Is it possible in BI Publisher to create a custom java function and call this function in RTF template?

I was able to test it using Template Builder for MSWord , but when I try to upload it in BI Publisher Server, I am encountering error.

CRM Survey Suite - Validate fields with custom Java Function

Hi all,
Does anybody now how to validate the survey fields when pressing a custom button and before submitting it to the CRM database?
If I add a custom field, it appears in the html as:
<a onMouseOver='return true;' href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="return htmlbSL(this,2,'SUBMIT:SUBMIT')" class="sapBtnStd" id="CHECK_VALUES">CheckValues</a>
Which makes impossible to handle the event with a client side function defined in java script in the html code.
I've tried to setup the EXAMPLE_DYNAMIC_SURVEY, but I wasn't successful.
Any tips?

Define Inbound Interface for Interface Mapping with Java functions

Hi,
we are developing an R/3-XI-ITK-SBO system. We realized our SOAP component as custom java functions and we installed it on ITK.
We need to import and configure these functionality in XI because we need to reference to it when we define the Message Interface and the Interface Mapping in Integration Builder Design.
Someone is able to tell us how we can import and configure these java function or definition in XI?

Custom javascript functions in mobile webdynpro for java

We are developing an application for hand scanners. But the client uses different kinds of scanners. For this purpose we have to create some custom java script functions. Can anyone share your experiences on this with us which can guide us in the right way..
The common features between all these scanners are as follows
Windown CE .net 4.2
Always Online wireless network.
Mobile Internet explorer 6.0/Ibrowse which comes along with the scanner.

F4 / Help Functionality for input field in custom java iView

Hi,
As we see many F4 help on each input field in a transaction, how can we mimic the same functionality in a Custom Java iView. For example, ME23N, you can search a PO based on some criteria, when i create a new custom java iview using BAPI_PO_DISPLAY, how can provide that F4 or help functionality to the Purchase Order field.

Hi Vijay,
the F4 Help functionality is always of big concern when you're switching from a R/3 or ABAP-SAP GUI environment to a webfront end. First of all: the convinience you're used to of creating a seach help and adding it to your data fields is gone, i.e. the current development status in the portal/java/webdynpro implies that you have to do most of the work on your own. Simple value helps might not be a problem, but complex ones are (as the one you've described). Here is a link to a tutorial in Java-webdynpro, maybe it gives you an idea:

Customized java class for an external Java function activity

Hi,
how can i customize my jdeveloper in order to build my own classes for external Java function activities ?
because any time i try to build my class the compiler tells me that it doesn't know WFFunctionAPI! And i do not have any idea neither which libraries i have to reference nor where i can find them. i tried to reference the *.jar file from my <ORACLE_HOME>.Wf.Java\Oracle\Apps\Fnd\Wf path, but the compiler still was mocking at me!

In the "Project" menu, select "Project Properties";
In the "Libraries" tab, click the "Add" button;
Click "New";
Type "Oracle Workflow" (or any other name) in the Name field;
In the "Class path" field, click the "..." button;
Click "Add path" and select <ORACLE_HOME>/wf/java;
Click "Add ZIP/Jar" and select wfjava.jar and wfapi.jar from the <ORACLE_HOME>/wf/java/oracle/apps/fnd/wf/jar directory.
Click "Ok" in all those windows and compile your class.

Custom Java class called from RTF template generates error

We are running a report in BI Publisher and the report calls a custom developed Java class that is used to bind PDFs together and sent the result to another application.
On the RTF template we have some XSLT that reads the input XML and sets a variable which is then passed to the Java class. We are however getting the following error when the report is called simultaneously 2 or more times:
XML-22044: (Error) Extension function error: Error invoking 'JavaClassName': 'java.lang.Error: Cannot interweave overlay template with pdf input, combined number of pages is odd!
I read this as the real cause of the error is the Java code but I'm not 100% sure. Also I don't understand what the error message means.

Since our this requirement is in Quotes module, its not using OAF. It is using plain JSPs and java classes.
What i was thinking is, create the Option values as flex fields, and write a custom java class to fetch these data from the flex tables and use it in the JSP.
The main problem we are facing now is,
"...we wrote a simple java class, which establishes database connection, executes a simple insert & select query to our custom table. compiled & placed the class file under our new pkg structure under $JAVA_TOP eg. oracle.apps.xxx.quot.tmpl , bounced the apache."
But when we tried to import this class in the jsp (which is being customized), the app just throwed Internal Server Error and we couldnt find any info in the Log file.
Couldnt guess, why is this simple thing failing. Any idea ?

Is it possible to throw a BPELFault from a custom xpath function?

