Custom validation is disabling submit button

Hi there,
I am using the update/insert feature within ADDT, but wanted to use my own validation using JavaScript. Everything works fine, the validation pop-up works etc, but the submit button is disabled. I'm guess that the transaction has started with the ADDT, but the javascript has stopped it. How can I get around this? any suggestions welcome...
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
Have you tried different browsers to double check. I remember a couple months ago I was helping someone with a similar problem, it worked in one browser fine but not the other so we had to rewrite the code. Initially the code looked fine but just didnt work in IE.

  • Spry validation disables Submit button

    Hey,
    I'm using spry validation on text boxes and dropdown menu's
    .. for some reason, on certain pages when the form is submitted and
    validated, if there's a problem with one of the fields, the submit
    button is disabled and won't enable again. Any ideas on how I can
    stop this from happening?

  • RESOLVED - iExpense: Disable Submit Button based on checkbox not working

    Hi,
    We have a requirement for a checkbox in iExpense Review form(FinalReviewPG) where there should be a checkbox stating the terms and policies are met etc. Unless the user checks the checkbox the SUBMIT button shouldnt be enabled. I am creating the custom checkbox using personalisation in the page with initial/unchecked value as N and checked value as Y. This is created at SITE level.
    Now I have also created a custom controller extension xxButtonCO to extend the standard ButtonsCO controller which should do the disable/enable of the button OIESubmit. I ported this controller to the custom top and have extended the controller to both OIE Expenses Entry Flow function and Internet Expenses responsibility. But the checkbox though visible is not affecting the SUBMIT button. Also funnily, I save the controller class as xx.oracle.apps.ap.oie.webui.xxlcButtonCO and click apply only to see this concatenated to apps.ap.oie.webui.xxlcButtonCO / Function.
    Is that causing an issue? Also, sometimes I just run into an arbitrary NULL pointer exception and other times it says oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Could not create Java class. I have verified the class file not java file is in correct directory and has right permissions.
    What could possibly be wrong here?

    Hi Kali,
    Many thanks for your response. I have quit trying to run this page directly from the instance and am now trying to do this firsly from the JDeveloper. The same issue is occuring from that end as well. My checkbox value is not getting recognised in the code. The checkbox is added to the Business Expenses tab and the intial/unchecked value is N while the checked value is Y. I am trying to control the submit button in the buttonbar based on the checkbox value using the following command
    OAMessageCheckBoxBean cbbean = (OAMessageCheckBoxBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("XXReviewCheck");
    where XXReviewCheck is the checkbox ID. However the print statements show that the cbbean is null. It is definitely calling the controller and trying to figure out the value. The value is just not coming to this section. Any ideas?

  • Disable submit button after clicking on it

    Hi all,
    I m beginner at working with JHeadstart.
    I searched through this forum but I couldn't find any solution for my problem,
    Now, i want to know how i can disable save button (or any other button) after clicking on it.
    I dont know, but It can be done by writing .vm, do u have an idea?
    Thanks for ur kind replies:)

    Hi,
    If you only want to be able to submit once you can add the following disabled property with EL expression to your save button in the jspx page.
    disabled="#{adfFacesContext.postback}"
    The save button will only be clickable upon initial entry of the page.
    To persist this change when generating your application you can use a custom velocity template. Have a look at the JHeadstart developers guide, paragraph 4.7
    http://download.oracle.com/consulting/jhsdevguide1013.pdf
    If you want to have an insert only form you can also use an insert only View Object (go to the view object editor and select the tuning tab and the "No rows" option)

  • Spry validation issue with submit button

    Hi,
    I'm new to Spry but am having an issue getting it to work at all.  I created a very simply form (i.e. table with Spry text field and submit button).  I've read many articles and been to several forums, but I can't seem to find the issue I'm having.  Basically, when I go to preview the page in a browser, the table with the Spy text field and submit button comes up fine, but when I hit the submit button, I see the page refresh and any values I had in the text field disappear, but nothing ever comes up saying "A value is required," which is what I'm looking for. This happens even if I don't have any values in the text field.  Below are images of what I'm describing and also the code.  I verified that the "Required" check box is checked in the SpryTextField and the submit button action is selected to "Submit Form."  My setup is Win 7, DW6, & XAMPP.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Before Submit Button pressed:
    Browser after button pressed: (same as above but no message saying "A value is required.")
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextField.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>

      <tr>
        <td> </td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td><form id="form2" name="form2" method="post" action="">
          <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Submit" />
        </form></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td> </td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var sprytextfield1 = new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1", "email");
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>

    Do yourself a big favor and don't waste time with Spry Validation.  Most modern browsers support HTML5 forms with the required attribute.
    If you must placate older browsers, use jQuery validate script.  It's lightweight and works when HTML5 support is missing.  You can see an example below. If you hit submit with empty form fields, the required fields pop-up with messages.  View source in browser to see the code.

