Dashboard features - display graphs and reports

I need to dynamically display contents of a report (in a Word document) in a "dashboard" format, as opposed to simply posting the document
in a library and having users open on their desktop. This would ideally eliminate the need for me to do something like cut/paste text into a CEWP, and would instead be able to display certain sections or pages of a document. Any suggestions for how to do this?
(SP 2007 and 2010)

1. In a Word document?
   - you MIGHT be content with the results of an embedded Excel file... but it's probably not going to give you the experience you are looking for
   - there is NOTHING built-in that will AUTOMATICALLY go out and perform data queries when you open files... this is akin to macros, which were a huge source of viruses, back before they were BLOCKED BY DEFAULT.
2. If you want it in the PAGE, consider using the BI features (PerformancePoint, Reporting Services, Excel Services).

        GROUP BY DECODE(name,NULL,0,1)

    SELECT DECODE(ind,0,'Count os Unassigned=','Count of Assined=') ||
TO_CHAR(SUM(counter)) FROM x GROUP BY ind;Replace your_table with whatever your table is called.

  • Trying to install features for PowerPivot and Reporting Services from SQL Server 2012 with SP2, but no access to key?

    Hi,
I had installed SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot on WFE and App Server. This is test farm with 1 WFE and 1 APP and 1 SQL Server.
However, we had a heap of issues with Windows Claims Authentication and PowerPivot - issues were raised with "unable to make a connection to EntityDataSource" . Now we uninstalled the PowerPivot and Reporting Services features and wanted to install
with the SQL Server 2012 with SP2. Originally SP2 was installed seperately and we had read there had been issues.
Anyway on trying to install the features again using the SQL Server 2012 with SP2 iso I get
    Could not open key UNKNOWN\Components
I don't want to start deleting or changing permissions as quite dodgey. What is this key for anyway and how do I resolve my issue.
    Thanks.
    John.

    Hi John,
Did you meet the error message during the process of configuring the PowerPivot for SharePoint?
If yes, I suppose that the existing features or components have not been uninstalled completely.
I recommend to delete the two keys left when uninstalling the PowerPivot and please make a copy of the registry keys before you delete the two keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\15.0\WSS\ServiceProxies\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Sharepoint.Integration.MidTierServiceProxy
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\15.0\WSS\ServiceProxies\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Sharepoint.Integration.MidTierServicea
Please check the steps in the link below to see if there anything wrong when you uninstalling the PowerPivot and then re-install it to see how it works:

Maybe you should try Cewolf which is a chart tag library based on JFreeChart to generate all kinds of charts in a JSP. See http://cewolf.sourceforge.net.

  • Scheme for Displaying Graphs in Host.VI using SIT?

I am wondering how others tackle the problem of displaying graphs and other indicators mapped from the the .dll running in RT to indicators on the Host.VI when you cannot edit anything in the "green" area on the host that is autogenerated with SIT Connection Manager.
My problem is that if I have 15 graphs and 50 indicators (just a guess right now, but I would think this wouldn't be uncommon for other users) I cannot display them all on the Host.VI at once besides filling a gigantic area that I have to scroll through.  A better approach would be to use queus or variables to pass between other .VIs to categorize different pages of graphs that the Host.VI can call, but I cannot edit anything in this mysterious green area so I cannot save the data to any kind of structure.
Ideas?  I am still new to LabVIEW so there may be an SIT trick that is obvious that I don't know about.
    Thanks!

    Hi gdubb85,
As far as the "green" uneditable area is concerned, there is actually nothing that restricts you from editing or modifying the code in those areas. The reason they are different from the rest of the code is that that area will be rescripted (i.e. overwritten) if you change anything in the SIT Connection Manager. So, you can edit those areas if you wish, but just be aware that if you use the SIT Connection Manager again after editing those areas, it will be overwritten.
As far as displaying your 15 graphs and 50 indicators in an organized fashion, you can accomplish this by using a Tab Control. For more information on this, please check out this link.
    I hope this is helpful.

