV format file, you should enter:
    Recordset Structure: "resultset"  (without quotes)
    In the below table:
