Custom Column header in MDX

Hi guys,
I am trying to fill MDX query result to a datatable. When i fill datatable column header like [Dim
Date].[Day].[Day]. I need it Log Date.
Is there any way to change column header ? I mean, in TSQL we using
select firstName [User] from users
Query is generating dynamically.  So I am not prefer to change column header after fill datatable
Is there any way to achieve this ?
Thanks in advance

Hi Musthaan ,
I hope I understood you . Adding an example on Adventure Works :
with member [Measures].[Your Header]
as iif(iserror([Ship Date].[Calendar Year].currentmember)
,null,[Ship Date].[Calendar Year].currentmember.name)
member [Measures].[Your Measure]
as iif(iserror([Measures].[Internet Order Count])
,null,[Measures].[Internet Order Count])
select
[Ship Date].[Calendar Year].[Calendar Year] on 1
, {[Measures].[Your Header],[Measures].[Your Measure],[Measures].[Internet Order Count]} on 0
from [Adventure Works]

  • How to access AdvancedDatagrid column Header information?

    I have an AdvancedDatagrid with custom Column header
    renderers.
    column = new AdvancedDataGridColumn("Header Text");
    column.headerRenderer = new
    ClassFactory(PE_FilterHeaderRenderer);
    MyAdvancedDataGrid.columns = [column];
    Within my header renderer class I have some code to implement
    the children the way that I want. Now.. does anyone know how to
    access those headers from the outside without storing off an
    intance of the header itself within the class. Basically, I need to
    get the right header and access an accessor within that header to
    set something to change the header text and such if the user does
    something to the datagrid. Any ideas would be helpfull..
    Thanks!

    Hi Michael,
    If you just want to retrieve the data, you could use the following code.
    //Get the node which the table is bound to
    IWDNode node = wdContext.nodeTable();
    //iterate thru the elements
    for(int i = 0 ; i<node.size();i++)
      IWDNodeElement ne = node.getElementAt(i);
      Object value = ne.getAttributeValue("<column name>");
      //Here you have the data in the value variable
      //and you can manipulate this now

  • Column header customization using rowspan and colspan

    Hi,
    I want to implement customized column header using rowspan and colspan.
    This can be done in html easily but not sure how I can implement in HTML DB.
    Anybody has idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    <table border="1">

    Thanks Raj,
    you'd want to do this kind of formatting from your report template. we have a technote out on report templates at...
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_htmldb_format.html
    ...and, so you know, you'd want to enter your custom col header html into the "Before Rows" field of your template definition screen (kinda like step 8 that's above Figure 5 in the technote).
    hope this helps,

So I would consider this sizing behaviour a bug.*

  • Piot table customized grouping of column header

    Dear Friends.
    I have a requirement from the client. I have 4 measures with the column heading A,B,C,D year wise
    Now my requirment in I want to add header on top of the A,B,C,D column, Say X and Y.
    Under X - A,B and under Y-C,d will be grouped.
    .......X.....!.....Y........
    .....A..B...!...C..D......
    Please suggest how to do this in 11g.
    thanks nd regards
    fiaz

    Hi Ian,
    You can't directly set the alignment of column headers or data. The way it works is that you can specify a columnFormat inside your column for example:
    <columnFormat columnDataFormat="iconButtonFormat"/>
    And then UIX will decide how to align the header and data in teh column for that type of data. I don't believe there is a way to control the alignment of the column header independently of the columnDataFormat.

  • LOV of column names with a report's custom column headings?

    I have a list ov values definition that looks like this:
    select column_name d, column_name r from all_tab_columns where table_name = 'DATABASE_LIST'
    I'd like to list the custom column headings from a report as d, rather than repeating the column_name. How can I do this?

    As Anton said, the best thing is to store your custom headings in a table so that you can use the table for your LOV as well as for your report headings.
    To use dynamic report headings, you can use the 'PL/SQL function body returning colon-delimited headings' feature on the Report Attributes page.
    So, if your report headings are stored in table t that function body can be
    declare
    l_headings varchar2(4000)
    begin
    for rec in (select heading from t) loop
       l_headings := l_headings||':'||rec.heading;
    end loop;
    return ltrim(l_heading,':');
    end;Hope this helps.

