Custom Object 1-3 New Only

Is there a way to use Custom Objects 1 thru 3 as a subordinate object to Account, but limit the user to only the New option? I need to prevent the user from using an existing occurrence of the custom object. In other words, I want limit the relationship to behave like custom object 4 and above.

Jeff

Hi Jeff
Did you find any solution.
I am also facing this situation.

  • Data import/update on Custom Objects

    Hi,
    We are using the Custom Object1 for capturing site data within an opportunity. Since the custom object does not have capability to check for duplicates, the users have now entered data into this object which have lot of duplicates and also the data quality and integrity is lost. I am trying to see if there is an option to export this data and reimport them back after cleansing the data.
    I then realised while importing custom objects, the only available option is to use external id.All the site that have been entered by the users do not have any external unique id. Also there is no option to do a mass delete records within the custom object1.
    I understand that the only option to cleanse and reimport them back into ondemand is using web services. I want to use web services as last option.
    Is there any other option to reimport them back into ondemand using the import utility after cleansing the data.
    I would like to know what is the best practice while using custom objects. Is it advisable to populate a default value in the external unique id for custom objects while creating new records. If i had populated some value in the external unique ids while creating those records, i would have had the option to update the existing records. Now i don't even that option.
    I am looking for some suggestions for this issue.
    Thanks
    Swami

    Bobb,
    I exported the data and mapped the row id to the external unique id. Like i said before, the external id is blank in crm ondemand when it is created. We did not have any default value specified for the external unique id.
    When i tried to import with overwrite option, it does not find a match.
    I get the following error message as i expected.
    Row Id: AEMA-EYGFE     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
    Row Id: AEMA-F8CPC     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
    Row Id: AEMA-12CLIA     No matching record has been found. The import process will ignore this record.
    Unless i do a web service update of External Unique ID in crm ondemand, the import option will not work.
    Thanks

  • How can i add custom attributes to a new Class Object using the API ?

    Hello everyone,
    Here is my problem. I just created a subclass of Document using the API (not XML), by creating a ClassObjectDefinition and a ClassObject. Here is the code :
    // doc is an instance of Document
    ClassObject co = doc.getClassObject();
    ClassObjectDefinition cod = new ClassObjectDefinition(ifsSession);
    cod.setSuperclass(co);
    cod.setSuperclassName(co.getName());
    cod.setName("MYDocument");
    ClassObject c = (ClassObject)ifsSession.createSchemaObject(cod);
    Everything seems to be OK since i can see the new class when i use ifsmgr. But my question is : how can i add custom attributes to this new class ? Here is what i tried :
    AttributeDefinition value = new AttributeDefinition(ifsSession);
    value.setAttribute("FOO", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue("bar"));
    c.addAttribute(value);
    But i got the following error message :
    oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-30002: Unable to create new LibraryObject
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01400: impossible d'insirer NULL dans ("IFSSYS"."ODM_ATTRIBUTE"."DATATYPE")
    oracle.ifs.server.S_LibraryObjectData oracle.ifs.beans.LibrarySession.DMNewSchemaObject(oracle.ifs.server.S_LibraryObjectDefinition)
    oracle.ifs.beans.SchemaObject oracle.ifs.beans.LibrarySession.NewSchemaObject(oracle.ifs.beans.SchemaObjectDefinition)
    oracle.ifs.beans.SchemaObject oracle.ifs.beans.LibrarySession.createSchemaObject(oracle.ifs.beans.SchemaObjectDefinition)
    void fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument.IFSDocument.createDocument(java.lang.String)
    void fr.sword.ifs.GestionDocument.IFSDocument.main(java.lang.String[])
    So, what am i doing wrong ?
    More generally, are we restricted in the types of the attributes ? (for example, would it be possible to add an attribute that would be an inputStream ? Or an object that i have already created ?).
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Guillaume,
    you're welcome. Don't know exactly, but assume that ATTRIBUTEDATATYPE_UNKNOWN
    is used to check for erronous cases only
    and it shouldn't be used otherwise.
    Creating your own objects could be simply done via
    ClassObject ifsClassObject;
    DocumentDefinition ifsDocDef = new DocumentDefinition(ifsSession);
    // get class object for my very own document
    ifsClassObject = ClassObject.getClassObjectFromLabel(ifsSession, "MYDOCUMENT");
    // set the class for the document i'd like to create
    ifsDocDef.setClassObject(ifsClassObject);
    // set attributes and content for the document...
    ifsDocDef.setAttribute("MYFOO_ATTRIBUTE",....);
    ifsDocDef.setContent("This is the content of my document");
    // create the document...
    PublicObject doc = ifsSession.createPublicObject(ifsDocDef);

