Customize error message for type conversion

Hi,
<h:inputText value=....>
<f:validateDoubleRange />
</h:inputText>
I try to customize the error message if the value can't be converted to double, but i keep getting the default.
I have this in my properties file
javax.faces.validator.DoubleRangeValidator.TYPE=Not a valid number.
I can change the other properties like minimum and maximum, but not type. Can someone help me figure this out?

Hi,
You are on the right track of customising the error messages, however I will have it tested and let you know the results on the JSP's. "Unknown Type of..." error occurs when the webconnector is unable to resolve the URL. This can be like, the file may not be present etc. One way is to provide the fullname of the file along with the URL and check if the app server is able to hit the page. Incase you still experience the error then we can investigate further on this by looking at the KXS and KJS log files.

I have an apploication using JDEV 10.1.3.3 and ADF BC.
In my applcation I'm overriding the default error messages on violation of constraints by using a custom message bundle .
I did all the things specified in Oracle® ADF Developer's Guide
Chapter 25.8 Customizing Business Components Error Messages .
IT is working fine
My problem is along with the userdefined custom messge in the bundle
another default message is showing which is nothing meaningful to the
end user.
For Ex: for an Uniqiue constraint the following error message comes
Error
1 .The Usercode should be unique!!!
2 .ORA-00001: unique constraint (MYDB.USERCODEUNIQUE) violated
ORA-06512: at line 1
The first line is defined by me.the second one is added automatically.
I want to prevent showing the error no 2 for all DB constraint violations
Is there any method to do it.I think I'm missing someting
Please help me.This is very annoying to the end user.

Custom Error Messages for Database Constraint Violations Problem

I have added a custom message bundle for the model project as explained in
37.8.3 in the Fusion Developer's Guide - How to customize error messages for database constraint violations.

And I have following CustomErrorMessages class

Still it gives the message
ORA-00001: unique constraint (CCBS2.SYS_C0018574) violatedCould you please shed some light?

I get an error message for publication type

I am using itunes producer to load a book. An error message for "publication type" appears when I get to deliver content area. I am unable to fill in that category box when I go back to that particular screen. The drop down box there shows a check mark that will disappears immediately when clicked on. I know that "digital only" or "new release" needs to be put into that box, but am unable to get any other choices for the box and can not download the book due to error message. I did enter a price in the pricing box.

How to Customize Error message in JXL

Hi All,
I want to customize error message in JXL. I.e. When we apply number validation to a cell and if you enter invalid data MS-Excel shows error message saying that "The value you entered is not valid". But I want to customize this message to "Data should be a decimal number". Can anyone help me how to acheive it. Thanks in Advance.

And, I found a way to achieve my requirement in a declarative way.
I just created an entity validator on EmployeeEO.
- Rule_Type: Key Exists
- Rule Definition:
- Validation Target Type: Entity Object
- Association Name : <Select Assiociation created > "EmpDeptFK"
- Failure Handling:
- Error Message: "Invalid Deparment ID {0} Entered. Please enter a valid Department ID."
- Message Token for "0": Department ID
And It fulfilled my requirement.

How to prevent error message for material description in MDG material detail screen, when user click on check action

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement for making material description as non mandetory in change request view of mdg material screen.
I have done that using field usage in get data method of feeder classes, but still message is displaying.
This message 'Material description is mandatory is displaying with check action only, but not with save or submit after i anhance field property as not mandetory.
How to prevent error message for material description in MDG material detail screen, when user click on check action.

Hello Sukumar
In IMG activity "Configure Properties of Change Request Step", you can completely deactivate the reuse area checks (but will then loose all other checks of the backend business logic as well).
You can also set the error severity of the checks from Error to Warning (per CR type, not per check).
Or you provide a default value for the material description, e.g. by implementing the BAdI USMD_RULE_SERVICE.

