Ok, here's the deal........I don't know !
I went to my registry (Crystal 11+, runnning on my own machine (XP Pro) against db2)
and there's something like "NRecords *" and a value of 500.  The link I sent you is for
Crystal 9.  I didn't have a "Database" entry in the keys, but there was something similar...Database Server or
First Database, Second Database, swing batta swing....ok, well, anyway...
The good thing is, someone smarter than both of us will come along sooner now 'cause we've 'cause
a little traffic.  Until then, my suggestion is to go back to the registry, follow it to something like crystal/....database
and look for something like "Thread" or "NReports" that has a numberic value....probably something even numbered
like 100 or 500.  Save the registry first !!...then change this value to something much higher.
If you were creating the report object in code, I think you could just "Close" the connection object
as soon as the report is displayed and not have to worry about it.
Well, there's my worthless 2 cents.  Good luck on it and I'll look forward to learning something on this one

    Hello,
    I have installed Oracle 10g 64bit client on Windows 2008 R2 64bit server. I have installed Visual studio framework 2.0 and 3.5 on Application Server i.e. Windows 2008 R2 64bit Server.
But when i run report from server, it shows following error message :
*Logon failed. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\testreport {FE5A4BC0-DF74-4E58-87F1-0F203501A3FC}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.*
I have created report with design time connection with oracle 10g tables. It runs in my development machine. but when i deployed on windows 2008 r2 bit server, it raised above error. After that, i created another report with command instead of using design time database connection with table, it run on server smoothly.
So Pls help me to come out from this problem.
If anyone has solution for it, pls share it
    Thanks in Advance
    Keyur

Today I installed all software in following order.
    1) First install oracle 10g 32bit client & 64bit client on windows 2008 R2 development server.
    2) After oracle installation, I installed visual studio 2005 and tested crystal report on server in debug mode. It was working completely.
(Both type of report - report created with the help of command in crystal report & crystal report created in direct reference of database table)
Then i published my test project and setup on same server for clientside testing. but on client machine, it shows error message.
that was : The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception.
One more thing i have observed that was report created with help of command in crystal report was working on client machine. But report in which i have added table direclty, was generating above error.
Then i installed crredist2005_x86.msi and crredist2005_x64.msi from visual studio installed folder. After installation, error message changed on clinet machine.
Error Message : Logon failed. Details: Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\tablesource {EE65A074-2C4E-43DE-A3FC-1FE673093BF1}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters
Still in debug mode on server, asp.net project is working with crystal report. I think, when i run asp.net project in debug mode on server, project may be run on 32bit mode. When i run same project from published setup on client machine, it may be run on 64bit mode.
I can't understand how to solve this problem.
    Pls. help me.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Getting Logon Failed error connecting to SAP R/3 with Crystal

I have Crystal Reports 2008 and also the SAP Integration Kit installed on my desktop.  I've imported the transports into my DEV and QAS systems and am trying to connect directly to R/3 from Crystal using the SAP Table, Cluster or Function choice.
    I receive the error:
Logon failed.  Details: You do not have the necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system.  Please check with your system administrator.
I'm using a logon that has full rights within SAP.  It recognizes my password because when I try a password that I know is wrong I get a different error message: Logon failed. Detail: Name or password is incorrect.  I receive the same error in PRD even though I have not imported the transports into that client.
I have Crystal Server but am not trying to use that at the moment.  Just Crystal Reports as a standalone product.  If I've left something out please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Kevin Scheeler

    Hi Kevin,
take a look at the Installation Guide for the SAP Integration Kit which includes a detailed list of authorizations per use case in the appendix

  • Crystal 2011 getting Logon failed IM004 error when using ODBC (RDO)

I just installed Crystal Reports 2011 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  Sporadically, but way too often (I would estimate about 60% of the time), when I go to set up an ODBC (RDO) connection or refresh an existing report and enter the password, I get the following error:
    Logon failed.
Details: IM004:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_Handle_ENV failed
Other times, it just works, with no changed made.  It seems to work slightly more often when using the SQL Server driver (the one for SQL 2000) as opposed to the SQL Native Client or SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drivers.  But not often enough for that to be the solution.
I have tested this with a locally installed SQL Server (on the same machine as Crystal Reports) and remote SQL Servers, with SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008.  Same results.
I have Crystal Reports 2008 installed on the same machine and have not once had this problem.  I have tried using the same ODBC connections I already had from Crystal 2008 with Crystal 2011 and also to create new ones, same results either way.
Is this a known issue, or is there a switch/setting I need to change to make this work consistently?  I am especially puzzled by the fact that it seems random, I have not been able to find any pattern at all.

    Hi Victoria,
MS SQL Server 2008 has a client install now, the MDAC/WDAC doesn't install it as MS used to do with all of their OS's. CR also had to update the use of SQL Server 2008 to include the SQLNCLI10 client engine.
I suggest, if you have not already, install the Native 10 client from either the SQL Server CD or you can download the MSI from MS's site and only use the Native 10 driver.
MS kind of dropped ODBC and moved to OLE DB. The native client actually uses the OLE DB driver so using ODBC just puts another layer on top of OLE DB anyways. It's more convenient to use ODBC for deploying applications but it can affect performance.
Anyways, as noted, CR 2011 is still in Ramp up mode so this issue may have been tracked. If not though you can purchase a support case, if it's a bug then you'll get a refund, if it's a limitation in MS then no refund.
    There is [SP 1 for CR 2011|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007683092011E/cr2011sp1.exe] - http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
Seems to be a problem with that page right now so try again later... and apply SP 1 or wait until it goes GA and test again. If it's still an issue then you can log a case.
Firefox just got updated and it's failing, IE works though...
    Thanks again
    Don

  • "logon failed" error when connecting to XML data source

I have an HTTP source that generates XML. I have a schema that describes this XML. If I save the XML to a local file it works fine as a data source with the schema. However, when I try to access the same data via HTTP, I get the following error:
    Logon failed.
    Details: Cannot open file
Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://localhost:8004/report.xqy?Validate%20XML=0&Use%20WS-Security%20Config%20File=&WS-Security%20File%20Location
However, if I enter that URL in a browser it works fine. And even if I disable security on the HTTP source, it produces the same error.
I have tried a local HTTP source as well as the same source running on Amazon EC2.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help.
I am new to crystal reports, so I do not understand your suggestion. Both of those points look like they are related to Adobe Flash.
I am trying to create a report using the standard report creation wizard:
    1) new, standard report
    2) create  new connection
    3) xml and web services
    4) xml data source
When using the sample from the SAP site, it works fine:
    http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/downloads/samples/cr/customer_db/customer.xml
When connecting to my source from a browser, it works fine. When using my source as a local document instead of over http it works fine. It is only when connecting to my source over http that I get the failed logon error.

  • Logon failed error when pushing data from dataset

    Hi,
I am trying to embed a Crystal report in an ASP.NET 2005 web page, but every time I run the page I get the following error:
Logon failed. Details: crdb_adoplus : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Error in File C:\DOCUME1\PB_IT_AN\ASPNET\LOCALS1\Temp\DIPSummary {DC347D6B-44F8-441F-8940-4A16ACB54E76}.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.
I have set up the report using a simple xsd schema in my project which corresponds to the data being extracted from the database (SQL Server 2000) elsewhere within the project.  This is being populated into a datatable (dtPCDipSummary) which is then put in a dataset and used as the data source for the report.  My code is as follows:
                    DSDipSummary.Tables.Add(dtPCDipSummary);
                    oRpt.Load(Server.MapPath("DIPSummary.rpt"));
                    oRpt.SetDataSource(DSDipSummary);
                    crvDIPSummary.ReportSource = oRpt;
                    crvDIPSummary.DataBind();
I don't understand what the report is trying to log on to, as the only thing it points to is the schema definition within the project - no reference to an external database.
I have scanned through numerous references to the same error on the internet and tried everything I thought might help but without success.
Please can someone point me in the right direction to get a solution to this?

I deleted the report completely and rebuilt it from scratch, and also added names for the data table and data set generated within the project and finally, success!
Jason, thanks so much for your help which got me moving on this again.

  • Logon failed when connecting to XML data source over HTTP

I am trying to create a report using the standard report creation wizard:

    3) xml and web services
    4) xml data source

    http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/downloads/samples/cr/customer_db/customer.xml
I have an HTTP source that generates XML. I have a schema that describes this XML. If I save the XML to a local file it works fine as a data source with the schema. However, when I try to access the same data via HTTP, I get the following error:

However, if I enter that URL in a browser it works fine. And even if I disable security on the HTTP source, it produces the same error.
Does the URL for the HTTP data source have to conform to some specific pattern? For example, must the URL end in .xml?

  • Logon failed when connecting to Crystal Reports XI

    Hello
Is there anyone who can help me on the above?  Well here is the problem am facing for couple of days and am trying all the R&D but in vein.
Am trying to connect Crystal Reports XI but am getting logon error when making a connection to the database.  The datasource used is OLE DB and throws an error "Logon failed.Details:IM006:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed"
    How do I resolved this?
    Regards
    Caiveru

    Hey Cauvery,
Just check whether ther required database drivers are installed properly, where the SQL might be your database.
Try with other type of  connection and check .
As some database's wont allow specific type of connections.
    Thanks,
    Naveen.

