Custom Report Syntax - Prompt for limiting collection

I'm building a customer report that will display maintenance windows for multiple devices.  I'd like to be able to filter the number of devices reported by collection (as to not have EVERY device in the console listed all at once).
I've got the report working for everything except the filtering part.  Do I need to add a new Dataset and then filter it somehow?  Here's my only dataset so far:
FIELDS: Computername, CollectionName, Next_Maintenance_Window
QUERY:
select
v_FullCollectionMembership.Name as Computername ,v_Collection.Name as CollectionName,
v_ServiceWindow.Description as 'Next Maintenance Window'
from v_ServiceWindow
inner join v_FullCollectionMembership on (v_FullCollectionMembership.CollectionID = v_ServiceWindow.CollectionID)
inner join v_Collection on (v_Collection.CollectionID = v_FullCollectionMembership.CollectionID)
order By Computername
What do I need to add to be able to select the collection 1st then run the query above?

HI
Or you could do it like this:
Create a new dataset and paste in the following Query:
SELECT
  v_Collection.Name
  ,v_Collection.CollectionID
FROM
  v_Collection
Where CollectionType=2
Insert the following code in your own Query (dataset) right before order by Computername
Where v_Collection.Name = (@CollID)
Expand Parameters in Report Builder, you should see a paramter called @CollID
Right-click CollID and fill in the following information on the general page:
Name: CollID
Prompt: Collection
On the Available Values select Get values from a query
Dataset: Dataset2 (the new dataset you just created)
value field: Name
Label field: Name
Design your layout in report builder and run the report. You will get a drop-down box with all your device collections.
This report is not "RBAC" enabled

  • Report sometimes prompts for database logon prior to execution

I have installed the Crystal Reports Integration Addon on our system and it works correclty for users on our terminal services server.  But when I installed it on a user's PC running Windows XP, when I go to execute an existing report, the Runtime viewer launches, and then displays a Database logon panel with the Server field filled in, the database field is blank, and the SA user and password fields are populated, and I get an error that says logon failed.  I type in the SA user id and password, but get the same error.
If the same user logs onto the TS server, the runtime viewer launches correctly and the report prompts for input, then displays the appropriate data (no database logon is requested). But if it runs at that user's workstation, the viewer launches, and then prompts for database logon.
We are running SAP 2007A SP00 PL47, CR Basic 2008 for SAP Business One, and the runtime viewer is Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime SP1. version 2.0.0.7

    Hi Bruce,
I am not sure what the problem is.
The only workaround I can think of is to change the Integrated Security in the report to true. This means that you will be using Windows Authentication as opposed SQL Authentication. This will not prompt for SQL username and password.
Usually this is NOT an ideal process as you will have to Add each and every Windows user in the SQL Database you are trying to access. For example, you have to add DOMAIN_NAME\User_Name under the Database Properties.
I am not sure what the minimum security you need to run the report. You will try a few different options and see what works best for you. Avoid permissions that would give users ability to write to the SQL database.
Again, I know this is not ideal. But I am not sure what else can be done here.

  • Custom Reports timing out for past 2 days.....

I have been trying for a couple days to create a custom report -
When i click on Reports > custom reports > ecommerce > I select products and click next and it has timed out consistently for a couple days now.....
This kind of stuff is why we are moving away from BC - you would think though as large as adobe is this platform would be more robust and stable. Very disapointing.
    *sigh*

    Hi Tom,
Have you raised a case or reach direct chat support?  This is obviously not normal behavior and should be escalated if still happening.
If you have an existing case please provide this so I can check the status.  Otherwise please proceed reaching to direct support with this.

  • Financial Reporting: One prompt for all reports in a book

I want to prompt once for all reports in the book for year and month. Right now it prompts for each report. I see that you can select to "respond at book level" but I don't know if that will solve the problem and I can't see how to make that drop down appear.
Books points of view are set to User POV for year and month now. When I try to edit the memebr selection I see member names, sub var and User POV but no prompt choice.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • LOV custom sorting in prompts for calender month

    Hello Everyone,
I want to do sorting in prompts in webi for Calender Month in the form (Jan,Feb,Mar....)
Whereas, it comes alphabetically As (Apr,Aug and so on....) i want to know that can we find the solution for the same.
I also want to know if yes can we do it in webi itself or we will have to do it on Information Design Tool?

Hi Foram. I, too, am using HANA as my backend. Here's one way you can sort your data-driven prompts that appear in Web Intelligence:
Open your business layer within the Information Design Tool.
Verify that the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g., "Month") has been defined in your business layer.
Select the "Parameters and Lists of Values" button.
In the "List of Values" frame, press the down arrow and then select "List of values based on business layer objects".
Give the the list an intuitive name; e.g., "Month LOV".
On the Definition tab, press the "Edit Query..." button.
Drag the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g, "Month") to the Result Objects frame.
    Press the "Sort dialog..." button.
In the Sort dialog box, press the "Insert Sort Object" button.
Select the column to sort on; e.g., "Month" and then press the OK button.
Verify the sort type; e.g., "Ascending".
    Press the OK button.
Press the Preview button to confirm the results.
Save and publish the universe to your repository.
    Open your Webi report.
    Enter into Design mode.
    Open the Query Panel.
    Select the appropriate query.
In the Query Filters frame, select the prompt (e.g., "Month") and press the "Show prompt properties" button.
In the Prompt Properties dialog box, in the Prompt Properties frame, make sure "Prompt with List of Values" is selected.
    Press the OK button.
    Press the Close button.
    Press the Refresh button.
Confirm that the prompt (e.g., "Month") is sorted properly.
    Hope this helps!

  • Custom reports required for bangladesh.

    Hi All,
What are custom reports normally required for Bangladesh considering their statutory norms?
    Regds
    RK.

    Hi Sharvari,
This report is most sought and important report because now C Form and F form collection has become online and accurate data have to be provide to the sales tax authorities based on which these forms will be issued.
On this matter I suggest you don't spend time in questing reports for these forms because standard system does not provide. It is better that you sit with an ABAPer spending logical effort and get the customized report which will be great ease to sales tax processing.

  • View Reports for individual Collections

    Hello,
Is there a way to view Reports for individual Collections?  When I review my Usage Reports or look at Reports within the PSM I only get a break down of total user actions per day for the whole site.  I don't see a way to view data for just a single Collection.  It would be extremely helpful to me and my faculty if we could see reports or stats for specific Collections.  For example, if I could see total subscriptions and downloads for HIST1010.  It'd be even better if we could view totals for whole months rather than each day of the month but at this point any data about a whole individual Collection would be great.  Any help in viewing the data in this way is really appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Syd,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply.  I was able to use your directions to pull stats for the last few weeks for the faculty member who requested this info.
My dream (if Apple is reading) would be to view monthly stats and have that information attached to each course so faculty members could view and sort that information on their own.  This would be especially helpful because as our site continues to grow and I continue to encourage faculty to manage their own content, the ability to access the data on their Collections would provide great feedback on how their ocntent is being used.  Being able to see how frequently the content they're taken the time to make is being used could be empowering.
Anyway, thanks again for assisting with how to access the data that is currently available.
    Best,
    Nikki

  • 1 User Prompt for 2 rows in Financial Reporting ?

