Customized BPR load to Solution Manager

Hi
We are trying to upload self built industry solution BPR into the solution manager system. One generic which we built, next one is we filtered as per client requirement.
After loading we want to use these 2 BPR alongwith SAP BPR. Do we see any impact due to using these 3 BPR for same project?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
1.Refer to SAP notes from the following link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/3e/9f9a7b95c811d384bb0060975b04f3/content.htm
2.Dowload the language from SMP
3.Execute Report RSCPINST and add new language
4.Update the parameter zcsa/installaed_languages with new language with rz10
5.Finally continue with SMLT.
Hope this helps.

    Hi,
I have created Customer Attributes in SAP Solution Manager, SPRO--> SAP Solution Manager-->Capabilities-->Implementation/Upgrade-->Blueprint and Configuration-->Object Attributes--> Definition of Customer Attributes for Object Types. I have assigned the Customer Attributes for Project/Solution.
Now I have the attribute in the project nodes but I can't enter Attribute Values. How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Andrea,
Have you already tried to use SMSY to generate the "Back" Destination from customer system to your SolMan?
Once you have selected the customer system in SMSY, you are able to use the RFC connection wizard.
Alternatively, you can define the RFC destination manually.
For easier tracking and trouble shooting, I would recommend to setup a communication user in your SolMan for each individual connected managed customer system.
Assign the appropiate profiles to the user in your SolMan system and create the RFC destination in the managed customer system.

  • Questions in Solution manager

    Hello friends,
Can any one answer these questions
SAP Solution Manager Overview Key points
    -       Scope of Solution Managers capabilities
    -       Work required to implement and configure Solution Manager – i.e. how much is out of box vs. customer/implementation specific?
    -       How it can be customized
    -       Reports / metrics that solution manager offers
    Thanks

    Hello,
what is Solution Manager? A platform that provides integrated content, tools and methodologies for implementing, supporting, monitoring, upgrading and operating your enterprise SAP solutions.
My recommendation would be, if you have a chance to attend any of the SAP Solution Manager Seminars www.sapsolutionmanagerseminar.com/ would be the best to do. I am just back from the Amsterdam session. I have mainly worked in SAP Solution Manager projects, but still learned a few things even in areas I have been involved in.
Can you use SAP Solution Manager out of the box without any customizing? No. You need to execute basic customizing and maintain your landsape at the minimum.
For example you have to maintain your landscape. Generate RFC connections, setup up monitoring if required. Configure EWA reports if needed. Service Desk and Change Request Management would be large configurations. There are some reports you can use.
How can it be customized? Check out in transaction SPRO to get some idea, but not everything is in there covered you still need to configure.
There is a SAP Solution Manager book published since this year.
    Regards,
    Markus

  • Re:Solution Manager

    what is solution manager?

    Hi,
SAP Solution Manager is a centralized, robust solution management toolset that facilitates technical support for distributed systems -- with functionality that covers all key aspects of solution deployment, operation, and continuous improvement. It combines tools, content, and direct access to SAP to increase the reliability of solutions and lower total cost of ownership.
With SAP Solution Manager, you can be sure your entire SAP solution environment is performing at its maximum potential. The toolset addresses your entire IT environment, supporting SAP and non-SAP software and covering current and forthcoming SAP solutions. As part of SAP NetWeaver, SAP Solution Manager is included in the annual maintenance fee for SAP solutions.
SAP Solution Manager targets both technical and business aspects of your solutions, focusing strongly on core business processes. It supports the connection between business processes and the underlying IT infrastructure. As a result, it eases communication between your IT department and your lines of business. And it ensures that you derive the maximum benefits from your IT investments.
SAP Solution Manager features and functions include:
mySAP Business Suite implementation -- SAP Solution Manager provides content that accelerates implementation. Configuration information and a process-driven approach to implementation speed the blueprint, configuration, and final preparation phases. SAP Solution Manager enables efficient project administration and centralized control of cross-component implementations.
Global rollout -- The toolset eases process standardization and harmonization across organizations and locations by providing proven methodologies and all necessary functionality. You can more easily implement standardized settings at local sites, because configuration settings needn't be re-entered into local components.
Synchronization of custom settings -- With SAP Solution Manager, you can maintain consistency as you customize your heterogeneous IT environment. It enables safer administration of customization, less error-prone replication of custom settings, and simpler consistency checks. SAP Solution Manager reduces manual synchronization efforts by automatically distributing custom settings to various systems simultaneously, and by centrally managing all requests to synchronize settings.
Testing -- SAP Solution Manager speeds test preparation and execution. It provides a single point of access to the complete system landscape and enables centralized storage of testing material and test results to support cross-component tests.
IT and application support -- The support desk included in SAP Solution Manager helps you manage incidents more efficiently and eases the settlement of support costs. Centralized handling of support messages makes the support organization more efficient.
Solution monitoring -- SAP Solution Manager performs centralized, real-time monitoring of systems, business processes, and interfaces, which reduces administration effort. It can even monitor intersystem dependencies. Proactive monitoring helps you avoid critical situations, while automatic notifications enable fast response to issues.
Service-level management and reporting -- SAP Solution Manager allows easy definition of service levels and provides automated reporting. Service reporting covers all systems in the solution landscape and provides a consolidated report containing the information you need to make strategic IT decisions.
Service processing -- SAP Solution Manager makes appropriate service recommendations and delivers SAP support services. These include SAP Safeguarding, which helps you manage technical risk; SAP Solution Management Optimization, which helps you get the most from your SAP solutions; and SAP Empowering, which helps you manage your solutions.

  • Business Process Modeling in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi.
Even ther an Solution Manager space, i wish to get some opinion related to Business process Modeling.
We are working in an upgrade project. R/3 4.6 C to ECC 6.0. The customer decide to use Solution manager to map their process, based on the transactions of the new version.
    Company Business Process:
    1.Based on ISO standards.
    2.By product line
3.The process are defined using an structure with 4 Levels: Macro Process, Business scenarios, Business Process and Steps/activities.
There are 2 possibilities to map the process into the Sap Solution Manager:
    1. Map the process by component.
    - Single Project
-It means to make a list of all sap components with their process without mattering the business process.
-Each product line can be a variant for an specific process. e.g: Sales by line
    2. Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line
Which cold be the better option in order to:
    - Easy configuration activities
    - Easy design of Unit and integration test
    - Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization
    Theres another option?
    Thanks
    Alvaro Hernán Rojas R

Hi Alvaro Hernán Rojas R ,
The product line is the hierarchy of the finished goods.
It is pertinent that the finished goods has emerged due to some process(es) carried on the raw material.
Thus logically you should map in solution manager based on the process only.
The macro process while depicts the processes at the highest level. The Business scenarios, Business Process gives a good idea about how you should go about configuring. The Steps/activities helps you to map in to SAP thro' T/Codes.
From the point of view of all of the below three, namely,
    Easy configuration activities
Easy design of Unit and integration test
Easy activities of Process enhancement and optimization,
the option   Map the process as ISO Standards
    - Several projects : For each product line, will be most ideal.
It is the processes that drives the activities. The control activities like internal control etc are all process based.Given these, divorcing the business process from the configuration -as in -is certainly not a good practice.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ramesh

  • Solution Manager - MAM business Scenario/ECC 6.0

    Experts,
Our environment: ECC 6.0, xMAM 3.0, SM 4.0.
Issue: I am facing an issue when adding scenario related to Plant Maintenance. When I add the "Enterprise Asset Management" for ECC 6.0 which is under SAP Service & Asset Management, I am not able to see processes related to Mobile Asset Management.
    Any pointers?
    Note:
In our Dev ECC, MAM is available under Plant Maintenance and Customer Service (SPRO).
Solution Manager Path: Business Blueprint/Adding a Business Scenario.

    Hi Amit,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
We are on ST-ICO 10, which is the latest.  Still not showing up.
I have a question  on the version that shows up in the scenarios.
When we add the scenario,  under SAP Service and Asset Management/Enterprise Asset Management, I don't see the ECC 6.0 option.  i see that option for FI, HR, and other processes. I just see the ECC 5.0 option.

    Hi friends,
our functional people are asking about solution ASAP roadmaps. are these solution ASAP roadmaps are pre-loaded into solution manager when it is installed? if not where we can get from? As of now we have a generic ASAP roadmap loaded into SM.
How to access these solution roadmaps in Solution manager?
any help would be highly appreciated
    Thanks,

    Hello Krishna,
Although the ASAP Roadmap that is displayed when you run the RMMAIN transaction is generic, it has the solution specific content. To display this content you have to apply filters on the roadmap. There are 3-filters (Flavors, Roles, Subject Areas). Filter for Flavors to display the roadmap for your requirement (BW, APO etc)
If you already upgraded to Sol man 3.2, there is new updated ASAP Roadmap which has lot of content (accelerators etc) than the roadmap in sol man 3.1 - Please review the notes for

    Hi,
It's a good idea, but currently it's not yet supported.
In Work Center, there is no predefined (nor a hidden) link shipped by SAP to access the Solution Database for key users.
With a future EhP for Solution Manager, you might get an integration of the Solution Database into the message processing Web UI.
