Custom Approval mechanism for file submit

Hi,
we want to have an approval mechanism for our own files in a customer project. The standard manage items with approval mechanism does not suit our needs, but can we make use of this approval feature in other ways?
Is there some hidden Workflow in the Portal API's or somewhere else.
We know that we can integrate Oracle Workflow, but this is not what we want right now.
Thanks.

There are no supported APIs for implementing your own approval process. This is something we're planning for a future release.

Jerry

    Hi,
    I have run into the same problem with SOA 11.1.1.5 version. In my case after fixing the following two errors it seems to work fine.
    If you have followed the guide, there must be some errors:
    First the java code if copied then contains an extra enter value:
    Instead of:
    "try {
    System.out.println("Prototype for invoking an OIM API from a SOA Composite");
    System.out.println("RTM Usecase: Self Registration Approval by Organization
    Administrator");"
    Use the following:
    "try {
    System.out.println("Prototype for invoking an OIM API from a SOA Composite");
    System.out.println("RTM Usecase: Self Registration Approval by Organization Administrator");"
    The other error is that you should not use <BEAHOME>/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/jps-manifest.jar, but the <BEAHOME>/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/jps-api.jar in jdeveloper. After these the deployment to the application server works fine for me.

  • Approval Workflow for Self Registration

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement where I have to develop an approval workflow for self registration.
    My requirement is If the user type is Employee the user must not go through approval, but if the user type is contractor they must go to some admin user for approval.
    How can I achieve this.

  • Custom Approval Templates

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to add UDO screen, to the Documents section of Approval Templates screen.  With this, I would like to add a custom approval template for my own screen / document.
    For Example:
    When I goto Administrator --> Approval --> Approval Templates --> Documents, I see a list of screen names, for which we can set custom Approval Templates.  Can I add any other screen, which is missing here (either a SAP screen or an Add-on screen)?

    I'm afraid this is not possible in current b1 system.
    This is because the Approval Template background logic are designed with hardcode. This makes it not possible for the users to integrate their own documents with the b1 Approval module.
    Possible workarounds are like adding own restrictions to certain document change and send an alert to the manager. However, these logics should be realized by the customer add-on itself, rather by the b1 approval module.

  • Error while uploading .xml file for Customer/Vendor List for Italy

    Hi All,
    We are facing problem while uploading the .xml file in DMEE transaction for the new Customer/Vendor List for Italy.
    We have followed the entire process given in the OSS Note(1090857).
    We have SAP 4.6c and followed the below steps:
    1. Created ID-FI-IT Development class
    2. Added domains
    3. Added Data elements
    4. Tried to upload the given .xml file and got any error saying ".xml file could not be interpreted".
    Also there is a .SAR file mentioned to upload if we receive any errors while uploading .xml file.
    Tried uploading the .SAR file also. STill we are recieving the same Error.
    Can any one of you help us out.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Ramesh

    Ok, we upload .SAR file in this way:
    1. unpack .SAR file with SAPCAR.EXE program. Yuo obtain 2 files
    R492445.P9C and K492445.P9C
    2. put K492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\COFILES and put R492445.P9C in directory \SAPMNT\TRANS\DATA of your system (DEV, TST or PRD)
    3. Use Tx STMS. If You want create DMEE tree in DEV system, go to DEV import queue. Choose menu Extras | Other requests | Add. Insert P9CK492445 in Transp. request field.
    4. Import the request. This creates the DMEE tree. You don't need ti upload XML file after. You can see the DMEE tree created with Tx DMEE and inserting
    Tree type        UMS1
    Format tree     IT_CUST_VEN_LIST
    5. after continue follow the note
    I hope this help you

  • URGENT! File Upload Utility or a Custom UI for File Upload is needed!

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to find or develop a file upload utility or custom user interface rather than editing and adding file type item to a page. There is a free portlet for file upload in Knowledge Exchange resources, but it is for 3.0.9 release. I'm using portal 9.0.2.
    I could not any sample about the new release. Also API such as wwsbr_api that is used to add item to content areas is out dated.
    I create a page with a region for "items". When "edit" page and try to add an "file" type item the generated url is sth like this;
    "http://host:7779/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_additem.selectitemtype****"
    After selecting item type as a simple file autogenerated url is sth. like ;
    "http://host:7779/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_add_wizard.edititem"
    I made search about these API but could not find anything (in PDK PL/SQL API help, too).
    I need this very urgent for a proof of consept study for a customer.

