  • BI Publisher Report can only seen when logged in as Admin

    Hi gurus,
    We have OBIEE is set up on Windows 2003 server and configured to use Active Directory (AD) authentication. In one of the dashboards, we have a BI Publisher Report embedded. This was working fine until we configured the BI Server to use AD.
    After the AD config, when logged in any user other than Administrator, the BI Publisher reprot throws up the error " Login Failed. Please contact Administrator for Username & Password".
    All the required roles have been created on BI Server and granted to the requird users. I am at loss with this error.
    Any help will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Did you create an Open Firmware password as well? If not then just insert the OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive and restart the computer. After the chime press and hold down the 'C' key until the spinning gear appears below the dark gray Apple logo.

  • LC_NUMERIC and LC_TIME bash warning when logging into TTY

    I recently re-installed Arch after bouncing around a few distributions, and ever since I completed the install, I've had the following error when logging in to the TTY (only there, never noticed it anywhere else).  Specifically, the error reads:
    -bash: warning: setlocale: LC_NUMERIC: cannot change locale ()
    -bash: warning: setlocale: LC_NUMERIC: cannot change locale ()
    -bash: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale ()
    -bash: warning: setlocale: LC_TIME: cannot change locale ()
    Output of locale:
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8
    LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"

    LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_ALL=
    locale -a
    C
    en_US.utf8
    POSIX
    en_US.UTF-8 is also uncommented in locale.gen, and it's been generated.  I haven't gotten any locale errors in any application I use, and it only appears before the prompt after logging in to a TTY screen.  I've also not set those variables to anything else in /etc/profile, /etc/bash.bashrc, .profile/.bashrc.  Logging into the root user instead of my user account does not result in the errors.  Also, it seems from the error that the locales are being set to "", and I can't for the life of me figure out where it's coming from.  I've searched the forums for similar problems, and most of these errors included warnings about files and folders not existing, which doesn't happen here, and were resolved by re-generating the locale (I've tried it, no change).  The only one that came close was an old forum thread about guarddog generating a different set of locale's using incorrect locale definitions, which resulted in the same errors.  If anyone has a suggestion as to how to fix this (or a handy trick for finding all files where locales are set), I'm open to them.

    An update:
    I've tried explicitly exporting both variables with en_US.UTF-8 in my bashrc, which has resulted in no change whatsoever.  Checking the value of these variables from my running system yields an empty return (i.e. the variables aren't set).  Can someone let me know if these variables are set on their system?  If they are, I'll see if I can set them manually and if that resolves the issue.

  • Can't open AI VIs when logged in as a restricted user

    I have a VI that does simultaneuos analog I/O (LabVIEW 6.1, Windows XP). This VI works fine when I am logged in as administrator, but when I try to run this VI from a restricted user account LabVIEW can't find the AI VIs (AI Config, Start, Clear and Read). All AO VIs can be found. I have changed the restricted user's permissions to the National Instruments folder to full control, as described in http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/BB393E7B361E939886256EFD007AC591 but I still can't run my VI.
    Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

    Thank you for your answer.
    Unfortunately I can't try your solution on the computer where the problem occurred because it is used in another course for the moment and is therefore not available. But I tried to recreate the problem on another computer. I created a restricted account and when logged in on that account I opened my VI and it worked fine... (all subVI:s were found). By default, the restricted account had Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read permissions for the MAX folder. So, I then unchecked the Allow-boxes in an attempt to recreate the problem, but the VI still worked on the restricted account. Then I checked the Deny-boxes for the permissions mentioned above, but the VI still worked. Since I couldn't recreate the problem I don't know if your solution is the right one, but at least I can draw the conclusion that it is possible to run my VI from a restricted account.
    But I will try your solution on the computer where the problem occurred when it is available and I will let you know whether the problem was solved or not.

