Cursor / Mouse Icon

Hi. I want to change my mouse pointer to an open hand on
rollOver and to a grasped hand on click of a button so that the
button looks like its being grabbed. I presume you use the code:
onClipEvent (load) {
startDrag("", true);
Is this correct? My main question though is where do you get
the little white and black pixel icons? I've seen the same open and
grasped hand on a few sites so I presume they're generic default
icons that come with flash? Or flash resource sites? Any
suggestions?
Thanks.

not really, onload is one time event, ONLOAD only.
You need something in-a-loop like setInterval or EnterFrame.
Secondly, no need for Drag, just xmouse and ymouse cords,
provide
much smoother drag than actual drag action
make the icon a movie clip, give it some instance name, than
on
timeline frame :
MCname.onMouseMove = function() {
MCname._x = _root._xmouse;
MCname._y = _root._ymouse;
updateAfterEvent();

  • Change the mouse icon.

    Hi all I need to change the mouse icon.
    I'm using:
    setCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR);
    buet the problem is that this only works inside the application. If the mouse cursors does out of the application (f.e. to the windows desk) the mouse changes into the typical arrow icon.
    What I need is the mouse icon to remain as a sand-watch icon till some opperations are done in the application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dani.

    I believe this behaviour is controlled by the operating system. This is part of the pre-emptive multi-tasking system, the principle being that one busy application should not disrupt the rest of the OS (compare with Win 3.1).
    So I don't think you can do that, and even if you can, you probably shouldn't

  • Custom mouse icons

    I would like to import a different image for a mouse icon on
    several slides. I would like to create the image of a bar scanner
    moving so that the scanner can "read" the code in the lesson I am
    creating. I have Captivate 2, we will be upgrading to Cap 3 in a
    few months.

    Hi pk7162 and welcome to the Captivate community!
    Captivate only supports custom cursors in Windows .CUR
    format, which I believe are limited in size (I want to say 16x16
    pixels). If you have or can find software that creates .CUR files,
    you should be able to import them into Captivate.
    Since that seems awful specialized, you may need to think
    outside the box.
    If you have Flash experience, you might create a moving
    scanner animation in Flash and insert that into Captivate. Or,
    possibly create the scanner as a GIF file with a transparency color
    and then use the timeline to move copies of that image across the
    bar code on your background?

  • Converting mouse icon to hour glass

    Hello all,
    I was just wondering if there's a way to convert the mouse icon from an arrow to an hour glass. The context in which I want to do this is when I have a GUI and I press a button and that button causes a lengthy delay, because of heavy computations, before displaying the next GUI. During this delay, I want to convert the mouse icon to an hour glass just so the user knows to be patient.

        Cursor wait = Cursor.getPredefinedCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR);
        component.setCursor(cursor);
        component.setCursor(Cursor.getDefaultCursor());

  • Pinux mouse icon theme for Arch

    I just created an arch variant of the pingux mouse icon theme. I thought I might share it .

    Thank you!
    P.S.: I've already uploaded updated xcursor-pinux to AUR.
    I created a new archive, which holds both 24x24 and 32x32 versions. Also I noticed that the old 24x24 version had wrong sized cursors in it, which is now corrected. I guess everything should be okay now.
    The new archive can be found here
    About the ubuntu theme, I have no idea. If some of their cursors are better, we should replace some in the arch theme as well

  • Mouse icon disappears!

    Sometimes when I am using photoshop CS3 or flash 9 standalone (and other applications too) the mouse icon disappears. In photoshop when I move my mouse out of the canvas it goes away, to get the pointer back I hit command-tab to bring up the app switcher or I move the mouse back into the image. It only seems to happen in applications with special mouse pointers (like photoshop). Sometimes the pointer icon doesn't go away it just doesn't change to the standard icon. This might be caused by Application Enhancer... which sadly was installed by Logitech Control Center. I uninstalled it but it still might have caused this.

    Sounds like an Adobe problem. Check their user forums. If you think it's related to Logitech's stuff, contact them.

  • Cursor mouse error

    Hello!
    I have a problem with photoshop cs4 cursor mouse. When I click, the click isn't exactly where I had clicked. Is more down.
    What can I do?
    Tks!