  • Unable to establish a for loop in custom rtf template for seeded xml file

    Hi Experts ,
    I am Unable to establish a for loop in custom rtf template for seeded xml file. i am using <?:for-each:G_BSALINE?> FORM FIELD .....<?:FOR-EACH?END> .AM i missing something?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Need more information about your XML data structure; however based on the code you provided, the synax does not look right; you have some colon sign where it is not needed etc... You could use the following (although not quite sure if you want to use Form Filed to group by or just display), but look at the example provided below.
    <?for-each-group:G_BSALINE?> FORM FIELD .....<?end for-each-group?>
    Example code:
    <?for-each-group:G_INVOICE_NUM;./INV_TYPE?>
    xxxxxxxxxx
    <?end for-each-group?>
    Thanks!

    In the current systems of CfTE system 1408 we see the option to select "custom approver determination" in the work distribution in the activity approval process for Expense Report.
    In the Approval Process for Itinerary & Approval Process for Trip Request we did not see the option to add custom approver determination in the value help of work distribution field.

  • Is there a 2GB file size limit on saving a custom format plugin for a custom file type?

    I have resolved issues on reading files > 2GB. Now when I save files >2GB, I get a popup that states there is a 2GB limit for plugins.
    I an using photoshop CS6 on a MAC OSX 10.9 with 16 GB RAM.
    The custom file type is what should be selected when the Save As Dialogue is visible.
    I looked for a setting in the Photoshop preferences for Files & setting to PSB, but did not see one.
    I tried modifying values in the PiPL for formatmaxSize and PluginMaxSize, but the only values that the code will compile in with:
    32767 & 2147483647.
    I saw a posting in previous years that custom plugins were limited to 2 GB.

    I would like to rephrase my question, now that I have worked a little more with my code.
    Is there a 2GB limit per channel and 4GB limit for total file size for a custom photoshop format plugin?

  • Is it possible to adding a "standard" custom approver?

    Hi forum,
    We have a requrement that the user needs to approve the last stage. I've been experimenting with custom field and adding  <virsa_ae_wrkflapvr ID="ZTRAINEE" APPROVER="ZTRAINEE" wftype="AE"/> to the init_clean_snf_insert_data file. As far without success. Is it possible to adding a "standard" custom approver?
    These users will be registred in UME through LDAP.
    Kind Regards,
    Vit Vesely
    Edited by: Vit Vesely on May 17, 2010 9:22 PM

    Hi VIt,
    it is possible to create a custom field that automatically fetches the user id by using LDAP mapping concept.
    What you can  do this bycreate a custom fields in CUP of field type as text. Then Go to Configuration-> fields mapping-> LDAP mapping.
    Now in additional field  select the custom field in AC field and user id ( "sAMAccountName" in case of active directory ) in LDAP field.
    Now when user login from end user form its information will come to CUP application userid will be also populated in the custom field that you have created.
    If you want provisioned user to be the approver it is difficult to achieve but can be done by one solution  In CUP apart from the standard approvers , you can create custom approver determanator. Configuration->Workflow->Custom Approver Determinator. It can be created on the basis of various CUP.attributes like request type, priority, role, custom fields etc. But you have define clearly in this if request has this value for this attribute than this will be the approver. So above created custom fields will have userid right. So you can create CAD for this custom fields. and than can define if User id is this then this is the approver. In you case if Custom field has values USER_NAME that Apprvoer is USER_NAME. All users in this case should exist in UME. Also CAD needs to be maintain for every user this will be tedious task. you can upload this by excel sheet also.
    Hope that it would be helpfull..
    Kind Regards,
    Srinivasan

    If you are concerned about the impact, apply the patch with apply=no added to the adpatch command line, or do an Oracle Applications Manager patch analysis on it. On 11.5.9, you had to download the patch yourself, and place it in the patch_top defined in OAM.