  • New custom object type - SWO1

    Hi All,
    I need to create a custom object type using SWO1.
    The object type needs to be linked to a report program with selection screen(or its tcode).
    The selection screen carries just 1field. The output is a new screen.
    Would appreciate if any1 can tell me the step-by-step process to accomplish my objective.
    -Ram.

    Enter a name.
    Hit create. Populate the manadatory pop ups don't populate super type.
    Blow out the key field. Create a key field.
    Blow out the methods - add a method. Add the code for the method - select the method and hit the program button add code as below:
    BEGIN_METHOD RUNDUPREPORT CHANGING CONTAINER.
       SET PARAMETER ID 'VPA' FIELD OBJECT-KEY-PARTNEREMPLOYEEID.
    export object-key-partneremployeeid to memory id '99'.
       CALL TRANSACTION 'ZEML' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
    *object-key-partneremployeeid.
    END_METHOD.
    Create your event.
    My method calls an abap I wrote that is bound to a transaction.
    You will need to set the release status for all of the elements of your object and the object itself.
    The question I have is why. Are you calling the object in a workflow? If so you will need to use the fm as below:
    DATA: OBJTYPE LIKE SWETYPECOU-OBJTYPE VALUE 'ZRM_WWCONT',
        EVENT LIKE SWETYPECOU-EVENT VALUE 'DuplicateEmail',
         OBJKEY LIKE SWEINSTCOU-OBJKEY,
            EVENTID LIKE SWEDUMEVID-EVTID.
        DATA: BEGIN OF EVENT_CONTAINER OCCURS 0.
                INCLUDE STRUCTURE SWCONT.
        DATA: END OF EVENT_CONTAINER.
        OBJKEY = KNVK-PARNR.
        CALL FUNCTION 'SWE_EVENT_CREATE'
             EXPORTING
                  OBJTYPE              = OBJTYPE
                  OBJKEY               = OBJKEY
                  EVENT                = EVENT
            START_WITH_DELAY     = ' '
            START_RECFB_SYNCHRON = ' '
            IMPORTING
                 EVENT_ID             = EVENTID
             TABLES
                  EVENT_CONTAINER      = EVENT_CONTAINER
             EXCEPTIONS
                  OBJTYPE_NOT_FOUND    = 1
                  OTHERS               = 2.
        COMMIT WORK.

  • Set Default Value based on Field from another table for a custom object

    I'm trying to set the default value on a custom object field to the value of an account field. I have tried the syntax 50 different ways, and just am getting no where. The account field label displays as DBA, the integration tag is ltDBA_ACCT, and it shows up in reporting fx area as Account.Text_22.
    The custom object field I'm triying to update is also called DBA, which was originally the "NAME" required field. Does the table name, Account, have to be included? Do I need a function in front of the field?
    I have been updating the external ID using the row ID with syntex <ID> (Less than ID greater than) so I know it is possible to set the Default Value, but <DBA>, <ltDBA_ACCT>, "Account"."DBA", and so on just don't not work.
    If anyone knows how to enter this I'd really appreciate the help.

    Ok, so if you want to default a field to the value from another object, you have to use the JoinFieldValue function. I think you understand that, based on your original post, but I want to be sure that you do.
    Next, this will only work as a default if the record is created from the object that you wish to join on because a default works at record creation and the ID needs to be available for it to work properly. It will not work if you choose the related object record after the custom object record is created. You could set the value as a post-default, but that does not seem to meet your requirements.
    The syntax for the Default Value would be as follows: JoinFieldValue(ref_record_type, foreign_key, field_name).
    In your case, ref_record_type is '<Account>', foreign_key is &#91;<AccountId>&#93;, and field_name is '<YourFieldName>'. The best way to determine what the field name is would be to create a new workflow for Account and use the Workflow Rule Condition expression builder to pick your field ("DBA") from the list. The value that is returned by the expression builder should be placed in the field_name variable in the JoinFieldValue function (minus the brackets and in single quotes).
    Give this a shot and let me know how you do.

