Custom Enumeration Type and Dropdown in Web Dynpro Java

Hi Everyone!
I have developed a custom enumeration type named com.agile.pmg.politicrh.customtypes.status.
I can see correclty the dropdown with the enumeration in Service Browser with all values I have put, but I need to be able to see these values in web dynpro too. But if I create a attribute of type com.agile.pmg.politicrh.customtypes.status in web dynpro and map it to a dropdown, it doesnt show anything. The enumeration is empty.
Does anyone know what is the problem?

Question about meta-data of Web Dynpro ABAP / Web Dynpro Java

Hello together,
everywhere I can read, that Web Dynpro meta-data is platform independent.
I´ve read into a book, that the meta-data of Web Dynpro Java is saved as XML and
that Web-Dynpro Java Runtime generates runnable classes and sourcecode out of this...
- What about Web-Dynpro ABAP? Is Meta-code in ABAP is saved in XML too?
- just for theory: is ist possible to take the meta-data of a Web-Dynpro ABAP component and
generate a Web-Dynpro Java Component out of this?
I tried to find it out but i failed... In table WDR_RR_LOAD (is this the right one?) I found only the
field data. But this is a RAWSTRING and I don´t know how to make I "readable".
I must know this for my thesis for my studies, not for work.

I am not sure if I understood it right...
The meta-data which describes the visual part of a view is saved as XML and
would be rendered i.e. in the webbrowser... Right?
What about the meta-data of the Web Dynpro application?
Is this meta-code into an other structure or XML too?

Hi Madhu,
Web Dynpro (WD) is a proprietary web application user interface technology developed by SAP AG and exists in a Java (Web Dynpro for Java, WDJ or WD4J) and an ABAP (Web Dynpro ABAP[1] , WDA) flavor. Both have in general the same functionality, but usually one flavor is improved after the other, so temporary one flavor is more advanced than the other. Hence, the decision for one of the two flavors shall be based on organizational and business circumstances, but not on functionality.
WD follows an adapted MVC pattern and a model driven development approach ("minimize coding, maximize design") with a large number of dedicated hooks in generated code to place custom coding. It is intended for business applications that shall follow standardized UI principles, connect to backend systems and be scalable.
Main advantages of Web Dynpro over other technologies
typed access for design time checks, e.g. navigation links and messages are accessed via types instead of string keys like in JSF
diverse services for backend access, like aRFC, JEE and Web Service data models
integration with SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe, which are interactive PDF forms, during design (same IDE) and run time (data sharing)
integration with business process management and business rules management (since NetWeaver CE 7.1 EHP 1)
designed to support development big scale applications by adding multiple grouping layers on top of Java packages (DCs, SCs, products)
runs on different clients e.g. web browser, mobile device, widget engine
comes with a big collection of UI elements providing a wealth of functionality and only have to be configured but not programmed
Main disadvantages
proprietary, running only on SAP servers
less flexible due to support for multiple clients (i.e. custom html is not possible). To reduce the limitations, several measures have been taken. For example, WD supports so-called "islands" for e.g. flash applications that enrich the Web Dynpro UI element collection by rich UI elements. This disadvantage doesn't seem so serious but in fact basic features that user expect to receive cannot be implemented (e.g. coloured rows in table, colours in general, advanced aligning of simple UI elements (due to nonexistence of more complicated ones), selecting multiple rows in tree-like tables (this is due to preserving basic concept of WD) and many more). Having the flash feature means that developer completely avoids WD UI (And thus cannot use other features).

The designtime and runtime environment is part of SAP NetWeaver 7.0[2] (also known as Netweaver 2004s) and following releases.
The name comes after the original Dynpro library, whose name meant "Dynamic Program".

You should be looking into com.sap.security.api.IUserFactory, methods newUser(String) which gives you and IUserMaint and commitUser(IUserMaint, IUserAccount) -- IUserAccount can be obtained using com.sap.security.api.IUserAccountFactory, method newUserAccount(String)

How to create Image as Custom Property Type used in Configurable Web Part?

I wanted to create custom configurable web part property for Image.
Example - the screenshot of Image property used in Image web part is shown below:
My goal is to create as many images as possible in custom configurable web part.
I tried to write the code:

However, the result does not display Image configurable web part property.
I wonder why the data type Image does not cause the custom web part to have Image configurable web part property.
Other data types such as Boolean, Enum, Integer, String and DateTime can be used.
How can I create Image as Custom Property Type used in Configurable Web Part?

I have examined that context node __00 has been enhanced,and has a class name z___00. But when I created a new attirubute by right click " Attributes" with wizard under context node __00.There is still a error message "view is not enhaced or copied with wizard".
But when I created a method "getvaliation " in the class of context node zcl__00, the attribute 'valiation' automatically created(at the same time the method "getvaliation' automatically created for the attribute 'valiation') and I need not to create attibute 'validation' by wizard . It seemed as if the problem is resloved. But when I make test for it in web ui .There is a runtime erro message.
Do I need to make some configurations in the business object layer for the checkbox? but the checkbox is only used as a flag to decide whether a backgoud job is needed to be executed.

