Customizing project status sql statement

The sql below takes into account the max(EFFDT) and max(EFFSEQ) to determine the status of a project, it also takes into account all later EFFDTs that are after CLOSED status such as FINISHED (company doesnt want this) - so what i eventually have are blank statuses for most projects since the sql also nulls any values outside Approved, Closed or Open. I need help in customizing the sql to get a max(EFFDT) of a project when it is in either an APPROVED,OPEN OR CLOSED status only. Here is what i have so far - thanks
SELECT P.EFFDT AS EFFDT,
P.EFFSEQ AS EFFSEQ,
(CASE P.PROJECT_STATUS WHEN 'A' THEN 'APPROVED' WHEN 'C' THEN 'CLOSED' WHEN 'N' THEN 'OPEN' ELSE NULL END) AS PROJECT_STATUS,
P.PROJECT_PRIORITY AS PROJECT_PRIORITY,
P.BUSINESS_UNIT AS BUSINESS_UNIT,
P.PROJECT_ID AS PROJECT_ID
FROM PS_PROJECT_STATUS P
WHERE P.EFFDT =
(SELECT MAX(EFFDT)
FROM PS_PROJECT_STATUS P1
WHERE P1.BUSINESS_UNIT = P.BUSINESS_UNIT
AND P1.PROJECT_ID = P.PROJECT_ID
AND P1.EFFDT < '$$$SessStartTime'
GROUP BY P1.BUSINESS_UNIT,
P1.PROJECT_ID
AND P.EFFSEQ =
(SELECT MAX(EFFSEQ)
FROM PS_PROJECT_STATUS P2
WHERE P2.BUSINESS_UNIT = P.BUSINESS_UNIT
AND P2.PROJECT_ID = P.PROJECT_ID
GROUP BY P2.BUSINESS_UNIT,
P2.PROJECT_ID
)

Well I had to create a new connection when it kept throwing
the error that there was no connection. This is not all of my
database logic, the rest of it, such as the creation of the
database and tables, as well as all of the related insert
statements. How the database was created was this:
public function openDatabase():void
conn = new SQLConnection();
conn.addEventListener(SQLErrorEvent.ERROR, errorHandler);
var dbFile:File =
File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath("MatMgr.db");
if(dbFile.exists)
conn.addEventListener(SQLEvent.OPEN, openHandler);
else
conn.addEventListener(SQLEvent.OPEN, createHandler);
conn.openAsync(dbFile);
Essentially if it doesn't already exist, it creates a new one
along with the tables whose logic I left out. While typing this, I
experimented and discovered how to fix my problem by doing this:
private function executeSQL(selectSQL:String):void
var dbFile:File =
File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath("MatMgr.db");
selectStatement = new SQLStatement();
conn = new SQLConnection();
selectStatement.sqlConnection = conn;
conn.open(
dbFile);
selectStatement.addEventListener(SQLEvent.RESULT,
selectResult);
selectStatement.addEventListener(SQLErrorEvent.ERROR,
dataManager.errorHandler);
selectStatement.text = selectSQL;
selectStatement.execute();
Though nothing appeared in the datagrid, no errors were
thrown, and the fact that nothing was in the datagrid can be
attributed to nothing being in the table in question at the time of
this post. Thanks for your help, it's what inspired me to make the
needed code change.

  • How to use reference parameters (BAPI Import Parameters) in SQL statements

    Dear SAP gurus
    I have a question on using parameters passed in a custom BAPI in SQL statements.
    I am sending 2 parameters  TABLENAME, COLUMNNAME into a custom bapi.
    In the BAPI I need to give an sql command some thing like
    select * from TABLENAME where COLUMNNAME = '100'.
    Where TABLENAME and COLUMNAME may vary depend on what parameters are sent while calling this BAPI.
    Even defining an internal table that has the structure of TABLENAME is not working.
    I used the following statement 'data: ls_TABLENAME type TABLENAME', which generates error message saying TABLENAME is unknons.
    Any feedback will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ram

    As far as I know you can not give parameter to a select query like that. You should describe the tablename and the columnname as string type.  Then assign the values to them you want to use in query.
    data: str_table type string.
    data: str_column type string.
    select * from  (str_table)  into  <g_t_table>  where (str_column)  = '100'.
    If the table name is not determined until runtime, you must specify an output area with INTO .

  • Trace is still getting generated even after disabling the profile option Initialization SQL Statement - Custom

    Hi All,
    we have a problem with profile option "Initialization SQL Statement - Custom". we have set this at user level. after some time, we have cleared the profile option value for this user.
    But we can still see the generated trace files are getting updated. we did checked this trc files from path returned from below query.
    select name, value
    from   v$parameter
    where  name like 'user_dump_dest';
    Please help us on how to resolve this issue. we are using Oracle Apps R 12.1.2 version.
    Thanks in advance
    Raghava

    Before logging out we suspect that he closed the browser instead of logout link.
    What if you make the user logout, can you reproduce the issue then?
    We have verified the profile options for this user and found that value is cleared for profile Initialization SQL Statement - Custom.
    How do you know that the files were generated for this user and because of this profile option? Have you verified profile options for all users at all level?
    Thanks,

  • Parameter value in sql statement (Custom Folder)

    Hi ,
    I want to formulate a custom folder - consisting of a sql statement , inside of which there is a parameter. Then in Desktop , the users can select a number as the searching criteria and this value will replace the parameter in sql statement , as in the following:
    select CODE_FARMAKOU,EMP_NAME,PACKTYPE,PACKSIZE , SUM_POSOTITA from

  • Site System Status Error Message on SiteStat.log : SQL statement with Incorrect Syntax

    Hi Folks,
    We are getting the below system status error in the primary servers site status log (SiteStat.log) every minute. It relates to the updating of a secondary site.
    I have worked out where the SQL syntax is wrong (TimeReported=,) and that it more than likely relates to the day light saving settings last weekend on the secondary sites virtual's host which caused the secondary site server time to go way
    into the future, this has now been fixed.
    Is there anyway of removing/deleting this system status/SQL query?  I have restarted Primary, Secondary and SQL server, to no avail.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up.
    There is not supported way to fix this. As such I recommend that you contract CSS directly, they will work with you to solve this problem.

  • Custom SQL statement on the fly

    Is it possible to construct dynamic SQL statement in DB adapter on the fly?

    One Solution is pass your sql statement to the procedure and fire it from the procedure.
    stmt_str := 'INSERT INTO ' || tablename || ' VALUES
    (:deptno, :dname, :loc)';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE stmt_str
    USING deptnumber, deptname, location;

  • HOW TO: Post a SQL statement tuning request - template posting

    This post is not a question, but similar to Rob van Wijk's "When your query takes too long ..." post should help to improve the quality of the requests for SQL statement tuning here on OTN.
    On the OTN forum very often tuning requests about single SQL statements are posted, but the information provided is rather limited, and therefore it's not that simple to provide a meaningful advice. Instead of writing the same requests for additional information over and over again I thought I put together a post that describes how a "useful" post for such a request should look like and what information it should cover.
    I've also prepared very detailed step-by-step instructions how to obtain that information on my blog, which can be used to easily gather the required information. It also covers again the details how to post the information properly here, in particular how to use the \ tag to preserve formatting and get a fixed font output:
    http://oracle-randolf.blogspot.com/2009/02/basic-sql-statement-performance.html
    So again: This post here describes how a "useful" post should look like and what information it ideally covers. The blog post explains in detail how to obtain that information.
    In the future, rather than requesting the same additional information and explaining how to obtain it, I'll simply refer to this HOW TO post and the corresponding blog post which describes in detail how to get that information.
    *Very important:*
    Use the \ tag to enclose any output that should have its formatting preserved as shown below.
    So if you want to use fixed font formatting that preserves the spaces etc., do the following:
    \   This preserves formatting
    \And it will look like this:
       This preserves formatting
       . . .Your post should cover the following information:
    1. The SQL and a short description of its purpose
    2. The version of your database with 4-digits (e.g. 10.2.0.4)
    3. Optimizer related parameters
    4. The TIMING and AUTOTRACE output
    5. The EXPLAIN PLAN output
    6. The TKPROF output snippet that corresponds to your statement
    7. If you're on 10g or later, the DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR output
    The above mentioned blog post describes in detail how to obtain that information.
    Your post should have a meaningful subject, e.g. "SQL statement tuning request", and the message body should look similar to the following:
    *-- Start of template body --*