  • How can i add an custom attribute and assign it to an existing custom object class in sun ds

    I need to add an attribute to sun ds schema and assign it to an existing custom object class.
    I know how to add an attribute but how can i add the attribute to an existing custom object class.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    The objectclasses attribute is multi-valued, so you can add several values to it as long as they are unique.
    For instance, I think you can add several declaration of the same objectclass as below (note the difference is the number of spaces in the value) howewer, from a schema perspective, only 1 will be taken into account:
    objectclasses: ( 2.5.6.6 NAME 'person' DESC 'Standard LDAP objectclass' SUP top MUST ( sn $ cn ) MAY ( description $ seeAlso $ telephoneNumber $ userPassword $ CustomAttr) X-ORIGIN 'RFC 2256' )
    objectclasses: ( 2.5.6.6 NAME   'person' DESC 'Standard LDAP objectclass' SUP top MUST ( sn $ cn ) MAY ( description $ seeAlso $ telephoneNumber $ userPassword $ CustomAttr) X-ORIGIN 'RFC 2256    ' )
    That's the reason why it is safe to delete previous value if you want to update an existing objectclass. No problem to add a new objectclass (new oid and new name) to the schema.

  • Data Loader On Demand Inserting Causes Duplicates on Custom Objects

    Hi all,
    I am having a problem that i need to import around 250,00 records on a regular basis so have built a solution using Dataloader with two processes, one to insert and one to update. I was expecting that imports that had an existing EUI would fail therefore only new records would get inserted (as it says in the PDF) but it keeps creating duplicates even when all the data is exactly the same.
    does anyone have any ideas?
    Cheers
    Mark

    Yes, you have encountered an interesting problem. There is a field on every object labelled "External Unique Id" (but it is inconsistent as to whether there is a unique index there or not). Some of the objects have keys that are unique and some that seemingly have none. The best way to test this is to use the command line bulk loader (because the GUI import wizard can do both INSERT/UPDATE in one execution, you don't always see the problem).
    I can run the same data over and over thru the command line loader with the option to INSERT and you don't get unique key constraints. For example, ASSET and CONTACT, and CUSTOM OBJECTS. Once you have verified whether the bulk loader is creating duplicates or not, that might drive you to the decision of using a webservice.
    The FINANCIAL TRANSACTION object I believe has a unique index on the "External Unique Id" field and the FINANCIAL ACCOUNT object has a unique key on the "Name" field I believe.
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Is it possible to have an adress field with a Custom Object?

    Hello,
    I would like to link a service request to an account and an intermediary such as a travel agency. But the original datamodel only allow one account per Service Request.
    So, I have created a custom object (Intermediary) that should have similar relations with other objects than the Account one. With this object, I will be allowed to link my two accounts to the SR. But I would like to insert an address field in my custom object. Unfortunately, this kinf of custom field type is not available...
    Is there any solution to have one? Or is there another solution I could use to link 2 accounts to a Service Request?
    Thanks in advance,
    Laurent

    We had the same problem. Decided to use one of the new custom objects (CO-05) for this purpose. The drawback of using it this way is the lack of automatic formating of the address lines by country selected like you get with accounts and contacts. On the good side, you can designate fields for use in interfacing with your external business system, i.e. Oracle eBS, JDE, etc.
    We also added a link to this to bring up a modified Customers On Line form from Oracle eBS that gives us a view of the Quotes, Orders, Service Requests, Installed Base, Invoices and Credit Memos by customer party id number contained in eBS. This is what we call a 360 degree view of the customer.

  • Importing to Custom Object 1 to blank-out information

    Hi Everyone,
    We recently started using Custom Object 1 and during our initial import there was a field has the wrong information that needs to be overwritten.
    The new field will does not have have information on evey row in the import CSV file, and when we import it, only the rows have information are overwirtten and the blank rows are left with the old info.
    <strong>Original import:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>
    1 aaa
    2 aaa
    3 aaa
    <strong>Second import:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>

    2 bbb
    3 bbb
    <strong>RESULTS:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>

    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Have you been able to fix it?
    Thanks, Margo

    Margo,
    Have you tried putting a space or a . into your excel spreadsheet and importing that? also a mass update may clear the information?

