Hi,
The presentation variable is being passed correctly, but still the date value is not persisiting.
I have two prompts, both having presentation variables passed into them;One of the prompt value is being persisted but the other one(here date) is not.
I am not able to justify this issue as the problem is very vague. I dont see any reason for this issue to come up.
Anyways I am still trying to figure out the problem.

  • How to realize this reqirement in the dashboard prompt in OBIEE 10G?

    Hi,
    I have a new query about dashboard prompt in OBIEE 10g..
    All below is needed to Operator in the dashboard prompt.
    We have 4 columns, 4 columns using multi-select type need to constrain together and need to show value which is related with product..
    e.g.
    Now I display "REGION" column using multi-select in Control, and I need to show data which product name is not null. After I add "where product name is not null" in the SQL results in Show, then I cannot use the Constrain box.. and I cannot set any variable if I using multi-select type..
    So anybody have any idea about this?
    Your reply will be highly appreciate..
    Regards,
    Anne

    Hi Anne
    User Input type as " Multi select prompt" keep it with constrain option then apply below query
    apply like this kind of SQL query in Default selection --->SQL result section
    SELECT "MX_PORTFOLIO_STATIC"."MT_BU_Level1" FROM "Position" where "MX_PORTFOLIO_STATIC"."MT_BU_Level1" is not null

  • Wants to develope the report of Budget, actual , Commitments & availa Bud

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    I want to develope the singlr report as follows,
    I/p : Project defn / Top WBSE
    Out put:-
    Against whole project,
    - Total Original budget
    - Total Actuals
    - Total Commitments
    - Total Assigned value
    - Total Available budget
    I found the  Total Original budget (Field name :- WLGEV) & Total Actuals(Field name:- WTGES) from table BPGE, but could not able to find out other fileds.
    Can anyone guide me for balance work ? (Note:- Please note that I need to find out overall value against the Project & not against the lower level WBSE)
    Thanks & regards,
    Pradip

    Take 'Project for selection as PRPS_PSPHI
    Select all WBSE ie PRPS-OBJNR for which PSPHI is same. This was you select all WBSE for a project.
    =========================================================
    For Actuals:
    pass all PRPS-OBJNR obtained earlier in RPSCO-OBJNR. Put a filter of RPSCO-WRTTP=4 (value type=4).
    In resulting lines do a sum of values in RPSCO-WLP01 to RPSCO-WLP12
    ==========================================================
    For total commitments:
    pass all PRPS-OBJNR obtained earlier in RPSCO-OBJNR. Put a filter of RPSCO-WRTTP=21 & 22 (value type=21 Commitments from Purchase Requisition
    22 Purchase Order Commitment).
    In resulting lines do a sum of values in RPSCO-WLP01 to RPSCO-WLP12
    =========================================================
    Assigned Values=sum of actual+ Rem commitment (assuming u don't have NWA)

  • OBIEE Answers does not display the result set of a report query

    Hi,
    We have a pivot table type of report in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v.10.1.3.3.2 Answers that has the following characteristics:
         3 Pages
         3 Sections , 4 Columns
         18363 Rows in the result set
    As per the NQQuery.log, the query for this report executes successfully resulting in 18363 rows. However, nothing comes up in the display on Answers. Moreover, no error is reported. The instanceconfig.xml file has the following setting:
    <PivotView>
         <CubeMaxRecords>30000</CubeMaxRecords>
         <CubeMaxPopulatedCells>300000</CubeMaxPopulatedCells>
    </PivotView>
    Even with these settings, Answers just returns a blank page - nothing is displayed in the name of the result set of the report query. Has anyone encountered this problem scenario before?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Piyush

    Hi Fiston / Pradeep,
    Thanks for your inputs. A few points to note:
    -> I am actually not getting any error message in answers or the NQQuery log. Moreover I am not getting any errors related to "query governor limit exceeding in cube generation" also.
    -> I have other pivot table type of reports in the same repository that work fine. In fact the report which has this issue even works sometimes - what actually is happening is that if I alter the number of sections from 3 to 4, then the result set changes from 14755 Rows to 18363 Rows and as per the NQQuery.log in both cases the query completes successfully. However, when the result set has 14755 rows, I get to see the output in Answers; however when the result set is 18636 rows, the Answers screen just goes blank and does not show any output or error. This makes me believe that there is some parameter in instanceconfig or the NQSconfig file - I have tried a lot of changes but nothing works !
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Piyush

  • Printable Report Query Problem

    I am attempting to develop a printable report query. I have created a report query under shared components that consists of 12 separate queries that gather data that all relates to a single page item. The intent is to create a printed PDF document for the user on demand that will display all this information about the page item that they have selected.
    The report query gathers the information and generates an XML file in the following format.
    <DOCUMENT>
        <ROWSET1>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                             *Data from query 1*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
        </ROWSET1>
        <ROWSET2>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                              *Data from query 2*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                              * Data from query 2*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
       </ROWSET2>
       <ROWSET3>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                              * Data from query 3*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                              * Data from query 3*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
       </ROWSET3>
    </DOCUMENT>I then took this XML file and developed an RTF template using BI Publisher desktop and imported it as a Report Layout.
    I then connected this RTF layout to the report query and ran it. I did not get the all the data to print.
    I found the reason it did not work was that the XML file that is generated from the report query is not static. The next XML file that was generated from the report query looked like this:
    <DOCUMENT>
        <ROWSET1>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                               * Data from query 3*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
            <ROWSET1_ROW>
                               * Data from query 3*
            </ROWSET1_ROW>
        </ROWSET1>
        <ROWSET2>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
            <ROWSET2_ROW>
                               * Data from query 7*
            </ROWSET2_ROW>
       </ROWSET2>
       <ROWSET3>
           <ROWSET3_ROW>
                               * Data from query 1*
           </ROWSET3_ROW>
       </ROWSET3>
    </DOCUMENT>So I cannot develop an RTF template to display the data if I do not know where that data will appear in the generated XML.....
    Questions (I will offer several POINTS to anyone who can answer any of these questions!!!!)
    I am using APEX version 3.1
    *1. Why does the report query seem to randomly renumber and reorder the XML data it produces?*
    *2. Is there any way to make the report query output the XML data in the same order that the individual queries are ordered every time?*
    *3. Is there any way to specifically name the rowsets or rowset rows that is supported by APEX?*
    *4. Are there any other methods that I can explore to produce this report?*
    *5. Is this a problem because I am on an old release? Is this not a problem on 4.1?*
    Edited by: bhenderson on Feb 1, 2012 8:22 AM

    Thanks for your response.
    There are 12 separate queries in the report query. Each one is in a separate box on the report queries screen.
    I don't know how to post an image here, but I will try to describe it:
    The first query selects several fields relating to :P5_WIP_ENTITY_ID, which is a Work order. This query is header information about the job and should only return one row.
    The other queries get other information relating to :P5_WIP_ENTITY_ID, like part numbers that may have been issued to that job, purchases made for that job and so on. These queries may return more than one row or may not return anything.
    I have created the queries in the order that I want them to display on the form, however, when the XML is generated, ROWSET1 may have the data from the Header Query one time, then the next time it may have data from the purchase query. In other words, it does not display the data in the order that the queries appear on the report query page, and it seems to reorder the output at random.
    I have looked everywhere I could think of, but there doesn't seem to be any way of connecting or relating the separate queries. I also tried doing separate queries in one box and joining them, but there is a limit of 60 data items you can select from one query box.

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing a possible misbehaviour with OBIEE 10g (10.1.3.4.1).
    I have a simple report with a table. Columns are simply selected from dimensions and facts. In this case the generated query is:
    WITH
    SAWITH0 AS (select sum(T30604.TOTAL_TIME) as c1,
    sum(T30604.MATERIALS_QTT_COST) as c2,
    sum(T30604.AMNT) as c3,
    sum(T30604.QNTY) as c4,
    T30622.BRANCH_CODE as c5,
    T25064.SRP1_CODE as c6,

    group by T25064.SRP1_CODE, T25064.SRP1_DESC, T25064.SRP2_CODE, T30622.BRANCH_CODE)
    select distinct SAWITH0.c5 as c1,

    Anyone experiencing the same problem? The strange thing is that I have a number of similar reports (on other subject areas) and everyting is working fine.
    Please also note that I don't want to add this kind of calculated items in the RPD (they can be simple calculations that are made on-the-fly).
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot and regards,
    Cristina

    I have the same issue, everything OBIEE server generate query using ROW_NUMBER() over () function, it will hardcode Dx.cx = 1, this will cause issue if you have rows of the same distinct value, thus causing missing rows and the final results will be wrong.
    I have open a SR with Oracle Support since March 2011, but till today, they have not resolve the issue yet.
    Hope they solve the issue soon.

  • Dynamic Reports. Runtime parameter passing to Report Query.

    Hi everyone,
    I have developed a report using apex shared components (report query and report layout) along with BI Publisher for report printing in pdf format. the Report template is built using Template Builder for Word. I have configured my Apex4.1 env with BI Publisher 11.
    This report is working fine for hardecode ID ( like REQUEST_ID=10 ).
    to make report dynamic i have made following additions in the report
    I have added
    where clause in report query as WHERE REQUEST_ID = :REQUEST_ID (:REQUEST_ID is the text field in my page).
    Added a text field names :REQUEST_ID to get user input at run time.
    Create a button and add Repot Query URL in its properties.
    When i run the report with some valid value in :REQUEST_ID text field  i did not get expected result infect there is no record getting displayed in the PDF file.
    i think this is not the write way to do this but interestingly im not getting any error.
    please can someone guide me that how can i get this functionality in apex this way or the other ?
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
    the online help will help you on how to build a parameter list at all. For your desired functionality, all you need to do is to have the user pressing a button after he selected the parameters he want to assign values to and then create the parameter list in a PSLQL program unit in Forms.

  • Enhancement Req (v4.0): Report Query- Output Format- Derive from Item

    Brief Introduction
    I have 1 major request I would like to make (and 2 lesser ones). The first, I would like to specify custom available output formats for 'Report Query' objects, as well as Reports Regions, Interactive Reports, etc. I believe that this could easily be an instance setting in the Report Server region of the internal workspace, or per workspace / application. Even if not supported on the system wide level, I would recommend that the "Derived from Item" output format "Return Value" be allowed to be returned unaltered to the Report Server. I know that the type is returned as "_xf", and for my purposes I would REALLY like to be able to get something other than the defaults.
    Use Case
    I am creating a custom JasperReports integration (for which I will be launching a public SaaS beta extremely soon). It uses the standard Apex reporting objects (Queries, Layouts, Print Buttons, etc). JasperReports templates are uploaded as Report Layouts and everything works fine. I am, however, wanting to implement as many output formats as are available to me in Jasper...that means Word 07, Excel 07, ODS, ODT, etc. For the items that take a print server override I can handle this in other ways (even though this appears broken [see below]), but for the standard report queries this isn't available. I would basically like the option to define the set of available output formats for the report server, and what the "_xf" returned for each one is.
    Minor Requests
    - Replace Uploaded Templates: If a template is used often and updated, then it has to be changed everywhere...minor irritation.
    - Customize Report Server URL for the Workspace or Application: For SaaS instances, workspace developers may license or have access to reporting solutions that are not (and should not be) available to all of the Oracle instance's workspaces, or may conflict with a service that is already provided by the instance administrators.
    Broken
    When I use the print server override, with the "Use Headers From" option, it appears that neither my content type, nor my content disposition headers are being sent back to the client. This is the work around solution for the non-standard types issue I am requesting enhancement on, so I would like to know what I can do to get this working immediately.
    Additional Info
    As it stands, if the site is available, feel free to sign up for the beta. The beta keys will be exported soon to the instance and made available. Instructions on setup will also follow:
    https://apex.vendelinc.com/apex/f?p=home

    Hi, please did you get any solution to this issue? I am having similar challenge right now.
    select     EMP.DEPTNO as DEPTNO,
         DEPT.DNAME as DNAME,
         EMP.EMPNO as EMPNO,
         EMP.ENAME as ENAME,
         EMP.JOB as JOB,
         EMP.MGR as MGR,
         EMP.HIREDATE as HIREDATE,
         EMP.SAL as SAL
    from     SCOTT.DEPT DEPT,
         SCOTT.EMP EMP
    where EMP.DEPTNO=DEPT.DEPTNO
    and      DEPT.DNAME =upper(:dname)
    This run perfectly in sql developer, toad, and even inside publisher if I login directly to publisher to create report.
    Generating this same query in shared component query builder and testing it returns no data found. If I remove the last line, it works. but with the last line, it return no data found. It seems no one has been able to provide solution to this issue

  • Shared Components APEX Report Query and Layout

    Does anyone know how to call the report query and layout from the Shared components section from a page within the application?

    mtbdude40 wrote:
    What I need is this:  The ability to create a PDF report with a custom header defining the data (example - select * from emp where deptno = :deptno and the header includes the department name).
    I use this white paper as my source:  http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/learnmore/custom-pdf-reports-1953918.pdf
    You need to build and use a Shared Resource -> Report Queries.
    The Report Query will have two queries associated with it (see below).
    one query will be for the header information, the other will be for the data.
    use the "download" of the "xml data" as your source for Altova/other tools.
    If you add/remove/change queries, You'll have to redo your report (from scratch) as that changes the XML Schema required. (at least, with my experience)
    Once you get the hang of it, 2x queries is easy (Header, data)
    I've experimented with 3x queries (header, master,details) but have been unsuccessful.  I have some ideas though ("link" master->detail info via XPath stuff within Altova) but haven't gotten around to testing it.
    If you want to run the report for multiple departments....That might require some finesse.
    Unfortunately, the Source of the Queries can't be a scalar SQL that returns 1 row of 1 column of data type XMLType....

    It is within the table I believe (I'm not a DBA or a developer) since I created a BLOB column and then used the file browse feature to allow users to attach a resume to the table in order to be able to perform a search of the attached documents.
    I'm just having a hard time pointing the link in the search results report to the document in the blob column.
    The information on that page is great if you're trying to create a link to the document on the initial report.
    But I created a query using Oracle Text to run a report that does a boolean search of the attached word documents in the table.
    When it displays the search results, it doesn't create a link to the document and I can't figure out how to do it.
    Here's a link the the instructions I used to create the initial search report with Oracle Text, mind you I only created the index and query, I didn't add in all the link data since they're using documents on websites and I'm using documents in a table.

    If you can help me with this I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks again.

  • Report-Query Value

    Hi Experts,
    Currently we are using one BW report in 3.5version(report query against multi provider).
    Current issue:
    Cube Fields:
    PO Number: 123
    Order value 100.
    Confirmation value 50
    Final Delivery Indicator: X (YES-No more confirmation is expected)
    Calculation on the Query:
    Outstanding Confirmed Value= Order Value - Net Confirmed Value
    Here Outstanding Confirmed Value = 100-50=50.So in the reports, Outstanding Confirmed Value shows 50.
    But the PO's Final Delivery Indicator is marked. So No more confirmation is expected
    Question:
    I am not able to create any formula against the filed Final Delivery Indicator. But i want to show in the report that if the PO's Final Delivery Indicator marked, then Outstanding Confirmed Value has to be 0(ZERO).
    Please help me achieve this result. Thanks.
    Advance Thanks.
    RR.

    Hi ,
    This can be achived in the following way.
    1. Create your formula
        "Outstanding Confirmed Value= Order Value - Net Confirmed Value" and hide it using the property.
    2. Create one more forumala which will check the condition. i.e. if the Final Delivery Indicator is marked then it will set the outstanding confirmed value as zero else it will show the value which we are getting by using above mentioned formula.
    put the following condition in the formula.
    [Final Delivery Indicator = = 0 ] * 0 + [Final Delivery Indicator <> 0]*Outstanding Confirmed Value
    This will work as follow.
    For example : Outstanding Confrimed Value is 50 and Final Delivery Indicator is marked.
    = [ 0 == 0 ] * 0 + [ 0 <> 0 ] * 50
    = 1* 0 + 0 * 50              " When the condition is satisfied its result is 1. here 0 == 0 condtion is satisfied so its return value is 1.
    = 0
    Hope this will help.

  • Report query with bind variable

    Trying to create a report query for xsl-fo print. For output format I pick "derive from item" then pick the item name from the list, on the next screen, I paste the query with the bind variable. on the next step test query, I always get "data not found" regardless what value I type in. This is the same query that I ran under sql commands without any issues.
    Does anyone run into the same issue as I have when attempted to create a query with bind var ? There is no problem creating a query without bind varibles. . thanks.
    Munshar

    Hi, please did you get any solution to this issue? I am having similar challenge right now.
    select     EMP.DEPTNO as DEPTNO,
         DEPT.DNAME as DNAME,
         EMP.EMPNO as EMPNO,
         EMP.ENAME as ENAME,
         EMP.JOB as JOB,
         EMP.MGR as MGR,
         EMP.HIREDATE as HIREDATE,
         EMP.SAL as SAL
    from     SCOTT.DEPT DEPT,
         SCOTT.EMP EMP
    where EMP.DEPTNO=DEPT.DEPTNO
    and      DEPT.DNAME =upper(:dname)
    This run perfectly in sql developer, toad, and even inside publisher if I login directly to publisher to create report.
    Generating this same query in shared component query builder and testing it returns no data found. If I remove the last line, it works. but with the last line, it return no data found. It seems no one has been able to provide solution to this issue

  • Creating a print button to call a Report Query and pass filters

    If i use the REPORT QUERY option in APEX 4 to create an statement that is the same one used in an interactive report, can I create a link or button to the REPORT QUERY and pass all the session and filter information from the interactive report to the report query?
    This way I can have the interactive report screen where the user can do all sorts of modifications and such and then pass those to the REPORT QUERY so I can call that from a custom link or button.
    You may ask "why does he need another print button?"
    Answer: I am using a view that has some embedded HTML tags to format the output really nicely. The HTML download version created by the interactive reports works beautifully. The customer also wants a PDF version (meh) which does not render the HTML tags and actually echos them as part of the text. I found that I can create another view that uses the CHR function to create all the breaks and such I was doing with HTML and these do render properly in PDF. So, I figured just have 2 reports: 1 Interactive and 1 using a REPORT QUERY. I just want to call the REPORT QUERY version but use the Interactive Search form to set all the parameters.
    Or, am I over thinking this and there is an easier method?
    I made a previous post where I showed how I got the APEX printing to work and i hoped that helped someone out - fixing this issue would put the whole thing to rest.
    Thanks

    Is BI Publisher desktop (MS Word add-in) a possibility? This would allow you to use MS Word to create your output template (RTF) that would result in a properly formatted PDF. Of course, you'd have to right an updated version of the query without HTML embedded. Just thinking outside of the box.

  • Bind Variables and Shared Component Report Query

    I have a query in a region report which I have replicated to a shared component report query.
    Both queries reference page items as bind variables in the where clause.
    The report region on screen shows the correct results but the report query shows "no data". This is the case when running "Test Query" and "Download XML data" from the shared component report query definition. If I hardcode the variable names I get rows returned, If I use bind variables - and specify the values for these variables I get no data. THe XML file contains the tags for each bind variable I have specified but has no data between the tags. I have Ticked the box to include application and session state but it appears that the bind variables are not being used.
    When I use my report query in the application (URL tied to a button) I get the same problem, the binds are not being passed to the report query.
    Can someone please clarify if this is a bug or not? And if not, how can I get it to work.
    I am using Apex 4.0.2
    Thanks
    Kathryn

    Hi
    To confirm, yes I selected the bind variables. I used these in the report layout, but the xml file has them as empty i.e.
    <P0_START_DATE><P0_START_DATE/> with nothing in between.
    IN the Test Query section, if I put real values in the boxes for the bind variables, I get no data found. If I hardcode the values into the query, I get the data.
    I've repeated the create report query many times and have created a report layout in RTF. I can use the layout with my region - in the print attributes and the layout works with the query but I need to create a PDF using 2 queries - ROWSET1 and ROWSET2. I can generate the XML but the values in the rows are all empty. When I use the layout with a report query instead of the region, I get no data even though I have used the same sql and have selected the bind variables. I was using variables from page items on page zero but have also tried using page items on the current page, the result is the same.
    I need to use a report query and a report layout as I need data from 2 queries in the PDF.
    I looked at your demo - what happens if you add a second sql query to the report query - is there any chance I can look at the back end (developer access?)
    Thanks for your input
    Kathryn
