Current security patch level

I need to check at least 15 databases for current security path level and I suspect no patches were applied at all. But not sure how to check
Is way to check what current security patch level which was applied to particular Database?

Just to be clear with my situation also. I just patched a 10gR2 with CPUJAN2008 on PROD1 (dev) and completed all post-install tasks. Now i want to import everything from PROD2 (unpatched production 10gR2) via data pump to PROD01 (patched). This is to mirror everything from PROD2 to PROD1 and eventually turn PROD1 to a production DB. Questions are:
1) Can i just import only the data tables? or do i have to import all schemas? (i.e. SYS, SYSDBA, SYSMAN, etc)
2) If I import anything, do i have to reinstall the complete CPU patch? or re-do all the post installation tasks? ie. reccompile objects/views/objects via post scripts?

How to determine 640/J2EE Startup Framework Binary Patch Level?

We are running BI ABAP with Java Add-in on WAS 640/SUSE/Oracle.
In the ABAP world, there are many options for determining the current kernel patch level. Disp+work -v, SYSTEM->STATUS, etc..
How do I determine the patch level of the J2EE startup framework (ie: jlaunch, jcontrol, etc..)? If I run these commands with '-version', I get a patch level of 0. From System Information, the Cluster Kernel Version is 6.40 PatchLevel 105424.313.
What I am trying to determine is if I have the binaries that map to the latest applied SP (18). Do I need to download J2EERTOS18.SAR and apply the bits or has that already been done? Or is the current patch level for the bits fro the J2EERTOS14.SAR file? Etc...
Any tips/suggestions?

While regarding which file(s) to apply, please notice that the files you are not talking like
J2EERTOS16_1, is part of the J2EE support package stack, which can be applied with JSPM.
Regarding the kernel, you can alway refer to note 19466, and downlaod the lastest kernel from:

You can check patch levels from system ---> status
it will open another window in that you can find PATCH level...
OR
You can execute a transaction SPAM and then look for applied patches...
For new patches you need to visit service.sap.com or transaction code OSS1.

I am applying EP6SP2 CM&COLL patch 5 DBPATCH.
current portal version: version=6.0.2.29.0
current C&COLL version: CM_COLL version=60 SP2 Patch 5
Before applying this patch, i applied CM&COLL patch 4 hotfix 8 and the DBPATCH included in tht. Now, after applying CM&COLL patch 5, i tried to apply DBPATCH which comes with CMOLL patch5 SAR file. My database is oracle database. While applying this patch i encountred following error:

Now according to SAP Note 761224, they asked us to use updated DBPATCH attached to this note. But currently there are only 3 files attached of MSSQL. I want the updated ORACLE_DBPATCH files.

In Java I see in the System Info: Kernel Version: 7.00 PatchLevel 108458.44
BUT that doesn't correspond to the real patch level which I can see when I do disp+work which gave me 111

I am not sure whether the patch number you are looking for is available.
Typically you can use "-v" to display the patch level of SAP kernel programs. When I run "jcontrol -v" or "jlaunch -v", the patch number is blank (at least on the 6.40 release I checked)
The SP level should be able to tell how current the Java instance is updated, especially for NetWeaver 7 systems always patched with JSPM stack.

Your current security settings do not allow this file....

Trying to download the latest version of iTunes and get the message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I have made no changes at all, previous to attempting to download this update and have never had a download problem previous to this. I turned off my antivirus and set my browser security to its' lowest security level; still get the same message.

Uh...that would be a tad difficult. I'm not supposed to have it. No one is...yet. I keep in touch with a friend I worked with as a PC tech about 10 years ago at a Best Buy (while in college.) He does Beta testing, sends me odds and ends (that typically wreck my system) and this one halfway works (actually less than half the features.) But, I've escaped bad software in the past using it. Sometimes, however, it prevents good software from loading as well. That's why I have asked if anyone else reported this kind of thing.
The name, if you can find it, is 'Illegal Opcodes Anti-Trash.' Illegal Opcode is a screen name, by the way. And, it was written using Visual Basic. That's about all I can give you; that's pretty much all I know.
If anyone else can verify something similar to this, let me know. I could uninstall it (Anti-Trash) and try again, but I just read other peoples problems and I'm a little leary to say the least. My current version of iTunes still works fine, so why risk it.

Recently we applied patch 47 TO 56 in development system
Please suggest me in the below mentioned point of view.
1) What are the major changes we need to observe or what are scenerio we need to test.
2) what would be disprency while running payroll process, reports, or feature like 40ack, 40ecc,,if any and all.

Check all the correction notes ( You can ask for a report from SAP)
Apply them and check fo the issues. Its a time consuming process and needs attention.
If there are any issues in notes raise a OSS immediately.
1. Check for primary requirements for which you need the change.
Be careful with Form16 - TAN Number based.
Check 80CCF, form 16 Services on portal, form 24.
2. Also test the existing functionalities.

BI Content patch level on BI system and source system

Hi all, hope you can help
our BI and ECC6 systems are separated. My question is, do we need to be on the same BI_CONT patch level in BI and ECC6? Our current patch level in BI is 7.0.3 level 9 and in ECC6 we have not loaded any patches, however we have BI content which was delivered with the install.

Plan on applying the Linux and Solaris versions of all applications patches to the respective servers.

Patches must always be applied in their entirety. If you apply a patch to update
your filesystem, you must also apply the corresponding database and generation
portions of the patch if they are included. When updating the filesystem in a
multi-server environment, you should apply the patch on all servers.
You can see what patches have been applied to which nodes in OAM on the Applied Patches page. Oracle will not advise you to have patch differences, otherwise supportability comes into question due to partial patch application.

SAP GUI 720 (patch level 6) - Date field problem

Hello all,
in selection screens (like transaction IW38) some users use the F4 help and the enter key to select a date (like field "Period"): they jump with the tab key to the field, delete the current entry and then press F4 and hit the enter key in the popup to get today's date. (Reason: faster than using the mouse, they say...)
This does not work anymore with SAP GUI version 7.20: The enter key is not working in the popup. Does anyone know a fix for this or is it intended to work this way?

Interesting is:
I have a PC with an older version of SAP GUI 7.20 (patch level 2). There it works as previously with 7.10 (hitting the enter key in the calendar popup window works).
The reason is (haven't noticed that before), that in 7.20_2 the focus in the calendar popup is in the calendar itself (the lower part). In 7.20_6 the focus is on the top line, where the current date is displayed (like 29.08.2011), and the day is highlighted. The user has to press the tab key to jump from there down to the calendar, and then can press the enter key.
Now the question is: has this been changed from patch level 2 to 6, or is it an SAP GUI option, that can be changed (and that I cannot find)??

The possibility of only backing up security patches

Hi everyone,
I'm pretty new to Windows Server 2012 Native Backup. I have a server that has hardened configuration and security patches applied initially. At this point I need to backup all of it as part of my backup and recovery plan. There are several .NET customer
applications running in my Windows Server 2012 as well. If I use Native Backup tool in Windows Server 2012, my understanding is that it will back up everything inside the virtual machine including all of the custom applications.
My concern is the possibility of backing up only newest security patches/updates installed in my virtual machine. When the machine goes down, I can restore hardened configuration and all security patches. I don't want to restore anything else.
Can built-in backup tool in Windows Server 2012 allow me to do that? Do you know any other tool that help in my case?
Your recommendation would be always much appreciated.

Thanks Tim for your answer. I just wanted to back up initial configuration including security patches only. I didn't want to do machine level backup. Think about a recovery strategy when I only have to get back from the initial configuration with newest
security patches or other policies applied. Machine-level backup looks unreasonable to my plan.

Should we follow the sequence while upgrading to latest patch level?

While applying patches in any module say HR,if my current level is SAPKE60028,Can I dirrectly download SAPKE60034
& upgrade it or should I follow the sequence?
SAPKE60028,SAPKE60029,SAPKE60030,SAPKE60031,SAPKE60032,SAPKE60033,SAPKE60034.

Hi Rachel,
You cannot directly upgrade from a lower level SP level to higher SP level directly for ABAP stack by skipping the ones in between.You will have to follow the sequence and it will also not let you to proceed say from SAPKE60028 to SAPKE60030 unless you have the SAPKE60029 in between.The prior level is checked as a prerequisite in order to advance to the next level.
However, for JAVA statck upgrade it is possible because in Java whatever patch level u choose it is consolidated.For instance, if you are at patch leve 12 at present and want to upgrade to level 17 then the patch level 17 is a consolidated package consisting of all the levels from 1 to 17.While upgrading it removes all the existing previous SP and deploys SP level 17 right from the beginning i.e level 1 to 17.