  • Custom Web Auth - Missing "Submit" Button

    I have scoured every topic I can get my hands on here at NetPro regarding custom web authentication. I am currently supporting a customer that MUST use a custom web page for two reasons:
    1. Cosmetically, and rightfully so, they would like to use their own logo. Well, why not just upload the custom image, you say? See point 2...
    2. Their custom AUP is beyond the allowed 2047 characters in the default template.
    So I used the default internal template for a test login, and viewed the source to grab the HTML code. I know how to read HTML, so I began commenting out the sidebar, text, and headers that I didn't want. I then inserted the custom logo and AUP text. Visually, the page is fine. However, when I preview the page, the "Submit" button is completely missing. This is true both locally, as well as when it is uploaded to the controller. I also uploaded from the controller the 'loginscript.js' file by selecting file type 'configuration' and inputting the name 'loginscript.js'. I am including that information as well because I know other people have posted asking how to get that, and I haven't seen anyone respond with such instructions. I figured it out on my own after trial and error. If it can be obtained via WCS, it would be nice if someone would post that (other than the same method I used, simply using WCS as the management tool instead of direct controller access). My controller is running code 4.1.185.0, same as my customer's controller. I modified the reference for the javascript source from src="./loginscript.js" to simply src="loginscript.js" because I am putting the script and the login.html file in the same directory. If there is a different directory structure required, I haven't found any documentation saying so other than another NetPro post indicating "Web Authentication_files" folder (whatever that means)? I also noticed that some folks are saying that such a page would have to be run on an External server. If so, why?
    Regards,
    Scott

    Web authentication files are stored in Web Authentication_files directory which controllers can recognize. . If you want to use a different directory it is used on External Web server so that there is no conflct in the storage location.

  • Disabling submit button after resetting the form.

    Hi. I'm new to JSF/Richfaces and there's something I'd like to do that I just can't figure out.
    Currently, I have a form with various fields to be edited, and the standard Submit and Reset buttons. The Submit button is disabled until a user changes a value on the form, and then I enable it using an A4J event. My problem is that I would like to disable the submit button again if the user clicks Reset. I'd like this to be completely client-side if possible, which I understand would require some javascript to implement, but I haven't been able to come up with a solution that works. Does anyone know how I could do this (with an example, preferably)?
    It's a pretty simple scenario, but here's the button code anyway:
    <h:commandButton id="submitButton" value="Submit" action="#{dataBean.submitForm}"
      disabled="#{! dataBean.pageEdited}" />
    <h:commandButton value="Reset" type="reset">
      <a4j:support event="onmouseup" reRender="submitButton" />
    </h:commandButton>

    I see, thanks! I looked up another example on using the DOM (I told you I was new!) and created the following javascript function, and it worked perfectly. I like that it automatically re-renders the button too so I don't need an A4J event.
    function disableSubmitOnReset(){
      document.getElementById('main_form:submitButton').disabled = true;
    }Definitely as simple as I figured it would be. :P

  • Custom Validation on Clicking Submit

    Hi
    I have a SIT setup for capturing Loan details of an employee. The employee enters these details through Self Service and goes for approval on submission. I want to validate the entries made by the employee through a PL/SQL code and pop an error message if it fails validation when clicking 'Submit' . Is there any way this can be achieved ?
    Thanks in advance
    Febin

    What you would need to do is create a controller to allow for this functionality to occur. the processformrequest procedure is the best one to achieve this functionality. Once you have written the custom validation, personalize the page you need the control on and add in the controller.

  • Disable submit button after submission

    We have a form that we have distributed to multiple users. The form is set so that submissions go to a pre-defined server location. The problem is that some of the users submit the form multiple times (not sure why). Perhaps they don't notice the message that says "Form submitted". In any case, we would like to disable the submit button after the form is submitted (even it is only for that "session"). I know that once the form is closed and reopened the button will work again and that is ok. If anyone has some suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks.

    hi,
    modify the above script to:
    this.access = "readOnly";
    your submit button will be set to read only.

  • Sample Custom Bean with Override Submit button

    Does some one have a sample code with an override logic for button.
    Please do not share the code of the Dev Guide and the OIM assets published.

    I have created a Custom Managed Bean, which is associated with My Information Page.My Bean reads a UDF field which has a comma seprated value of EMails and populates a drop down list on the My Information Page.
    This works fine. Now the next step is to implement the value change listener which catches the change/selection done on the drop down list and overriding of Apply Button to save the selected field on User's profile.
    I am not able to do it,even after spending quite bit of time on this. Has any one done something similar and can share code.I need code for Value change Listener and Override Submit button.
    The code which is published in assests page and Dev Guide is not working.
    My Submit button code is
    public void submitActionValidator(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
    String methodName="submitActionValidator";
    System.out.println("Inside"+methodName+"**********");
    BindingContainer bindings = BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    System.out.println("Inside" methodName"2**********");
    // Get the sepecific list binding
    JUCtrlListBinding listBinding = (JUCtrlListBinding)bindings.get("Custom Dropdown");
    System.out.println(methodName+"MNSCUInside SubmitAction3 **********");
    // Get the value which is currently selected
    Object emailSelected = listBinding.getSelectedValue();
    System.out.println(methodName+"MNSCUInside SubmitAction Avlidator***********************************");
    // emailSelected =
    // (RichSelectOneChoice)actionEvent.getSource();
    System.out.println(methodName+"MNSCUemailSelected***********************************:"+emailSelected);
    if (emailSelected != null) {
    preffemail = emailSelected.toString();
    System.out.println(methodName+"preffemail***********************************"+preffemail);
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    FacesUtils.setAttributeBindingValue(EMAIL_ATTRIBUTE,
    preffemail);
    // execute original submit button action listener
    MethodExpression originalActionListener =
    FacesUtils.getMethodExpressionFromEL("#{backingBeanScope.MyInformationUIBean.applyButton}",
    null,
    new Class[] { ActionEvent.class });
    originalActionListener.invoke(FacesUtils.getELContext(),new Object[] {actionEvent});
    System.out.println("Exit methodName **********");

  • Disabled Submit Button

    At the time of submit the submit button is disabled. Is there a way to disable this functionality for certain form?

    by default, on nextensio forms, it is done automatically, but what you seek is done by javascript. something like:<br /><br />I found this here: http://www.houseofscripts.com/scripts/javascripts/disablebut.htm <br /><br />As you can see, this code allows us to do disable any button - either Submit or Button.<br />Just add onClick="Disab (1)" <br /><HTML><br /><HEAD><br /><br /><SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"><br /><br />function Disab (val) {<br /><br />if(val=="1") <br />{form1.Submit.disabled=true}<br /><br />if(val=="2") <br />{form1.Button.disabled=true}<br />}<br /><br /></SCRIPT><br /><br /></HEAD><br /><BODY TEXT="000000" BGCOLOR="FFFFFF"><br /><br /><FORM name="form1" method="post" action=""<br />enctype="text/plain"><br /><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" onClick="Disab (1)"><br /><input type="button" name="Button" value="Button" onClick="Disab (2)"><br /></FORM><br /><br /></BODY><br /></HTML>

  • List View WebPart custom XSL link disabled Ribbon Buttons

    Hi,
    I have added and external XSLT file for my List View web part. I followed these options in browser -> Edit page -> Edit web part -> Under Miscellaneous updated XSL Link.
    I am using this xslt file to add background colors to one of my column. The xslt is getting applied correctly. But I noticed that "View Item" and "Edit Item" option in ribbon is disabled. I removed the xslt link and ribbon worked fine.
    I have added the xslt file to site collection's "Style Library -> XSL Style Sheets" folder.
    When I added same xslt by editing the page in SPD 2010, everything worked fine. The problem appears only when I apply it externally. I found in few posts where they suggest to upload the xsl file in LAYOUTS folder. But I donot have access/permission to change
    the LayOuts folder. I donot want to edit in SPD because, it will be difficult for non technical administrators to apply xslt to other views/pages. Please suggest.

  • How to use Spry validation with link styled submit buttons..??

    I'm working with a theme package that comes with a bunch of button styles that work with basic links.  For example:
    <a href='page.html' class='small-button smallblue'><span>Button Label</span></a>
    I've got a basic form setup with Spry validation, but the submit button needs some styling to make it look nice with the site.  Since there are already styles ready for me to turn links into buttons I figured I'd use the same thing for my submit buttons.
    To accomplish that, I'm using the following javascript...
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function submitForm() {
        document.getElementById("form_name").submit();
    </script>
    And then I'm updating my submit button to something like this...
    <a href='javascript: submitForm()' class='small-button smallblue'><span>Button Label</span></a>
    When I do this, the form submits as expected, but the Spry validation doesn't work.  Is there a way I can make the Spry stuff work with these types of buttons?  I know I could create separate styles for the submit buttons themselves, or I could use an image type button, but I'd really like to figure out how to get these existing styles to work for me since the theme already has so many of them done for me.
    Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    Save yourself a lot of trouble and style the normal submit button as per

  • How to disable submit more than once?

    Hi,
    I have a form with a huge number of fields and validations on their validate event.
    The form has a submit button with the following routine:
    myDoc.submitForm(
         cURL: URL,
         cSubmitAs: "PDF"
    My goal is that the user will be able to submit the form only once.
    If I hide the submit button after this script there is a chance that one of the fields not pass the validation, the button disappear and user is not able to submit any more.
    Otherwise nothing avoid from the user to submit the form multiple times.
    Anyone has an idea?

    here you can use
    if()
    else if()
    else if()
    else
      write code that you want to execute in last.
    Untill top conditions are not satisfied, code below that condition will not be executed. So no need to disable submit button because when user will click on submit button it will check all the condition from top.
    Thanks
