Customized Java Deployment

Hello everyone. I would like to create a customized deployment of Java (any recent release will work) that has specific proxy settings. I have found where I can create a silent deployment with a few customizations, but there is no place to specify proxy settings.
My main goal is to deploy Java throughout our intranet that uses a different proxy than our browsers. The reason is our primary proxy will not allow jdbc connections to pass through.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand the the FF team want users to be secure-by-default but I need to use this plugin and hence need this set this to always enable (As the ask to enable setting breaks JDT auto-detection)
Surely there is some way but bypass this advisory.
EDIT: Found it (Though all the help on this topic is misleading)
Click on the lock (if an SSL enabled site) icon click "more information", select the permissions tab and finally tick "Java deployment toolkit" in the "Activate plugins" section

  • How to deploy the custom java application for self regaistration in portal?

    hi,
I have created a custom java application in NWDS for Self Registration of new users.I am working on EP 7.02 and the standard self registration application is a Web dynpro java application.
How can i deploy my custom java application built as a par file in place of the Web dynpro java application?
    Thanks,

    Hi Amarys,
If you have developed the PAR file in NWDS then you can deploy the PAR in the server with NWDS ( [Check Required Settings |NWDS 7.0 does not deploy PAR;) or in server directly (system administrator > support >> portal runtime >> administration console)

  • How do you invoke custom java classes???

Could someone post a detailed method of invoking custom java classes that works including what files go where, settings and the way it is invoked etc.
I have tried various ways from this forum and in the documentation without success. I am using IDM 8. I found these instructions regarding how you would do it if you were writing custom resource adaptors in the deployment tools guide:
To install a resource adapter you’ve customized:
    1. Load the NewResourceAdapter.class file in the Identity Manager installation
    directory under
    idm/WEB-INF/classes/com/waveset/adapter/sample
(You might have to create this directory.)
    2. Copy the .gif file to idm/applet/images.
This .gif file is the image that displays next to the resource name on the List
Resources page, and it should contain an image for your resource that is
18x18 pixels and 72 DPI in size.
    3. Add the class to the resource.adapter property in
    config/waveset.properties.
    4. Stop and restart the application server. (For information about working with
application servers, see Identity Manager Installation.)
I tried the instructions here but placed my custom class in a folder entitled custom instead of /adapter/sample. Not sure about instruction 3 or whether it is relevent. Anyway nothings working.

    Hi,
The way to add custom class is the same as you followed , put them in the WEB-INF/classes.
To use the custom adapter ,
Go To Resources - > Configure Types -> Add Custom Resource .
Type in the fully qualified class name of the custom adapter you added.and Save.
Now the new adapter you added should showup in the list of available adapters when you try to
    configure a new adapter.
(Make sure that the prototype XML of your custom adapter is correct so that it displays the correct name / type for the adapter in the adapter list.
    Thanks,
    Balu

  • 10.1.3.4 - How to access custom java methods in worklist ?

We want to invoke a custom java method inside of worklist, when the file attachments are added to the worklist. We are planning to modify the auto-generated jsp page to do the same. We have created the custom jar files, but am not sure where to deploy this jar file ? We are not able to compile the jsp /jar. Does anybody have any idea where the custom jar file goes ?

The bpel\samples\hw\worklistapp\readme will explain you about how to do this.

  • Custom java class in Quoting screen Customization

    Hi,
We are working with Customization of couple of screens in Quote module. Esp. the Create Template screen. We decide to add new property to the Template and user needs to choose among a set of values to this new property through a radio button.
Instead of hardcoding these property values and radiobuttons, we thought we would define these data in some lookup table and fetch them and display.
Now, since we are defining these lookup data, should we write our custom java class to interact with database and fetch them from any lookup table (should we use flex fields ?) ?
If we are going to write custom java object, any guidance on how to compile/deploy/standards for them ?
    Message was edited by:

Since our this requirement is in Quotes module, its not using OAF. It is using plain JSPs and java classes.
What i was thinking is, create the Option values as flex fields, and write a custom java class to fetch these data from the flex tables and use it in the JSP.
The main problem we are facing now is,
"...we wrote a simple java class, which establishes database connection, executes a simple insert & select query to our custom table. compiled & placed the class file under our new pkg structure under $JAVA_TOP eg. oracle.apps.xxx.quot.tmpl , bounced the apache."
But when we tried to import this class in the jsp (which is being customized), the app just throwed Internal Server Error and we couldnt find any info in the Log file.
Couldnt guess, why is this simple thing failing. Any idea ?

  • Where to Place Custom Java Code

We are planning on adding customized Java code to Identity Manager 8; XPRESS will be used to call the customized Java code.
    Questions:
    1) Where does this customised code reside in the Java Application Server (Glassfish)?
    2) Does the customized Java code have to be packaged in a JAR file?
    Many thanks for your help.

You would deploy custom Java code along with the IDM war/ear file. Classes go in the WEB-INF/classes/ folder, JARs in WEB-INF/lib/ and that is application server independant.
Class files or JARs? Do you have any build process for your IDM, like the custom build environment CBE, then the source files might end up as class files; if you are using a seperate build environment for those custom classes, then packaging them in a JAR would be the way to go.
Generally speaking, using a JAR for your custom code is neater; whether a class in classes/com/foo/bar/Foo.class or in lib/myfoobars.jar takes precedence over the other is up to the class loader and depending on your application server and its settings, the behavior might vary - so be careful about mixing use of those locations.

I want to use in my script a custom Java command for a shortcut button. I follow the instructions given in the docs that I found, but seems that I miss something, so pls advice.
    This is what I did:
    1. in my script a defined a shortcut button with a Java command type. The command name is correctly specified as :
a.b.myclass::mymethod - I'm also passing a Proxy parameter and a string - the name of the group I want to jump to. (this is the exact example I found in Oracle Scripting use and administer course dating from 2000 -:( ).
    2. I packaged my classes in a jar. (What is strange is that I am using the exact code for my method as the ScriptUtil class provided as bestpractice by Oracle)
    3. using Oracle Scripting Administration Console I upload my jar as global.
    4. Deploy my script to the database.
    5. Run the script
After all that, what I get when I push the shortcut button is .... nothing!!!!
If I am removing my jar from the database using Oracle Scripting Administration console - I am getting "Unable to load class since no jar was associated with your script"
If I'm indicating on purpose a Java method name (that does not exist in my class) I'm getting java.lang.RuntimeException.
So, I really do not know what the problem is, since my code is the same as the ScriptUtil class, and if I'm using the Script Util as my Java Command it works just fine.
Can someone help me? What am I doing wrong? Did I missed a step?
    Thank you
    Cristina

  • Oracle Application Server of R12.1.x (10.1.3) for Custom Application Deploy

    Hi Friends,
Can we use Oracle Application Server of R12.1.x (10.1.3) for Custom Application Deployment(jar files) instead of going for seperate Oracle 10g Applicatuion Server.
Let us know the Licensing information as well
    Regards
    DB

    Hi,
Personally i would'nt suggest using the Application server, due to
    1. If you need down time for application patching, you custom application will also be down.
    2. If you can not start 10g Application server (The one came with R12) for some issues, it will also affect your custom application.
    3. If you are upgrading/patching 10g application server (the one came with R12), you would not know what will the affect of this on custom application.

    Hi Suraj,
    Hope you are doing good.
Nice to hear from you again. It looks like P4 connection is affected:
    1)
Review note 1158626 and adjust the P4 port configuration accordingly. You will need to check whether the P4 port is available. Note 1925352 will help you to check this (you can use the sapcontrol command or others mentioned to check whether host: 172.16.35.110 and port: 50004 is available or not).
    2)
Make sure that there are no invalid profile files. Kindly move the profile files that are old to some other location.
    3)
Also, please verify that you don't have any non-deterministic names in the etc/hosts file, per SAP note:
1134222 - Cannot access AS Java via P4 connection
    Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards,
    Hemanth

  • How do i fix the message to update java deployment kit when I already have the lastest version of java installed?

I keep getting a message that "An important update is available for Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.400.43". I click on "Update Now" and I get taken to the Mozilla Plug-in check page. A brief message shows at the top of the page that tells me some plugins are out of date and then disappears. The plugin checks show all plugins are up to date. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Java more than once and run a registry cleaner, but once I install Java the same messages appear. I am on a Windows XP machine and I am running an older version of Firefox (9.0) because addons for some of my other software don't work with newer versions of firefox. Can I get rid of the message or do I have to live with it because I use an older version of firefox?

Please update to Firefox 23.0.1 IMMEDIATELY. Old versions are extremely vulnerable to security issues, and all your add-ons should work if they work in Firefox 10 anyway.
