Customization role in jdeveloper

I have been trying to customize the taskflows as per the guide(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_taskflows.htm#BACDDBII)
i am not able to edit the requied library files eventhough i have opened the jdevloper in customization role
Please guide how can i edit the reuired file in jdeveloper

you can follow the links-
Customizing Announcemet task flow in webcenter ps3
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/owcs-ps1-custom-taskflow-wp-129410.pdf
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/owcs-r11-custom-taskflow-wp-129672.pdf
even if ,you have done all the steps ,sometimes some fields are hidden in nature.
For that ,in properties window -Label value will be hidden (for example).then what you need to do is -
Go to exrpession builder for particular component (here label value) and do the necessary modifications.
Hope it will help you.

  • Customizing roles in Jdeveloper

    Hi,
I want to create a custom role in Jdeveloper such a way that updates of extensions are disabled in the IDE when that particular role is chosen . Is this possible?
I found the default roles under C:\OracleSW\jdev12c\jdeveloper\jdev\roles ,but could not find any documentation stating my requirement.
I am using jdev 12c latest versions.
    Thanks,
    Sam

Nevermind. Its in the roles option on preferences.

  • Mass generation of profiles of customize role in sap

    Dear All,
I am unable to generate mass profile for customize roles in SUPC.After pressing Generate button its showing "Choose at least One role".

A brave route is to delete the profiles on mass and then mass regenerate. You can even do this in PROD to improve transport performance, but you must be sure that SU24 is perfect.
But as mentioned before, you have to be very sure about what is going to happen and who is changing roles, otherwise all hell breaks loose.
Opening roles in "Edit old status" and then transporting them as a habit in role maintenance is not a good symptom to use this approach - as an example.
If you have used SU24 and do keep the role proposals intact, then it works very nicely and you can upgrade all your roles in about 1 day - max 1 week.
If you want to do a lot of checks against historic Excel lists and manual regression testing (with manual / changed authorizations which are divorced from the menus) then you are looking at between 1 month and forever to upgrade the roles...
For me, the concept of "forever maintenance" means start over from scratch in the design.
    Cheers,

  • JDev hangs when opening a file in customization role

    Using JDev PS5.
when I open JDev in default role, everything works fine.
When i open JDev in customization role everything seems to work fine at first but when I double click on a file to open it, JDev just hangs. It mostly happens when I try to open a taskflow definition. JSF fragements sometimes work, sometimes don't...
It's quite difficult for me to work because I work a lot with WebCenter and I have to customize a lot of taskflows...
I tried uninstalling JDev and installing it again... Didn't work.
I don't have a clue how to solve this...

    Just as a reference...
This is a known bug in JDev with the WebCenter extensions and has been resolved in patch 13948973.

  • Migrate ORACLE ROLES to JDEVELOPER

    JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0
We need to migrate an ORACLE Forms application to ADF. Currently in our forms app, we are using Oracle User logins created in ORACLE( It is not from any table. The user id and Role is in the ORACLE itself). And this login detail is used to connect to the DB. We also have our triggers already set in the DB to update certain columns with Logged in USER ID. But in ADF we can connect to the DB only with one same Connection, though we have different users and roles at application level. So we have the following questions
    1) Can we import the ORACLE Userids and Roles to JDeveloper
    2) How to make a dynamic connection to the DB based on each user login
    Edited by: 966247 on Nov 16, 2012 2:02 AM

To retrieve users and roles, configure ReadOnlySQLAuthenticator on WLS.
To authenticate as db user, try to create proxy user in oracle db, something like this:

  • Customize roles in ciscoworks

Hello, is it possible to customize user roles or rights in CW?
For example when I create a new user, I have a choice of the following pre determined roles:
    -helpdesk
    -approver
    -Network operator
    -network administrator
    -system admin
    -export data
So is it possible to create customs one that would only give access to what I choose?
    thanks

If you are using CiscoWorks in Local mode then you cannot customize these roles. If you want to customize and be more specific with permissions you will want to integrate CiscoWorks LMS with ACS. This will allow you to create more custom roles and privileges.

  • System Designer Role in Jdeveloper (ADF)

    Hi,
I would like to know how Oracle recommends on doing a detailed design of an ADF application. Let's say you have the requirements and use cases of the application, and you are asked to do the detail design knowing that you are going to use JSF and ADF BC (notice I am saying BC: Toplink in our case is not an option).
First thing that comes into my mind is to do UML class diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc and then give that to the developers as the starting point for implementation. But will these diagrams be of use, given the fact that ADF is mostly declarative / wizard based – how are these diagrams later on synchronized with what you develop in Jdeveloper ?
I think that Oracle should already have resolved this issue since next generation of Oracle Applications is being built over ADF BC (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/guidesandstacks/index.html).
I can't imagine a project of that size being built without design (and backing methodology).
However I didn't find any tutorial showing this approach - all tutorials just show RAD development techniques based on Wizards.
What are your thoughts / experiences ?
    Thanks,
    Claudio.

  • Can you add a new managed bean when customizing taskflows?

    Hi,
I see post on how to customize taskflows and most of the customization involves rendering changes such as showing/hiding parts of the page..
But I was thinking is it possible to create your own managed bean in Customization Role of JDeveloper?
I notice that when I right click some package, the New option is disabled by default? Does this mean that customization is limited to changing
only the UI/JSFF file? The documentation does not mention about this or it maybe that I could not find it.
What I would like is that, the new managed bean I define in my Customization Role will drive the UI.
Anybody has done customization at this level? Would like to know your thoughts please.
Is this possible or should I point my thinking in the other directions?
    Thanks.
This is a Webcenter Portal Application by the way and I am looking into customizing an existing taskflow thru MDS means.
    Webcenter 11G PS5

You cannot add a new managed bean via customization. Instead, these may be deployed as ADF Library jars within a shared library or as part of the Portal war.
Once a managed bean has been added as above, then it can be referenced within a taskflow customization. For e.g. you can add a new button with the action set to a method in the managed bean.

  • How to Test Design Time Fusion Customizations in JDeveloper

    Hi
When we look at the wording and the diagram in the Oracle documentation, it says -
"After you create these customizations, you can test them locally in JDeveloper and then deploy them directly into the full test environment. You can also deploy your customizations to a sandbox."
    2.1.2 Design Time Customization Workflow
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28271_01/fusionapps.1111/e16691/ext_lifecycle.htm#CHDIJJJJ
But the message in this OTN forum we are getting is that we have to deploy it to the server and cannot be tested out locally.
Could someone please clarify. The ability to test it out locally would be of tremendous help to us in reducing the development lifecycle.
    Thanks
    Srinivasa Sunchu

Sorry for the long delay. Response from the colleague:
    >
For SOA Jdev customizations there is nothing which can be tested locally in Jdev. The customized composite would need to be deployed to a standalone environment to test.
    >
For other DT customizations i.e. customizations created in JDeveloper for ADF can be tested locally on integrated WLS. RT customizations created using composers require a deployed environment; the the customized definitions can be tested in sandboxes from which they can be published into production.

  • JDeveloper 12.1.3.0 - Can't associate role to user

    Hello,
I'm not able to associate WebLogic users to roles in JDeveloper. In a BPM project I created some roles in the current organization and I want to associate users to them. By double-clicking on one role I'm opening the Edit Role dialog. Here I select "User" in the Role Escalation list-box and I click on the magnifying glass on the right. The Identity Lookup dialog opens. In the application server I select my current WebLogic 12c application server which is running locally. A dialog box containing the following error message is displayed:
The server exception is: Connection refused from server.
However, I can browse the server in the Palette. It is not the default domain but a compact domain that I created with the Configuration Wizard.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Nicolas

I'm sorry, I think it didn't got to me what that meant. Don't have to be sarcastic or something. Trying to help you out here, since it's been a few days that you posted it. Checking things to be sure.
I found that it occurs that I could not query users from the realm, while I was in the impression that my server was running.
You could check things like hostname (sometimes localhost just doesn't work). I've no further ideas at the moment.

  • Can I include a bean inside a customization project?

    Hi,
I am customizing out-of-the-box Profile (.jsff) pages. I'll have to create a bean which will get binary data from Oracle. I have a project to customize the Profile pages. Can I include the bean inside the project? Or, should I create a separate project, and have the pages referenced to the bean class. How should I go for that?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,
For now, you can change any attributes on user's profile page like department and etc. What's about if I want to create a dynamic drop-down department list for a user to pick? The department list will be generated from a database source. In jdeveloper, you can have various roles. I'm switching back and forth between 'default' and 'customization' roles. In the default role, I'm going to create a javabean to create the dynamic department list. In customization role, I customize the 'look and feel' of the profile page. This is kind of pain in the neck. Am I going to a wrong direction? Is there anyway of getting the work done without switching.
Secondly, on the profile page, I use EL to reference an attribute in a javabean. But, when I load the page, it errors out.

  • How to customize my application

I'm newbie to the application customization using Jdeveloper.
I've opened my application using jdeveloper with "Customization" role.
on certain jsff and jspx pages, I was able to do customization by drag and drop component into the page, or I was able to modify something through the "Property Inspector" panel.
However, I'm not able to do the following:
-- directly edit the jsff source view, e.g. modify or insert element. the source view looks disabled for editing
-- I have an XML document which is in the "application source" that along with some java code. this is not a jsff or jsp page. this document is disabled for editing too. I'm even not able to edit it by dragging/drop/updating through "Property Inspector" panel. is it true that this xml document not customizable?
    Thanks

The customization role is only used for applying MDS customization. In this role you cannot change your base application outside of MDS. You'll need to select a different role for regular development, including modifying xml documents.

  • Web Composer Admin Customization:'Authorization check failed' error

    Hi,
The purpose of Web Composer Admin Customization is to enable the administration link in the UI pages so that the administrator will be able to customize the pages.
The steps to be followed to enable admin customization in the required pages are given in the following link under the subheading 'Web Composer Admin Customization':
    https://stbeehive.oracle.com/teamcollab/wiki/Fusion+Applications+Technical+Architecture:Enabling+Customizations
    I ensured that:
The jazn-data.xml file has a privilege role "FND_VIEW_ADMIN_LINK_PRIV", and a grant to access the admin menu.
A duty role "FND_ADMINISTRATION_LINK_VIEW_DUTY" had been defined, and was a member of FND_VIEW_ADMIN_LINK_PRIV.
The FND_ADMINISTRATION_LINK_VIEW_DUTY is inherited by the administrator enterprise role.
A new privilege role (Customize <Family> UI) had been created.
I then granted the 'customize' and 'personalize' actions on the pages and the corresponding task flows (for which customization had to be enabled) to the new privilege role.
    Also, ensured that:
A new app role (Customize <Family> UI) was created and was a member of the new privilege role. The app role was inherited by the administrator enterprise role.
The testing administrator role has both the administrator enterprise role and the enterprise role that has view access to the page.
Now, when i tried to run one of the pages (for which customize and personalize actions were granted to the new privilege role) from JDeveloper, i got the following error:

  • Cannot open customize OAF screen after upgrade to 12.1.3

    Hi,
After upgrade to 12.1.3, I am not able top open customize OAF screens from Applications.
By following some documents from MOS, I have done the following.
1)-applied patch 9879989 on Linux server.
2)-I am able to install JDeveloper, open and compile my customize programs from JDeveloper installed on Linux server. I compilation, new *.jpx files created from *.jpr
From Oracle Applications, I am getting the same error that I was getting without compiling customize program.
My question is that, how Oracle applications will read the new compiled program. Do all program need to be in specific unix directory ?
I copied all the customized program under " /u01/oracle/jdev_install_dir/jdevhome/jdev/myprojects" .
I think the problem is now to place OAF files in the problem directory, which I don't know.
Do I need to set environment variable like JDEV_USER_HOME in the environment file ?
    Please help.
    Best Regards

Not sure if your issue is resolved. Did you compile the java sources in JDeveloper and moved all files from myclasses folder to unix under $JAVA_TOP or appropriate directory and deployed the PG files using xmlimporter?
    Thanks