  • Graphs and Charts have to be displayed in Excel

    Hello,
The product that we are developing has got lot of client specific reports to be
generated, we would be embedding it within the application. It's a JAVA,J2EE
    based product.
We have a requirement where graphs and charts have to be displayed
in Excel sheets, does your reporting engine support that. We wanted to find out
if this features is actually supported.
We have tried out other reporting tools as well but had to disregard them due
to the lack of this feature only, so this feature has become one of the most
important deciding factor for selecting Crystal Reports as report development tool . Our clients prefer exporting most of the reports generated to excel.
If this feature is not there right now, How early can we expect this feature,
Is this planned in the next realease ?

    hi Amar,
    welcome to SDN ...
    try
    <A href="<SAP_BW_URL CMD='EXPORT' FORMAT='XLS' DATA_PROVIDER='your dataprovider'>">Export to excel</A>
    hope this helps.

  • "Unable to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct". Performance Point Dashboard Designer (SP 2013), SSRS 2012 Report.

    Hello Everybody,
I am using Sharepoint server 2013 , SQL Server 2012 SP1, PerfomancePoint and Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode.
I built one report in SSDTusing an Analysis Services Cube. This report has 3 parameters. So the idea is use Dashboard Designer to use this SSRS Report and connect it with some PP Filters.
The issue is that I am always obtaining "Unable to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have the following settings in the PP Report:
    Server Mode: SharePoint Integrated
    SharePoint Site: http://MySharrepointSite:PortNumber/sites/bicenter
Document library : Documents (selected from drop down, my report is deployed to document library)
    Report : report.rdl
When I select the report from drop down list its giving the error in a pop up message box as "Unable
to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have tried to use the most simple report, only with one parameter, but is always displaying the error above.
When I open the report directly from documents library its working fine and even it is working fine (
when I deployed the report) but the issue is parameters are not showing.
    Any idea? Please help.
    Thanks in Advance.

"Unable to connect to the server at CALYSTO\ReportService.
    Hello Tom,
It should be "ReportServer" in the URL, not "ReportService".
In "Reporting Service Configuration Manager" look up the correct URL. Open Internet Explorer with right-mouse click => "Run as Administrator" and open the URL, this should work. Navigate to "Side setting" (on top right side),
go to tab "Security" and add your account with role "System Administrator". Afterwards you should be able to open the URL without running IE as admin.

  • When displaying multiple curves on one 2d graph in reports how do I force one curve to be in the foreground?

When displaying multiple curves on one 2d graph in reports how do I force one curve to be in the foreground? I have two signals and I want to show one overlayed on top of the other. Right now Diadem will only graph it the other way around. I have tried deleting the curves and re-adding them in differnt orders, changin the order they are in the curve list, changing their order inthe data portal, right clicking on the curve and selecting "move to forground" (this only moves the entire 2-d graph object to the foreground). Im using Diadem 12.0 Basic.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Joe,
I figured out what causes your curves to draw in the wrong "order".
You are using two Y-axes, and DIAdem always draws the data for Y1 before Y2, no matter what the order of the curves is in the "Curve and Axis Definition" dialog.
I am attaching your layout with a small modification, I changed the Y1 and Y2 axis order (I swapped which Y-axis the data is displayed on), and I get the following result:
Once I looked at your layout it became clear why the order of the curves didn't reflect the order in which the curves were drawn. I didn't know this - so I just learned something new here as well.
I hope this answers your question, feel free to ask if there is anything else I can help you with.

  • Apex 4.1 Form and Report on Web Service Report displays nothing

Hello I created and tested a webservice using the test feature in Apex 4.1.
I know the results is a string of 1 row.
I created a Form and Report on Web Service. When I run the form there is nothing displayed in the Reports section its just blank.
If I run the sql from the results region I get no data found.
Is the problem the returned data is not stored in the collection?
Edited by: Oracle Primavera on Oct 26, 2011 3:32 PM

What would be the reason for the following.
Testing the webservice in apex returns values.
However when I run Form and Report on Web Service Report if I query the collection it is always empty?
Does anyone have any experience on this issue? Is it a bug? Please some hints I have been trying for two weeks without success.