    Hello,
for 2 years, I am struggling with following-
we have very detailled (detailled in 2 or 3 dimensions - let's say here: CBU and CostCenter ) reports, which run very long
in order to give user the overview/total as well, we want to give the total over all 2 or 3 dimensions only
the user should be allowed to choose 1 or more values (CBUs) via user prompt
current workaround is to have 2 user prompts (1 for detailled combinations) and (1 for total) and asking the user to fill the CBU 2 times
if user is not chosing same CBU(s), then report is inconsistant:
as many people have to use dozens of values and because there is no select all/ deselect all function - the handling is very annoying for the users.
    Sample Report Definition
    ...........................................Dimension 1...........................................Dimension 2
Row 1 (of report definition): Descendants of Prompt for CBUs..............Descendants of Costcenter
Row 2 (of report definition): Prompt for CBUs....................................Costcenter Total
by this, we get a sample output like this: (Projects are the level 0 members of CBUs in CBU dimension)
    ...........................................Project A from CBU I.....................CostCenter X...............50
    ...........................................Project A from CBU I.....................CostCenter Y...............20
    ...........................................Project B from CBU II....................CostCenter X...............10
    ...........................................Project C from CBU III...................CostCenter Z...............100
    ...........................................Project D from CBU III...................CostCenter X...............200
    ...........................................CBU I..........................................CostCenter Total..........70
    ...........................................CBU II.........................................CostCenter Total..........10
    ...........................................CBU III........................................CostCenter Total..........300
    Problem is:
I would like to define for
    Row 2 Prompt for CBUs
    and for
Row 1 Descendants of Same as Row 2
but then I get the error "5200 : Error executing query: +Server+/+Application+/+Database+/+User+/Error(1001005) Unknown Member [Same As Row  2] in Report
any idea how to workaround with that ? (have same problem with *Children of Same as Row 2*
I tried to combine *Same as Row 2* with *RelativeMember & Offset -1* definition in reporting is then: Relative to Same As Row 2 offset by -1
    - but no success - all I achieve is a true Same as - resulting in duplication of all data of Row 2 and nothing from row 1.
Any other ideas, how to combine a same as function with functions like parent, children, descendants or relative member ? Did I do anything wrong in combining them or is the relativemember function not working in 9.3.1 ?
Please note, that these detailled reports typicially run 10 to 20 minutes - so telling users to run 2 reports or including lot's of not needed data or first retrieving and then hiding again is not really helpful - I would also not ask, if this function was not used in dozens of reports.
The user prompt function in financial reporting is the most used functionality in our reports- the users run approx. 100 reports a day - and fill between 3 and 10 user prompts (with a lot of default values & substitution variables) - this appeared the most efficient way for unexperienced users, who need different data every day.
unfortunately, it does not allow the report designer to allow either 1 or many values
it seems to struggle with our special request of "children of same as"
and it has no "select all" / "unselect all" button - which would allow the user to select all/none of the Choices List, defined in the user prompt.
Please do not recommend usage of Analyzer - this tool is far to slow, has no cancel button and the users simply go lost.
Smartview is too risky for majority of our users, as they would use the refresh button only - and not zoom in & zoom out - and miss a lot of new combinations by using old smartview-excel-templates (from previous month/forecast)
Any help on any of these items would be highly recommended.

If I understand correctly you would only have one CBU on any given report.
Instead of prompting for Row 2 and pulling the totals from the Outline. You could delete your current Row2 and have the report provide the totals based on the data results from ROW 1. Insert a row formula for Row 2 and sum the results for that paticular column.
    Formula:
    Sum([1])

  • Custom Report for Pricing Conditions Master

    Hi Everyone,
We know that Pricing Conditions Master Data is stored in KONH and KONP. If a condition is populated in a document then transactional data can be obtained from KONV with 'condition record number' as the foreign key.
The requirement is to design a custom report that lists for order items the pricing conditions (basic price) that are not populated in the sales orders. The pricing is not carried out in these orders as these are not chargeable orders, but the user wishes to know in an existing custom report the price from the conditon master data.
The idea is that the sales order has no pricing calculated but how much Sales Price the material has as per the price condition master record. This can be known by the custom report.
Visiting the standard prcing preports like V/LD is laborious for the user and wishes to add a column in an exisitng report of order item list for the price of each order item.
The challenge here is that in KONH there is no field for material exlusively. It gets stored as a text and hence fetching data from this table for a given material seems difficult. Let us remember that we are not refering to any sales order while accessing data from KONH or KONP.
Any thoughts / views on how this can be achieved are most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Hemant

You will have to work on exact condition table in access sequence instead of KONH. For eg: If condition table in access sequence is 601 then you will have fetch the condition number KNUMH from table A601 (prefix A before the condition table number). With the KNUMH you can get the condition value from KONP.

  • XL Reporter - Prompting for Production Order Number - How to?

I have watched the FlashBook's for creating reprots, and following the directions. When I go to create a new Paramater, the Document Number is not an available Dimension.
Can anyone point me in the right direction in setting up an XL Reporter report that prompts for Production Order number / Document ID? How do you create prompts for record ID's?
    Thanks.

Thank you for the help. This gets me closer then I was before.
To test, I am list listing the Production Order Document Number and the Due Date. Looking to list only the Production Order and Due Date from a prompted Production Order.
I tried both Cell Expansion and Row Expansion using the parameter you suggested. Cell Expansion returns all documents, but with a document number of 0. Row expansion gives me an error.
I have captured all the screen shots and posted them to the web. If you wouldnt mind taking a quick look. I am sure something I am doing is off, but feel I am close with your help.

  • CIM WIM/EIM sql templates for developing custom reports

    Hi there,
We want to create custom reports from eGReport Database, where I can find the SQL queries are used in the reports are available from Report Console and then I'd be able to develop my custom reports?
Thanks for your give a look into this.

