Custom Aggregates in BI (Reporting)

Currently, we have Oracle Sales Analyzer (OSA) as Our tool for the Sales Reporting, we are going to replace this tool by BI 7.0.
Currently, the final users can create customs aggregate in the OSA GUI, this means, that they can create a new item in the dimension as the sum of two other item of the same dimension. For Example, in the Dimension Product, we have the SKU1 and the SKU2 the user can create a new item call SKU3. And this new SKU3 (SKU1 +  SUK2) is avaliable to include in all the different reports where we have the dimension Product.
I would like to know if we can have this functionallity in BI 7.0? and if this functionality depends of the final users or the IT Team?

Hi,
As per the definition of BI we can only read from it. I mean be it any datawarehouse, it will have only read only property.
The analysts will use the Bex Analyzer to analyze any data in BI and he has the freedom to do anything with the data in the Analyzer using common Excel functionalities, like adding 2 key figures that you have just mentioned here. If he wants to circulate his analysis, he can circulate it to his colleagues using Broadcast or Publish in BI
You will have to read through these functionalities and see if it matches your requirement.
And if the analyst is doing some kind of planning activity by adding key figures, then BI has its planning capabilities where in it allows you to write into BI as well.
Integrated Planning in BI itself is a different domain.
Hope this gives you an idea of how diverse SAP BI can be !

  • Customer and Vendor ageing report by ItemGroup@%@#$%@#$??

    Hi All
    How do we get Customer and Vendor ageing report by "ItemGroup"?
    I know there is a standard report in Business One which gives you the ageing report by Business Partner Group.  But I dont know whether it is possible to get by "ItemGroup".  Please help me and excuse me for weird requirement..

    that query is actually designed for getting the purchase reports with all the excise and other tax related information per line item in the marketing document.   my requirement is something different than this where the client wants to see the ageing report by Itemgroup. 
    Since ageing is based on the invoice due date it looks difficult to bifurcate the each individual line item, its group, its line total and their due date.  means we should add all the open invoices' line items to be grouped with its total based on the due date.  any other way to solve this?

    we are using this report Customer Open Balance Aging Report S_ALR_87012178 but when run, it brings customers' names from VD03 search field, instead it would be handy to see full names from Name-field. I understand S_ALR_87012178 is a static report, but my question would be is there any other transaction/report which shows the same but with customers' full name?

    S_ALR_87012178 is the only standard customer aging report.
    Following two solutions I could think of to fit your requirements.
    Develop a custom report by copying standard customer reports that have full customer name and make changes according to your need.
    Or
    In report S_ALR_87012178 the customer name is populated in Address field. So you can use this field as your customer name and develop a custom report.

    In customer due date analysis report S_ALR_87012068 figures are different from customer local currency report.  In vendors due date analysis report figures matches with vendor local currency figures. But some different amount is showing in customer due date analysis report why it so? FBL5n also showing some different amount

    it will not get the sales report with customer group wise in standard SAP.
    in standard you will get the data for the following selection :
    a. Sales Office wise : MC-E
    b. Sales Organization wise : MC+2
    c. Material(Article) wise : MC+Q
    tell me one thing, whether u need the report customer group wise or customer account group wise.

    There is a lot of scope for performance tuning the code:
    1. Read statement should be with BINARY SEARCH
    2. Select statement should have FIELDS in the same order as they exist in the table
    3. Select statement where clause should have fields in same order as they exist in the table.
    4. Internal tables seem to be having a huge number of fields. If possible, please limit the fields to only required fields in the internal table.

    Ravi,
    Which extra field do you want to add or see?  Without specifying the field, it is difficult for one to tell you precisely whether you need a custom field or just change the layout to get the standard one.
    There are so many fields which exists but are not displayed when you execute 2KEE. You need to change the layout selections to your preference.
    Nonetheless, if the field you want to add does not already exist, then yes you can do customization.  Is there a customization requirement? No. But remember, you are making changes to SAP Standard program which will no longer be supported by SAP should in the case an issue arise in the future related to this very program.
    Have your abaper add the said field in the program or why not just create a query to pull the report?

    You can use the BAPI: BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETDETAIL2. In the EXPORT parameter you have a structure for Customer Addr. (CUSTOMERADDRESS LIKE BAPICUSTOMER_04).
    The PO BOX is in BAPICUSTOMER_04-PO_BOX.

    I'm using Oracle 11g, Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0).

    I never tried to put a custom aggregate function into a package. First - the cases when you need a custom aggregate function to be written for your system are very rare. Second - even if I needed 1 then I never needed 2 or more custom aggregate functions on my system. And as I do not like to make my life more complex than necessary, I have created it as a stand-alone function. And it is works (slowly).I tried using a standard table as you suggested:
    CREATE TABLE TEST_DATA
    test_value NUMBER
    INSERT INTO TEST_DATA
    (SELECT column_value test_value from TABLE(vector(1, 2, 1, 45, 22, -1)));
    COMMIT;
    select my_sum(test_value) from test_data;
    select my_functions.my_sum(test_value) from test_data;
    I also tried removing the PARALLEL_ENABLE clause to create the package as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE MY_FUNCTIONS AS
    FUNCTION MY_SUM(input NUMBER)
    RETURN NUMBER AGGREGATE USING SUM_AGGREGATOR_TYPE;
    END;
    And unfortunately it still breaks with the following error: SQL Error: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17090]. This looks like an Oracle bug to me as the PL/SQL parsing engine should have disallowed me to even create this if it is not supported in Oracle. Instead, it allows me to create the package, and breaks when I call the function with this weird error (additionally cutting my connection from the database) instead of disallowing me to do this altogether and printing a nice error message telling me that Oracle doesn't support this. How would I go about logging a ticket for this?

    Our Client requirement is to get customer wise TDS Receivable Report. As of now they are passing manual entry whenever they get the TDS certificate from the customer.
    Is it possible to configure in SAP to pass automatic entry for TDS receivable report.

    I think there is no configuration for TDS receivable, but we can capture the tax amount in expenses account while sales invoice posting (same as cash discount procedure) and see the report in Tax expenses account.

    IF you are in ECC 6.0, you can use enhancement option or if you are below the version, you would have to copy into Z program and then create Ztransaction for this. In Z program, you can add whatever you want.