    #1.5#00096BF521750058005A9CA900001E480003E80BD8A2C263#1099562506968#/System/Database/sql/jdbc/common#sap.com/irj#com.sap.sql.jdbc.common.StatementAnalyzerImpl#Guest#18####655e44612e4811d9b41300096bf52175#Thread[ThreadPool-Dispatcher,5,SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_Group]##0#0#Error#1#com.sap.sql.jdbc.common.StatementAnalyzerImpl#Java#com.sap.sql.jdbc.common_1123#com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLResourceBundle#The SQL statement "" contains the semantics error[s]: #2#SELECT MIN("ID"),"PRIORITY" FROM "KMC_TQ_QUEUE" WHERE "NAMESPACE_HASH" = ? AND "NAMESPACE" = ? AND "TASK_STATE" = 1 GROUP BY "PRIORITY" ORDER BY 2 DESC#type check error: the expression >>"NAMESPACE"<< (LONGVARCHAR) is not comparable and must not be used with "="
    This message occurs more than 500 times per log file. It has something to do with Knowledge management, but we cannot find anything that triggers this sql statement.
    Any ideas?
    Noel Hendrikx & Pascal Rijnart

    SAP tells us in reaction to our customer message:
    "The table's definition is correct. What has to be changed is the
    computed type for field NAMESPACE and the generated file for the table.
    As I wrote before, if you make any change in the field NAMESPACE the
    new computation is started (so change the description which has no
    effect on the table's version on the database). Make the change and
    save the table in the SapNetWeaver Developer Studio. You will then
    see that the field's JDBC-type changes to VARCHAR.
    Choose 'Create archive' for Dictionary Project the table belongs to
    and deploy the sda on the database. Both can be done in the studio."
    Can anyone tell us what to do now?

  • SQLException: Closed Connection, SQL state [null]; error code [17002]

    Hello All,
    I am supporting a Java 5 project on Tomcat. We've used Spring and Stored Procedure in the project.
    Recently we deployed our application in a GoLive environment and have started seeing Timeout errors in log files. After around two days we also have to restart Tomcat as users are no more able to login to access the application.
    Same application runs fine without any timeout issues on another environment.
    The only difference between two environments is that the Go-Live env has a firewall between Tomcat and Database and the other environment hosts both Tomcat and Database on same machine (i.e. no firewall).
    For GoLive env the only port open on firewall for JDBC connection is 1521 and is used in the connection string url for obtaining the connections.
    When there is a Timeout error, the N/w admin guy observed that the JDBC connection was not attempted on 1521 port, but on some random port which is not open on firewall, due to which the Database server logs also do not show entry for this connection attempt as it gets blocked by the firewall.
    I am not sure why a randam port should be used to connect when a specific port is mentioned in the connection url? Also what can be making this port switching?
    Application uses Apache DBCP with Spring to obtain connections.
    Has anyone experienced similar errors?
    Any suggestions/help on this issue is greatly appreciated!
    Many Thanks,
    CD

  • Pass ORG_ID as sql statement for parameter in request set

    We are in a multi-org environment. We are running the request PRC: Generate Draft Revenue for a Single Project as part of the request set. We want the request to automatically fill in the open pa period as the accrue through date. We have been using the SQL Statement below as the value for the accrue through date parameter.
    select end_date
    from pa_periods_all
    where status = 'O'
    and current_pa_period_flag = 'Y'
    Unfortunately that does not limit to a specific company. We a company that still have DEC-05 while another has an open period of JAN-06. This is causing the program fits. How do I pass the org_id to the request? [in beginners terms please]
    Thanks.
    Anne

    No idea what might be wroong without more info...
    Do some output. Test the ${params.id} variable passed to the second jsp. If that is correct, then error is in the select statement or display of jsp2. If it is correct the error comes from jsp1.
    If I have to guess, then I would say the error comes from JSP1, and the ${row.vac_id} should only be called once. In which case I would do something like this:
    //in jsp 1
                <c:forEach var="row" items="${results.rows}"  varStatus="counter"  >
                    <c:set var="vac_id" value="${row.vac_id}" scope="page"/>
                    <tr>
                        <td>${vac_id}</td>
                        <td><a href="vacancydetails.jsp?id=${vac_id}">More</a></td>But that is a guess only...
    Errr... Hold on to that as reference, but the it is entirely likely that I misspelled ${params.id} It may be ${param.id} I forget and away from my machine right now...