  • Upgrade for Custom objects

    We are planning to upgrade our system to BI 7.0 next week. We will do technical upgrade only.
    Appreciate if you can clarify few doubts
    1. We have lots of custom Infocubes, ODS and update rules that are created as copy of standard objects. What impact should we expect for these objects.
    I guess minimal but if SAP has made changes to their standard data flows
    ( like certain calculations in update rules or new infoobjects in ODS etc )
    would they be needed in my custom versions and if yes how would I know what is changed?
    2. When we do the functional upgrade will it be easier or harder for these custom objects as compared to the standard ones. ( Wondering if we should have stayed with the standard ones )
    Thanks

    Good news, SAP doesnt have any content with the new data flow. I see no reason why SAP woudl change thier std objects, if thats the case SAP will come with a new object and ask the customers to slowly move to the new one as the old one would be obsolete soon. Your existing dataflow wouldnt be disturbed, even though you have ur custom objects (who doesnt have custom objects)
    2. When we do the functional upgrade will it be easier or harder for these custom objects as compared to the standard ones. ( Wondering if we should have stayed with the standard ones )
    either way you have to manually migrate the dataflow, so it shouldnt matter if its std or custom

  • Is there any way to report on Custom Object 3 other than lists?

    Looks like the answer is no but just wondering if anyone has come up with a brilliant work around. I guess the only chance is with Web Services, or is Custom Object 3 the red headed step child there as well?
    I read in an earlier thread that R15 fix/patch may enable the ablity to report in analytics OD on the Custom Objects, any idea if Custom Object 3 will be included?
    I wish the documentation pointed this out somewhere! It would have been nice to know before I created the Objects funtionality!
    Live and learn...
    Dan D

    It is my understanding that the patch will be applied automatically for all customers. The patch will enable reporting on custom Objects 1, 2 & 3 and will have subject areas for Custom Object, Custom Object & Account, Custom Object & Opportunity, Custom Object & Contact, and Custom Object & Service Request.
    (That is 5 subject areas per custom object for a total of 15 new subject areas!)

  • REST API - Custom objects DateTime fields

    Hi
    I can't figure out how to create a new custom object record with field of date type. When i'm creating a contact i'm passing string in format like this: "2014-09-29T23:57:08Z". But same format doesn't work with custom objects. It just returns "Invalid JSON string". What am i doing wrong?

    I create successful a custom record within Eloqua using REST API, now I came across a new issue with the time field values !?
    I create the time stamp  from within Salesforce with Long myTime = DateTime.getTime()/1000
    which creates for  "30.11.2014 1:12 PM" the time stamp  "1417353120"
    If I put this value into http://www.unixtimestamp.com/index.php i receive back
    which is the correct time and date so I assume that is the correct Unix time stamp
    well if i pass this value to Eloqua this gets messed up and it show a difference of 5 hours in the view as shown below
    If that would be only a "view" issue I wouldn't be bothered , but if I make a GET call I get back the same wrong Time at that date as I am not getting back a unix time stamp but the
    wrongly converted date.
    Does anyone got a work around for that?
    here is the GET response snip
    {"type":"FieldValue","id":"218","value":"holidays"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"219","value":"PPV-0878541"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"192","value":"12\/3\/2014 8:12:00 AM"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"207","value":"12\/30\/2014 11:12:00 AM"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"216","value":"12\/4\/2014 8:50:00 AM"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"217","value":"12\/18\/2014 8:50:00 AM"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"213","value":"N"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"208"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"212","value":"myself"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"211","value":"11\/30\/2014 8:12:00 AM"},{"type":"FieldValue","id":"209","value":"now
    and below the screenshot of the dates which are messed up but important for us (funny thing is the created and last modified date in small is correct)
    If this 5 hours difference are consistence i would just add 18.000 seconds towards the getTime() / 1000 but this shouldn't be the case should it? I mean the created date time is correct the convertion online is correct so should the unix time stamp value

  • Unable to set up the default value in custom object 10,related item section

    Hi,
    Please help me out for the below issue
    Custom Object 10 we renamed to Quarterly Broker Review .In Quarterly Broker Review there is a related item section 'Activity'.
    In Quarterly Broker Review ,Activity related Section ,After clicking on The 'New Task' button 'Account Name' field in Quarterly Broker Review(Parent ) should be prefilled in the Activity Section(Related Item Section) in Account Name Field
    'Account Name' field is a Picklist Read Only field.
    Since it is a picklist read only field i couldn't write the expression in the 'Activity' Related section under 'Account Name' field
    you can also help me by reaching at '[email protected]'
    Thanks,
    Srinivas Merugu

