Currency Load to EPMa

I need to be able to create a batch load process to load currency values using EPMa. I attempted to use the standard Planning command line file, but this appraoch does not work with EPMa. I have manually typed in the currency values for the plan scenario and the currency calculations work. My client has nine planning applications with currency and I want to automate the loading of the currency values for actuals, plan, and forecast scenarios. I do not want to have to manually input and edit the currency rates up to twenty seven times (9 plan apps X 3 scenarios), but want to create an automated approach to load the values via a CSV file. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
If you are using Version 11 then you can use the EPMA batch client to automate the process, if you are on version 9 I think you will be very limited to what you can do.

My company has 2 systems HCM and EPMA. We are tying to get the data in sync between these 2 systems. I am new to EPMA and was wondering if there is a way to automate the Metadata loads into EPMA? We recently installed ODI but not sure if this can be done VIA ODI. Any help is appreciated.

How is DRM metadata used to source Hyperion applications? I see there is an XML output of metadata. There is some talk about generating an .ads file. What are the other ways? SQL database views?

Error Converting Currency -- Load from SAP ECC / R/3 to BW / BI

Hi,
I have a custom extractor pulling data from ECC.
However, I am getting the following error.
'Error Converting Currency from USD4 to on 8/27/2008'
RSA3 works fine. PSA load fails and the above message can be seen in the application log in ECC.
Any ideas?

I believe in the transfer rule info object 0currency should be assigned with field from transfer structure which contains Currency . Once the assignment is done , delete data from info cube and reload the data and this time it should give
corresponding currency along with Amount.
Once you are able to see the currencies along with amount second step would be to create Currency translation ( RRC1 ) Put description ( Fixed Currency USD )
Tab page exchange rate : Rate type M
Source currency : From Data record
Target currency : Fixed ( USD )
Time ref. Fixed time ref. (Current datE) ( varies per scenario )
Save it.

Metadata load into EPMA

Hello All,
I am trying t load metadata via Interface tables in my EPMA application. I loaded all the metadata correctly & my application got delpoyed with any error. Hoewever I am having some issue with loading member fromula in my version
dimension. So here is what i did. I have populated the following tables:
1. HS_Version Hierrachy where I define the parent child relationsip & other mandatory property for that member
2. HS_Version_Member where in I defined the formula assocuiated with that member
I then linked these table with my system tables IM_Dimension & run the profile.
When i go to the dimension library in workspace I see that member but somehow it dosent bring the formula over from interface tables.
I did added the formula manually in dimension library & deployed the application & everything woked pretty good.
Is there something i am missing in the process of bringing this formula from interface tabe I am on EPMA 11.1.2.
Has anyone ever loaded formula's via interface table & run into this situation?or may be is there a documnet anywhere which talks about the existing bugs while loading metadata through interface tables?

Currency UDA in EPMA Planning app

Version 11.1.2.0;
I've just upgraded a Classic multi currency Planning app to EPMA. The currency conversion is a manual HBR rule and was working fine in Classic.
Now after converting the rule to Calc Manager, I get the validation error for the part where it looks for the Entity members currency UDA.
( @ISUDA("Entity","NZD") )
I believe that Business Rules (HBR) validate the code against Essbase application while Calculation Manager does it against Planning. Can someone point out how I may resolve this issue. I haven't worked with Calc Manager before.

I was pointed to the below bug, which I believe was fixed in some patch for 11.1.1.3. Due to this one would have believed that 11.1.2.0 would have been fine.
Hsp_Rates dimension members other than Hsp_InputValue and Hsp_InputCurrency (for example, HSP_Rate_USD) do not validate successfully against Planning in Calculation Manager. To work around this, deploy these rules to Planning and launch them without validating them in Calculation Manager (7163027)
I did deploy the rules without validating and they run successfully when launched from Planning. I'm pretty sure now that this bug has somehow remained in 11.1.2.0

Automate DRM metadata load into EPMA

Hi,
We are having metadata maintained in DRM, DRM provides an export in .ads file format, we load the .ads file into EPMA and create / updated dimensions.
If any one can let us know if we can automate the process of loading the .ads output from DRM. If yes what are the options available for automating.