  • Default Dashboard and Reports Home Page

    Hello All,
    1. I was wondering whether it is possible to change the default dashboard. Users currently have to select the appropriate dashboard and press the "Show" button to display a custom dashboard, I would like this to be the default if possible. Is this something that is possible, if not can customer care change these settings?
    2. Can you change the layout of the "Reports" screen. I would like to remove a few sections and reports that are not relevant. Is this something that is possible, if not can customer care change these settings?
    Thanks All...
    Innoveer

    Hi Guys,
Amazing suggestions on manipulating dashboard. We want to use same concept, to use a custom web for our custom dashboard, but i I have following queries, please answer them for me.
The data in dashboard gets filtered based on visiblity, so upon using the custom tab, how will the data visibility get affected. I feel that whatever data was supposed to be appeared on dashboard, same would be on the custom web tab. Data would be filtered based on Books. It would be nice to get confirmation from you guys. Also, please share if anyone had problems, or any other alternative suggestions.
Our reports on the dashboard has hyperlink to "Contact" and "Account" entities, but when we place the dashboard in custom tab, navigation is possible but, the return hyperlink, doesnot navigate back to custom tab, it always redirects back to Homepage. Any suggestions to fix, please do post them.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ashwini

  • PR and PO should be display in IWBK report for stock item.

    Hi Exterts,
Our client requirement is to display PR and PO number in IWBK report for stock item as well.
I know PR and PO can be display in IWBK report for non-stock item but how we can display PR and PO for stock item,as PR is generated through MRP for stock item.
Please share your ideas on this.
    Regards
    Vishu

    Vishu,
In typical MRP settings you "procure to stock" not "procure to order".
This means that there is no direct link between the PM/CS orders and any PR/POs created via MRP.
Subsequently you will not be able to show this data in IWBK.
However, we are currently designing a customer-specific report similar to IWBK that also counts the number of open POs for a given material on a PM/CS work order. The user can then navigate to ME2M (PO list) or MD04 (stock requirements list) to get further details.

  • Different display on client report builder and web reports

Hi all, I have build a report in report 6i version Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1.And I set the page to 8.5*11 ,and it runs well in the client ,but when I put it on the UNIX SERVER,and run it from web URL,It displayed different from the client report builder. The web report is "smaller" than the client report ,but the font size is as same as the client .
My HPUX is 11x,and display the Chinese report .
Any body know why ?give me some advice ,thank u very much.

    Hi
If you had built the report definition on Windows and then moved this to Unix server, you may find different fonts in use. This is becuase your Unix setup does not have the same fonts install. At design time, You need to use fonts which are available on Unix also. The same fonts shaould also be installed for printer in Unix i.e. the AFM/PFM font files should be kept under $ORACLE_HOME/guicommonX/tkXX/admin/AFM or PFM directory. This would give you the same output and would lessen the porting affect.
    Thanks

  • ALV report display online and generate in spool

    Dear expert,
I have created an ALV report. I want to run this report online. After executed, the report is displayed. After display this report, I also want to generate the output report in the spool. Is there any way to do this? Thank you.
I have tried to use submit...to SAP Spool. in this way, it will generate the spool, but it will not display the report online. I want it both display online and generate a spool.

well forget yout the new-page print on thingie, since you use ALV.
if you had a write list this trick would be cool since you just could do following:
    Do 2 times.
      if sy-index GT 1.
        new page print on.
      endif.
      loop at itab into wa.
        write stuff....
      endloop.
      if sy-index GT 1.
        new page print off.
      endif.
    enddo.
/edit arrrgh forgot to write further...
with your ALV you could process a write list as well after displaying but you will have layout differences between your display and your spool then and i dont think that this is what you want/need.
you could however after display process your programm a second time, in background task and give it a printer where to print to. Since ALV wont get executed in background task you will get a spool instead.
