    thanks for any help

    Thanks for your help.
    however i looking for one thing, similar a function wrapper that can substitute original method.
    I don't know where the application use date function and how calls it. so i think that it is possible to change behavior of java itself.

    Do below things.
    1. Re-import your Model.
    2. Restart your J2ee server
    3. Re-load & Rebuild your project.
    It should work now..

  • Time Stamp via Custom Function

    This is such a basic concept for a custom function that I am assuming someone out there has done it already. I have never created a custom function for Essbase, though I have programmed in a variety of languages and I'm assuming getting the current date/time in Java is not exactly rocket science. I have reviewed the docs for creating and registering custom functions and that also appears relatively simple, especially with the examples available.<BR><BR>What I want is a function that returns a Double in the form of a Date/Time that I can retrieve into Excel and display as a Date/Time. We want a simpler, more effective way of time stamping the running of calculations, more effective than combing through the app logs when we need to know if/when a calc ran a week or a month or two ago.<BR><BR>Does anyone have some sample code and/or insights to share on this topic? I would greatly appreciate it if you do.<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR><BR>James

    fyi - I ended up implementing a solution in Perl/Maxl that gives a timestamp to the second in a format that can be retrieved intelligently into Excel. I use the Perl time() function (Unix server) to get the GMT epoch time as a long int. Then I convert it into the floating point DATE format for Windows, with the hard-coded assumption of what time zone my server is in. Then I run a calc from MaxL that sets this value. I build the calc string in Perl and pass it into MaxL. Pretty cool. The calc uses two sub vars, one for the members to fix on and the other for the Scenario to timestamp. This way the perl/maxl is database independent.<BR><BR>Just thought someone might want to know...

  • Trouble migrating Crystal Reports Custom Functions from BOXI R2 to BOXI 3.1

    I can't seem to migrate the custom functions from the custom function repository in my R2 environment to the 3.1 with FP 1.3 environment.
    When I migrate Crystal Reports using the Import Wizard, they all come over and they retain their custom functions, however, they don't bring over or create a new custom function repository.
    When I do run the import wizard I have selected the repository radio button, but it does not have any affect .
    How can I migrate all of these custom functions without having to manually open up reports and placing them back into the repository on the new server?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi,
    so if they are published to Rel.2 this looks different.
    Just to clarify it a bit more...these Files are no Datasources for Reports and Universes and your Users dont consume them via InfoView?!
    Whats the purpose for these Files? If they have none, you can de- select them in the UMT and dont migrate them (or better said move them cause you wont actually migrate .csv files). But if nobody touches them, you can move them with the UMT during daily business...how long it will take i cant estimate it. But 65GB for .CSV files is a huge amount.
    But you are correct, to move them from Rel.2 to BI4 you have to use the UMT.
    If you have the ressources and time i would recommend the following (Thats what i usually do with my customers):
    1. Setup a Machine (could be a VM) with the same OS and BOE Version (included SPs and FPs) as your production Rel.2
    2. Schedule a half day or day Downtime to copy the content 1:1 from the production Rel.2 to the VM Rel.2 with the IW or CMS DB Copy. Or do this after Business Hours.
    - With this Size of your FileStore i would recommend the CMS DB copy way.
    - Now you have a 1:1 Testing Environment of your Production Environment
    3. Use the UMT to migrate from your VM Rel.2 to your BI4 installation
    - Here you can see how long it takes
    - You can check if the UMT is capable for this 65GB transfer
    - Can sort out other possible issues
    - Do some other Testing
    After you did that you have a perfect estimation on how long the Migration will take and what for issues you are facing. With this information you can decide if you need a downtime or can do it after Business Hours f.e.

  • Essbase API Custom Function 11.1.2.1

    I recently decided to start playing around with the Essbase Java API to see if I could write a custom function that overwrites a subvar. I found the createSubstitutionVariable command is already in the API. I wrote a MaxL script that registers a new function by calling the API command.
    /* Create a log file for the script log and error information */
    spool on to $4;
    /* Login to the server */
    login $1 $2 on $3;
    CREATE or Replace FUNCTION '@SETGLOBALSUBVAR'
    AS 'com.essbase.api.datasource.IEssBaseObject.createSubstitutionVariable(String,String)'
    SPEC '@SETGLOBALSUBVAR(String SubVar, String SubVarValue)'
    COMMENT 'Sets the specificed subvar to the specified value';
    This creates the function (viewable in EAS). However, when I run a calc script that calls the function, I get an error that it belongs in a calc block. When I place it in a calc block, I get an error message that an operator is expected after my custom function.
    ex:
    Fix ("Actual", "Final")
    AC_12345=@SETGLOBALSUBVAR('test', 'hi');
    EndFix
    I also found Robb Salzmann's CDF http://codingwithhyperion.blogspot.com/2011/08/create-and-update-substitution.html and tried using that, but received the same error message. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to creating and using custom functions to update the subvar.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Sorry about that.
    I have the MaxL log below that shows the function being created successfully. There is nothing in the essbase log file itself regarding the creation of the function.
    OK/INFO - 1051034 - Logging in user [admin@Native Directory].
    OK/INFO - 1241001 - Logged in to Essbase.
    MAXL> CREATE or Replace FUNCTION '@SETSUBVAR'
    2> AS 'com.hyperion.essbase.cdf.setSubVar(String,String,String,String)'
    3> SPEC '@SETSUBVAR(String app, String db, String subvar, String subVarValue)'
    4> COMMENT 'Sets the specificed subvar to the specified value';
    OK/INFO - 1056102 - Function @SETSUBVAR replaced.
    MAXL> logout;
    User admin is logged out
    The calc that I am running is:
    Fix ("ACTUAL","FORECAST")
    PJ_99999= @SETSUBVAR ('','', 'TestLocalVariable', 'TEST');
    ENDFIX
    The error message that displays in the log file is :Error: 1200324 Error compiling formula for [PJ_99999] (line 3): operator expected after [@SETSUBVAR]
    The code that I am trying to register is from your site http://codingwithhyperion.blogspot.com/2011/08/create-and-update-substitution.html Instead of activating SetMonthSubvar or SetYearSubvar, I am only trying to register the SetSubVar command in your jar file
    Thanks for your help! I appreciate all your responses.

  • Oracle Business Rules Custom Functions

    Hi,
    I have an input fact with attributes A,B,C & D and an output fact with E, C & D. (C & D attributes are common in both facts)
    Whenever the rule matches, we are asserting new output fact by assigning a constant value to attribute 'E' and also the transactional values to C & D using input fact's C & D attributes.
    This way, we are making sure to return the response with matched transactional values.
    But we would like to do this by writing a custom function so that user need not assign this mapping manually whenever any new rule creates. User just assigns the constant value to attribute E but values to C & D attributes should be assigned automatically.
    Please let me know your suggestions on this.
    Regards,
    KK

    Hi Subha,
    Please find the answers inline :
    1. In Oracle Business Rules, can one rule invoke another rule?
    -- > Yes, once a rule gets executed, it might create more facts, that in turn fire another rule. It all runs around the inout/output facts.
    2. Can we make two rule sets dependent on each other?
    -- > Yes
    3. Can we return data of types String, Boolean, Integer, Double from a rule execution?
    -- > Yes, you can use java code with functions.
    4. Can we build complex logical AND, OR assertions in Oracle rules?
    -- > Java programming language is needed for this..
    5. Can we use custom business objects (not Java data types) within a rule?
    -- > Dont think so

  • Using the JAVA ImportXmlTemplate function, should I always use XSL directory?

    Using the JAVA ImportXmlTemplate function requires XSL directory, I do not need XSL for my updates, how can I workaround this requirement?

    Ok, thanks for your quick answer. I saw you last blog posting regarding simple bar codes, I hope your next one turns up soon (read: today ;-) ).
    I did take a swing at writing my own class according to the user guide, using JDeveloper. One of my problems is that I am not that familiar with the whole java world, my experience lies almost entirely within .NET development. So when I read stuff like "make sure the class is available in the classpath for the JVM" and things like that, it is not a detailed enough description for me in order to make anything out of it. Do you think you can clarify that for me?
    I also wonder if you have any tips and tricks on how to trace/log information from the class when it executes? Because I think that I can actually get it to be called, it's just that something goes wrong and the generated PDF becomes badly formatted and has no content. I can see that some calls are made to a Logger class inside the example class. I guess that I need to set up some runtime configuration for that information to turn up in a file, but again me lacking experience from the java world prevents me from accomplishing that :-)
    Regarding tracing and logging from the java classes for the BI Publisher, can I get them to trace or log debug information in some clever way?
    The app I am developing is a .NET app that calls these classes using a product called juggerNET. I am developing a print direct application for JDEdwards EnterpriseOne since BI Publisher is not entirely integrated into it yet.
    I would greatly appreciate a quick reply this time as well if you can find the time!
    Best regards, Jörgen