I'm probably revealing my lack of java chops here, but I'd like to know if there's a way to throw a BPELFault from the "call" method within a custom xpath function.
The interface for IXPathFunction seems to dictate that "call" throws only an XPathFunctionException and the bpel server doesn't handle this exception properly. It records the exception in the logs but then the process just dies.
Right now I have this (simplified code):

Yeah, I'm using that patch (otherwise the process just crashes and you don't have a chance to catch the fault, even in a catchAll). Within the catchAll you can get the details from the error with something like this:

Error while creating Custom Defined Functions in Essbase

Hi All, I am trying to create CDF(Custom Defined Functions) in Essbase. Iwant to create a function which take list of child member andreturn the first child. For this, i have created a java file called"ChildAccess.java" which contains the following code: public class ChildAccess { public static char GetFirstMember(char [] members) { return members[0]; } } I have compiled and made jar file called"ChildAccess.jar" and pasted it at"ARBORPATH/java/udf". Then i restarted the Essbase Serverand run the following MaxL command to register the function create or replace function '@ChildAccess' as 'ChildAccess.GetFirstMember' spec '@ChildAccess(memberRange)' comment 'adds list of input members'. Till here i am not getting any error but when i am using thisfunction in my calc script as given below FIX(@ChildAccess(@CHILDREN("Abc"))) it gives the following error "Error:1200414 Error parsing formula for [FIX STATEMENT] (line 2)"argument[1] may not have size[6] in function[@CHILDREN]" NOTE: The SIZE[6] is giving the no. of child in member"ABC". If you want to use the CDF in a FIX statement you need to make sure that it returns a member name rather than a number: public class ChildAccess { public static String GetFirstMember(String[] members) { return members[0]; } } I prefer to define the function against a specific application rather than globally because you only need to restart the application in order to pick-up any modifications to the .jar file. So the MaxL function definition would be: create or replace function appname.'@_GETFIRSTMEMBER' as 'ChildAccess.GetFirstMember(String[])'; and in the calculation script the FIX statement would become: fix ( @member( @_GetFirstMember( @name( @children( "Abc" ) ) ) ) ) This looks a little messy so you can use a macro to simplify it: create or replace macro appname.'@GETFIRSTMEMBER'(single) as '@member( @_GETFIRSTMEMBER( @name( @@1 ) ) )' SPEC "@GETFIRSTMEMBER(memberRange)"; and then the FIX statement could be written: fix( @getfirstmember( @children( "PRODUCT" ) ) )

Can anyone tell me why it would skip resolving a class? Especially after I use the -r flag to have loadjava resolve it upon loading.

Custom XSLT Functions Throw Exception

Hi,
I have following requirement-
1. I have defined and configured some custom XSLT functions in Jdev and BPEL, which throw exception in case of an error.
2. Now I want to catch that exception in my BPEL process
3. In My BPEL process I have defined transformation step ( which is using those Custom XSLT functions) in a scope and added a catch branch to that
4. But even XSLT java function throw an exception , it is not being catch by catch branch.
Could you please help me regarding this and tell me any other way to catch an exception in BPEL process thrown by Custom XSLT function within transformation step?

Its the problem with the date. In the configuration file i used dateTime for java.util.Date, because of this i cant see "User Defined" option in Jdeveloper component pallete. I checked at XML data types i had seen dateTime for java.util.Date Class, but its not working.
Do anyone created a custom xslt function which has date as parameter or return type?, If so wht they had used as data type for xml and java.

Classpath dependency validator message.
Classpath entry will not be exported or published. Runtime ClassNotFoundExceptions may result.
I imported the Jars from a different PI system and i am using NWDS in local PC with creating a separate folder with all JARs and also imported them using build path option.
This issue is occuring for all the jars imported.

How to import custom java jar/class into oracle to be used in java proc ?

I would like to know how to import custom java jar/class files into oracle to be used in java stored procedure.
I am developing a oracle pl/sql procedure to call java program. The java program will be created as procedure and will be published.
But, my question is that I do have a other external jar/class file that need to be imported into this java program.
example
raise_sal.java

how do I import the cmpmsgsvc jar/class file into oracle so that I don't have any
compilation errros on raise_sal.java program ??

Problem is that, I have 6 jar files that are needed to be included in the main java program. And, there are more than 50+ classes, propertiers in those 6 jar files.
It might be not good idea to have all those 50+ classes in the production database.
Is there anyway that I keep all those 6 jar files in unix box (our's is oracle erp installation with oracle being installed on unix box) and just refer them in the main java program. I mean database will be loaded with main java program and it should able to refer other 6 jar files from unix.
if we create a directory and keep all jar files in there and include that directory in classpath variable, does this works? or what is other method?