    Hi Pedro, this has been discussed before at this forum. A short summary: The problem occurs when you are in full screen mode and the rulers are visible. When you open a document or a Smart Object or create a new document the cursor is displaced by about 10 pixels. You get rid of the problem by hitting the f-key. This changes the screen mode and forces Photoshop to redraw the screen.
    This seems to be independent from the graphic card you use, so I assume this is a bug and hope that Adobe will correct it soon.

  • Fatal error when moving mouse icon in Timeline

    Captivate v5.5
    Has anyone had this or heard of this before ?
    Whilst editing the actions of my slide in "Time Line" I moved the mouse icon beyond the actual time of the slide in error...working too quickly
    As soon as I did this, my project froze and then a minute or so later I got a "Fatal Error" message - which I did not have time to read/capture - and Captivate closed down on me.
    I have no way to support what happened, nor to confirm it was the actions described above, but cannt see what else it would have been.
    Maybe someone out there can shed some light on this.
    Noel

    Lilybiri,
    I agree that under normal circumstances, when you hit the end of the slide in the timeline the object gets a red triangle and if you push further to the right you drag the timeline along with the object.
    Maybe what happened  this moring was triggered by something else (see FYI below) but as it happened at the exact same moment as the mouse object hit the end of the slide I assumed that was what caused the fatal error.
    FYI...I have been suffereing from another series of "Fatal Errors" with this project where I get the message "Text Caption_xyz is either a resereved keyword or is already assigned...." ( http://forums.adobe.com/message/4234746#4234746 ) so that might have been the cause - but the error message went before I had a chance to read it / grab it.
    I guess I will just have to carry on working my projects, with no faith nor trust in Captivate (as normal) and save, save and save again as I go.
    Noel

  • With Standard Labview 6.1, is there a way to set (x,y) cursor-mouse position?

    I am working on a project in standard Labview 6.1 that receives images from a webcam. This image array will then be analyzed to determine the position of a black dot on a white background. This dot will then correspond to an (x,y) coordinate point. We will then feed these coordinates into a program that will set the cursor mouse position to this point. However, we are uncertain on how to interface Labview with the computer mouse controls and are in need of assistance.

    If you are simply wanting to set the coordinates of an existing cursor on a LabVIEW graph, then you can do that using Property Nodes. I have attached an example of this which you could take a look at.

  • Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video - extended monitor shows only mouse icon

    Hi,
    I have been using my Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video for quite a long time with my previous employer laptop. I recently switched job and got a new laptop (Dell XPS 3, Win 8.1). While installing/paring this laptop with the port replicator, I had some issues e.g. extended monitor not getting identified etc. I updated the drivers and now I am able to identify the extended monitor. But the extended monitor shows only the mouse icon and nothing else. I have upto date Intel HD graphics drivers installed in the laptop. Intel's Graphics control panel doesn't show the extend option for the USB monitor, but able to still move the mouce icon to the extended monitor.
    Any help/pointers to fix this issue is highly appreciated.

    I have the exact same problem on my W510. Everything but the screen Works. I cannot however do duplicate screens. That would help a Little bit, so I could use the big monitor instead of just the laptop.
    Please fix this Lenovo!

  • System preferences crashes when mouse icon is selected. All other icons seem to function.

    System preferences crashes when mouse icon is selected. All other icons seem to function.Software is OSX 10.7.5. Update shows software is updated. I tried to reset the PRAM, but it did not help. When resetting PRAM, I did not get a 2nd klaxon on startup.

    That implies that the underlying OS is corrupted. Best thing to do is boot into recovery mode and reinstall the OS, unless you have an installer copy. If so, use Pacifist to reinstall the SystemPreferences app.

  • Satellite T - black screen with only the mouse icon

    Hi,
    I have a recurrent problem in my Toshiba.
    Suddenly after some updates from Microsoft PC doesn't start.
    It doesn't appear the login screen just the mouse icon, nothing else.
    Tried the recovery console from windows but no luck.
    My only solution was the recovery image from Toshiba.
    It's the second time already I get this problem.
    Everything else works great. Any idea?

    Sorry I dont understand this: +It doesn't appear the login screen just the mouse icon, nothing else.+
    What mouse icon do you see?
    Can you see the Toshiba splash screen while powering on the unit?
    Does the system boots up or how can you see the mouse icon (whatever this should mean)?