We have a error message for back end service entry creation in the Application monitor for Confirmations.
There is no outbound or Inbound Idoc found with error.
From this error message how can we found the PO Number or Confirmation number to check whether the confirmation is posted or not?

error : There is no outbound or Inbound Idoc found with error
You have not created the IDoc for the outbound Idoc for the confirmation to take to the backend.
Create the Message type and partner profile in WE20
Create Distribution model in SRM -T.code :BD 64
we found the PO Number or Confirmation number to check whether the confirmation is posted or not
Soln: Check in confirmation in display/process confirmation in SRM enter the timeframe
(or) check in R/3 in ME23N by putting the Purchase order no and check the goods receipt

Hello,
I have sceanrio where file->Synchronus bapi ->File.
For this I have defined a bpm.
Text file inut will be read and converted using sender FCC.
Bpm will call a synchronus bapi from r/3 and collect response. I need to create a success or error response file from the status of bapi response. I have used switch step to do that.
But here when I give condtion as this XPath SOResonse./p1:Z_BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROM3.Response/RETURN1/TYPE = S, SXI_CACHE gives status of bpm as 99 and error message is 'TYPE' is not a component of data object 'PAYLOAD'.
At the same time if i just put a condition of simple type container variable (SuccessCounter = 0), it gives status 0 in SXI_CACHE.
Pl can anyone suggest on this as its urgent.

Display error messages for each material

Hi All,
I am using a BAPI which gives errors in return table.I am executing this BAPI for several materials in a LOOP.I need to display the error messages for each of these materials as shown below:

What is the best way to display this?Also plz let me know how to use REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY?

Error message for Leave request (Related to some Old Question)

Hi Experts, 
 
We are facing an Error when only 1 employee in the company opens his Leave request page, the same page is working for others perfectly. 
 
this Error is the same as the one in the below posts: 
 
1. Link: Re: Error message for Leave request 
 
and I tried going through their solutions such as: 
 
1. Please check if you have the leave config done on ECC side under Personnel Management --> Employee Self services --> Service Specific settings --> Working time --> Leave request . 
2. At the least you should have assign the default rule to your PSG to the standard leave type given. Otherwise create your own rule groups and Specify Processing processes for type of leave set up. 
3. explicitly activate WEBMO Feature although it was activated 
 
But the Error is still coming for this specific Employee, even though his Vacation Quota is created and available for deduction. 
 
Please Help me in solving this issue.

Dear all,
I want to pop up the error message for the condition like if Open PR is available for the material and user once again indenting the same then user gets error message like Open PR available for material. Is it possible ?
and,
one more help If stock is available for the material even also user indenting the material then my requirement is how to stop this process. can i start any warning or error MSG for the same ? if yes then how ? please guide its urgent.

Better to implement MRP run process in your Organization.
System will always check OPEN PRs,Open POs, Stock pending in system and will not allow to generate a PR if open qty available in system. Define minimum and Max qty in material master and activate MRP type.

Customised Error Message for ESS-MSS Applications

Hello All,
Currently, if there are any errors in the ESS/MSS transactions, we get the 503 error with lot of irrelevant data to the users. We have a basic html page which says, "There is a issue-Please contact XXXX".
Is there a way to replace the standard error message with this html page ?
PS: I am not talkign about the "Dispatcher Running" or "Application Stopped" messages, Please do not point me again to SAP Help website which doesn't answer my query. THIS IS ABOUT REPLACING THE STANDARD ERROR MESSAGES FOR ESS/MSS APPLICATIONS.

Let me clarify the difference between ESS and MSS errors and JAVA stack errors
A "503 Service not available" is not an ESS or MSS error - this is the thrown by the stack (possibly while navigating
in ESS or MSS)
The only information I have available in the case of java stack errors is to follow

Lastly you can also decide to hide the stack trace as per KBA 1596212
To modify an ESS or MSS message this may require modification to front and back-end HCM application - usually
ESS gets error information based on back-end errors example "fill in all required fields"

Error messages are displayed for Select-options mostly on two conditions:
1) You needs to check wether a value is entered or not its done by:
a)
Select-options:SELECT-OPTIONS: s_fevor FOR afko-fevor Obligatory.
   In this case error message is automatically throwed by system.
b) You can do this in Selection Screen events.
Ex:
AT SELECTION-SCREEN./AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON S_FEVOR.
IF S_FEVOR-LOW IS INITIAL.
MESSAGE 'XXXXX' TYPE 'E'.
ENDIF.
2) You need to Validate the entered value:
You can do this in Selection Screen events.
Ex:
