Hi,
Can you please post detail DB13 log ?
Backup status Error : 0005 Error during processing
Have you done any change in init<SID>.sap or in tape device connections ?
Check your device configuration (tape) in init<SID>.sap.
Also check if your tape device is working properly..
Regards.

I don't know much about Oracle or TSM but pipe failures are usually associated with network issues. I would check the network connection between your SAP system and TSM and also try find out if there wasn't a problem at the time of the backup(with both the network and TSM server).

RegardsHi,
It is funny that Ora-600 is not passing any valid arguments. For checking it on metalink, you will atleast need the first two arguments. Please check the alert log for any more details..
Also is your system working fine now? and are the offline backups taken successfully? If the backup is failing at a particular datafile then I would suggest to check that file for any possibl block corruptions using RMAN check of DBV..

Hi gurus!!!
I got into a problem with some datafiles.
We have MySAP in a BD oracle 9.2.0.6
I used Oracle Entreprise Manager Console to generate two datafiles in the tablespace PSAPPRDUSR,
but I generated them in another tablesapce (PSAPPRD) with a name of file,
size and location very different from those that there uses the tablespace PSAPPRD.
<b>So... I put them offline later to erase them later!!!</b>
<b>The datafiles contains no data.</b>
<b>Later, in the night backup:</b>
BR0334W Status of database file /oracle/PRD/sapdata4/prdusr_2/prdusr.data2 is RECOVER
BR0334W Status of database file /oracle/PRD/sapdata4/prdusr_2/prdusr.data2a is RECOVER

<b>
And now... I neither can erase them nor can put online again.</b>
<b>To erase them I used:</b>
SQL> ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '/oracle/PRD/sapdata4/prdusr_2/prdusr.data2' OFFLINE DROP;
Database altered.
SQL> commit;
But they continue there, do not resign.
<b>To put them online:</b>

<b>But we have continued working and I don't want to lose any data.</b>
HEEEELP!!!!
What I can do to recover the datafiles and to continue with my daily Online backups?
The BD is in production and I do not have long time to fix it, only a few hours on Saturdays night.Hi,
alter database datafile offline drop;
This command is not meant to drop a datafile. It is meant to offline the datafile with the intention of dropping the tablespace.
For a tablespace comprising multiple datafiles you can only drop a datafile by dropping the entire tablespace, this will work even you have one datafile.
If you have 10gr2, it's finally possible to drop a datafile as long as
it's not the only datafile within the tablespace, and
the tablespace is only and in read-write status.
So since you are on 9i your situation in summary:
If you have more than one datafile in the tablespace and you wish to keep the objects that reside in the other datafile(s) which are part of this tablespace, then you must export all the objects inside the tablespace.
1. Gather information on the current datafiles within the tablespace by running some query to remember the t/s, segment, and datafile info.
2. Export all the objects that you wish to keep.
3. Once the export is done, issue the DROP TABLESPACE <tablespace name> INCLUDING CONTENTS.
4. Delete the datafiles belonging to this tablespace using the operating system.
5. Recreate the tablespace with the datafile(s) desired, then import the objects into that tablespace.
Hope this helps and good luck,
George -

I am taking daily online backup from DB13 with the option"database backup+redolog file" on a tape medium.If I want to restore this taken backup what is the procedure and commands to be used
Hi Diego,
Move to your sap backup folder and execute the following commands
$ at now/usr/sap/SID/sys/exe/brrestore -c force -b -m fullc trl+d
will give you the output at what time it is going to start. to check the job running or not
$ ps -ef | grep br
it will show the job which is running .....To recover online redologs, you need to start your database in mount mode and execute the following command
Recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
If you want to reset logs...
Alter database open reset logs.
Hope this helps you
And also you can use brtools to restore instead of command level.
Thanks

Stop CIF queues always during online Backup on SCM system
Hello,
On Upgrade Guide "SAP SCM 5.1 ABAP UNIX Oracle Version 1.00" under
chapter 3.4 --> Backup before prepare JAVA we found this :
"Before performing a database backup, you have to stop the CIF queues in your
SAP SCM system in order to ensure a consistent recovery state."
Is this relevant for every online backups (also outside from Upgrading)?
Should we stop the CIF queues on daily online backups too? Or is this a special-feature during Upgrade?
BR
Ray PuruckerHello,
Do you have above said log file available ?
Instead of the option 'Overflow log path', did you try rollforward with the option of timestamp (point in time) (till the time you have the log files) Or with the option overflow log path but with 'NORETRIEVE' as well ?
For the query status command, Last committed transaction time stamp is not what you thought.
Please revise the command options,
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v8/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.udb.doc/core/r0001978.htm
'It is looking for log file S0000XXX.LOG whose time stamp is older than the time stamp of online backup.'
If you want to restore only until the online backup, then use the option End of Backup and stop - to rollforward until the last log when backup was in progress
Thanks -

MaheswarHi mahesh,
If you are using backup feature from crx console, I mean http://localhost:4502/crx/config/backup.jsp I can say that we had also some problems with this functionalities.
First off all what you need to check are the permissions, because when you check a source code there is line which creates a File object using a path specified by you to make a backup of repository.
File targetDir = new File(req.getParameter("targetDir", listDir.getParentFile().getAbsolutePath()));
You need to have sure that the proper read write access has been granted for this path.
Another issue is that maybe there was already prepared some hotfix if you are using CQ5.4. Please refer to the following link:
http://dev.day.com/content/kb/home/Crx/CrxSystemAdministration/CRXOnlineBackup.html
and also to this one:
http://dev.day.com/content/docs/en/crx/current/release_notes/overview.html which contains a hotfix number #34797 which was applied to backup.jsp file.

Verizon Online Backup and Sharing Error Message
Started getting Verizon Online Backup and Sharing error message at startup about two weeks ago and can't connect via VISS. Anybody else out there having this issue? Tried downloading update but can't open the file. Also seems to be affecting VIHA. - takes forever to open. Heard syncNshare has been hacked. Is this true?
Sorry to hear about the problems with your Verizon software. So we can get more information from you, I have copied your post to our private support board. Please refer all correspondences to there from here on out. You can easily get to the private support one of two ways. In the email you signed up for the forums with, you will receive a link to click on. Make sure you are already signed into the forums before clicking on this link. Another way of getting there is by clicking on your username anywhere you see it in the forums. This brings you to your account profile. Scroll down to the section labeled "My Support Cases" . In there you will see the link to your case.

Please provide some Input for the same .
Regards,
Nimish BhatnagarHi Nimish,
Check out OSS note 35278, 445038 and 400241.
Can you please check
R3trans -d and get the log of trans.log
remove any old trans.log if you have any at that location.
if that doen't help try R3trans -x and get the log. Both write the log in file trans.log
Try the command "recover database".

Online Backup Problems - DOA Error
Hi all!
I tried to establish an online backup for one of my Testservers. I configured the init<SID>.ora in the same way as the file is configured on an other Server (Backup works fine there).
In addition I adapted the parameter-file.
Are there any other configurations have to be done?
The Backup should be performed by an other Server.
The Backuputility (BAckupExec 10) allready starts the BAckupJob but this Job fails (without any Error -> I canceled the job after 30 Minutes without writing data...)
I planned the Job in DB13 - attached the second PArt of the Log!
Perhaps somebody can give me a hint to solve the Problem!
Would be great to solve that,
Alex
