Custom function in Servside application

I have a server side application .asc file . I want to add my own function in it and call it from client side action script . How is this possible ?

you can create a class with functions and give the clients Client object a reference to that class, or use Client.prototype.
i.e. this would trace the Client.id.
Client.prototype.functionName = function()
trace(this.id);

I have tried the <jbo:ApplicationModule id=am ...\>
then later in the JSP <% am.customMethod() %>
and this does not work. Any hints?I don't know how it works with JSPs, but if you want to call a custom method on a ApplicationModule, you first have to cast it to your custom class type.
Somethin like this:
MyAppModule am = (MyAppModule) sessionCookie.useApplicationModule( ... )
or maybe in your JSP
<jbo:ApplicationModule id="am">
<% MyAppModuleClass am = (MyAppModuleClass) am; %>
I think you forgot to do something like this in your JSP. Note that the code is not tested.

Could not find Model while pointing to a custom Function Group

Hello ,
I am on EP7.0 ERP05 NW04s and trying to modify ESS Address application to point to a custom function group rather than the standard one . When I tried to do that by changing the mapping for the ReadInfotype I got certain compilation errors ,I fixed those and then got the following error at runtime:

Update the custom table by using Custom Function module.

        My requirement is ,
1) To create the Custom Z table with fields
           vbak-vbeln
           likp-vbeln
           vbuk-vbeln
After creating this Z table.
2) I have to create one custom function module.
    Based on this function module i have to update that Z table.
3) Before these steps i have to write down an ALV report based on the tables vbak and vbeln, in that table i have to print vbak-vbeln. and also in report i generated check box and one custom button in application toolbar. after the report will displayed , when ever i click the button in application tollbar , this function module will executed and the table will be updated.
    But I developed the ALV report with custom button and check box successfully.
My doubt is how to write the function module and based on that function module how to update the table.
      Please suggest me on this requirement.

Custom function call results in 403 Forbidden error

Hi,
I use an custom function to show images from blob columns in a report (as shown in Re: How to Display image, that is stored in database This run fine with Apex 2.2.
After a new installation on an other server - now with Apex 3.1 - everything is ok, but instead of the images only the broken image is displayed.
Clicking on "show image" calls this URL http://-bla bla- /pls/htmldb6/UNTERSCHRIFTEN.uv_blob_download?p_file=1002401114659435
and results in this error:
You don't have permission to access /pls/htmldb6/UNTERSCHRIFTEN.uv_blob_download on this server.
On the same Installation the sample application runs fine, also the images are displayed correctly. Also the "show image" call http://- bla bla -/pls/htmldb6/apex_util.get_blob_file?a=103&s=805871757194874&p=6&d=476144746179567984&i=176988523388974647&p_pk1=1&p_pk2=&p_ck=DE4CD5C7A077B26C18DDBF429D62F8D5
works correct.
I think there is something wrong with some settings.
Any ideas?

Custom Function on OO ALV Grid

I am trying to implement ALV_GRID_XT to enhance the ALV Grid toolbar by adding couple of custom funcitons.As per the SAP documentation I have created 2 methods ON_TOOLBAR - one for adding items on toolbar and the other ON_USER_COMMAND - for processing if the user clicks on the custom function.
I am unable to relate the ALV Grid instance onto the method ON_USER_COMMAND . One of the funciton is to calculate the average of column which represents percentage excluding cells with zero values. Once the user selects column(s) and clicks on the Percent button on the ALV grid my piece of code should trigger ON_USER_COMMAND and then display the average percentage on the Totals row.
Method ON_USER_COMMAND has only one parameter E_UCOMM which i am able to get in the method but I am not able to get the instance of the ALV grid so that I can play around with the data in the Grid.
I could have used a local class and then enhanced the ALV toolbar but this requirement is needed for about 20 reports and hence thought of implementing it globally.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

You need to add the buttons to the toolbar with your ON TOOLBAR method

If you want to use more than one customer subscreen in your notification type, use the screen area '091' (customer subscreen (>1 screen/NTyp)). Assign the screens directly to the tab pages.

Debugging customized function module when Idoc is triggered via ALE

Hi,
Whenever we save the billing document, an outbound idoc is triggered via ALE. The logic for the data to be included in the idoc is written in a customized function module.
However we are making some changes and would like to include some more data in the idoc. But we find that when we put a breakpoint in the function module, on saving the billing document, the flow does not stop at the break point. We are 100% sure that the code in the function module gets executed based on the data in the idoc.
How do we get into debug mode and break the flow in the function module so that we can debug in the function module?

How to trigger inbound custom function module?

Hello Experts,
Could someone help me with my dilemma?
I have created a custom process code which is linked to a custom function module for processing inbound IDocs. I have tested the function module successfully and I have set up the partner profile accordingly. The IDocs are coming in but get stuck at status "64". My function module never gets triggered even though in the partner profile it is set up to be triggered immediately. Any idea what I am missing?

I would put a dataTipFunction variable on the custom component and bind the chart’s dataTipFunction to it.

Access Report Custom Functions from code

I am using VS2005 (VB) and was able to change formula text from within code using the "FormulaFieldDefinitions" object. However, I am having problems finding out how I can do the same to Report Custom Functions. The reason I am doing all this is that I noticed during my Windows app is running the source of my .rpt file is thrown in the user "Local Settings\Temp" folder and all code is revealed by simply opening that file. It looks like it is not possible to access the custom functions within a report using the CR .NET SDK. However, to address the potential security issue that you may be concerned about, is this a Windows or ASP.NET application? If this is an ASP.NET application, then you shouldn't have to worry about the security as the end-user (client) will not be able to access that folder since the rest of the web server is typically unaccessible by the client.
Another way to secure your reports is to use what we call "managed reporting" solutions such as Crystal Report Server or Business Objects Enterprise, which manages reports securely and your users are only allowed to access/see what you allow them to. These solutions also provide public SDKs so you could incorporate the system into your own applications. For more information, go to www.businessobjects.com/products.

How you create your .xml file.
Have you created your .xml file using New->web tier->OA Components->Page.
If in this way you would not get your specified Error. Could not find the main class.Progarm will exit.
I think you are running any java file. either controller, VOImpl.java or any else.
that do not have main function.

Create Custom Function for Key Flexfield Setups

BODI 11.7.3 - Custom Function Problem

Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here? I am hitting walls each time I think I have it right.
I wrote a custom function to select min(record id) from a list of about 15000 records where the record id may match many other fact ids.
I am using BODI V 11.7.3 with parameters and variables declared all over the place. I am able to get only 1 record to return when I know I should get over 2000 to return.
I have all screen shots and details available via word doc for additional assistance. But let me lay out the custom function:
$p_i_last_used = lookup_ext([table, 'no_cache', 'min'], [interaction_id], [null], [call_fact_id,'=',$in_call_fact_id, row_id, '=', $in_row_id, interaction_id, '<>' $p_i_last_used], [interaction_id], [$out_interaction_id]);
return $p_i_last_used || $out_interaction_id;
On the left side I have parameters set up
- anything with "in" is inward
- "out" is outward
- $p_i_last_used is in/out
Then I go back into my Work Flow - declare variables and parameters. Then set up my lookup function call within the query look up to take in the Call_Fact_ID, ROW_ID, and set $p_i_last_used as -1 or 0.
I am able to see only 1 record return. Like it is not going thru all 15K records.

1. Yes, 12.2 finally suports the rfc.ini file, one reason was for the load balancing.
2. Yes, you are right, one datastore is bound to one application server in 11.7. However, this one apllication server could submit the ABAP as a spool job rather than executing it in dialog mode and then you have your load balancing again. Checkout the datastore property "execute in background".

Import Custom Function Group

Hello,
We modified an ESS Webdynpro application by importing a new Z Custom Function Group and changed the bindings to point to it....we didn't checkin the activity after that but the Z Model was added to the DTR when I checked in the DTR perspective with a blue hut icon along with the class files....I just want to know what des it signify...? and why was the Z Model added to the DTR...?
Any help would be highly appreciated...

When you create a model it will ask you to create activity or shows the existing activity and when you select that it automatically adds all the files to DTR and you can check this in the General Output view in the bottom right corner
