Custom UDI Pages - Visual Studio Build Error MSB3073

Hello All,
I am attempting to following the MDT 2013 documentation "User Driven Installation - Developers Guide.docx". In this documentation, it walks you through preparing the UDI Development Environment, and then Verify the UDI Development Environment.
It is at this point that I encounter the build error.
I have followed all the steps required to prepare the environment, by copying the required files from the MDT installation directory. I am following the steps within the "Verify That the SamplePage Project Builds Correctly." I have made the modifications
the documentation lists, but after step 13, which starts the debug build, instead of the
No Debugging Information dialog box (as indicated by the documentation), I encounter a dialog stating there were build errors.
Here is the various outputs.

Hi Kamrun,
Looks exactly like a problem I had earlier in the year when I started creating projects on a new machine. My solution is in the thread below:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/675154?tstart=0
The key post was...
function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
I've done a little more investigation and have tracked the problem down to the xxxODFRC.rsp file. Each path in an rsp file is put on a newline. This is done by appending a Carriage Return character (0x15) to the end of each path.
If you specify a different path for the headers (i.e. ".\headers"), it will be added to the end of the ODFRC.rsp and CPP.rsp files.
The problem is that a Carriage Return is not added to the end of the headers path. The "s" is the last character in the file. If I add a carriage return to the end of the line, the project compiles correctly. If you don't specify a different path, the last characters in the ODFRC.rsp file are 0x0A 0x0A 0x0A and in the CPP.rsp file 0x0A 0x0A.
This would appear to be a bug in Dollyxs. Probably introduced with CS5?
I can't say if this is a proper solution of just a hack that works on my machine. But there's no harm in giving it a go.
Cheers,
APMABC

  • Custom Administration Setting (Visual Studio form dll)

I am developing a custom extension to SCSM that needs an administration settings page. I have the MP created and the SCSM part in place. Also the WPF User Control dll part, but the link between the two is the trouble. I have used Travis
Wright’s article for the MP stuff:
    Creating a Custom Administration Setting
But get this message when accessing the dll from the SCSM console.
Any sample VS project or help?
    /Kim

I'm afraid the screenshot doesn't provide enough information about the error.
Have you stepped through your code yet to find out where the error is occurring? If you're unfamiliar with how to do that: In Visual Studio, Debug|Attach to Process, attach to the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe. Set a break-point at
the first statement in your ExecuteCommand method, then double-click your admin settings in the console. If your DLL is properly installed, you should hit the break-point right away.
If you're not hitting your break-point but still seeing the exception, it's likely something is out of whack with your MP or the way your DLL is setup.

  • Microsoft Visual Studio - Exception Error

I am just trying to convert a data file into an array in Microsoft Visual Studio 2013.  My code first builds with no errors (its all green) then it comes up with this error message.

  • Problem when adding ABAP custom webservice with Visual Studio 2010

    Hi All,
After creating a webservice for a custom RFC function developed in a ECC6.0 SAP machine, I tried to add it to a Visual Studio 2010 windows aplication (through a web reference connection).
    The sequence I've done is:
    - Create RFC in ABAP, with testing ok
    - Create a WEBSERVICE with the ABAP editor
    - Configured the webservice with SICF with:
         Procedure: Standard
         Logon data: standard R3 user
         Security requirement: Standard
         Authentication: Standard SAP User
Then, in SOAMANAGER I copied the webservice URL and tried to add it to Visual Studio 2010, but it keeps asking me the user and password. I try to supply the R3 username and password but if fails.
Why is ECC6.0 asking the user and passord if I've defined a SAP user for the login process?
Is there any way to disable this?
    Thanks,
    Manuel Dias

    Hello Manuel,
You can use the following code:
    CredentialCache cache = new CredentialCache();
          cache.Add(new Uri("WEBSERVICEURL:PORTNUMBER/"), "Basic", new NetworkCredential("USERNAME", "PASSWORD"));
    SAP needs a password.
    Kind regards,

  • Sharepoint 2010 - Visual studio 2010 error - Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Failed to load receiver assembly

    Hello,
I get the following error when trying to attach an event reciver ->
Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Failed to load receiver assembly . The system cannot find the file specified.
This happens only when i try to change the deployment target from "GlobalAssemblyCache" to "WebApplication".
    Steps to reproduce->
    1. Create a new feature and add an event receiver. Deploy the solution. Everything works fine.(Since deployment target is GlobalAssemblyCache). If you now change the deployment target to "WebApplication" , it works too.
    2. Now, restart visual studio. Change Deployment target to  "WebApplication" without deploying the solution. And you get the above error.
    3. Every time you restart your visual studio with deployment target as "WebApplication", you will receive this error.
Any idea?? Manual deployment of the solution works fine too.
When i go to virutal path bin directory, the dll is missing because of which the error occurs. Dont know why, it doesnt copy the dll to bin?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
Feature receivers must be deployed in the GAC & cannot be deployed to private bin of the WebApplication.

  • Pro*C,Visual Studio 6 Error LNK2001 on _sqlcxt

    Hello,
    I have a problem in Visual C 6.
After having precompiled a source with Pro*C,i want to compile with the IDE, but where is the error :
error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _sqlcxt
Anyone knows how to solve this problem ?
    Thanks.

