Customize search page results

Hi,
how i can customize the search page results??
or how i would develop my own search page results?
regards,
Edgar

In 3.0.9 it is now possible to customize search page, this was not possible in previous versions.
- Just go to the administrative page in portal (portal30).
- And select the Search Result Page from the page portlet (click on edit).
Note:
- Do not delete this page at all, because in some cases you still get rerouted to this page (although you have set the search settings).

  • Customize search page - limit or preset source group selection

    I would like to use my SES for two completely different groups of sources.
    Users will search either in source/group A or in source/group B. But they will never search in both A and B.
    The best would be to have two different search pages, one for A and second for B only.
    Is there a way how to customize a search page to search aways in one source/group of sources?
    Or is there a way, how to preset some source group? So that user does not have always to click Browse and choose the group?
    Thank you,
    Lukas

    Any update?
    Thanks!

  • Issue with File Download(messageDownload) on Search Page.

    Hi,
    I created a custom OAF search page which fetches values from one table. The document in getting stored in my custom table in a BLOB colums and NOT in FND_LOBS.
    The table has 3 collumns along with others:
    1st is primary key (Record_Seq) ==> number data type
    2nd to store actual file name (File1Name) ==> varcahar2 data type
    3rd to store the actual uploaded data (File1Data) ==> BLOB data type
    The reason for having the “File1Name” is so that I can display the original file name of the document that was uploaded, instead of just the “view” in the search page results .
    On the File1Data BLOB and created a messageDownload for that under query results table with following details:
    ID : File1Data
    ItemStyle : messageDownload
    FileMIME Type : pdf
    Datatype : BLOB
    View Instance : LacEmpExposureVO1
    view Attribute : File1Name
    File View Attribute : File1Data
    When I click on the "File1Name" data hyperlink, it is opening only the first document corresponding to the first record in the search page results.
    For example, If my search page returns 10 rows then when I click on the file1name on any row, It is open the first row file name only.
    I have a primary key column(RECORD_SEQ) in the Table / EO / VO which is displayed in the search page results.
    Also one weird thing is happening:
    If I try to do this more than 2 times then it is opening the update page with the first record from the search page results…
    I tried to print the context and it is nul the first time, But the second time then context is changing to "update". Dont know how this is happening????
    Any advice is greatly appreciated as it is very crucial for me to get this resolved ASAP. I have looked at several forums and did a lot of things as advised in the forums . But nothing seems to work for me.
    Thanks,
    Mir

  • How to control selected row in result table on a search page?

    Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0
    I have attempted to create an ADF page that contains a search and result table in the same page.
    I have questions related to the result table. Let's say the result table shows 10 rows per page.
    If I page forward there is no default selected row "clicked" on the page. Only if you return to
    the very first 10 rows do you see a default selection in row number one of the results.
    How would I go about making the first row of each page the default selection?

    You'll need to code this into the RangeChangeEvent event of the table.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/apidocs/oracle/adf/view/faces/component/core/data/CoreTable.html
    That said - I'm not sure this will be very helpful for the end user - after all in any case they'll need to first select a row before doing an operation on it.

    Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
    If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Search Page by date field not showing up results

    Hi,
    I am using Jdev 11g and new to adf.
    My applciation needs a search page based on a date field.
    I created a viewcriteria for the object which expects a date field from the user.( the bind variable is of type Date)
    After this i dragged the viewcriteria as af:query (panel with table) on the jspx page.
    Now when i run the application, that is when i enter the date (calendar autogenerated by query component),
    it does not show up any results.
    My date field in the database has a timestamp attached to it, somewhere i read that the timestamp may be causing the problem.
    But i have not found any solution for this one.
    This looks very basic to me, i am sure i am missing soemthing important.
    Besides i even tried the approach of programmaticlly populating the Viewobject(by not using the any query component),
    i can see the Viewobject being populated in the logs( the row count) but on the display page, no rows are shown.
    I am sure i am doing something wrong for this one.
          AppModuleImpl am = this.getAm();
           ViewObject submittalVO = am.findViewObject("AcrSubmittallogView1");
           System.out.println("after getting VO");
           String subDate = this.getSubDate().getValue().toString();
           String query = " to_char(SubmitDtTm,'mm/dd/yyyy') = '"+subDate+"'";
           submittalVO.setWhereClause(query);
           System.out.println("QUERY>>>> "+submittalVO.getQuery());
           submittalVO.executeQuery();
          System.out.println("after executing query "+submittalVO.getRowCount());
           this.setRenderLogTable(true);But i actually want to use the built in query component instead of programmatically doing it.
    Can someone please guide me further.
    Any help will be grt.
    Thanks in advance

