Custom element event handling

Hi all
I could not capture event in my custom element. Can anyone explain in detail, a way to capture events of a element defined in the custom element and redirect it.

Custom Button Event Handler

I'm working on a form that inserts data into my database. The normal Insert PL/SQL just does "doInsert". I want to add in the PL/SQL Button Event Handler a condition statement as follows:
IF :new.name_id != null THEN
doInsert;
ELSE
"do something else"
END IF;
"name_id" is one of the form items. I want to check the value in name_id before I insert it into the database. What is the correct verbage in order for this condition to work -- :new.name_id does not work.

Is there a C# example of using the ExpressionEdit Control Custom Button Event Handler

I have added the event handler to the ExpressionEdit events as I would any event handler:
exprEdit.ButtonClick += new NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax._ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEventHandler(_ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEvent);
Next, I create the Event Handler using the syntax
public void _ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEvent(NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.ExpressionEditButton btn)
I get the following error when I try to build:
Error 1 No overload for '_ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEvent' matches delegate 'NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax._ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEventHandler'
I assume this means that I don't have the correct parameters or types in my Event Handler declaration but it matches the Object Browser. Any ideas on what I am missing?

Try removing the "Ax." from your namespace qualifier as I marked below. I think you want the one in just the UI namespace.
Edit: well not necessarily. Is your exprEdit variable declared as "NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax.AxExpressionEdit" or as "NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.ExpressionEdit"?
If it is an AxExpressionEdit then I think you will want your event handler to look like this:
void exprEdit_ButtonClick(object sender, NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Ax._ExpressionEditEvents_ButtonClickEvent e)

JTable Custom Cell Event handling

Hi,
I have a column in JTable as image which is rendered by using custom cell renderer. I want to handle action event for the cell...
I tried adding actionPerformed event for the button using which the image is rendered but the event is not triggered....

I'm assuming you want to know when the user has clicked on a particular cell in the table. If so, add a MouseListener to the table then implement a MouseListener or one of the Mouse...Adapter classes with the method:

    Point p = e.getPoint();
    int row = table.rowAtPoint(p);
    int col = table.columnAtPoint(p);
    // now do something according to the cell that was clicked

Custom Forms Event Handling in Service Manager

Hi geeks
im trying to get the value of a TextBox in a custom form. This should be done automatically when the form has finished loading. The code works fine but just one time! If I close the form and reopen it, it will not assign the content of the TextBox to the variable
anymore.
In the XAML the UserControl Looks like this:
x:Name="UserForm" Loaded="UserForm_Loaded"
Code behind looks like this:
private void UserForm_Loaded(object sender, routedEventArgs e)

test = txtStatus.Text
Where is the Problem? Has ServiceManager a Problem with this Loaded Event ? Is this called just Once?

the the textbox is bound to the displayname of an ENUM list.
XAML looks like this:

But this all works fine.
It seems that SM does not close the form completely. (does SM cache the forms?)
If I open SM and open customForm "A" then change txtStatus.Text and close customForm "A" it works perfect.
But if I open a second record and change the value of txtStatus.Text save and close the form it changes the value of the record opened before and the actual record..
anyone an idea why this happens?

PreProcess Event Handler setting default password

Greetings.
We developed a custom preprocess event handler and is working fine, but I want to set a default password for a new user using the sentence orchestration.addParameter("Password","defaultpassword") However I got the message :
<Error> <oracle.iam.identity.usermgmt.impl.handlers.create> <IAM-3050009> <Unknown attribute for entity user.
oracle.iam.platform.entitymgr.UnknownAttributeException: User : [Password]
I think that is necesary use a method like setXelleratePassword or something like that.
How to set a default password in a preprocess event handler associated to the create user event?

Window: close event handler

I have a button (action="dialog:ADD_MEMBER" useWindow="true" windowEmbedStyle="inlineDocument" windowModalityType="applicationModal" windowHeight="600" windowWidth="700"), which open a new window in the same TaskFlow. This window can be closed by using the special (my af:commandButton) button and by using common window close button ('X'). I want to write my custom close event handler in the second case. How can I do it?

Hi Mohi,
OK, you could reduce DD_ADD_FORM_INPUT to what you really need - but the DD elements (rarely if ever used in standard SAP) do not have a double-click event. Must stick to ENTER.
An alternative is a text_edit or an editable grid_control with one line one field.
The problem is: There is no way to put any selection-screen element on a control.
I's go for the grid approach as you certainly may have some more fields of interest.

Process Event method does have any signature parameters in it which allow us to disable/enable buttons.
We can handle this in Get data method.Get Data is always triggered after Process Event. So you can write that in Get Data instead.

Can we apply an event handler only for a custom request in oim 11G?

We would like to create a custom request for user creation, modification etc.
I saw that event handlers allow to add business rules by running java code during differents steps of processes.
I would like to know if we can trigger an event handler on a specific request and not on all user CREATION, UPDATE etc.
For example, we would like to have differents creation requests and a differents event handler on each request.
And can we add "logical" input on request form and read them in event handler?
For example, 3 inputs: day, month and year on the form which fill one user attribute "end contract date".

I saw part 19 in the developper's guide. If I understand, I can change the default CreateUserRequestData to define ALL form components that will be used in my differents user creation request templates.
I can use prepopulation adapter to pre populate field with java code.
I can use the plug-in point oracle.iam.request.plugins.StatusChangeEvent to run custom java code.
But they don't mention where you can run java code for a specific creation template named "MyUserCreationTemplate1" and other java code for an other specific creation tempalate" MyUserCreationTemplate2".
That makes me think we must retrieve the template name in java code and execute the appropriate business logic.

Event handling in Network UI element in Webdynpro

I am developing a hierarchial graph using Network UI element.I want to incorporate event handling so that the graph will respond to user actions like on double clicking a node an URL will be opened.I can notproceed with the event handling.
Can anyone tell me the procedure to do this from webdynpro java.

Hi Nayeem,
The Network UI element has lots of events defined for it which can be handled to get the desired functionality.
Go to the View in which you have added the Network Element, select the Element and go to the
properties tab.
Under events , you can see a list of events defined for this UI element.
Select the event you wish to handle and press the Create button which gets visible once
an event say onNodeSelected is selected
You can then give a name to the action say UserClicked and save it .
In the properties tab of the UI element , the action will be registed against the event .
Now select the event again and press the go button.
It will redirect you to the java editor of the view where in you can place your event handling logic.
Alternatively, if you have created the UI element dynamically then you can add the event to the UI element by using the following code
IWDNetwork network = (IWDNetwork)view.createElement(IWDNetwork.class);
network.setOnNodeSelected(/*Your Action handler already defined in the View*/);

Event handler elements inside of the array

I have an array of clusters, of which inside the cluster are buttons. I want to be able to tie an event handler to these buttons ( they would all handle the event the same, the only difference would be the index they were handling)
A while back a similiar problem was posted here:

However, this solution did not appear to be able to deliver the index of which button in the array was pressed .. this is critical for my application. The button is basically an "edit' buttonw which allows the user to edit the elements of the cluster through a popup. Obviously I need to know which cluster the user intends to edit.

Custom event handler

Just curious. I made a custom event handler that is
dispatched from within a class when an XML document is loaded. The
listener is attached to the instance of that class in the FLA. The
attached code to this thread is what is for the class instance.
Does that have to be out there? Is there a cleaner way to do it so
that the code would be away in a class? Just wondering....

Custom Pre Process Event Handler in OIM 11g for middle initials

Even after successfully performing all the steps I am not able to get the middle initials in Admin Console when I create a new user.

My lib file contains the package as mentioned in the metalink.
Heirarchy in Plugin folder :
1) plugin.xml
2) Lib ( lib contains 3 folders : com/example/custompph; And inside custompph is my CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class file)
You mean to say i should not copy the entire package in lib but only the jar file of the CustomPreProceessEventHandler.class* file.
If i put only a .jar file in lib i get the following error.
"Error occured during the use of plugin registering utility. The plugin zip does not contain the definition of plugin class com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