  • SSIS The parameterized sql statement yields metadata which does not match the main SQL statement

    Hi all,
    I'm getting the above error when trying to execute a custom lookup.  What I'm trying to do is lookup the minimum promotional price between date ranges.  The SQL executes fine in SSMS
    SELECT refTable.PRICE
    FROM ( SELECT MIN(PRICE) AS PRICE ,
    NAME ,
    ITEMRELATION ,
    FROMDATE ,
    TODATE
    FROM [dbo].[AllCustPrices]
    GROUP BY NAME ,
    ITEMRELATION ,
    FROMDATE ,
    TODATE
    ) [refTable]
    WHERE [refTable].[NAME] = ?
    AND [refTable].[ITEMRELATION] = ?
    AND ? BETWEEN [refTable].[FROMDATE]
    AND [refTable].[TODATE]
    but errors in SSIS?

    Apologies, totally forgot i posted a question on here.  I still haven't resolved this.  full error text is TITLE: Package Validation Error
    Package Validation Error
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Error at Data Flow Task [Lookup MIN Price [440]]: The parameterized SQL statement yields metadata which does not match the main SQL statement.
    Error at Data Flow Task [SSIS.Pipeline]: "Lookup MIN Price" failed validation and returned validation status "VS_ISBROKEN".

    Error at Data Flow Task: There were errors during task validation.
     (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)
    BUTTONS:
    OK
    If I take off the MIN function and just put * SSIS is quite happy, it does not like MIN for some reason?
    I'm really stumped with this... checked metadata for third parameter which is W/C Date DT_DBTIMESTAMP which is same as FROMDATE, TODATE where i'm using BETWEEN...

  • Adding a field to an sql statement in Oracle Reports error ORA-00933

    We have been requested to add a field that already exists in the table referred to by the sql statement in Oracle Reports Builder. The report was set up by a consultant about 3 yrs ago and we don't really have much skill in this area. What is happening when I try to modify the SQL statement, either adding a field or deleting a field to the SELECT statement, causes an error message preventing the statement from being saved. The only way out of the error message is to click Cancel. The error message is
    ORA-00933:SQL command not properly ended
    ORDER BY Program ==> NAME
    Even adding or deleting a space anywhere in the SQL statement causes the error (not adding any new fields). A coworker found that if we comment out the ORDER BY, the statement will accept the new field in the SELECT section, however then we lose the order by functionality. I would like to add one additional field before the FROM. Not sure if any additional data are needed. Thank you.

    Hi Denis,
    I tried your suggestion. The good thing is that adding the comma allowed me to be able to add a.campus to the select statement, unfortunately, another error message happened.
    ORA-00936: missing expression SELECT p . person_uid PIDM_KEY ,
    p . id_number , p . full_name_lfmi name , p . BIRTH_DATE , p . GENDER Sex ,
    Decode ( a . residency , 'D' , p . Primary_Ethnicity , 'F' ) Ethn , a . academic_period TERM ,
    CASE WHEN : P_group_by = 'PROGRAM THEN a I started over and tried only putting in the comma and get the same message even though I didn't add campus. After that, removed the comma which led to the ORA-00933 error message. So once again, I had to close the file without saving, in order for the report to run at all.

    This statement was written by a vendor and now i have problem displaying some new data. Only a portion of what i need is displayed.

    Hi,
    After WHERE .......... is indicates an OUTER Join condition.
    In this type of join, system retrieves the data for matched and
    as well as unmatched.
    Example:
    EMP table have a column DEPTNO with the data 10, 20, 30 (total rows=14)
    DEPT table have a column DEPTNO with the data 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 (total rows=5)
    If the WHERE clause contained EMP.DEPTNO(+) = DEPT.DEPTNO
    then the output contain the data relative to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 (total rows = 16)
    i.e. 14 rows (with matching data) and 2 rows (with unmatching data)