    Still not working for me either, here's exactly what I'm doing.
    My query is as follows:
    SELECT
    RO.repair_line_id,
    RO.repair_number,
    SR.customer_po_number, segment1,
    trunc(RO.creation_date) as creation_date,
    I've created a Bind Variable for the creation_date as follows:
    <Variable
    Name="createDate"
    Kind="viewcriteria"
    Type="oracle.jbo.domain.Date"/>
    Which is linked to a view criteria:
    <ViewCriteria
    Name="RepairSearchVVOCriteria"
    ViewObjectName="com.services.cs.vvo.RepairSearchVVO"
    Conjunction="AND">
    <Properties>
    <CustomProperties>
    <Property
    Name="displayOperators"
    Value="InAdvancedMode"/>
    <Property
    Name="autoExecute"
    Value="false"/>
    <Property
    Name="allowConjunctionOverride"
    Value="true"/>
    <Property
    Name="showInList"
    Value="true"/>
    <Property
    Name="mode"
    Value="Basic"/>
    </CustomProperties>
    </Properties>
    <ViewCriteriaRow
    Name="vcrow1"
    UpperColumns="1">
    <ViewCriteriaItem
    Name="CreationDate"
    ViewAttribute="CreationDate"
    Operator="="
    Conjunction="AND"
    Value=":createDate"
    IsBindVarValue="true"
    Required="Optional"/>
    </ViewCriteriaRow>
    </ViewCriteria>
    I then dragged the criteria into the page. When running it I get the following:
    AND SR.customer_id =:psCustomerId) QRSLT WHERE ( ( (CREATION_DATE = :createDate ) ) )
    <ViewObjectImpl><bindParametersForCollection> [3510] Bind params for ViewObject: [com.xxx.services.cs.vvo.RepairSearchVVO]RepairSearchAM.RepairSearchVVO1
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl><bindParamValue> [3511] Binding param "psCustomerId": 34758
    <OracleSQLBuilderImpl><bindParamValue> [3512] Binding param "createDate": 2010-02-18
    Which never brings back any data. My date's look as follows in the database:
    '18-FEB-10'
    I never get any results for the date. I've also tried using the to_char to format the date as the same format, but that always gives a variety of errors. This is driving me batty =0 Any ideas on why it never pulls back data?
    Thanks, Graeme.

  • UIX - Showing search page with no results as default

    I modified the uix page to create a search page for a simple uix page according to the code give in the forum.
    But this shows initially with results.
    I want the results to be shown only when a search condition is given.

    What u have said was exactly mentioned as a solution when I had searched the Forum.
    Ok these were the steps I followed:-
    1. A uix data page created (datapage1.uix) in Struts pagelayout.
    2. Drag and Drop EmployeesView1 from datacontrol pallete.
    3. Added the rendered property for the table in the source code.
    <table rendered="${requestScope.showResults?true:false}" model="${bindings.EmployeesView1}" id="EmployeesView10" partialRenderMode="multiple" partialTargets="_uixState">
    4. Then drag and drop textinput from component pallete for the search value and named it value
    5. Drag and drop a submit button from componet pallete and named it Query also named an event query.
    6. In the handeler for this event i added a go
    7. also added a set in the source code for the handeler
    <event name="query">
    <compound>
    <set target="requestScope" property="showResults" value="${true}"/>
    <go name="query"/>
    </compound>
    </event>
    8. Added a DataAction to which i added my method that was exposed to the client. The code for the method is :
    public final void setCondition(String p_cond)
    ViewObject empvo = findViewObject("EmployeesView1");
         //Creating a Where clause for the query
    String whereclause = "LAST_NAME like '%"+ p_cond +"%'";
    empvo.setWhereClause(whereclause);
    empvo.executeQuery();
    9. then I set the parameter value property in the stuts structure panel for the action top ${param.value}
    10. When I run this page from struts pagelayout The initial display is only the testinput field and the button. After I feed the value and hit the button. The screen just blinks thats it. but no results shown.
    Could some one tell me where have I gone wrong?
    Need help! Urgent

  • Saving the result set in a Search page

    Hi ,
    We have a manual search page where the results are displayed in the form of 10 columns. The first 5 are read only fields whereas rest 5 are editable checkboxes.
    There is no Query region created in our page.
    Suppose, fields a, b, c are search parameters and the results are as :
    | A | B | C| D |E | F | G | H | I | J |
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    7 records are retrieved. Columns A to E are read only text fields whereas columns F to J are check boxes. The user can update the checkboxes.  We have a Save button below the result set region. This button on being pressed invokes a stored PL/SQL Procedure which does some validations on the result set so obtained.
    Our requirement is to dump all the 7 records (after the modifications are made to any number of result records) into a temporary table . The procedure will then pick the records from this temporary table and do the required validations.
    Question is :
    1. How to store the result set so obtained into a table after some (or all) records are modified once Save is pressed ?
    We do not have any EO created in our page. The VO for obtaining the Result set is a combination of many tables.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Neha

    If an object is null while you want to access it, then a NPE would be thrown. Check the line of the cause which objects could be null and fix it accordingly.