  • Interactive Report (IR) column heading: filtered items number & flashlight

    Hello everyone
    several hours of searching through the forum did not provide me with leads or answers to 2 questions. Both are related to the IR column heading menu and options. Let's start with a copy of the relevant portion of the interactive report help screen:
    Column Heading Menu
    Clicking on any column heading exposes a column heading menu.
    [snip]
    Text Area is used to enter case insensitive search criteria (no need for wild cards). Entering a value will reduce the list of values at the bottom of the menu. You can then select a value from the bottom and the selected value will be created as a filter using '=' (e.g. column = 'ABC'). Alternatively, you can click the flashlight icon and the entered value will be created as a filter with the 'LIKE' modifier (e.g. column LIKE '%ABC%').
    List of Unique Values contains the first 500 unique values that meet your filters. If the column is a date, a list of date ranges is displayed instead. If you select a value, a filter will be created using '=' (e.g. column = 'ABC').
    Q1: Why do I not see a flashlight icon? I looked everywhere in the report definition to "enable" it, to no avail.
    Q2: Although we've found IRs to be incredibly useful and embraced by end users, we are having issues when dealing with large datasets. Let's look at searching for people's first/last name in our CONTACTS table. The table is ~28,000 names long. If one attempts to use Column Heading menu to "filter" for any name outside the first 500 unique values, the search does not work. Yes, I know that a workaround is to use Actions Menu icon filter... but, it sure is misleading to have a search which does not go beyond letter B in the list of last names. Furthermore, I do not see a way to DISABLE Column Heading Text Area, and avoid user confusion.
    I suspect that "List of Unique Values contains the first 500 unique values" was set for the performance purposes. Is there a way to set that number anywhere? Have it customized for each column? (columns county and state could be <100, for example)
    Thanks an advance to any advice.
    Vojin

    @Prabodh: what you say is only changing the default image for the column selector at the search bar level. What i think is being looked for is an icon on the popup when a column header is clicked in an IR. Don't bother: there is none.
    @Vojin, Tonibony:
    I also ran into this problem with IRs and the useless column header box. If you want to hide the unique values list, it is a bother. First of all, you can't disable the finding of values, this is embedded in the widget ajax code. Then if you want to just hide the list, there is no real event you can hook up to. The poping up of the box is an ajax callback, and is part of the IR javascript, but this callback does not trigger any event (no apexafterrefresh for example, which is understandable). I've worked around this by overriding/extending the method which is called when ajax is done loading within the IR code. Here is a piece of code which does this (call it on page load):
       // _Finished_Loading is called when the IR is done with a GET action
       // because the posts are synchronous in this report, and no events
       // or hooks are available, the best way to preserve functionality
       // yet extending it is to override the original function, yet
       // keep the base code
       // apexafterrefresh cant be used since it is not triggered after
       // the widget ajax
       var or_Finished_Loading = gReport._Finished_Loading;
       gReport._Finished_Loading = function(){
           //overriden, but still have to call orinigal!
          or_Finished_Loading();
          //SORT_WIDGET is the widget containing all the header elements
          if(gReport.current_control=='SORT_WIDGET'){
             // hide the original dropdown box
             $("#apexir_rollover_content").hide();
       };If you're interested, i've recently developed a plugin for use in my interactive reports which works around some of these limitations. For me, the headers are much more userfriendly than the actions > filter menu. So what i've done is: hide the orignal dropdown, and turn the searchfield into an autocompletion field, which will progressively search through the distinct column values in the IR with ajax. I've even made an option to have the searching behave like a "contains" or a "like". I'm working on a post about it, with background, documentation and source code. I'll add a post here when i finish it up, you can see if that helps you.
    I also would like to add a button later on which will simply add the entered value as a "like %value%" filter. I know how to do this and what to do, i'm just a bit short on time at the moment. I actually think that adding the button in the layout may be the hardest part... :')

  • Import From Folder: How to Extract the File Name in a Custom Column.

    Hello All
    Here´s what we´re trying to do:
    We have a folder with csv files named like this:
    Sales_2013-02-05.csv
    Sales_2013-02-04.csv
    Sales_2013-02-03.csv
    Sales_2013-02-02.csv
    Sales_2013-02-01.csv
    And in the csv files there are the sales columns but not the date column.
    So we want to extract the date from the file name.
    I´ve tried entering = Source[Name] in a custom column, but it adds a "LIST" link, and on a click on expand, it adds ALL file names from the folder in each row, instead of just the needed one.
    If we could get the proper file name in each row (from where they got extracted), we could split the column and get the date from there. But I don´t know how put the filename there properly.
    Can you help?

    This isn't entirely straightforward, but it's definitely possible. What you need to do is to apply all of your transforms to each individual file instead of the combined files. I do that as follows:
    1) Use Folder.Files as generated by the GUI to look at the list of my files.
    2) Pick one file and do all the transformations to it that I want to apply to all of the files. Sometimes, this just amounts to letting the autodetection figure out the column names and types.
    3) Go into the advanced editor and edit my code so that the transformations from step 2 are applied to all files. This involves creating a new function and then applying that function to the content in each row.
    4) Expand the tables created in step 3.
    As an example, I have some files with names that match the ones you suggested. After steps 1 + 2, my query looks like the following:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        #"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv" = Source{[#"Folder Path"="d:\testdata\files\",Name="Sales_2013-02-01.csv"]}[Content],
        #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(#"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv",null,",",null,1252),
        #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
        #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
    in
        #"Changed Type"
    For step 3, I need to take steps 3-5 of my query and convert them into a function. As a check, I can apply that function to the same file that I chose in step 2. The result looks like this:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        #"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv" = Source{[#"Folder Path"="d:\testdata\files\",Name="Sales_2013-02-01.csv"]}[Content],
        Loaded = Loader(#"d:\testdata\files\_Sales_2013-02-01 csv")
    in
        Loaded
    Now I apply the same function to all of the rows, transforming the existing "Content" column into a new value:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        Transformed = Table.TransformColumns(Source, {"Content", Loader})
    in
        Transformed
    Finally, I need to expand out the columns in the table, which I can do by clicking on the expand icon next to the Content column header. The resulting query looks like this:
    let
        Source = Folder.Files("d:\testdata\files"),
        Loader = (file) =>
            let
                #"Imported CSV" = Csv.Document(file,null,",",null,1252),
                #"First Row as Header" = Table.PromoteHeaders(#"Imported CSV"),
                #"Changed Type" = Table.TransformColumnTypes(#"First Row as Header",{{"One", Int64.Type}, {"Two", type text}, {"Three", type text}})
            in
                #"Changed Type",
        Transformed = Table.TransformColumns(Source, {"Content", Loader}),
        #"Expand Content" = Table.ExpandTableColumn(Transformed, "Content", {"One", "Two", "Three"}, {"Content.One", "Content.Two", "Content.Three"})
    in
        #"Expand Content"
    From here, you should be able to get to what you want.

  • Updating custom column in Existing workitem after Refresh click in SBWP

    Hi Experts,
    Scenario:
    After the PO, the invoice receipt from vendor  is scanned to PDF. In OAWD transaction user as below they provide the description.
    A work item comes to SBWP for task TS000007869(standard) for the corresponding Invoice. The description that we provide in OAWD comes as a title in inbox. Business Object used : IMAGE (has no link with PO),
    So I am thinking if we ask client to provide PO no. in format::  <Description>_ <PO no>    , then we can extract the PO from the description and then corresponding GR is weather made or not.
    Requirement :
    Client wants to add another column to that SBWP inbox which will notify them that weather GR for for corresponding PO is made or not by some status sign.
    Problems :
    BO (IMAGE) has no link with PO as its only processing the scanned PDF.
    No idea for situation where after the creation of work item in SBWP if any dynamic value can be updated or not in the custom column, (i.e at the time work item creation if GR is not made and say after 2 hrs GR is made, so when click REFRESH button in SBWP the new  column should be updated with some sign)
    Hope you experts got my issue nd kindly provide me some suggestions.
    Revert for any clarifications.
    Thanks.

    Hi Soumya
    The Task TS000007869, is it stand alone - triggered directly by an application or is part of a workflow in your system?
    If it's a standalone, not much can be done as you would need to do some coding for your requirement.
    If it's a part of the workflow, you can create a virtual attribute in the base BO, in the coding of which would read the description, extract the PO, get the GR, if found set the attribute value to YES. Then set the dynamic columns (see link: Create Dynamic Columns - Wiki - SCN Wiki ) . Whenever the list is refreshed, the virtual attributes are recalculated and would let the users know the GR status.
    However, there can be a performance impact as this will happen for all workitems of that Task.
    also,  the column names will be displayed with the header specified in the configuration SWL1 only when all  the work items in the inbox belong to the same task. Otherwise, it will use ‘Dynamic Column’ as the header of the column.
    Also see if you can use BADI WF_BWP_DYN_COLUMN ...some points can be picked up from SCN thread: http://scn.sap.com/thread/2007514

  • Passing prompt value to column header

    Hi experts
    I'd like to change the column header dynamically.
    the report is using presentation variable so it's displayed after the user had selected a value in the dashboard prompt and clicked on go.
    I'd like to have in the column header the value that the user had selected in the dashboard prompt.
    Is there anyway to do that??
    Regards

    Hi,
    Yes. you can do that by creating presentation variable.
    What you have to do is , create the presentation variable like LOCATION_NBR in the prompt, like this you can create as many as you want to display it in the header.
    The next step is to display the value the user selects in the prompt that should display in the header, for that , you can create narative and like the following things and achieve it.
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td bgcolot ="#00080" width="1500" height="25" align="center">
    The location No is @{LOCATION_NBR}
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    Since we define the presentation variable in Prompt and use it narative view we able to display the header based on the customer choose it from prompt
    I hope the above explanation will resolve your requirement

  • How to sort data in descending order when user clicks on the column heading

    Hi
    I have a report called "Top customers", which shows the top customers for a specific product line. It displays the customer name and one column with the total amount spent in the period for each product line. By default, the leftmost product line is sorted in descending order.
    If the user wants to know who are the top customers for another product line, they simply click on the column heading to sort the list by that column.
    The problem is that when you click for the first time on a sortable column heading, Apex sorts it in ascending order; you need to click on the same column heading again to sort in descending order.
    Is it possible to change this behaviour and sort the data in descending order in the first click? So the users don't have to click twice...
    Thanks
    Luis
    PS: Apex 3 running on Oracle 10.2.0

    Luis,
    See: Can I "catch" a click on a sortable column header of a report?
    Take a look at Anton Nielsen's answer with regards to hiding a column and displaying its value instead of the sortable column.
    Asumming the following simple report query:
    select product,sales
    from <table>
    Change that into:
    select product
    ,sales*-1 as reverse_sales -- Select this one as an extra column
    ,sales -- Hide this column
    from <table>
    In your report column attributes (of column reverse_sales), html-expression, type #sales#. It then displays the normal sales. However apex will generate a 'order by 2 asc' for the first time. The '2' will refer to the sales*-1 value: sorting it asc, is the same as sorting sales descending...

  • Show the period value in column header using Text Variable

    We are using Posting Period & Financial Year to calculate YTD & MTD, for current year and previous years. These posting period and financial year characteristics are custom created characteristics we are using due to customer specific requirement.
    Input values are posting period, financial year and numeric value. To calculate previous year, I need to subtract numeric value from the input financial year. Every thing is working fine up to this.
    In the report I need to show the posting period and financial year values dynamically in each column header of the report for MTD, YTD for current year & previous year. I tried to achieve this using Text Variables, but I didn’t succeed. If some one can give me some idea to resolve this, it would be very helpful.
    I am excellent in ABAP coding. If you can specify me to code in User Exit, I can do it.
    Column headers should be 08.1999 Sales Qty, 08.2008 Sales Qty, 1999 Sales Qty, 2008 Sales Qty.

    Hi Abhinav,
    Try using the content text variables 0T_FYEAR and 0T_FPER3, when used in the head these variable should display the year and period specified in the RKF.
    e.g
    &0T_FPER3&. &0T_FYEAR& Sales Qty = 08.1999 Sales Qty
    If that doesnt work, try creating text replacement path variables referencing the variables you created for the year and period input. To do this click on the RKF and click on the dropdown by the yellow box next to the description on the general tab and select New Variable, enter the description, tech name and set processng by to Replacment Path, then select period as the ref. characteristic, then on the replacement path tab change replace variable with to variable and then select the variable you are using for the period input, save then hit ok, this is now a text representation of the variable your are inputing for period and can be used in the column headers, you will need to repeat the process for the fiscal year.
    Hope this helps

  • AP to GL Transfer: How to have a custom Journal Header name in GL.

    Hi,
    Does any one know how to have a custom Journal Header name while transferring the Journals from AP to GL?
    Assume that I am transferring the Journals which belongs to a Single Invoice from AP to GL. When these Journals are transferred from AP to GL, Oracle will create a Journal Header with the default naming convention. The Oracle generated Header name will be as shown below.
    *123456 Purchase Invoices USD*. Where 123456 is AE_HEADER_ID and USD is the Invoice Currency code.
    Our requirement is, we want the Journal Header name something like *"Hello World"+TIMESTAMP*, where TIMESTAMP is the date when the user has ran the AP to GL transfer program.
    I know that when building the AAD(Application Accounting Definition) we can define the Journal Header descriptions and Journal Lines descriptions. But, I did not see any setup option to have the custom Journal Header name in GL.
    Any suggestions on this issue are highly appreciated.
    Advanced Thanks,
    Lokesh.

    Hi Lokesh,
    The best way to have a custom journal header name is using hook package.
    When data move from XLA to GL, every time it creates a new dynamic table as GL_INTERFACE table but the name is different (XLA_GLT_XXXXX).
    This table information stores in 'gl_interface_control' table but after use the record has deleted from 'gl_interface_control'.
    So we can't see table information after finishing create accounting program.
    What the modification you will made in this table it will affect GL base table. So to made custom journal header name, we need to change Reference4 column of dynamic table.
    Here is the code to get the table name and through procedure you can update the Reference4 column.
    FUNCTION pre_module_hook(run_id IN NUMBER,
                   errbuf IN OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2) RETURN BOOLEAN IS
    chr_errbuf varchar2(50);
    chr_retcode varchar2(50);
    l_interface_Table_name varchar2(2000);
    BEGIN
         SELECT interface_table_name
    into l_interface_Table_name
    FROM gl_interface_control
    WHERE interface_run_id = run_id;
         BEGIN
    xxdb_gl_icaccntgdist_pkg.gl_int_jrnl_update (chr_errbuf,chr_retcode,l_interface_Table_name);
    RETURN(TRUE);
         END;
    END pre_module_hook;
    Make these changes in GL_IMPORT_HOOK_PKG.pre_module_hook function.
    You can make the changes through calling procedure using dynamic query under the function pre_module_hook.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav K

  • How to change column heading in line item report

    Hello Experts,
    How to change the column heading in the line item report CJI4 or CJI3  ?
    for eg: The field WBS will show as Object in the heading. Here  I would like to change to WBS.
    Is there a way to do this without changing ABAP code
    FATMAN

    Not possible through standard I guess.
    Enhancement you should be looking is COOMEP01 which includes the component EXIT_SAPLKAEP_009
    i.e., Line Item Reports: Customer-specific Formatting of the Lists.You use this enhancement to modify column headings.

  • Custom column headers

    How can I get a column header to span 2 columns in my report region? Each data column should have its own heading as well.
    In addition, this column header should be dynamic (well, not that dynamic, just to_char(sysdate,'yyyy'))
    Help? Thanks

    Gents,
    Interestingly, Vikas, you helped me with something similar a ways back:
    Complex Detail Report Layout: Can it be done?
    When I read your request, the custom row template came immediately to mind. This has worked very well for me, and I am very thankful for your assistance.
    It seems to be the solution for which you seek.

    P.S.
    One note; as we discussed in Re: Substitution String in Row Template order dependant the row template population is dependant upon the query sequence. As I have been modifying my application, I've had to play with the query that drives the row template to get new values to appear in the correct place.