In CIM you can find tables including  "_SMY" in their name in reportsDB are holding the reports Data.
I would suggest to consult eGain PS or Cisco AS while desiging custom queries to get accurate outputs. As some of column names could be confusing to you without Data model guide.

When the report is run from CR Server, the initial SQL Server connection log in is automatically handled by the log in details in CR Server, but the report then prompts for SQL Server log in four times, presumably for each sub report.
How can I get rid of these SQL login prompts?

Yes - it looks like it might have been to do with the contents of the ".sqldeveloper" directory. Probably SQL Developer may have got confused with me running the same SQL on the same database under different users.
We create a read-only user to carry out queries against the live schema. This read-only user has only select privileges and no insert/update/delete privileges.
    Thanks for the feedback

  • Stop Crystal from Prompting for Parameters

    Hi there,
I am trying to stop Crystal from prompting for a parameter that has the Optional Prompt flag set to True as I want to use the HasNoValue attribute to retrieve all records when there is not a specific value sent to the parameter.
When the parameter is created from a store procedure, I can simply set the value to nothing and handle the resulting NULL in the procedure.
I was expecting that I could do the same for the regular parameters but this returns a "parameter field and parameter field current values are not compatible" error.
I have tried setting the HasCurrentValue to True but this is a read only attribute.
I have also tried setting the Viewer.ReuseParameterValuesOnRefresh to False (and True) but the report still prompts for the parameter.
I have searched the web for the last two days and have had no joy on this so any help or pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance

    Hi Don,
I am using Crystal 2008 for both the report and the assemblies.
Using the word All is not really an option as I need to process all types of parameters i.e. Boolean, integers and dates as well as strings.
I could create some complex formulas to handle this but I need the report creation to be simple as possible as possible so that the customer can create reports at will.
Using the Optional Prompt feature now available in 2008 I can create a simple record selection formula that looks like something like this :-
    (not HasValue({?MyParameter}) OR {Table1.Field1} = {?MyParameter})
My problem is getting the parameter to register through my code that it has been set to HasValue = False so that the user is not prompted by the viewer to enter the parameter again.

  • Custom report template and URL links

    Hello,
I have been working on this problem for some-time and it's starting to get frustrating. I am trying to 'mimic' the functionality of the 'people search' application and I am working on the hierarchy portion of it (page 3).
I copied the (3) custom report templates (one for each level of the hierarchy) and I created three queries to go to each.
My problem is that the links in the report template code keep getting mixed around -- the mgr_id is showing where the mgr_name should be, etc. In the example application the query has about 6 columns, and the template is only showing three (and the order of them in the report attributes doesn't seem to matter. But when I change the column order in my application, the data in the template changes??
    Here is an example query:
    select MGR_NAME, work_role,
    nvl(total_direct,0) Directs, nvl(total_reports,0) Reports
    from hr_orgchart_view
    where
    emp_id = :p3_emp_id
    And the matching report template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#
    </font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>
Since the column name is being referenced as the link text, column order should not matter right?
Please shed some light on this situation, as I am holding up development. I am using version 1.6
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Sorry, the code was messed up in previous post:
    Template:
    <tr align="center" valign="top">
    <td align="center"class="instructiontext">
    <b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
    <br><font size=-2>
    #WORK_ROLE#</font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
    Directs: #DIRECTS#   Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>

  • Product Tables vs Custom Report Results

I was recently asked to provide an installation list of Adobe Reader to one of my coworkers. This is simple enough - under the Asset Inventory/Workstation Inventory Tab in the Custom Reports I have created a simple report to show me where Adobe Reader is installed and I get results.
If I run the same type of report in the Asset Management/Software Management Tab Custom Reports again looking for Adobe Reader I get results.
However, if I look for that product in either the Product Catalog or Discovered Catalog I get zero results. I thought that for ZAM to be able to report on a piece of software that it should appear as either a Product or Discovered Catalog Product. Can someone explain why I am getting these results when I look in either of the Catalogs?

You should be able to see it in the Discovered Products list. I suspect you don't have the correct search criteria set in the column on the left. select 'All Products' in all the View fields on the left and 'Filter by' = Value and 'Field name' = product and 'Search string' = acrobat. This works for me and brings up all the products with acrobat in their name installed in our envirnoment.
The Product Catalog isn't what you think it is. Products are added by the user and represent the form the licences come in. Read the online help on the Product Catalog.