    You can use frontend plus to decompile the classes to see what api are there.Istore API guide is not sufficient for develpment and that is totally based on 11.5.7.They have not included newly added api.You don't need Jdeveloper to customize istore jsp page.If you want any help in istore customization write me on [email protected]

    where can I adjust this option ?? I tried in IE, the search way is normal as in past..
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    I believe this to be a browser issue, not a google search results issue, and here is why:
    having updated Firefox only yesterday, I visited google images searching for pancakes.... interestingly, I have the NEW image results (yuck) on Firefox 3.6.8, I have the OLD image results on IE8 and Opera 10.53.
    When I use the 'switch to basic version' in Firefox 3.6.8, indeed it DOES revert to the new format next time I image search (in Firefox).
    For those of us who prefer the OLD image results page, I guess we will just have to switch browsers for google image search.
    Now I'm off to research how to get rid of the UGLY FFox sidebar.

  • How to customize search in WS 7 and for multiple virtual servers?

    I'm not clear on how to customize search results pages in Sun Web Server 7. The documentation (the Adminstrator's Guide, page 215) says:
    You can take a look at the default search application located at /bin/https/webapps/search as a sample application
    but I'm not seeing any such thing. I did a find . -name search -type d from the server root and instance root but the only search directories I'm seeing are subdirectories within the generated directory and they look like system generated jsps that I shouldn't touch (So I didn't :-)
    So one question is, where is the default app? A second question is, how do we set up different branding for different virtual servers?
    We're currently using WS 6.1 and it has a field in the GUI for the directory containing the web app to use for search. That seems to have disappeared in WS 7.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Dave

    I don't use the search engine, so I'm afriad I don't have direct experience here.
    What I'd probably do is modify the app so that it looks at the Host data to determine which directory it should point to for graphics, formatting, etc. You could also use the obj.conf with variables to pull graphics from directories appropriately branded. Something like:
    1) Create "additional doc directory" for images
    2) Find the entry in the obj.conf that points to the new directory
    3) Modify the path to something like /path/to/$host/images
    4) Make sure you create directories like:
    /path/to/foobar.com/images/
    /path/to/www.foobar.com/images/
    /path/to/baz.com/images/
    /path/to/www.baz.com/images/

  • Seeded Search Page ( PO History ) Addding new Criteria columns

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement wherein i need to customize PO History Search Page to add 2 new columns Supplier Name and Supplier Site as criteria. I was able to extend the Results VO but how do i proceed with adding new columns in the criteria region. Please provide me the steps.
    also, somewhere i read in this forum if the construction mode for the query region is autocuztomization criteria then we cannot customize the seeded page. please do provide me an alternative
    Thanks,
    Rajesh Khatri

    Hi Ramkumar,
    I am doing the following steps to run the seeded page PosRevisionHistoryPG ( Under Purchasing :-
    1) copied entire pos folder ( $java_top/oracle/apps/pos ) under java_top to my local machine.
    So my local machine has the foll directory structure
    jdev_home/myclasses/oracle/pos and jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos
    2) added jdev_home/myclasses/oracle/pos to my classpath.
    3) Created a new empty OA Project. ( name - rkposchng.jpr , default package - > rkposchng.oracle.apps.pos )
    4) Created a new empty Business Component Package under rkposchng.oracle.apps.pos
    5) Imported the server.xml to my project from jdevphome/myprojects/oracle/apps/pos/changeorder/server.xml
    6) Imported PosRevisionHistoryPG.xml ( seeded) to my project. This file was not there under java_top. I had all PG , RN ( xml files) file
    from $POS_TOP/mds/changeorder/webui and copied under jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos and jdev_home/myprojects/oracle/pos/changeorder/webui
    7) Ran the page from jdeveloper and its not returning any rows. On running i received 71 warnings and 0 errors.
    From the above you can see that i am not changing anything but still no rows are returned.
    Do i need to import any more files in step 5. I am not getting any clue what is the problem.