  • How do I disable "reopen windows when logging back in"

    Everytime I shutdown the mac asks me "reopen windows when logging back in". In fact the default is to do reopen all open programs when I restart. he annoying thing with apple is that when you close a window like Safari and iPhoto the program itself is not closed unless you spend extra time to go and QUIT each program. So naturally at least Mail and Safari are up when I'm ready to shutdown. On a other days MS Word, Excel and iPhoto are open as well. This is annoying to have to remember to QUIT everything when I'm sleepy before shutting down. Mac is supposed to be convenient not tedious. Please stop asking me if I want to reopen on logging back in. And worse yest stop assuming that this is the default action. Someone please help!

    You can uncheck the option box on the shut down screen. Or you can use a terminal command to disable it completely. Or you can get in the habit of using Command+Q (No Caps on the Q, Command+q) to shut down programs that you no longer need running. And if you get in that habit of using Command+q you don't need to close the window or windows that are open for that program. Command+q will close the program and the active window/s.
    EDIT:
    Here is a site that give you the command to disable this annoying ?FEATURE?.

  • What is :  walletagent://Safari  keeps coming up when 'logging in' any website

    what is :  walletagent://Safari ?  it keeps coming up when 'logging in' any website. I then have to "page back" and enter passwords again etc.  I know it has nothing to do with "Wallet" Software. So where does it come from? and how get rid of it?
    Thanks,
    <Email Edited By Host>

    From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
    Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

    We have arabic language installed in the satellite system.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Srikishan,
    Thank you so much for the prompt reply and I have been able to resolve the issue with the hint you gave.
    We dont have Arabic language installed on solution manager, but in the RFC destination <SM_<SID>CLNT<XXX>_BACK> the logon language was empty, I maintained that with the default language "EN" and it worked.
    once again thanks a lot for the solution.

  • Fn key can not work when logged in as a specific user

    I use fn + (F1-F12) to control my MBP(adjust brightness etc). This setting works well for more than a year.
    Recently, when I logged into my user account, I found I can not use fn+(F1-F12) to adjust setting anymore. When I press fn + f1, the result is equivalent to just press f1 without holding the fn key.
    The fn key can work well when I am in the login screen, but after I type my password and press enter, the fn key will not function anymore. Even logout can not help.
    If I log into another user (guest or newly created user), the fn key can work well. If I log into my account first, then another user, the fn key will be disabled until I reboot my machine.
    It seems that my user account launched some weird applications that disabled my fn key.
    I tried to disable as many login items as I can, but the problem still remains.

    Thank you for your answer.

  • Adobe defaulting "stay logged on" is a security issue

    Why is it that when logging on to these forums, the checkbox for staying logged on is turned on by default?  It doesn't even check a cookie or preference to determine the state of the checkbox - it just automatically is switched "on".
    This is a security issue.  It doesn't matter if the user is logging on from their own private computer, or from a public computer, this is a security issue that should be addressed.
    ^_^

    You don't have to be worried about this. These forums will log you out after some time when your system is idle with no activity at all.  Some times I have to login 3 times when I am on these forums.  Security is their highest priority  and up to now they can be commended for what they have done over the last two years.

  • Suggestion for default arch logging behavior

    Okay let me throw this out there and see what comes back...
    Every Linux distribution I have used (apart from arch) has a boot log file enabled by default, or provides a simple Yes/No flag to turn the feature on.
    Arch does not.  Moreover, I have searched the forums and posted a question or two myself about the topic.  No one seems to know the answer, and a lot of responses seem to indicate that, amongst the arch community, the possibility of a boot log file is treated like: a) something that no one in their right mind would want, or b) something that maybe, might be useful, but that no one can figure out how to implement.
    What is this?  What is going on?  Arch has a bootlogd binary in /sbin/.  Presumably there is no reason why it won't actually work, but no one seems to know where to put the call to the binary, or why they would put it there.
    This seems like an easy-to-add feature that a developer or moderator (anyone who really knows the system layout well) could make the default for future installs.  It just makes a text file that is a) not large, and b) can be very useful at times.
    So how about it?  Why not make this part of the default arch logging set up?  (and of course explain what you did that worked.)

