Customizing the advacne search option

Hello Everyone,
I am making the application in which I want to customize the code such that there should be no columns present when we are starting the advance search.

Can you explain your use-case further.
When you mention there should be no columns present, do you mean that the table should not be displayed or are you mentioning that no criteria items should be displayed. If you are referring to criteria items, then by default 4 criteria rows will be displayed (if there are 4 or more criteria items) and this cannot be personalized.

you haven't lost anything, it's virtually impossible to delete your Zotero library by accident.
You may just need to show your add-on bar (View --> Toolbars ---> Add on Bar).
To check if Zotero is disabled, go to Tools--> Add-ons --> Extensions.
Make sure to check for Zotero updates, you may need the newest version (2.1.10) for FF6 compatibility.
As a general piece of advice, if technical problems make you frantic, don't perform major software upgrades in the middle of a project. Also, support for Zotero is better on the Zotero forums than here.

Customizing the basic search

is there a way to fully customize the basic search portlet? how can i change the name of the "search" button - i want it to be in my native language, and the portal doens have a translation for it

Disappearance !! of the 3 search options for Google (French / Belgium / web) in the opening page. There is only one possibility. Big disadvantage!

I have changed no options in my browser but in recent days, my home page Firefox does not display the three usual options of Google search (ie: French / Belgium / web). There remains only one possibility which is undoubtedly the French option.

Customizing the Bridge Search Interface

I've created a custom MetaData Schema and custom FileInfo panel for my CS4 applications.
Now, I'd like to customize the bridge search interface. Currently, the search interface shows EXIF metadata types as searchable. I'd like to add my own, and remove the EXIF.
After reading the Adobe Bridge CS4 Javascript Guide, I believe that I can do what I want by creating a whole new script driven search window. It seems like it should be much easier than that to modify the Search interface directly.
Any suggestions?

can I customize the advanced search form in Portal, for

but that requires some programming efort. are there any easier

You could try to cpoy the HTML source of the advanced search
page, copy it in a HTML-portlet or dynamic page, and remove the
fields you don't want to show.
I had succes this way with the search portlet and add_groups
portlet, didn't try the advanced search page though.

How to supress the defaulted search option in catalogs

Hello,
This might be a long shot but I have the following situation:
In a shopping cart a user picks a material from Catalog X , category Y. The next time he opens the catalog X, directly the same category Y is diplayed in the search, in other words, SRM remembers the last search of the user and defaults it. We would like that everytime the user enters the catalog X, it starts the search from zero (with all the categories displayed).
Can we supress this automatic default in the search from the Catalog? Is there a user attribute which provokes the defaulting?
We use CCM 2.0 and SRM 5.0

There is no specific 'fix' for this in CCM 2.0, but in CCM 1.0 the functionality was provided.
Please review note [794163|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=794163] and decide if you wish to modify the system to react as you desire.
This functionlaity was never transferred to CCM 2.0 as it was deemed to be the incorrect way to handle the search UI and the original, last items displayed, approach was taken.

Is there any way to disable the firefox search option when you long press the home button on Samsung Galaxy S5 Active?

I have an S5 Active and sometimes the home button sticks and registers as a long press which brings up Firefox search instead of going to the home screen. Is there any way to disable Firefox Search so that this doesn't happen. I Love the Firefox browser but if this keeps happening I will have to uninstall it.

How can we customize the no of rows in Search options set?

Hi all,
I am using EP6 SP14, and i need to display the news from a folder based on a filter criteria ( like regions, etc) i am using a KM search iview with a query to search the items of the folder and the corresponding search options set limits the no of rows to a min 5 but i need only 3 items to be displayed with the page links to the browse the rest of the news. Can anyone suggest me if there is any way of customizing the no of rows or else i am thinking of using a KM navigation iview and using the corresponding query but strangely the layout doesnt work.....Anything i need to do more to limit the no of items to be displayed?
Help would be greatly appreciated ,

The "search" option of ipod

my ipod has the latest ipod software but it doesn't feature the new "search" option. Is that normal? please if not tell me how to solve my problem

Unless your iPod is one of the upgraded Late 2006 30GB or 80GB iPods, you don't have the search function. It was not added to existing devices in any of the recent updates. It may or may not be added in some future software update but there's no official word on that. There is a the quick scroll feature which kicks in when you are scrolling fairly rapidly through your list and shows the letter of the alphabet you are at.

Multiple searching options

hi experts,
i need to create one searching iview but has multiple search options. The purpose is to let the user search for documents using one iView only (we have many types of documents with different metadata). We try to separate the options by tab. Is it possible? We are using SAPNetweaver portal 7.0.

Hi Shah,
You can achive the above said by creating separate indexes for the folders containing the documents.
Follow the following steps,
1.Create separate indexes for the KM folders under the following path in Portal,
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Index Management
If you want to group the indexes , you have to specify the group name during creation of the index.
Add the folder as a Data Source to the respective indexes.
2.Create Search Options Set under the following path and mention the indexes or search index group in it.
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface >
(Change the mode to advanced) select Search >Search Option Set ,
Select the standard UI Search Option set and click on duplicate button , give a name to the new search option set.
Add the indexes created to index option in Option set.
3.Create Search Component Set under the following path and this can be used in iview properties,
System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > User Interface >
(Change the mode to advanced) select Search > Search Component Set,
Select the standard UISearchComponents and create a duplicate copy of the same and give a custom name to the same.
4.Create iview from application or copy search iview from the standard content.After creating the iview update the properties with the above created option set and component set.
Option set will establish a connectivity between the iview and the created indexes..
Advanced Search UI and results can be customized by customizing the Search component set and Layout sets.

Restrict Equipment Search Options to only "Equipments by equipment list"

Hello Experts,
Is there a way to restrict Equipment Search Options to only "Equipments by equipment list" in all PM related transactions like maintenance plan, order, notification, measuring point, etc.,
We would like to put a hard stop on that option and restrict users from accessing (preferably not to even display other options) other options like "Equipment by Cost center", etc.,

The Equipment Search Options can be restricted by two ways.
1) If the restricted search option required in all transactions where you are using equipment field,
Edit the search help collecting search help 'EQUI' in SE11, Flag the checkbox for all the search helps in the 'Included Search helps' tab except the 'Equipment by Equipment list' search help (EQUIL).
2) If you want for particular transaction or program,
Use the search help exit 'PM_HLP_PREVENT_RECURSION'.
ABAPer can help you for both the options.

Trouble with the advanced search function on acrobat reader. Why won't it open? it used to, but suddenly stopped working.

For some inexplicable reason the advanced search option in my acrobat reader 11.0.3 has stopped working. It worked just fine a few weeks ago. I am running Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro. When I open advanced reader the pdf file I am trying to search ceases to be the active window. But no other window exists (in 'window' search is checked, but there is nothing there!). Does anyone have any ideas. I have downloaded and re-installed reader twice, and removed all earlier versions (I think). This is kind of urgent!

It's a 3rd party app. You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums
