DAC doesn't pickup re-queued tasks

Hi All,
I have this weird problem, where DAC wouldn't pickup queued tasks. A task failed during the ETL and DAC went a head executed remaining tasks. I fixed the problem , changed the status of the task to queued and restarted DAC but it fails with following error message.
Error while loading nodes.
Error while loading step tasks null
Log file shows following error message, which tells me that it doesn't see queued tasks. Strange!!

Click on the Details TAB of the failed tasks(a new winodow would open with the detailed task of the primary task) and then modified the Detailed TAsks status value to QUEUED ----from FAILED.Then Save it and Close the Detailed Task Window. Now change the Failed task Status to QUEUED from Failed,Save it .
Then Start your Run again ,this should Work.

DAC Peer to Peer Merge doesn't pick up new tasks in custom Subject Areas

I have a series of DAC changes spread across a number of different environments and I'm trying to consolidate them into one environment. I can't use a whole repository import/export as I'm trying to put Live hot fixes back into a dev environment that has new processing in it that isn't yet live, so I will loose these changes by reverting this back to the Live release.
These changes are all saved in a custom container. I've been trying to use the Peer to Peer merge function in the Upgrade/Merge wizard and this is picking up some of my changes but not others. I'm using DAC version 10.1.3.4.1.
It is picking up changes to paramaters, changes to tables and tasks fine, but it is not picking up changes to custom subject areas such as a new task being added or removed. Is this an issue that anyone else has seen? Any suggestions on how to get the Peer to Peer to check for this?

I know it's some weird solution but it is working with Win Task Scheduler correctly. Try it ;)
In some cases you need to mark checkbox "run this program as an administrator" and (or not) disable UAC.

DAC Lite maximum number of parallel tasks cannot be more than 5

Hi,
I am getting below error in my DAC server log.
13 SEVERE Wed Feb 13 17:16:50 IST 2008 For DAC Lite the maximum number of parallel tasks cannot be more than 5
14 SEVERE Wed Feb 13 17:16:50 IST 2008 For DAC Lite ETL can be run on only one Informatica Server.
What does this mean? I have just done Oracle BI Apps 7.9.4 installation as per installation document on linux server. Do i need to do any configuration changes to rectify this? I don;t understand why this error is coming. I restarted my server also but still i am getting the same error.
I have only one informatica server installed on DAC server.

Check the settings for your Informatica Server on the DAC Setup View.
There is a Max Sessions variable. What is set to?
To be honest I have never seen this "DAC Lite" entry. Something has not been installed or set up properly.
Is this an installation on Windows or Linux?
If Linux/UNIX I suspect a file was not change to Unix format when it was copied over from Windows and that may be having an impact on things here.

Task Manager Packaged App - edit link doesn't edit the correct task

I'm a relative new-comer to APEX, I downloaded and installed the Task Manager app from the OTN site but it's not working as it should.
I have created a list of tasks, but when I click on the EDIT link (page 3) the task that opens is always the last one created. I've checked the link and it looks OK - P22_ID has a name of #TASKID#
This makes the app unusable, since I can't edit tasks in progress (unless it's the last one created), and I'd rather not re-invent the wheel.
Has anyone got a solution, or can download it and have a look - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#TASK

Unfortunately this solution is inapplicable to my version of the OS as it is 64-bit and not 32-bit. Do you have any other ideas?

Server Admin doesn't show Print Queue status

When I look at my print queues (all 17) under Server Admin, it shows queue name, # of jobs, shared via (IPP & SMB), and printer kind (HP LJ 1022n and HP LJ P2015). It has a column for status, but this is always 100% empty/blank. Also, if I go to the Jobs tab, then I can pick "Jobs on Queue" for all the queues, but the line below for "Queue Status" is again always blank.
Is there something I can do to get this info to show up in Server Admin? I know that CUPS knows the printer status, as I can go to localhost:631 and see the status in the Printers list and the Jobs list.
It isn't life threatening. It is just annoying to have to go to the web page when Server Admin -almost- gets me everything I need to diagnose a teacher's printing problem remotely.

You could always consult the Print Service logs. If you set the logging levels to Debug or Debug2 you should get everything. You have to be a bit careful with this as the log can get quite large. Other than that I don’t know of anything that is available out of the box.
There may be others that can suggest a 3rd party solution that gives you the appropriate feedback you are looking for. Opening port 631 should not be that much of risk I would have thought?

Import from Canon 7D doesn't pickup CR2

I'm running LR 4.1 64bit. I've checked for updates on both that and 64bit CS5. When importing from the camera, LR doesn't copy the CR2 files. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

Ok, where are you copying to? Tried a basic location like the desktop to rule out some kind of permissions issue?
And if you manually copy them to the hard drive and then import using 'add' instead of copy, does that work?

Help - isync doesn`t sync ical-calender task´s to palm task-categories

I am using isync 2.4 and the latest palm-software with a Palm TX.
When I sync ical to the palm, the task will not sync to tasks with a specific category (e.g. @call) at the palm?
Does ical not support categories at palm?
Any solution or hint for that problem would be highly appreciated!

This issue is one of the many long-standing shortcomings of the iSync conduit, and isn't likely to ever be addressed.
You should instead take a look at the Missing Sync for Palm OS which addresses almost all such issues. With an advanced [post Palm OS 5.4] device, it is a virtual necessity.

Since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0, it will not open. It also doesn't show up in Task Manager (Windows XP).

I can't open it from the Start Menu, from my shortcut or clicking directly on the exe. Nothing happens at all.

Click the Firefox button, then Options | Options | Tabs and make sure "Always Show Tab Bar" is checkmarked.
Also, click the Firefox button, go to Add-ons | Extensions and if you see "Ask Toolbar" in there, remove it. There are compatibility issues between the Ask Toolbar and Firefox which will cause this kind of problem.

DAC Task are queued but not running

Hi Everybody,
Currently we are running the ETL for only Financials and there are 394 tasks in total out of which 285 have been completed successfully. At times some of the tasks would just get stuck on particular action. For e.g The analyze task after dimension population would remain in the queued status and would never switch to run mode. So we had to abort the ETL and restart it. This action resulted in successful completion of the previously queued task. Now for past two days the ETL is once again stuck (queued but not running).
For e.g The following task is showing status of running

Does it need the Infomartica workflow manager open? It is open currently open but must have been accidently closed in between.
Informatica services have always been running.

This Sometime happens with DAC.We faced the same issue and had an SR open with Siebel for almost 2 weeks,they Couldnt help us out.
Restart your DAC Server and Do a Dryrun and then run your full ETL .
The Analyze task would not hang anymore.
I dot have any logical reason why this happens,but i am guessing it has to do with some java heap memory.So restarting the Server would free up the memory.(i am guessing but not sure).
But it Works.

DAC task failure: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full

The Incremental DAC load failed yesterday night for two workflows:
SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate
SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_Full
The workflows belong to the Out-Of-Box Container SIL_Vert.
The workflows populate zero records on other regular days, but this is for the first time it resulted in an error during DAC load.
The DAC log doesn't show any detectable error message with the root cause information. But since there were many dependent tasks running on top of it, they all got stopped and henceforth resulting in the DAC failure.

After the first fail of the DAC load due, I marked the task as completed and restarted the Execution Plan again; the load failed again due to the second workflow mentioned above. I repeated the same steps and this time, it ran till the end to complete the load process.
The Informatica Log file for the particular workflow shows:
Message: Use override value [DATAWAREHOUSE.DATAWAREHOUSE.SIL_Vert.SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate.log] for session parameter:[$PMSessionLogFile].
Please suggest us if we can bypass the above mentioned tasks and we can exclude the same from our current Execution Profiles. If the dependencies on these tasks create issues, how do we modulate the same for successful DAC loads going forward. Also please specify the significance of these particular workflows.

This is database dependent command
depending on conncetion type @DAC_SOURCE_DBTYPE
which DAC reads when you define Source database type in Physical datasources,
By default it will invoke the informatica workflkow SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_ORCL
however if your
source is DB2 it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_DB2
source is mSSQL it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_MSSQL
source is Teradata it will invoke workflow: SIL_PositionDimensionHierarchy_AsIsUpdate_TD

DAC - drops indexes in the task but does not create them back

DAC is dropping indexes for a task but not recreating them. The execution plan drop/create checkbox is checked and other tasks' index drop/create is working correctly. Index setup is checked for drop/create as well.
Is there somewhere within DAC that controls this function?

You want a "Drop Box" style folder. You should be able to achieve this by creating a folder and giving it permissions similar to the "Drop Box" folder in your users Public Folder (i.e. write only permissions.)

Iweb publishing to...99% - but doesn't complete the task

I've had no problems w/ iweb on my site, www.usgreenlist.com
until now. The problems began after I deleted a very short blog page and added a snippet on another page to direct some one to a TV program in iTunes.
Now iWeb loads 99% of the way, doesn't do the last update, and doesn't complete the publishing task. and sits...as if it were frozen.
I've looked at iWeb help, I've published 'all' as instructed, instead of just the updates. I have the most updated iWeb.

You can also try quitting iWeb, deleting the file Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist,
restarting your Mac, running Disk Utility to repair permissions and then relaunching and try publishing again.