Currency Loading values

Hi Experts,
I have a 2 flat files with "AMOUNT " field, first FF contains USD currency and 2nd FF contains ZAR currency , now i want to load all the contents into the infocube which has amount infoobject with " INR".
Now my question is i have an infoobject with INR but the flat file contains different currencies . will it result in loss of data because another flat file contains ZAR(South Africa currencies).
Plz reply ASAP and plz correct me if i were wrong....

Hi Ravi,
There will be no data loss . The only thing that will happen is suppose you are loading 100 USD . In the report it will appear as 100 INR .
In the transformation we will be able to only map the numerical values .

Hyperion EPMA Currency Dimension

Hi,
I was facing issue while loading the hierarchies for Currency Dimension in EPMA through Interface tables.
I'm able to load Gen2 members, but unable to load Gen3 members which is the child of Gen2 members.
Whether there is any limit for currency dimension to be upload only till Gen2 ???

EPMA 11.1.2.2, EPMA Interface tables, .ADS File

DRM Gurus!
I'm looking for recommendations for updating EPMA with DRM. Thoughts about loading the EPMA interface tables vs using the new EPMA interface that comes with DRM 11.1.2.2 (creates the .ads file)? This client is going to have a large number of attributes... in case that matters. Recommendations are appreciated!

Use the DRM to EPMA templates to create .ADS files. I tend to be a late adopter of new software, i.e., DRM to EPMA using the DRM Web Services API. Wait until the bugs have been ironed out and then try the new adapter on your next gig perhaps.

Currency Conversion in BEX - Converting to Two currencies

Hi,
My requirement is to give the user the option of displaying currency in either EUR or USD in BEX / BO report.
in other words to convert Document currencies amount to EUR or USD.
I have created a currency translation type
Exchange rate = M
Currency Tab -> Target Currency -> target currency from variable OP_CURPR
Time reference = Standard infoObject 0CALDAY.
When I try to run the report, the variable OP_CURPR gives me all the currencies loaded but my actual requirement is to see only EUR or USD and I also noticed that if I do not have EUR / USD then I cannot convert it.
how do I resolve this.

Hi,
I have created a new variable and the result is the same. i.e the document currencies that I have are EUR and CNY. In the selection prompt, I get these same values. but not USD. so it means that I cannot convert to USD since its not in the document currency field.
my source currency is source currency from data record

Loading of DRM export file into HFM

Hi iam new to DRM. I have installed DRM 11.1.2.2. And i have created an export text file now how to load this text file in to my HFM classic application
I have loaded the EPMA templet to drm application, how to use this templet to export my data into HFM again pls anyone explain me with the complete process

ODI metadata integration with EPMA Shared library

Hello all,
we are in the implementation phase of Hyperion Planning and we have to update metadata using some ETL tool into EPMA.
Is ODI integrates with Oracle and EPMA shared library or not.
if not then we have some other tool to integrates the same.

In this case you would have to first load the entire outline of the ESSBASE application in EPMA and then modify the properties accordingly (if reqd).
The entire outline can be loaded to EPMA through a textfile , by going into the dimension library and selecting: file - import profile

EPMA File Generator error

Hi,
I generally use the EPMA File Generator excel template to create my metadata for bulk loading into EPMA Shared Library. For some reason I have started to get errors whenever I open the excel file on my machine. I keep getting the error "Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine."
It seems that the Macro's embedded in the file that assist in the metadata creation require some files/objects that are not available. This is the case with all other machines I've checked in my organization. I have a feeling it might be the result of a updates/patches to Office.
Edit: Even if I don't use the macros and just update the metadata on the existing sheets (dimensions I had already created in the file) I am unable to save the changes as well. I just get the error that the file is corrupted and excel will try to recover. Once I click on OK it just says that the damage to the file was so extensive that recovery is not an option.
Does anyone know what is causing the problem and how to fix it. If a .dll or .ocx can be downloaded and replaced somewhere just to get this file working.

Yes I tried to run it on server but still getting the same error.The Status message is:
1 Validating EPMA import file Successful...
2 Generating EPMA file Failed to generate the EPMA import file...
Details:The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