  • Javascript/vbscript functionality (java script functions are not running) issue in Internet Explorer 10 and 11

    We have developed web portal using classic ASP and java/vb script.  We used to run it absolutely fine using Internet Explorer 8.  Now we just migrated to Internet Explorer 11.  But after that no java script functionality is working in our
    web portal.
    Our web server is configured on windows 2003 server and IIS version 6.0 and has .net Framework (Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727).
    Could you please suggest us that is there any workaround to this?

    Hi,
    Have you tested this web portal in compatibility mode, Tools\Compatibility view settings? or click F12 to use the developer tool, change the the document mode and user agent string to 8, check the result.
    And under Tools\Internet Options\Security\Custom level, scroll down to "Scripting", enable "Active Scripting".
    Since you're developer of the web portal, it's recommended to post issue in IE development forum

  • Custom Function giving compile error

    Hi All,
    I have created a custom function to get the current time stamp. Below is the java code:
    package com.oracle.determinations.examples;
    import com.oracle.determinations.engine.CustomFunction;
    import com.oracle.determinations.engine.EntityInstance;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.text.*;
    public class CurrentTimeStamp extends CustomFunction {
       public Object evaluate(EntityInstance entityInstance, Object[] objects) {
          Date dNow = new Date( );
          SimpleDateFormat ft =
          new SimpleDateFormat ("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
        /*System.out.println(ft.format(dNow));*/
          return ft.format(dNow);
    My Extension.xml is as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <extension>
      <functions>
        <function name="CurrentTimeStamp" return-type="text">
      <arg name="entered-name" type="text"/>
           <handler platform="java" class="com.oracle.determinations.examples.CurrentTimeStamp"/>
          </function>
      </functions>
    </extension>
    The extension.xml is placed under following path:
    Development/Extension/CurrentTimeStamp/extension.xml
    The JAR file is palced under following path:
    Development/Extension/CurrentTimeStamp/lib/CurrentTimeStamp.jar (the jar file includes the com.oracle.determination.example folder structure)
    When i am using CurrentTimeStamp() in the rule base, it is throwing compile error saying:
    Error after text CurrentTimeStamp(' Fount Text: ')'. Exptected value variable or constant OPA - E00111
    Can you please help me where i am getting wrong and why it is not identifying the function?
    Thanks,

  • Batch Processor and Custom Functions

    Hi,
    We're using the 10.4.2 Batch Processor, connected to an Oracle 11g database to handle large amounts of data.
    Recently, four custom functions have been added to the rulebase. Nothing complicated, just some string manipulation stuff (trim whitespace etc.). Each function is just a few lines of fairly simple code. No database calls, no web service calls or anything like that. It stays within the Java jar file.
    Suddenly the processing time of the BP has gone up from a couple of minutes to well over an hour. The only change to the rulebase has been the addition of the functions, nothing else.
    It almost looks like the BP is initialising the custom functions with every case that's processed. If this is the case then this would be massively inefficient and as a result we would not be able to implement our new functions.
    Has anybody else come across this before?
    Regards,
    Evert

    EvertEvert,
    You are correct, it does initialise the custom function for every case that is processed. This is necessary as every case is a determinations engine session.
    However, you have control over how long the initialization process. If you make the time consuming parts of your custom function static, and then make the initialization fast, then you will get a much faster custom function call. The custom function code is entirely within your control and you can make it as fast as you like.
    Cheers

    Hello, it looks as if your custom-function configuration isn't quite right.
    For example, if you're running against 10.1 Java OWD this might be your configuration file where the "class" attribute points to your Handler not just the package:
    <configuration>
    <custom-function platform="Java"
    library-path="ExampleCustomFunction.jar"
    class="com.example.MyCustomFunctionHandlerClass"/>
    </configuration>
    What version are you using? ex. 10.1 / 10.2 / .net / Java?