  • Crystal Reports XI R2 - Cannot Create Datasource to SalesForce - Logon Fail

I am the salesforce.com administrator for our company and wanted to utilize Crystal Reports.  However, whenever I try to create a data source connection to Salesforce.com within Crystal Reports XI R2 (with the latest Crystal Reports Report Pack for SalesForce.com installed), I receive the following error:
    Logon failed.
Details: Please check your username and password.
I'm using the following credentials: Server = www.salesforce.com, Salesforce UserID = my full salesforce userID, Salesforce password = my salesforce password.  Whenever I use the very same credentials to log directly into salesforce, I'm granted access.
I've granted access to all Crystal Reports server IP address ranges as noted in another, but still have had no success.  Could this be a firewall related issue.  If so, does anyone know what ports and protocols need to be opened  (we have a hardware firewall solution in place)?
Edited by: Chris Zumwalt on Nov 12, 2008 11:40 PM

    Hi Chris,
You will be able to get more details of the logon error by logging onto salesforce.com and navigating to your user's properties page (Setup > My Personal Infomation > Personal Information).  At the bottom of this page, there's a history of your logon attempts.  It'll probably look like this:
Login Time     Source IP     Login Type     Status
    12/11/2008 4:17:04 EST PM     127.0.0.1     Application     Success
12/11/2008 4:16:49 EST PM     127.0.0.1     Partner Product     Failed: API security token required
Crystal Reports is a Partner Product, and the status column will tell you the actual reason the logon failed.  Most likely it's the same reason as above: "API security token required".  Partner applications require that you login using the security token, or alternatively they are running on a machine with an IP that is in your Network Access whitelist.  Just because you can login to salesforce.com through the browser doesn't necessarily mean that it will work in Crystal Reports designer.
Instructions on using the security token are [here|https://trust.salesforce.com/trust/security/identity_feature.html].
To access Salesforce via a desktop application or other API-based application, you must replace your current password with a combination of your password and a security token:
1 Log in to Salesforce via the browser to request your security token.
2 Go to Setup -> My Personal Information -> Reset Security Token.
3 Click the Reset Security Token button to trigger an email which will contain your security token.
4 Select and copy the token from the email.
5 In the application, replace your password with combination of the password and the security token. For example, if your password is "MyPassword" and your security token is "XXXXXX", you would enter "MyPasswordXXXXXX" into the password field.
    Hope this helps.

  • DAO Logon failed error

In one of our clientu2019s machine they are getting a logon failed error u201CCannot open a database created with a previous version of your application.u201D Our report is connecting to multiple tables created in Access 97 password protected database using DAO native connection. In one of the reports that uses single table if I will create a recordset and pass it as the datasource it works fine. I cannot apply this to the other reports since it is using several tables and subreports with a link to the main table. I added a code to test the connectivity on each table after I set the location and password and it fails. Can you please help me figure out why the report cannot connect to each table and what causing this logon failed error?

Ok so to clarify how was that report originally created, off the tables or off the dataset?
Because using one or the other requires code to update the report itself if changing. Setting the report to a dataset doesn't require logon info. And at the same time setting a report based on a DS to a DB does require logging on.
Next, can anyone, even the DBA who has full access, run that report? CR fully supports DB security, so if the user does not have access to the tables in the report then you will get an error.

  • Logon Failed DAO Error Code Oxccb

I received a new project for the creation of a Crystal Report in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.  I created the report, but then my boss decided to modify the spreadsheet.  I saved his new file as the same name as the old file and said replace.  Then I decided to move the newly updated file to a shared drive so he could make any future changes directly to that file, and all I would have to do is hit u201Crefreshu201D.  It seemed like such a good idea, but now I have trouble.  I am getting an error that says: u201CLogon failed.  Details:  DAO Error Code:  Oxccb.  Source:  DAO Workspace.  Description:  Unexpected error from external database driver (22).u201D  When I back out of the dialog boxes, I am left with 0 records, a blank report, and a state of panic.  What did I do wrong, and how can I fix this?  Help!

Can you try placing the file in your local machine instead of share location and check the output by pointing the connection to the file in local machine?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ychinnari,
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible, please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
    Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Crystal report logon Failed Error

    Dear All
We have installed BOBJ Edge 3.1 Server at Windows Server.
We insalled Crystal Report 2008 at one of our Laptop.  (Client).
When we tried to create a sample report,
we selected a existing universe from the BOBJ Server.  When we selected it ask me for the server connection details. It connected and showed me the existing unverses.
I selected say eFashion - and picked some fields and Click OK.
Then it givs logon failed error.
Can some one explian me where i am missing
    REgards,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
If the Universe is based off an ODBC connection, then the same ODBC connection (with the same name) needs to be present on the client machine too.
So, like Don suggested, the client machine would need the same DB client too.
Open the Universe in the Universe Designer. Go to File > Parameters > Edit. This is where you see all the connection information of the Universe.