Create a Table Dynamically in WEB Dynpro Java with diferent type of column

Hi everyone, I have a question if is possible to create a table dynamically in Web Dynpro Java?, depending of the RFC consults create the rows dynamically, ,this table must have diferent type of columns, for example link column (when the user click this link execute an action and show a adobe interactive form in another view), image column (show an image depending of the information)

Yes , it is possible through dynamic programming in wdModify of the View.
You can do this ,for example, using cell variants.

About Adobe Form and Web dynpro Java development

Hello experts,
We had a requirement to display different Adboe Forms dynmaticlly in Web dynpro Java application.
There is only one Web dynpro Java application, but 10 Adobe Forms . If user "a" access the application ,display form 1 ; if user "b" access the application , display form 2 ; if user "c" access the application , display form 3.... just like this.
There are about 30 fields in BAPI which Web dynpro Java application called . Form 1 mapping to field 1 to field 3, Form 2 mapping to field 4 to field 6, Form 3 mapping to field 7 to field 9 ....
Is it possible ? If it is possible , could you please give me a solution ?

I referred to the website, but still having issues with generating tables in Adobe Form. I can get all the table rows in the adove form, but the pdf doee not add new pages to display all the table rows. It just createa one page with the table inside it, display few of the rows and truncates rest of the table data.
Here is the heirarchy of the page with the properties set
Master Pages ---
        ||--> Page 1
                 ||--> content area
                 ||--> subfrom (properties:: Content - Flowed / Flow direction - top to bottom...pagination tab is greayed out completly)
                            ||--> Table
                                      ||--> HeaderRows (Object: Row - Type: Header Row)
                                      ||--> Row1 (Object Tab/Binding: Repeat Row for each data item - checked)
Can't make it wor, not sure what's wrong here
I am using NDS 7.0 SP18 and Adobe LiveCycle 8.0. Does that could be a problem.

Web Dynpro Java and Adobe Interactive forms Which Tool Should I Use?

Hello Experts,
Can anyone help me with deciding the right technology to use among WDJ and Interactive form by adobe. I want to prepare a presentation to showcase the strong and weak points in order to decide the final technology.

I personally prefer Web Dynpro Java without Interactive forms in most cases.
    Interactive forms are developed on top of Web Dynpro, so you are including an extra tier with the complexity it adds.
    PDF files tend to go big and performance tends to go down. In average, my forms weight between 1 - 5 Mb so network traffic is a bottleneck.
    The scripting environment is very poor.
    On the other hand PDFs interfaces are nicer than WDJ, but I think navigation is worst in part because of the performance issues. Considering this, reporting could be a good use of Interactive Forms.
    The best scenario for using Interactive Forms is for off-line applications, which can't be done with WDJ. For example, if you want your customer to fill an order list, you can send automatically an offline pdf file wich he can fill and submit to your company, initiating a bpm.

Problem in getting Portal Mapped user and password in Web Dynpro iView

I am developing a webdynpro iview.My app need to read mapped user and password form a system in Portal runtime.
I used the following codes in my Web Dynpro java program:

      Did you added com.sap.security.api.jar to your webdynpro project. if not follow this steps.
1. Right-click the project in Eclipse or SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
2. Select Properties.
3. Choose Java build path -> Libraries -> Add Variable -> Select variable WD_RUNTIME -> Extend -> com.sap.security -> lib -> com.sap.security.api.jar.

I have a client requirement where the client wants to copy the table from some already existing application and paste the data directly in web dynpro java table. It is similiar to copy the data from clipboard and paste it directly in web dynpro table.

1 . try to export the table dato to excel sheet.(copy and paste to excel)
2. Importing the excel data to WD table.

How to use Web Dynpro Java isChanged and isChangedByClient

Hello,
I have read thorugh a lot of documentation, threads, ... --> but the picture is not geting clearer fro me.
We have Web Dynpro Java Application (on Netweaver 7.0 SP12) running in Enterprise Portal. We need to tell the portal work protect mode, that we have unsaved changes (how to do this is clear).
I am struggling with figuring out, that my Web Dynpro Context has unsaved changes. I found the two change-indicators isChanged() and isChangedByClient(), which already confuses me a little bit.
Anyway, this is what I have figured out so far:
I am calling wdContext.currentContextElement().isChangedByClient() to figure out changes and when a Save operation has been completed sucessfully, I call wdContext.currentContextElement().node().getContext().resetChangedByClient(). This works for some of the changes made by the user.
I then tried calling wdContext.nodeABC().getElementAt(i).isChanged() for all nodes of my Web Dynpro Context, but this results in detecting changes before the user ha done any interaction.
Implementing an own change tracking (i.e. by adding a changed-Attribute to each context node) does not seem a viable option for me.
So these are my questions:
- Does anyone now a working pattern relying on those chnage indicators ?
- Does anyone now how to reset the isChanged indicator (or when it is resetted by the framework) ?
Any help appreciated.