Makre sure the Pro*C library is included in your project (orasql9.lib for example).
Make sure you are not mixing C/C++. Name mangling could prevent the import from being found.

  • How to Build Custom JSP Page to bypass Oracle Apps Login

    Hi All,
Can some one guide me how to develop a custom jsp page to bypass Oracle Apps R12 Login.
Actually Our requirement is some external user will enter the login details in some third party login page with the third party generated username and passwrod, that user's credentials are mapped to oracle system,so as soon as they enter credentials having validated it has to redirect that external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Currently that third Party login page is set to redirect to RF.jsp but that is not working and throws this error:
"You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
    - The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to Proceed"
So I am planning to build a custom jsp page to resolve the error.
As soon as user enter credentials in the third party login page, it will be redirected to my custom login page which in turn redirect external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Is it possible? If yes what JSP Page/Servlet I have to invoke from custom JSP Page and what all URL parameters or session parameters and cookies parameter I have to pass or set.
    Can anybody please help me...
Its very urgent. We are running short of time. Its a sev 1 issue.
    Please reply soon.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

  • Problem with "View project-level information" permission when accessing build definition in Visual Studio Online

    Hi,
from some time all our team members are experiancing problems when acsessing list of builds on Visual Studio Online or when trying to edit build definition in Visual Studio. Error message suggests problem with missing View project-level information permission:
"TF50309: The following account does not have sufficient permissions to complete the operation: XXXXXXXX. The following permissions are needed to perform this operation: View project-level information."
I've checked permissions of my User account and Group. "View project-level information" is set to Allow on both levels. We didn't make any changes in security configuration recently. Does anyone faced similar problem?
Short term solution was to add all users, to Project Collection Administrators Group, but it is not what we would like to live with.

It seems that the problem was fixed and Project Collection Administrators permissions are no longer required. Great :-)

  • Create a custom Master Page in SharePoint Foundation 2013

    Hi,
I am new to SharePoint foundation.
I am trying to create a custom master page and save it as template, so that i can use it for all other sub sites. But i don't know where to start. Also i tries searching in Google, i got results for share point and not for share point foundation.
So, Please give me a step by step procedure or a link to step by step procedure on how to create a master page, save it as template and use it for a sub site.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gowtham R

Few points to note related to SharePoint Master page:
You don't need to create master page template. If you deploy your master page in site collection level you can reuse the same master page in subsites without copying again and again, rather just by referencing
You have not mentioned how you are going to deploy your master page. If you have any Visual Studio (VS) solution already, try to add your  master page in the VS solution and deploy your master page (and other branding components) as SharePoint WSP
    solution.
Deploying master page will not activate the master page, you need to use some kind of 'Web Level Feature' to activate your branding - the feature will basically set the master page property of SharePoint site to your custom master page.
Please follow the links below for steps by steps instructions (and you will find many just by googling 'sharepoint master page visual studio'):

  • How to deal with .csproj.user being created/modified by Visual Studio before the project is run?

    So, what is the problem?
The problem is that Visual Studio considers .csproj.user a dependency of the project being run.
    Let us assume the following:
     - We have a freshly built solution containing a web application project `X` as the Start Up project.
     - There are Silverlight applications served by the X web application.
     - There is no `X.csproj.user` file initially.
Now consider the following flow of events:
     1. Open the solution in the Visual Studio
     2. Build.
     3. Run.
     4. A dialog is open to ask whether Silverlight debugging is to be enabled. Enable it.
     5. Stop the debugging session.
     6. Run again.
     7. Stop the debugging session.
     8. Run again.
Assuming nothing is built at step 2 (because the solution is totally up to date), will there anything be built at steps 3 and 6?
The answer is affirmative and here is why:
     - The X.csproj.user file is actually created by Visual Studio when the project is requested to run. What happens next is that the
X.csproj.user file is considered a dependency of the project
X by the Visual Studio. Being created just now the file is newer than the project binaries and so Visual Studio builds the project
    X. This explains why the project is built at step 3.
     - When we agree to enable Silverlight debugging Visual Studio records this agreement in the
X.csproj.user file. So the file is modified again, after the project has started running. Restarting the debugging session is going to build the project
X yet again, after all X.csproj.user is again newer than the binaries built a second ago. This explains why the project is built at step 6.
Fortunately, nothing is built at step 8.
Call me petty, but I want to avoid the builds at steps 3 and 6. The problem is that I am not allowed to check in the X.csproj.user file, because that is likely to create a mess with people accidentally checking in their private changes.
On the other hand, I am unable to move its default content (along with the agreement to enable Silverlight debugging) into the project file
X.csproj. Well, I can, but it is just being ignored.
So, here is my question - is it possible to separate the content stored in a
    .csproj.user into two groups:
     - Permanent. These are the things I would love to have in the .csproj file. It will be checked in.
     - Temporary/Private. These are the things private to individual developers. Never checked in.
Visual Studio already allows this separation for certain properties - see the

    However, it is insufficient.
Any other ideas on how to prevent the aforementioned redundant builds are welcome too.

    Hi Mark,
I think your issue is more about project itself. the saved information in the .csproj.user settings is about the project's information.
So I suggest you post your issue to the related project forum.