    Hi Srinivas,
    As you know, you can refer to a field in a different object by using JoinFieldValue function. But this function is not available for all the object references. If you refer online help for JoinFieldValue function you would notice that from activity only CustomObjects 1,2 an 3 can be referenced using this function.
    If this is possible for the activity and CustomObject 10 then you go to the field named Account Id in Activity object and set a default value. I guess in the parent object "CustomObject10" Account Id will also be stored in "Account: Integration ID". So this field value can be copied into the Account Id field of Activity.
    Instead you could write a web service program to achieve this.
    Thanks

  • AS3 Data Bindings on Custom Objects

    Hey Guys,
    I'm having an issue using BindingUtils.bindProperty to bind a
    label to a string that is located in a custom object, however it
    works perfectly fine in mxml.
    EXAMPLE:
    This Works:
    <mx:Label id="testLabel"
    text="{MainApplication.CONSOLE.currentItem.IssueName}" />
    This does not work:
    var testLabel = new Label();
    BindingUtils.bindProperty(testLabel,"text",MainApplication.CONSOLE.currentItem,"IssueName ");
    this.addChild(testLabel);
    The variable is set to be bindable. What happens is the first
    time in AS is it finds the correct text in that string, but any
    time the string is updated the label does not change. What is mxml
    doing differently here that i am doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    ~Jamie

    I think In MXML the binding is setup to watch changes in
    MainApplication, CONSOLE, currentItem and IssueName.
    Where as in AS only the IssueName is getting watched. I think
    the binding should have been set on currentItem propertly of
    CONSOLE which I think is getting changed.

  • Need help creating custom objects and adding them to an array.

    Hi Everyone,
    So I'm dinking around in Powershell today and I'm failing at creating an array of custom objects.  I want to create a HTML report that builds out after every MDT image update. To do that, I need to collect my data on what's contained in each build.
    Here's my current script in progress -
    function Parse-Dependents($fullname){
    #PARAMETER SWITCHING
    if(!($fullname)){
    $dependents = get-dependents
    if($fullname){
    $dependents = get-dependents -fullname $fullname
    #SPIN THROUGH ARRAY OF GUIDS FROM GET-DEPENDENTS
    foreach($d in $dependents){
    #SPIN THROUGH EACH APP IN APPLICATIONS.XML
    foreach ($app in $apps){
    #IF MATCH THEN ADD OBJECT WITH PROPERTIES
    if($d -match $app.guid){
    #ADD APPLICATION MATCH TO THE ARRAY
    $applications = @{
    'Name' = $app.ShortName;
    'GUID' = $app.Guid;
    'Version' = $app.Version;
    'Last Modified Time' = $app.LastModifiedTime;
    'Last Modified By' = $app.LastModifiedBy;
    'Install Directory' = [string]'\\my\path\to\MDT\' + $app.WorkingDirectory.TrimStart(".","\")
    'CommandLine' = $app.CommandLine;
    new-object -typename PSObject -property $applications
    #RETURN MATCHED ARRAY
    return $applications
    It all works great until I look at my output and see that I get my expected properties and array, but at the end it's created additional empty entries for each of my initial properties I assigned.  So I get my list of apps like this :
    powershell.ex... OrgChart Plugin  \\my\mdt\server\ XX\user                     9/22/2014 5:... {ffee7497-0c...
    And then below it :
                     CommandLine
                     Name
                     Install Direc...
                     Last Modified By
                     Version
                     Last Modified...
                     GUID
    And these are all listed under the Name property.  I'm still pretty new to PS (8 months or so now), and rarely have to create a custom object, but this seems like a case for doing so to create a custom html report.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Ryan

    It's not really all that strange.
    If you look at your script, you're not outputting the hash table until both loops finish.  The values are dependent on the properties of the $app objects enumerated in the inner loop, and only outputting an object if the dependent ($d) matches the $app
    guid property.
    At the end, you're outputting the hash table without that test, so it's going to have values based on the last $app in the loop, regardless of whether the guid matches the dependents or not.