    tomk:
    Sorry to disclose my ignorance, but I'm not sure how to do that.
    What I have been doing though is trying to see in more detail how it is done on a debian system which I have access to.  Here is what I've learned so far:
    There are not that many references to bootlogd on the system, so it might be possible (for me) to track down what is going on:
    root@wave32p:/etc# locate bootlogd
    /etc/default/bootlogd
    /etc/init.d/bootlogd
    /etc/init.d/stop-bootlogd
    /etc/init.d/stop-bootlogd-single
    /sbin/bootlogd
    /usr/share/man/man8/bootlogd.8.gz
    1) "/etc/default/bootlogd" must be edited (trivially) such that a "No" becomes a "Yes"  -- this seems like just a master switch.
    2) the man files are exactly the same on the two systems, and the output of "/sbin/bootlogd -v" is the same on the two systems, however the size of the bootlogd binary itself is not the same on both systems (larger on debian64 system).  not sure what to make of that, but it is not what I was hoping to see.
    3) the script "/etc/init.d/bootlogd" runs with (eg.) a "start/stop" flag, the same as most "functions" under arch that have scripts associated with them.
    4) it would seem that I have to grind my way through the above script if I'm going to make any progress.  I'm doing that in my spare time at the moment, though it's a challenge since it's been a few years since I've written bash scripts on a regular basis.  FYI, here is the /etc/init.d/bootlogd script verbatim (additional note:  the option -r (below) is supported on the arch version of the bootlogd binary, but the -c option does not seem to be...interesting?  Here is the man page entry for -c: "Attempt  to  write to the logfile even if it does not yet exist.  Without this option, bootlogd will wait for the logfile to appear before attempting to write to it.  This behavior prevents
                  bootlogd from creating logfiles under mount points."):

    When logging in into yahoo mail after typing in password Firefox is adding something, probably remembered password and login fails all the time. At yahoo mail Notepad does not work because it is impossible to close the list of items and they cover information, so I have to go to IE.

    Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
    Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

    i currently have a macbook 2.1xersion 10.6.8 and want to update. what can it support? Everything i try, it won't support! I can't even download IPhoto! I can't open anything in my ICloud account either! its not on my current browser nor am i able when logging onto my ICloud account. Can anyone give me some advice besides buying a newer laptop?

    Lion 10.7.5 is as far as you can go. You must have at least 2 GBs of installed RAM.
    Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
    You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
    If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    Upgrading to Lion
    If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
    You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. Or you can order directly on the online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • User settings to access network when logged on as service/batch

    Hi.
    We have been running Oracle Remote Agent (running external jobs on other host) on some linux-distros and have now started to do it on Windows as well.
    But when we have setup everything properly, we get an 'Access denied' when trying to access the network from the Remote Host.
    The way it works, in the database, you set up a credential with a user name and password. This information is then sent to the ETL (Remote Agent) which then starts the process as the user supplied in credentials.
    So the service it self is running as Local Service and then starts a process as another user. Technically, how this is done on Windows I don't know...
    Anyhow, the process starts fine and if we are not trying to access the network, it works fine.
    But as soon as we are trying to access a network share using UNC path (\\192.168.1.10\share\directory), we get an 'Acces is denied'
    The user we are using is an administrator. When doing a desktop login, this user can access the share without any problem.
    Is there any other settings/policy/property the user must have to be able to access the network when logged on but not from the desktop?
    Cheers
    Richard

    Have you checked the security logs on 192.168.1.10?
    You should see the entries showing what account is attempting to log on through a network connect.  You may need to grant the User Right for "Allow Access from Network" and you may be having basic folder permission errors.
    I'm curious if the process is using the machine account to hit the share or if it's the user account you're starting the process with.

  • Hello, I have a macbook pro late 2011 15 inch with 4 gb ram. My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Is there a fix?

    My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Furthermore, when just using safari to watch streaming television, my computer gets really slow, and locks up, and the dock appears blank and I sit here frustrated. Anytime i wake up my computer, my keys don't respond and I've waited at most 3 minutes untill i can type in my password. Even sometimes when i type in my password and hit enter, it takes forever to open up my mac. I have barely used any storage in my macbook, since i only use it for college, and I have run clamscan wiht no viruses showing... Any ideas?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
