How create custom sharepoint 2013 theme in Visual Studio

Please advice! I created a custom theme for sharepoint 2013 with fonts, colors and masterpage. Using Design Manager i created a wsp file for this theme. After this i could upload this file to any site and choose my theme. As i understood, Design Manager
take all files from site (all masterpages, colors and etc), not only my files.
Now i want to understand how i can create a custom theme in visual studio. I want include in my wsp files only files which i need and may be make a feature, which will be activate my custom theme.
Please give any useful recouses which can help to understand how make it right :). Thanks a lot!

    Dear Team,
    How  to create a workflow for template approval process using visual studio 2013.To achieve this do i need to install share point on my machine.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create a SharePoint 2013 workflow using Visual Studio 2013.
    We need setting up and configuring Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 and the Workflow Manager Client 1.0 server, see Start:

  • Windows 7 with SharePoint 2013 Foundation and Visual Studio 2013

    Hi,
    I am begginer with Sharepoint 2013 Foundation.
    My company installed Sharepoint 2013 Foundation on a virtual Server. I installed
    Visual Studio 2013 on my local computer. Also i created a developer site.
    Based on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj220047(v=office.15).aspx#RDOverview I installed Office
    Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2013 on my local computer.
    I am trying to remotely develop apps
    with Visual Studio 2013. In the option What SharePoint site do you want to use for debugging your App? i put the url
    of developer site.
    First of all, i had to choose if the apps will be SharePoint-hosted or Provider-hosted apps. Based on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp142379(v=office.15).aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp142381(v=office.15).aspx,
    i decided to followed SharePoint-hosted because is the only type that applies to SharePoint 2013 Foundation.
    I followed the steps of http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp142379(v=office.15).aspx, which is the quide for How to:Create a basic SharePoint-hosted app. In Step 10 for deploy my app i get the following error:
    Error occurred in deployment step 'Install app for SharePoint': Failed to install app for SharePoint. Please see the output window for details.
    What is the problem?
    Also, the visual studio need to be installed on the server where sharepoint was installed?
    Moreover, do I need app catalog for testing and deploy apps?
    thanks, Aphrodite

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about creating app.
    Per my knowledge, the issue is caused that you don’t configure the app catalog URLs from the central administration.
    It means that we should create an App site catalog site collection to hold our Apps.

  • How create Windows Services in Azure using Visual Studio 2012

    Hi,
    I have a need to write a Windows Service (Batch Job), which would execute everyday at a specified time, say 4:00AM. This job will do some processing and will send out an email to predefined users. I am using Visual Studio 2012 for the development.
    Based on some research, it looks like that Azure doesn't have a concept of Windows Service. Rather, we need to create WorkerRole to achieve the same.
    I wrote the code to implement the WorkerRole. The problem, I am facing is that
    1. How to prevent the continuous looping of the code below? I want the task to be executed only once a day at 4:00AM
    2. How do I schedule this functionality in Azure?
    Any help will be highly appreciated. I have provided the code sample below.
    Thanks.
       public class WorkerRole : RoleEntryPoint
            public override void Run()
                while (true)
                    SendNewsEmail();
                    Thread.Sleep(10000);
           private void SendNewsEmail()
                /*Email Logic Goes Here*/
            public override bool OnStart()
                // Set the maximum number of concurrent connections
                ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 12;
                return base.OnStart();

    HI
    I think JuneT's answer is what you want.
    However it's for Azure website.
    If you still want to use a workerRole, you need much harder work.
    You can use Timers Class to do such things:
    http://stick2basic.wordpress.com/2013/02/22/how-to-schedule-a-c-windows-service-to-run-a-method-daily/
    How do I schedule this functionality in Azure
    I suggest you save the settings file in a cloud table, and notify your webrole using WCF service to let the service get the new settings when your changed it.

  • Question about creating association between Sharepoint BDC entities using Visual Studio 2010

    I am following this tutorial:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vssharepointtoolsblog/archive/2010/08/02/walkthrough-of-creating-association-between-sharepoint-bdc-entities-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx
    I am getting the following error:
     There is an error in the TypeDescriptors of Parameters on Method with Name 'CustomerToOrder' on Entity (External Content Type) with Name 'Customer' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1'. The TypeDescriptors incompletely define where the Foreign
    Identifiers of Entity 'Order' in Namespace 'BdcAssociationSample.BdcModel1' are to be read. That Entity expects exactly '1' Identifiers, but only '0' TypeDescriptors with the correct Association were found from which to read them.
    I have viewed the following:
    http://lightningtools.com/business_connectivity_services/the-typedescriptors-incompletely-define-where-the-identifiers-of-entity-x-are-to-be-readbcs-error/
    after reading that article, I am still not sure what setting I am missing.  Does anyone have the full working source code from the msdn article linked above?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got the symbols not loaded error.
    First try rebuilding your project by right mouse click the project > Rebuild If that doesn't work, try a clean of the project (right mouse click on the project > clean)
    If that didn't work check this:
    Right mouse click your project
    select [Properties]
    select the [Build] tab
    make sure [Define DEBUG constant] and [Define TRACE constant] are checked
    Click the [Advanced] button at the bottom of the Build tabpage
    Make sure that [Debug Info:] is set to [full]
    Click [OK] and rebuild the project ;
    Hope that works for you! (step 6 generates the .pdb files, these are the debugging symbols)
    What’s more, you can clean & re-compile the code, then install the respective dlls one more time to GAC (just remove them before adding to GAC again), do an IISReset to check whether it works.

  • Can I label a Power View sheet created in SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
    Is this possible to label a Power View sheet created in SharePoint 2013 and have it shown on the preview snapshots?
    This is because in the PowerPivot Gallery in SharePoint 2013 has a really nice display of previews with Excel workbook that includes a label on top of the preview for each worksheet in the workbook.
    Thanks,
    Jane

    P.S.  if this is still not making sense create a power view report in SharePoint from a SSAS cube.  Save that power view report in SharePoint.  The power view report should
    have a couple of measures and 1 or 2 dimension.  Open the report just to confirm it is saved correctly.  Now go to SSAS and rename 1 of the measures or dimensions that you used, Save and rebuild your olap .  If it’s a calculated measure
    you just need to save olap.    Now open your power view report and notice that that measure/dimension you changed is no longer in the report.
    IN one hand it is great that reports do not error and break; however, on the other hand the users might not know what measure/dimension changed and then be lost/mad because the report no longer
    works like they want.  In my opinion it would have been better if the power view broke with an error message that it cannot load because measure x does not exist than to just load fine.
    In any case I need a method to know when a dimension/measure is modified what reports are using it.   Another example is this could even be a case where the dimension values are getting
    modified and we need to potentially make a update to any power view/pivot using this dimension as a filter?

    Hi Mohamed Abdeen,
    Please try to enable a build-in app for Office, such as "Bing dictionary" and check if the task pane pop-up.
    If the "Bing dictionary" works well, I suppose that this issue might be caused by itself. I recommend you post the question to Word for DEV forum:

    It seems that an account are you using to deploy solution doesn't have sufficient permission in the BDC Metadata Store. In order to assign permission you should open Central Administration->Application Management->Manage Service Application->Business
    Data Connectivity Service->Click Set Metada Store Permission on the ribbon->Set Permission you need and tick the checkbox "Propagate permission to all..."
